so glad Kawasaki does it, imo twins never sound good, you need atleast 3 cyls. Kawasaki will become few unique value brands that offer great experience, I think it is better for kawasaki.
yeah i need that shit. i don't even know how many times i almost died from both embarrassment and from going 100 acceleration to 0 by shifting from 1st to neutral. it's to the point where i try to ignore 1st gear as much as i can. either you shift to neutral or you don't shift fast enough and hit rev limiter either way you are hitting a brick wall with that full sport bike acceleration to negative acceleration in 0.0002sec
I think the reason it's hard to find neutral is that Kawasaki may still be using the "positive neutral finder" feature that I had on my old ZX6R. If you're stopped in 1st gear then no matter how hard you pull up on the gear shift lever, it wont go past neutral and into 2nd. The downside is that it's very difficult to slip into neutral while you're coming to a stop.
Yeah its the positive neutral finder. It's quite annoying sometimes. If you stop at 2nd gear and shift down the meter will go - and act kinda confused. Also if you're going super slow from 1 to 2 it might just go into Neutral instead of 2, right after launching. Yeah it might be caused by not shifting properly, but at most times the gear is super smooth you get used to not using that much force.

1. No vibrations at all 2. Not sure what you mean sorry. 3. The 6R is probably more “refined” because it’s been around a lot longer. But the 4RR feels pretty refined. No complaints here. 4. Trying to decide if I wanna switch to either the ZX-4RR or ZX-6R. Help! Lol
Hi Liz, I did ride the 2022 ZX6R which is a little different but mostly the same as the new one. The ZX6R was a fantastic bike, I really enjoyed riding it. If this is going to be your only bike then I think the ZX6R would be better since it is more suited for a wide variety of riding. The ZX4RR makes similar power to the ninja 650 you had but its different because the 650 made more power down low vs the zx4rr makes it mostly at the top. The ZX4RR would be an awesome bike for carving up twisty roads and track days but the zx6r would be better for open roads. They are priced similar so if I were you i'd go to the dealer and sit on both and pick which one you like more. Good luck!
It's a great looking bike, but giving the example of my country (Portugal), you have a Kawasaki wih 400 cc with 77 hp, costing €10300, and you have a Honda CBR 650r, wih 650 cc and 95 hp consting €9900... guess what the majority of people will choose!
I dont see how one can say a ninia 400 gets boring - it's hella fun and punches way aboves its weight especially in the twisties. Best bike I ever sold
For 10K??? Uh..........YEAH,that's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced for a 400cc sportbike! I remember when I first purchased my 2000 (almost 25 years ago) Honda CBR929RR,THAT was 10K and WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY TOO,as it had PHENOMENAL POWER in "stock" condition! Of course,I added an upgraded exhaust to it (Just the can,as the REST OF IT was all Titanium!!!) and uploaded a much better fuel-mapping into the ECU,and from then on........OH YEAH,she was a sweet machine!!! Not that she wasn't beforehand (as the price for it new,was justified!) but PAYING the same price for a 400cc bike today, that has "meh" stock power to it? I'd pass.........although I'd LOVE to swing a leg over one with an upgraded exhaust and has been flashed!!! Hope you find one and post about it on here! Good Video Man! : >)
$10000 in the year 2000 is the same as a little over $18000 in todays money as per the Federal Reserve website inflation calculator. Not a fair comparison in terms of price.
Underpowered and way overpriced. I was behind the 2023 ZX-6R during the Kawi Good Times Demo the other day. After a 2nd gear easy right turn onto Jackson School Rd from Evergreen, the 6R effortlessly pulled away from me while I gave the 4R all its beans. After the ride, the 6R guy told me that he only revved to 7k! Even merging with freeway traffic I had to keep the 4R engine wound out and in a low gear. I found myself constantly shaking my head in disappointment during the ride. Even when you’re stopped, the neutral notch is super small, so you lose focus on what’s going on around you while your going up and down trying to get the trans to hit neutral. All this for $13,000 out the door.🙄
Lol finally someone with a brain that understands! I’m all for smaller bikes but only a few grand under a 600cc I’d just buy the Zx6r, but all in all I rather just have 04-10 Zx10r 😂
Perhaps the clutch needed adjustment, but once in 1st and stopped, it will only shift to neutral. With an aftermarket air filter, ecu flash, and a slip on, the claim is about 75 hp to the ground. The slip on and tail tidy reduce weight by 9 lbs, so it's about 406 lbs with a full tank. I've had bigger, more powerful bikes, but ripping through the gears and making fun noises without destroying the speed limits is really fun. Also, keeping up with bigger, more powerful bikes is easy in the twisties since it can carry more speed into the corners. This is not my only bike, but it sure is fun to ride!!
only a novice rider with no talent would try to find neutral before they have stopped, stop the bike and then find neutral, it's not hard for those that can ride properly.
