Tommy Wiseau should write a book and make a movie about how James Franco approached him and 'The Disaster Artist' was made. He can then play James Franco in the movie.
Maybe he just wants you to think he's a bad actor of whom you think that he thinks of himself that he is a good actor, making him an even better than good actor?
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
Then Franco should direct the direction of Tommy while directing Franco directing "The Disaster Artist"... Than would be like the Greatest Paradox ever :v
No we need a movie that's big in CGI and Blue screen, but the final cut they forgot to put in all the CGI so it's just actors acting around blue screen. Then it's revealed Tommy directed it.
You’ve gotta have respect for Tommy. He was told his film was terrible and was really only loved for being terrible. I don’t know how I would have reacted, but he’s so optimistic and happy and clearly loves to be in the spotlight in front of all of these people. That’s just so damn beautiful
I love The Room and I have massive respect for Tommy because he had a vision and he stuck to it and made it happen. How many people can say that they've done that?
He's probably protective about his age (like a lot of actors and especially actresses are), but I believe you may be right about where's he's from. He's probably told the same story so many times he genuinely believes it or doesn't remember anymore.
I love how James Franco was so taken aback by the fact that Tommy actually just admitted he is from Europe, and nobody in the audience seems to get it.
Jose Colella And that legend seems very likely. There is evidence of a man called Tomasz Wieczór/Wieczorek/Wieczorkowski (don't remember exactly) being born on Poznań around the time when our Tommy might've been born. Someone even tracked a Wieczor family in New Orleans, probably his aunt and uncle who he used to live with.
@@kohl4940 I feel it's all in good fun. I think it's clear that Franco has a certain respect for Tommy and makes fun of him in that way as a friend. As an actor, he's done his best to literally get inside Tommy's mind, so he probably knows him quite well and knows which buttons not to push. I haven't seen many of the interactions between the two, but from what I have seen, Tommy never seems to get upset with James.
I love how he has the same laugh in real life as he does in the Room. I always thought that laugh was so fake and was just a result of bad acting but, no, that's his real laugh.
Franco is an artist and Tommy is without a doubt a performance artist unlike any other, 100% unique. Franco admires artistry, the struggle, and taking the risk. Ultimately, Tommy made The Room for himself and his friend, Greg. That was the intended audience. That the rest of us like The Room or love to hate The Room or whatever feelings we get from The Room is icing on the cake for Tommy. James Franco realized this and made the movie to tell us this. It reminds me a lot of the recent career of Kevin Smith which I do not think is a mistake given the nature of this movie. Kevin Smith makes movies now for himself, his friends, and "his audience" and tries not to care about critics and people who don't get him. That still makes him a successful artist even though haters gonna hate--but what have they created?
This is true. It seems like a lot of people, including the producers and celebrities in the movie really admire Tommy for this as well. He truly is a purer artist than mos who do things out of talent or mastery.
You have to give it to Tommy. The man is always 100 % himself. He doesn't hide his oddities. He fully embraces them. And the best thing is, this got him somewhere. It's not where he originally wanted to end up. But he seems to be happy with where he is. That's quite an achievement, in my eyes.

It's kind of like when you manage to make a number go into the negative in an old video game, but because the system isn't designed for that it loops around and becomes an insanely high positive number. The last 15 years were just the system trying to figure out how to handle that negative number. :P
How Ironic is it, that Tommy's most famous line is," YOu're tearing me apart Lisa!" which is taken directly from a James Dean movie because he idolizes James Dean. And the actor to portray James Dean in his autobiographical movie is James Franco, who is NOW portraying Tommy Wiseau!!!! Mind Blown!!

Three quarters in, I thought it was just an actor doing a bloody terrible impression of Wiseau and then I realized that that was actually Tommy. Edit: Wow, thanks for all the likes. "If more people love each other, the world would be a much better place."
I know it doesn't seem like much, but this movie has brought Tommy the fame that he's always aspired to have. I bet after The Room did so poorly, he felt really depressed, and he felt he'd failed at his biggest life goals. It's like a dream come true for him finally, and I find it really touching.
Zach don't underestimate the cult following. The movie is still played to sold out audiences around the world, and it has even turned a profit despite it's insanely inflated budget. This movie is giving him some real spotlight, and that's awesome and what he's always wanted I'm sure, but I really don't think tommy sees himself as a failure. That's kinda just not how he is, and he isn't even a failure anyways. He may have failed his way into success, but ultimately that makes him a success, not a failure!
