I really like this series. Honestly, doing the In the Room tone is refreshing and really gives you, in my minuscule opinion, a better idea on how everything sounds. Keep this up!🤘🏼
@Luke I would think room dynamics would say it all... I used to know this shit...20 years ago was lot different ... was fun back then but to see what can be done now...Wow
Your opinion is not miniscule. This is, for the most part, what the amp sounds like. Raw, unedited, imperfect. That's how I personally like heavy metal to sound.
Hi Ola. As a sound engineer for 20+ years and has lots of experience in room/venue recordings, I recommend a boundary mic or two (stereo) on the back walls of the room in conjunction with what you're doing with the other mics. You might be pleasantly surprised... I hope. ;-)
He’s practiced the songs for years, you can see. He has the exact gear and nails the tone. But it still doesn’t sound like Dime is playing. Shows how unique this instrument is to each personality.
This is a content creator’s wet dream! Really liked hearing the different mics! Made me realize again why I can’t really room mic for my vids. Thanks Ola!
I'm a Marshall guy through and through, but this is my favorite in the room video. I loved hearing all those old Pantera riffs. I still remember the day I bought Far Beyond Driven and popped it in. That record is an absolute banger. There will never be another band like Pantera.
I've been screaming about this for years... What good is a polished close mic'd demo recording of an amp for knowing what an amp really sounds like in person?
Amazing tone! All the mic’s together sound awesome; I think you got the room vibe nailed down, and I love hearing that the most out of all these demos.
Keep going with this section! The all michrophones sound was awsome. I heared the video with earphones and it was a real surround experience. Realy notice the details. Excellent!!
Your new series really works, i clearly ear the difference between all thoses amp and this one is really doing the Pantera style like it is suppose to be, Great!
Absolutely loving these in the room demos! I would love it if there were more IRs out there with this kind of idea. This got me thinging about messing around with blending multiple IRs again.
Love the in the room stuff. Brings potential mic'ing ideas up to my attention to get a unique sound, pretty cool that you got a damn near in the room sound with just mics like that, as well.
Much better than the first video of this series! Nice use of switching between the various mics, then altogether. Definitely mission accomplished by getting that in the room sound.
This is a killer series do it do it do it do it.......please ✌🏻 I’m sick of watching videos of people sticking a microphone in an amp speaker and saying this is what it sounds like. 1st off who in the heck sticks there head in the dang speaker every and plays guitar. I play my guitar and listen to it in the room. I love this series Ola
Love this series! Great idea. Looking forward to ENGL, Fortin, 5150 and Diezel appearances! I think the dynamic mics in the corners pick it up well. You can feel the punch and room ambiance!👍
Forget gear demos, these videos have inspired me to try blending room mics with close mics on an actual track. I'm wondering if it would give an extra sonic texture to get leads to pop out in a mix.
Yeah man, sounds so much better! One can't exagerate or maybe it will loose definition or have too much lows or something in the song mix, but it sure sounds more awesome than the lone 57 near the speaker
Wow. You nailed it. The sound from all microphones is awesome. Man, I wish I could get close to that but even with my Washburn Solar USA and Kemper I am nowhere close to this. What an epic amp.
There's something super gritty yet clean and focused about a lot of solid state amps. The century in particular has a certain midrange grind that really pops. Some people would probably call it "sterile" sounding. But in a mix it would probably sit great with very little post processing required
I don´t know man, most of the times feels like I´m in another room, rather than close to the amp.... The one that really gives the feel is the one closer to the cone. Anyhow, is totally worth the time to try! Thanks for doing it, and congrats for the work, keep it up! Cheers from Brazil!!!
I got a silver mxr 10 band eq 2 weeks ago, it’s absolutely awesome and quiet. Really helped get rid of annoying frequencies and lets you know when there’s clipping happening.
that happened to my floyd on a 90's jackson.... I fixed it by pulling and replacing the trem posts and cleaning the pivot edges on the trem itself. (cleaning with a file)
HUGE improvement from previous. Getting quite close! Last thing I can think of factoring-in is maybe pulling a bit of high-end out; Lot of players have carpeted rooms.
What a class Dimebolt. Washburn > Dean all day for the Dimebag guitars. Had the same annoying issue with an old Satriani Ibanez trem where you had to tune it pushed down or pulled and stick to that. Simple knife edge sharpening and a bit of Chapstick on the posts and the trem centered perfectly every time.
Very subtle headstock on that guitar *cough*, but seriously the one thing I loved about Dimebag's riffs were the groove...people never talk about his groove but he had such a nice pocket and it sat so great with Vinnie's drumming, from years of rehearsing and playing together I am sure. It is one of the major things that a lot of music these days is missing from guys playing guitar in their bedrooms and programming drum tracks. Great video Ola and yeah it did sound like I was in the room.
Ola really gets his best sounds when he's using all his Dimebag gear. Sounds absolutely killer!
He always dials in solidstate gear. His tube gear tones always have too much upper mids.
I really like this series. Honestly, doing the In the Room tone is refreshing and really gives you, in my minuscule opinion, a better idea on how everything sounds. Keep this up!🤘🏼

