Like as in Jazz music. Many people found out that the pickup also sounds great with an overdrive. It's just a legendary Seymour Duncan pickup that was originally ascribed for jazz music.
@@loknloll That's as much as I've ever heard about it, except for the overdrive being single most important step for the original design regarding the EQ being set up for jazz to working well with a fat overdrive without it becoming too woofy or flabby. Maybe there's something more to one of the most used legendary pickups than "it's just a pickup, it's as easy as 1-2-3, and that's that and there's nothing else to it". How much has it been modified from the beginning, when was it made, what speakers was it designed with, what modifications has it gone through, what has it morphed into (sure there are many pickups that have been based around it), etc.
Nice guitar man! Couple of years ago i build my own ml style guitar that has some things in common with yours: wallnut body, maple-mahogany neck, floyd rose bridge. Btw you CAN wire a normal EMG and splittable EMG to one master volume. I don't know if you have to but if you use the pushpull pot you can then split the neck EMG wiht it and it will still controll the master volume of both pickups.