A living legend you never heard of...Seriously I search his name and the first article to come up was titled: "Who Is Tommy Wiseau? All About the Man Behind James Franco's The Disaster Artist"
Dude actually owns a very successful clothing company, which is kind of hilarious to think about. But hey, he speaks funny but the oddity that is Tommy is the same kind of oddness that has Die Antwoord selling millions of albums. People love to "wtf". Tommy is zef.
Tommy Wiseau is so like-able, no matter how bad the acting is it's like he isn't even acting. He plays himself in the movie. I think that's why The Room is so popular. I have yet to watch The Room though which I will fix very soon.
How could you possible know what he’s like in the movie just because he’s likeable in real life? He’s so mysterious it’s hard to say what his true personality is. I’ve seen the room and the reason why it’s a cult classic is because of how WEIRD it is. The dialogue and scenes make no sense it’s hilarious. That being said.....Tommy is awesome!
Love it!!! So true. When I had this on my roommate thought I was watching a French vampire movie. He sounds like a cross between French and Romanian. Oh the irony.
are u serious?!?! I loved franco's portrayal but in this interview he showed us his real self: stuck-up and looking down on the guy, just cos wiseau is weird. So?
I actually got vibes that are opposite to yours! I feel like James respects people genuinely and reminds me of a friend I have who has this energy and likes bringing the spotlight to others like what James did for Tommy in this interview. He seems to honestly find happiness in being around his friend Tommy - that is what I deduced
Honestly though, I feel like Tommy is trying soooo hard to seem normal here. He worked so hard on his accent and speech impediment, it almost seems immoral to laugh at him
I hope he isn't insecure about being different. He's certainly strange, but he's unique and that's part of why he's so well known now. He also must be a decent guy in real like for Sestero to have tolerated him for so long. He has such a mysterious past and I respect him for not wanting to share his private life, but he's just fascinating to witness.
Having just finished listening to the 11 hour long audio book "The disaster Artist" written by Greg Sestero, I can see why Tommy would say that the book is only 40% accurate vs. 99.9% for the film. In the book it seems like Greg makes a lot of assumptions about Wiseau's past and what motivates his character, and deals with a lot of internal issues that likely would have made Tommy super uncomfortable, whereas the film, for the mostpart only scratches the surface, dealing chiefly with the external course of events in a way that's fun and light. After all, very few people tend to view their own life as a comedy, as its playing out, especially if they've had a dark past, as seems to be the case with Tommy. Being able to view his own life through an escapist lens was probably incredibly liberating for the guy.
SiriusBigbadda - Yeah 40% of it. Either way it's the reason why the "The Disaster Artist" movie was made in the first place, which is giving him even more fame and success than he had before, and the perfect propeller for his and Greg's new movie. The guy is somewhat business savvy, so I doubt he's going to complain at this stage.
Yes, exactly. Or reminiscent of treating people with learning difficulties (I'm sure he has something; someone else mentioned Asperger's) or mental health conditions as specimens to be mocked and used for entertainment.
Tommy is the kind of guy that would never hit a woman, he would nawt

He did not bring him, it's not true it's bullshit
He did noooot
*HE DID NAWWWT
Oh hi Mark
It seems to me like you're the EGGSPERT commenter cyberlo
Yea its more like Tommy brought James to the show
I know it doesn't seem like much, but this movie has brought Tommy the fame that he's always aspired to have.
Eddie Panedi tru truuu
The Room turned Tommy into a millionaire if he wasn't already.
kthxbai Well he spent $6,000,000 on it so I assume he was a millionaire way before he decided to make the movie.
You do know the room has been popular for 15 years? It did veey poorly initially but made a profit and continues to do so
A living legend on the stage tonight, folks.
Yea, Jimmy Kimmel is the fuckin' the G.O.A.T., man!
A living legend you never heard of...Seriously I search his name and the first article to come up was titled: "Who Is Tommy Wiseau? All About the Man Behind James Franco's The Disaster Artist"
He should go for the Bollywood.
People'll love him there, lol
Tommy is like a pure being, that just happens to be human
he's a human bean
I love how James Franco keeps slipping into Tommys accent when he's just talking casually
His laugh kills me every time
HA HA HA HA--
Adil Y It's like he's not laughing, but acting like he's laughing, much like his acting.
