Hi, I’m all the way from South Africa.🇿🇦Ever since I started following you on UA-cam and Instagram, my skin has improved so much. You are such an inspiration to many. I love the #60SecondsRule 💜💜💜
Your videos are finally teaching me how to treat my skin. I've used a facial oil for a while and double cleansed but I've never been told about the 60 second rule. Just started a niacinamide serum and a basic moisturizer. Next I guess I get to add toner. Thank you for teaching me all the things about my skin I didn't get to learn as a kid.
Since I have enough time on my hands rn (thanks Ms. Rona! 🙄), I've started to really take time with my oil cleanser. It was like a spa day. Definitely have to take some time to do thank more often. Thanks for that tip!!!
I can't wait to get back to doing this. When I look at my skin from around the time I was consistent with these steps it was so dewy and bouncy looking! Thank you!
As someone who used to try to follow a Korean 10 step routine with all the sheer masked and other things. This seems incredibly lax. And I lobe it my face really has changed since the sixth second rule and oil cleansing
We needed this video!!! Very sorry for bothering you often on Twitter but super grateful for steadily sharing the knowledge. I was too hype to find a black women of Caribbean descent that is knowledgeable about skin and open to sharing it all. God sent you 💕
I started double cleansing 2 days ago ( and your night time routine) and my skin is already sooo smooth, even and glowy! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge
Toner you can get Neutrogena's, I use NOW's grapeseed oil cleanser, my gel cleanser is Neutrogena hydroboost, and serums I used Ordinary and Urbanskin RX brightening serum.
I mean the best products are usually a bit more expensive because of the quality. You can always try the sample sizes and see if they work for you first
My secret: Buy what works & what is gentle, BUT be mindful of how much you use. I have some expensive skincare that I only have to buy twice a year. And sometimes the second purchase is a miniature sized version of a larger bottle. I realized that my face wasn’t big, and that my face care wasn’t for my hands 😉🥂 And once the skin on my face improved...man, I needed very little (if any) make up.
Ive just recently discovered your channel, and picked up the Heritage Store Rosewater facial toner that you recommended to incorporate between steps only a month ago. I don’t even have products for all the steps just yet, but let me just say 🗣 my skin looks better than it has in a long time!!! Yes, my bottle is halfway gone, but I just love it and I’m happy my skin does too. Thanks so much for your expertise!
Awesome share. And it let me know that I’ve been on the right track. A serum was a game changer. My skin appreciates all the love I’ve been giving her. Thank you. 🙌🏾❤️

omg thank you so much for this video!!! i was putting the farmacy honeymoon product on freshly cleansed skin and that’s it!!! it would burn a bit at first but i was following the directions on the box 😭 it said apply on clean skin 😭 i didn’t think of it as a serum
I didn't go to school for skincare, but as far as I know, if you do a nighttime routine, there is no need for a morning one. I've heard a lot of skincare professionals say that. It makes sense to me lol. I could be wrong though. I've never done a morning one because I do mine at night and have pretty good skin. Good luck! :)
@@diamondorta2285 it's not exactly true, you still need morning routine but it can be only 2-3 steps. i personally have dry skin so i only wash with water (unless i used oil at night then a gentle wash) then you can follow with a serum but ita not needed (i use niacinamide from the ordinary) then a light moisturiser and the most important part is a spf!! you always need to use spf even if you stay at home your skin will thank you
This was an excellent video. I will be incorporating this regimen. I have not been using toner nearly enough throughout my regimen and I had been applying oil free moisturizer after my oil moisturizer so I will reverse. Thank you for such amazing and informative content.
I’ve been using the dermalogica micro exfoliant for a few months, but now I know the right way to use it! I’ve been using it like a scrub and rubbing the grains on my face😔 thank you!
I would like a video where u discuss popular products for these steps... for example there are so many toners, idk which one to pick!!? And does Retinol rlly help with acne? Love the vids btw! ❤️
Yes, retinol and other retinoids really help with acne. Vitamin A has been studied for its acne fighting ability for decades. It was originally introduced as an anti-acne medication. The anti-aging benefits were an accidental discovery. That being said, everyone's skin is different and no product works overnight.