You sir are the novice if you think it's advantageous to come to a stop then fiddle around to find neutral when you're slowing down you might as well hit neutral as you come to a stop you're holding the clutch in anyway idiot

@@davidlagno7717i still remember looking at a yamaha 400 in the 90s, and told myself someday I will own one 😊i had the cbr600rr 2009, sold it in 2020… so I’ve been deciding between the zx4rr or the cbr650r with e clutch … instead of a zx6r, save some money and get a klx300 or crf300… sold my crf450f 2003 in 2020 as well … just trying to rebuild my lineup and downgrade to smaller displacements. Not in a rush either.
@ilovebohol I had an 07 600RR I loved it and it got stolen. I started riding around 11 or 12yrs old. Had alot of dirtbikes. I still have my 1970 Trail 70. It was sitting for 20yrs before I found it. My first bike. Now I have a Bandit 1250 and a S1000RR. There older now but I'm satisfied. I love speed and I love long trips with no destination. Just like before GPS. I'd love to have a little thumper like new 300's. I just don't have the money or the room. Do what you love and be safe. I have love for anyone on 2wheels ❤️
Bro you seemed a good experienced knowledge about MOTORCYCLES ... !!!!
Can you give us some RIVALS of this ZX 4RR .. ???
( On the based on it's performances ).
Ans :
Name any sport bike that does not need a full exhaust and tune from the factory?
Unless there is some track series that this competes in, i do not see the market on the street.
Many years back i had a Z400j. Did some tweaks and had a good linear powered bike. Never ridden a modern 400.
the ONLY factor would be, is it restricted? If so, it's just soso.. If it's un restricted and tuned, it's a good time.
they only come unrestricted in europe in north america its limited to like 50 hp and u have to tune it to get the full potential 74 hp ish and thats after paying 10k
@@bobbertyt2468 That was probably the only way we were ever gonna get a 400cc i4, since the emmisions were probably not good enough without the restriction.
its restricted.. flash fixes it but probably voids the warranty, which sucks
I think Kawasakis have a thing that keeps you from going to neutral while moving. Helps with the 1-2 shifts.
The person who messages you with a telegram account is trying to scam you. Do not reply to this person. Report if possible
I've ridden many Kawasaki sport bikes but I haven't had an opportunity to ride the new 400, a lightweight high revving bike has got to be fun to hit the back roads with.
Hero!! I love your content! I'd really love to see a video on 600cc naked bikes if you would be interested :) I have a Benelli Tornado 600, which is basically a more pasta'd out 599 hornet. I'd live to hear your thoughts on the segment and whether a naked 4cyl middleweight makes any sense.
Kawasaki should have priced it much closer to the ninja 400 if they wanted people to buy this bike. As it is, people will see the price of this and just get the 6r instead. They're definitely not getting cross-shoppers of the 400 or 6r at this price.
Canada gets the ZX4-R as well, sans quick shifter and fork preload for about a grand less. Kinda wish the US got that model too.
@@hokogan is it otherwise the same bike? That would have been much more appealing
@@Pinkskull69420 Yeah, just a different paint job, no QS, and no fork preload. I think everything else is the same. You can compare both versions on the Kawi Canada site.
@@hokogan i dont like QSs personally anyway so that would be my choice. But hey nothing wrong with more bikes in the market
@@Pinkskull69420 Same. It would be great to have that option here.
Awesome man, I really like your content. I got few questions:
1. How much vibrations are there on this one compared to 600cc's other performance bikes?
2. sound is little thinner than 600 it seems, is that so?
3. Suppose If I got 4R and 6R to choose from then which one would feel better in terms of refinement and overall? I am leaning towards new 6R.
Final one: I like high revving smooth motor inline sound, so which one would be best pick if i get the option. Example: Daytona 675R, 2019 6R etc.
1. No vibrations at all
2. Not sure what you mean sorry.
3. The 6R is probably more “refined” because it’s been around a lot longer. But the 4RR feels pretty refined. No complaints here.
4. I’ve never ridden a Daytona so not sure. But if smooth high revving is your weapon of choice then you can’t go wrong with a 6R
@@HeroRR appreciate the response bro, I love analog tachometer and hate these cheap looking LCD displays and I also don't like the sharp pointy look of older Ninja so I need to make compromises, and being F1 fan I have been saving cash for a good bike from years now. in India they can get bit pricey and you don't get Demos here. So I follow youtubers. Yammie Noob loves his daytona so comparing with that. If you get chance please compare that once.
And by point #2 I meant bigger engines make sound with bass like z900 does, 4R sounded little sharp. My personal fav is new 2024 CBR600RR they finally got the nose right but that won't come in Indian market so have to choose between Daytona and 6R.
Between the Daytona and 6R, I'd personally go with the 6R, even though I like both. More refined, long production (so more aftermarket support), and Japanese quality. Just my $0.02.
@@ivecentral I am leaning towards 6R but have heard Daytona is more agile and comfortable, not to mention it looks beautiful than 2019 6R. As for new 6R we don't know when it will be launched here in India. BTW do you know if Daytona has any vibrations? What you mean by more refined?
Brooo i knew i recognized those streets, i moved out to westborough but lived in hyannis/dennis for 3 years
My dream bike. I had Kawasaki ninja zxr 400, it was my first big bike. It was mine for 8 years, I was happy with that bike, but was old 1992. Then I changed for Suzuki gsx-r 600.
any thoughts on using this for a daily 50 mile round trip to work ? (all street)
It always amazes me that guys like your friend turn up to test ride bikes in zero protective gear other than gloves -
Because they are test riding!!! If your that hopeless on a bike that you think you might Crash it, take up Golf.