Ha ha
HUH huh huh uh
new law everyone must play catch with football in suit and tie
He wears that exact same outfit to every interview, truly a legend
I met this man in this exact outfit. Same amount of sweat and grease in his hair too
Thats a men in black suit
It's his Bill Gates, Steve Jobs go to outfit. Only genius' understand their genius is too precious to waste on mere consideration of apparel 😂
He doesn’t want to hurt his brain thinking what he wants to wear
Dude actually owns a very successful clothing company, which is kind of hilarious to think about. But hey, he speaks funny but the oddity that is Tommy is the same kind of oddness that has Die Antwoord selling millions of albums. People love to "wtf".
Tommy is zef.
Tommy keeps breaking out laughing, for no apparent reason: the movie makes so much more sense now.
Tommy Wiseau on Trending... now that’s a sight I thought I’d never see.
Alex Desmall Our boy finally made it to Hollywood
that pewdiephile wouldn't of had any impact on it no real youtubers ever have impact on anything that happens in hollywood
Everything adds up
i expect "oh hi Jimmy"(like oh hi mark)
Tommy Wiseau is so like-able, no matter how bad the acting is it's like he isn't even acting. He plays himself in the movie. I think that's why The Room is so popular. I have yet to watch The Room though which I will fix very soon.
pKostas1601
It's hard to watch
Yeah I can imagine. People are lining up to see it again and again. The entire movie is a meme. It's probably entertaining in the long run
That's fair. I guess I meant he's a very likeable character in the movie.
I did not hit her I did not it's not true I did not hit her I did noooot
Oh hi mark
It's BULLSHIT.
noot noot
Skychrew oh hi Mark
Hi doggie
He's Elon Musk's stoner older brother.
They come from the same planet
Ivan _Skates when Elon Musk watched the Room he couldn’t understand why everyone else was laughing and he was crying.
I can't unsee it
I just wish the best for Tommy man, he brought so much joy to so many people, may he achieve all his dreams
Oh hai Mark
Maximum Blaster he brought so much joy to people, but you know we're laughing at him, not with him, right?
Nah... He's good hearted. I laugh with him :)
ALIEN, VAMPIRE, LEGEND.
moviemaster marco Oh hi marco
3ZX8Ball DO YOU UNDERSTAND LIFE!?
Love it!!! So true. When I had this on my roommate thought I was watching a French vampire movie.
He sounds like a cross between French and Romanian. Oh the irony.
+moviemaster marco DEW YUU
The superior title IMO for the new Franco movie instead of "The Disaster Artist".
I'm glad James Franco finally found someone weirder than him to make a movie about haha
Eddie Panedi Haha well said, keep being weird 😊
that is so accurate
People want entertainment, this man is pure entertainment
Not gonna lie this was so wholesome and adorable
NO
Jess Mann YOU'RE TEARING ME APART!
Jess Mann oh, hi mark
are u serious?!?!
He seems to honestly find happiness in being around his friend Tommy - that is what I deduced
his laugh is EXACTLY the same as his laugh in the movie
yeh, he plays himself!
why wouldn't it be?
Hah hah hah what a story Mark
THAT is pure acting my friend
Haha you must be kidding me aren't you?
Tommy Wiseau is vagueness in human form.
Hi doggie
BROTHER
he should be a psychic
MB Coll couldn't have put it in better words myself!
I did not hit her it’s bullshit I did not hit her. I did not... oh hi mark
The book is 40% true.
The movie is adaptated from the story of the book.
The movie is 99.9% true.
Upgrades, people. Upgrades.
And book about the movie that was about the book that was about the original movie was reportedly 67.843% true.
That accent is with James now forever...
It’s hilarious that he wanted to be famous and now he’s on Jimmy Kimmel
NbhCameron Mitchell
Disaster Artist final credits : Until this day Tommy hasn't revealed where he is from.
First Promo interview : I'm from Europe!
Europe is a diverse continent, people mean specifics.
elladatomegaleiosou I read someone duh into his past and believe he’s from Poland?
he could've said he's from earth, that'd be more awesome
elladatomegaleiosou love it when americans think Europe is a country haha not that there are many diffrent people languages and stuff lmao
Maybe the Netherlands
Wiseau seems like a genuinely sweet guy.
It’s sooo nice to see Tommy so happy. :) I think this whole disaster artist thing has given him alot of self confidence.
I'm not sure self confidence was ever an issue with this guy, lol
It is kind of a big deal that Tommy says he is originally from Europe. He has never said it before, just claimed he was from Louisiana.
