    I love how he talks about Mark holding the bottle, explaining that it's a thing actors do when they're nervous, and that he personally would tell the actor to get rid of the bottle, then immediately afterward is the scene where he had to himself hold a bottle to get through the scene. Tommy is so great.

      Except he only kinda knows what he's talking about. Actors hold props to seem real and relatable, not just because theyre nervous. If a movie was made in 2018 where a character wasnt once nose deep in their phone, it'd be a hard sell. Props are very important in giving you something to do and Tommy is explaining it as if that's a bad thing...

    Picasso said about painting "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child." I feel like Tommy is actually one of the only examples of an outsider artist working as a director. His complete lack of knowledge when it comes to filmmaking is exactly what made The Room possible.

      Ste Mann lol I was exactly like you about 6 months ago. I know everything there is to know about Tommy and the making of this wonderful movie the room. I’d highly recommend you read Greg’s book the disaster artist. It goes into detail about everything concerning tommy before, during and after making the room. Be warned though there is a reason why tommy doesn’t like his book...it doesn’t paint a nice picture of tommy. He actually really pissed me off in the book

    I met Tommy in LA Comic Con about 6 years ago. He was selling merch and was hosting a panel that same day. He was honestly a super chill, really kind person when I met him. I took like 12 pictures with him and he kept asking if I wanted to take more, he was so cool! I hope to meet him again one day.

    Tommy said my thoughts exactly - Franco could have gone parody and made fun of Tommy, but I think the brilliant choice was keeping it in realism and laughing with him instead of at him. Otherwise it would just feel like bullying lol

    I will say that Tommy Wiseau has one of the best attitudes i've ever seen. Everyone makes fun of his project he was serious about and he is just happy that it made people happy.

    I always love how freely he talks about all the shenanigans in The Room. If I made a movie where I had to change crew "Not twice, but FOUR TIMES", I would hide myself for the rest of my life for fear that it would come up in converstation. I respect him a lot for this.

      And Sandy says he straight up directed the film. He saw it as a farce and directed actors to overexaggerate scenes, turning the horrible drama into the comedy we know and love today. I believe the man. He has an hour long interview on the UA-cam, search for it.