Loved this video. My wife walked into the room and said “Ah watching Will it Chug or Will He Burp?” Glad to know she is paying attention.
U got a keeper!
...and he delivered both, massive chug and equally massive burb!
My wife walked in and assumed I was pleasuring myself
This is a really really good idea for a demo method.
My God Ola...The F**king tones you get.....Jeez.....They are what ever metal person should aspire to...I LOVE your tones....DAMN dude...LOVE IT!!!!!!
Hell yeah kicks ass🤟😎

I love this rig Ola! Dimebag forever!
This is gold! I wanted somebody to start making this type of videos for such a long time. Thank you Ola Englund
Honestly would rather see Ola playing Pantera along side Rex and Phil than Zakk Wylde. Love the video
Agreed if someone had to play Dimes spot I’d pick him or guitar player from Vulgar Display of Cover for sure. Zak s great but Dime was a new level
The reason Zakk makes sense isn’t because of his playing though. He was one of dimes main influences
@@Dirt_Serpent And they were really good friends
Even though Zack is an idol for me I do agree. Ola is just as of an aggressive player as Dime. Ola's style would fit perfectly.
Zakk was Dimes best Friend.

Audio way better than in the last video. Keep doing this, it's just a great idea!
Just saw a Randall Dime head for sale in a pawn shop. 3 mins later Ola pings my phone with this. Coincidence ?
Warhead or warhead x2?
The universe wishes to grant you the razor sharp and thunderous sound of the Hegemon of Heavy himself!!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Did you go sell your soul yet to buy it?
Buy it
@@powersv2 The REAL one is an RG100 G1