I think he once said his family was from France but he moved to Louisiana as a kid...?
Don't be fatuous, Jeffrey born in Poland, moved to France then to USA
he said it before. i read it somewhere
Didn't he also say he grew up in brooklyn?
This will change the course of history.
Maybe in next 10 years he'll tell us if he's from eastern or western europe.
he's probably from poland
@DereMemo Well DUH
Yeah Google and Reddit says hes polish from Poznań
Oh and then he changed his name
Both. But he's American naoo
Tommy is the only person ever to actually laugh like Hahahahaha
Iam 99.99% sure tommy is count dracula
there was apparently an alternate-plan ending for the original film which pretty much went there...
Roth?
He’s not Dracula, he’s real American hero...
...more like Count Chocula.
Hahaha what a story Mark!
@@kirin1230 Most likely some sort of undiagnosed aspergers.
Accent-speach impediment are not equal
@@CelticAngloPress2nd Really that now? 🤦♂️
@@alexradice8163 Tommy clearly has an accent, but it sounds like he might have a slight speech impediment too, which is what I think OP is saying
Tommy honestly seems like a really nice guy. I'm happy for him.
Tommy Wiseau is an actual enigma and should be considered a national treasure. What an epic man!
No waaaay... That's so awesome, Wiseau must be so proud! 👏
Eriasu Ren. Hell yeah, tell me why I felt giddy like a close friend of mine went on Jimmy Kimmel
Eriasu Ren I think James has really matured as an actor. I think most people only knows him from the spider-man movies
Brakathor well said
Well Tommy approves of the book too.
Brakathor
Hello Brakathor, I remember you from the Patrice livestream. It’s nice to see you’re intelligent as well as funny.
Carry on.
Oh hi Clowny. Were you around for my "punching babies" bit that I pulled on that catfishing artist? That was my best moment by far in there.
I never thought id see the day Tommy went mainstream. Good for him
Lol omg The way James face lights up with Tommy there are no words for. He’s so in love with him 🥰👏🏼
This interview was solid gold. And way too short.
1:53 James: "Tommy, I thought this was a New Orleans accent.''
Tommy: "You're lying, it's bullshit!" lmao
TheBraunMachine2011 I’m a New Orleanian Guy and our accents sound very similar to a New York accent.
His quotes in real life are even better than in the room
I love this line:
"You can laugh, you can cry, you can express yourself but please don't hurry yourself"
BHuang92 hurt*
This feels like bullying
Yes, exactly. Or reminiscent of treating people with learning difficulties (I'm sure he has something; someone else mentioned Asperger's) or mental health conditions as specimens to be mocked and used for entertainment.
It is. He's just a punching bag for a couple of elitist assholes that use him to make themselves feel better.
yes, I despise this
Yeah...
Agreed
4:30 Jimmy suddenly gets possessed by Seth Rogen
Kyle Youldon lol i see what you mean
😂😂
😂😂😂
HAHAHAHA
lmao
Legend says he still thinks hes acting
The Cool_dude this very well may be the funniest Comment ever made
Dante Smith yah 😂😂😂😂
The Cool_dude Ha ha ha, what a story, dude
The fact that you are saying you know what Tommy thinks is a very VERY *BOLD* statement there sir please give proof or retract
The Cool_dude
Who's Legend...?
What if he’s such a good actor he trailed everyone into thinking he’s a bad actor
intresting imagination you have, my good sir.
Well
that's what i thought
I think the same exact thing! He has to be an actor who just trolls as some weirdo.
We will never know
Tommy Wiseau will be the bridge to peace in the Universe
Oh hai, Jimmy, i hav never been on American talk show befor, this is good show, HAH?
Jackarantula I now know that lolcats were directly inspired by Tommy Wiseau.
Are you the one that got roasted by Jeremy Jahns on twitter?lol.
Anyways how's your sex life?
DeAth GaMing THAT'S ME! (Just answered your question and quoted The Room at the same time, smooth).
anyway, how's sex life?
Tommy is probably the first alien that escaped Area 51
The other aliens: “he said he’d be right back to bust us out after he stole that earthling’s skin... what the hell is taking him so long?”
Area 51 escaped from Tommy
His laugh is so geniunely funny and weird : "AhaHahhaH"
I’m pretty sure everyone laughs like that 😂
He laughs like that so much in The Room lol
Yeah its forced and fake
What a story Mark!
Tommy looks like he's come from the first version of the Matrix, were everything was perfect.