@@anthonycavalliotis8736 lol. Ok. Whatever. Super ignorant statement. So you are saying that because they are test riding the chances of them being hit by an idiot driver is lower?
If you get collected by a large, slow moving car, truck or bus that's your fault. People like you can't ride. Your the type of person who would get injured by using a power tool too. Mate, u wear safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and a respirator when cutting wood with a saw. 🤣😂 You have no idea how quick a sports bike can stop & change direction. Sad you ride whole Life without coming close to knowing their capabilities. But we need mass consumers like you to keep costs per unit lower. Thanks for supporting the Motorcycle Industry.@@KiwiMoto72
I want you to see how it feels after yhe tune. Your gaining 20 hp. Plus the power wont be cug
These all need to be de restricted, they're 50HP factory and well over 70 de restricted. You can hit 80+ with mods.
Not in Europe. Sorry, just saying 🤐
@@amococ2487 In Europe the ZX-4RR has 77hp stock (80hp when going fast enough to engage RAM Air).
@@t4r1k98 I know, I'm in Europe. That's what I said. They don't need to be de-restricted in Europe

Hey HeroRR, i was recently in a little crash with my 954, f150 blows past his stop sign and doesnt see me, anyway my bike only really has front-end damage and I want to fix it up, is there anyway you give me some guidance? I can send you pictures and ill keep my questions short lmao. This is my first time working on a bike and I would love some help from you!
Honestly this bike seems perfectly okay stock for our roads in the Northeast, after a tune and exhaust i can't see it being useless. I just would need something bigger as well for the hooligan in me
kinda sounds like my weedwhacker lol. Man, I'd love to have one. Looks like it'd really be fun to just wring out in the twisties.
I have a ZX4RR. Hit me up if you have any questions, I have quite a few miles on mine.
Thanks for this video! Have you tried out the 2024 ZX-6R yet? Can you do a video comparing it with this ZX-4RR? I went from a 2020 Ninja 400 (which I loved as my first bike) and then after 3 years I went to a 2017 Ninja 650. I like the 650 because of the power, but I do miss my 400 😭.
Good luck!
my only problem is it is almost the same size and price as a zx6r
The pick up like 20 horsepower on the top end when you de restrict them
You should try a ZX14r pretty entertaining
There is no throttle slack because it is true ride by wire.
In your opinion what's the bike with the best exhaust sound (600cc) ?
08-16 R6 all day!
even without the exhaust, euro tune is about 75hp
Personally would get an Aprilia RS660 over this.
More bike for not a lot more money.
The guy wearing jeans, sneakers and a hoodie hates rain? I'm surprised....
This was made for twisties and to destroy the 1000s on the track.
im not deep pocket, a 400cc with 250 maintenance already good enough for me ❤
Why did you delete your Facebook Danny?
Bought my 2014 zx10r from pilgrim powersports
$10,000 for 52hp on a sports bike??? No way on earth.
It's a great looking bike, but giving the example of my country (Portugal), you have a Kawasaki wih 400 cc with 77 hp, costing €10300, and you have a Honda CBR 650r, wih 650 cc and 95 hp consting €9900... guess what the majority of people will choose!
Good review.
I got a 300 in Massachusetts
they just had a recall too
you dont need to clutch my guy... it has up and down quickshift with auto blip...
That bike is tuned down to 41hp.
They can be tuned up to 91hp.
Oh shit my dude
For a few weeks… until you need more power.
Beavis n butthead
Give me a ZRX 400, and I'm in.
So sweet. Too bad I'm poor
Kinda like a old cb1 400 super four
$10,000? that would be a firm no for me. There are lots of other better bigger cc bikes out there for much less.
over 10k with markups
So picking up a new 2023 for 9551+ tax. Selling my Yamaha T7 so to lessen the pain I thought I would splurge!
I dont see how one can say a ninia 400 gets boring - it's hella fun and punches way aboves its weight especially in the twisties. Best bike I ever sold
Isn’t this bike meant to be drivin above 12k
above 10k ideal
Now they just got to embrace older styling and not make them look like crumpled tin cans or a freeze frame from Michael Bays Transformers.
It would probably cost you $3000 to delete all the emissions stuff on that motorcycle
No way. Full exhaust + flash will be no more than 1500.
Flash it
Thanks. I think it’s important to factor in inflation. In year 2000 $10k is = to $18k in 2023. $10k today is closer to $5,500 in year 2000.
Somewhat True, but back in 2000,the earning wages compared to today, was also a lot less as well!!! @@ProdicalMan

Love your videos & insights but that outro music is...cancerously unfitting.
Reminds me of my CB-1
only a novice rider with no talent would try to find neutral before they have stopped, stop the bike and then find neutral, it's not hard for those that can ride properly.
You sir are the novice if you think it's advantageous to come to a stop then fiddle around to find neutral when you're slowing down you might as well hit neutral as you come to a stop you're holding the clutch in anyway idiot
Not true at all