Totally agree 💯 cheers bro
I love how these sound. Old Randall, Crate and Ampeg SS are where it’s at for metal.
Don't forget the Marshal Valvestate 8100 and Peavy Supreme 160.
love the IN THE ROOM concept, so much more authentic :-)
I've been screaming about this for years...
What good is a polished close mic'd demo recording of an amp for knowing what an amp really sounds like in person?
Dude, your mixes in this series sound great!
such a cool experiment, some amps sound amazing in person and then when you mic them they dont always sound the same
Hey its Jamie Slays!
Amazing tone! All the mic’s together sound awesome; I think you got the room vibe nailed down, and I love hearing that the most out of all these demos.
What a tone!!!!!! The "All mic set" kick ass!!!!
Keep going with this section! The all michrophones sound was awsome. I heared the video with earphones and it was a real surround experience. Realy notice the details. Excellent!!
This is your best sounding in the room episode so far and it makes me one one of these!
the beginning all mic section is, so far, the most accurate in the room sounding mix yet, keep it up, love the concept
ugh it just sounds so good, please keep this series going 😫
I love the tones of these in the room so much more.
Your new series really works, i clearly ear the difference between all thoses amp and this one is really doing the Pantera style like it is suppose to be, Great!
I love that you love to play equipment from the 90s.
I think all the microphones together is the best representation of what it would sound like in person
Absolutely loving these in the room demos! I would love it if there were more IRs out there with this kind of idea. This got me thinging about messing around with blending multiple IRs again.
Why did the intro sound so much like Toki from the Metalocalypse?
@@jsullivan2112 Same voice actor (Tommy Blacha) is voicing both characters.
Exact same thought!
Beat me to it! XD
this tbh
Ola, can you do a LEGO review? Thank.
Ola said he doesn't speak Danish, so how he will understand how to use LEGO
I did once! ua-cam.com/video/1FBxsnbjAg4/v-deo.html
Ola Englund oh golly, YOU DID!
Hey that’s my son in laws ride!?!
Charlie M
How could you NOT know?
I watched it twice!
Ola! I just got my vinyl record and I love it! Thanks for autographing it too.
Great job ola, you’ve done a great job at trying to get that “in the room tone”. Love it and keep the series going.
The amount of work that went into this video.. setting up all those extra mics, cameras and working with extra footage and audio... Man! 👍🏼👍🏼
That’s probably the most satisfying sound I’ve ever heard.
One of THE BEST DIME SOUND you recorded!! killer!!
As always Ola just kicks ass!! Legend in the making!🤘🏻
Love this series so much 👍. So great to just hear the equipment & your playing as it truly is .

i own a century 200 and i have to say especially with all micrphones engaged, the "in the room" tone is very authentic.
Definitely one of the best sounding solid-state amps.
Loving this series so much! And those 2 "modes" killed me
7:05 Ola! Please do a video where you show us how to fix that problem with a Flyod Rose! I have the same issue and I can't fix it

I could listen to this all day
All microphones sound amazing
Be sure to add more content like this Ola,it sounds terrific brother
MUCH LOVE FROM INDY
I F'ing LOVE the In The Room series, gives us a much better appreciation for how an amp sounds really :D
Really liking this series! Sounds great!
Wow the Neumann mic sounds like Im sitting in row 0 and you are right there. Sounds amazing!
Love the tone of these amps!
This is what I wanted to hear, it really sounds like having the amp by your side. I hope you will try the Randall RG series in the next episodes
Dude, your Bobcat Goldthwait impression is spot on.
Man this is fantastic, it seems to stand right near you, great great job!
Oh my God! And I thought I couldn't love Ola even more!!
that amp sounds brutal! And ofcourse your skills too
That tone with the MXR 6-band....wow!
I’m really liking this mic setup. Good stuff, Ola. 🤘🏻
My favorite amp. Thanks Ola for the vid.
as years go by, i have not yet found any video getting the dime sound just as close as this one.
This is an awesome and unique series. Keep it up.

Totally rocking my world, man! I love this series- I do hope there’s some nifty IR’s along with these for members
Finally some real and huge sounding demos among this all over the place flooded ir insanity!
How ‘bout “Will it chug... In the room?” reviews?
Love this video series Ola !! keep chugging !!

The beginning of the video freaked me out. I will never ever be able to sleep good again 😳
Solo record from you sometime? Or collab with Ola
Never let em see ya face!
Wait it’s too late!! Besides ya face to pretty to hide.

"sleep good again", that's so Swedish! =)
Good combination of microphones. A big improvement to the first room sound clip 👍
What's the Riff at 3:22? I've heard it in multiple videos, and it sounds so familiar.
"There's two modes." ...Ola making the best of every situation.
Nice work Ola 🤘😎🤘
So good, I really felt the amp and volume ⚡️🤯

Loving this in the room thing
I love the Rode Dynamic Mics, they really capture the room feel. The Neumann TLM 102 sounds amazing as well. Killer video Ola!!! 🤘

That ortf sounds amazing! Gives a real feal for the room blend that with the beyer and 😘
Damn that ORTF mic and placement sounds amazing!