Edit: so it’s been a month i wrote the below: i’ll place edits below each paragraph to let you know how I got on. Yoooo so Since the corona, my skin has been worse than usual... I came across this video late last night. At this point I had already washed and moisturised my skin but I was sooo intrigued I did it again. This morning I’m looking in the mirror at my skin like WTF is going on here ...Woooww just one night but I see a difference. So let’s go. *EDIT: definitely saw a difference but I have been lazy lately to oil cleanse as I’m not wearing any makeup.... i think i would like to only oil cleanse when I’ve worn makeup going forward. I have dry skin with acne bumps that just bring out sebum/oil and I can’t understand why... worse since corona *EDIT: not so dry but still bumpy. But not as bumpy as before... i am starting to think this might be a hormonal issue. I will be getting a blood test soon. I went online and researched more about oil cleansing... I decided based on the higher linoleic to oleic fatty acid content, I would use evening primrose oil to oil cleanse.... luckily I had the tablet form which is a liquid capsule so decided to pop one of those... I massaged it into my skin dry (as This lady mentioned) and I did the whole 60 second thing BUT I also copied EXACTLY how slow and precise and gentle she was with her skin (I went and watched her previous oil cleansing video she suggested) but even if you don’t, just notice how gentle yet thorough she is and copy that I’m used to washing my face vigorously but I sat down today and just took my time. I then cleansed with a cleanser that doesn’t foam to much and added a bit of water each time to really lather it in. I used the simple facial gel with prebiotic (the packaging is blue) *EDIT: i still cleanse with this and use a silicone vibrating face bristle pad/brush i got from amazon. I still take my time too. After cleanse, I added one part apple cider vinegar to 2 parts water and added to a cotton pad as toner. I am trying to use as much natural products on my skin as I can ( although she patted the toner in which I think I will try next time as there are other toning steps where I can wipe if needs be) *EDIT I’ve stopped this. Only because people said it wasn’t that great. Also couldn’t be bothered to keep mixing a fresh batch of ACV water mix. Then, I exfoliated but I used the LIGHTEST exfoliate I have as I had done my exfoliating session the night before. *EDIT I exfoliate once a week with a charcoal scrub, usually on wednesdays, sometimes also Sundays But again, I used this gentle yet firm and thorough motion in my skin, paying attention to the hair line, under the neck, around the nose, under the eyes: I REALLY massaged my face with the product but with Love This also reminded me of the advice I was given some time ago which is to treat your face like baby skin I missed the next time step as I don’t have another toner (if anyone knows of another natural homemade toner I can make, let me know and not aloe Vera) *EDIT: I now use a 2 % salicyclic acid astringent, patting into my skin with a cotton pad especially on any bumps.. Missed the next mask and tone step (I had masked hours before) but next time I would do my homemade honey turmeric and cinnamon mask at this point, or a clay mask *EDIT I have stopped this for now just because I can’t be bothered... i now use manuka honey as a mask most nights. Went to serum: I used the ordinary hyaluronic acid on wet/damp skin and let it air dry... then I went in with my doctor organic light and bright skin tone moisturiser (only a little) *EDIT I don’t think my skin like hyaluronic acid... i feel it gives me little pus bumps. So stopped that and now use Niacinamide followed by 20% azelaic acid i got prescribed from the doctor. In the mornings, i use niacinamide, elizabeth arden vitamin c light oil followed by face sun cream. Careful not to use too much of elizabeth arden if your skin doesn’t like oil. So far as I don’t use too much, i see a glow. No oil after this step for me as I know my face doesn’t like too much heavy stuff on there * EDIT still the same no oil at night So the steps I think are important and IN THAT ORDER SHE GAVE but I also believe the gentle thorough motions she used to clean her skin really does contribute to her great skin and me looking in the mirror this morning in disbelief I also think an optimistic attitude helps: I didn’t just try for the sake of it: I BELIEVED it would work for me * EDIT I still think this works but i now think my issue is hormonal as I’m not seeing a complete clear up of the little bumps. Sorry this is long but I wanted to share with someone as she has shared with us... thank you so much... I’m really hopeful for this
THLP ermm i’d say my skin is dry to combination... i’m not usually very oily yet my skin cant stand too much heavy oil on it The mask i used is homemade turmeric, cinnamon and honey mask But for clay mask, i use this mask from ‘your good skin’ which had clay, vitamin c and i believe green tea (tbh i dont know if it does much but i love how it feels and the ingredients are great)
queen a ok so then that means you don’t agree with thia ladies steps of serum before moisturiser I added hyaluronic on damp skin if i didn’t mention that above, let that dry then moisturiser Are you saying this is incorrect The mask: turmeric for inflammation (many people have used this and found benefits and the anti inflammatory effects of turmeric are well documented) The honey aspect i’ve heard is great for skin also and the cinnamon i saw suggested in another video and so researched and that seems to be great too. Are you saying this mask isnt great? And if so why and what would you suggest?
This video is so incredibly helpful! It’s super informative, and the amount of detail and effort you always put into your videos is seriously appreciated. I have been so ignorant to the significance of toner in a routine but now i want to add it into my own!
thanks for this video, I was wondering about this routine! Curious about what you think about using niacinamide on the same nights that you use acids/exfoliants? I’ve read it to make it less effective
I’m kinda late but DONT use niacinamide the same nights you use acids. The ph of niacinamide is around 5-7 while the acid are a lot lower. So when used on your face at the same time it can alter the ph of the acid irritating your skin leaving it red. This applies for all aha, bha, and pha that are gonna stay on your skin. Unless you’re using a wash off exfoliant like the red one from the ordinary. you can apply niacinamide after waiting at least 30 min. I hope this helps.

Please do a video on your favorite hydrating toners!! I’m still learning about skin care and it would help so so much 🥰
felicianunezz she did
I’ve tried this and it works! My favorite aspect is that I’ve found it prevents pilling.
God sent you 💕
Been following this routine for a few months and my skin is thankful! Just need to see a morning routine now sis 👀
Delilah Collazo Which toner are you using? And what’s your skin type if you don’t mind sharing ☺️
Do you do this everyday? Or how often do you do this?
I love this yellow headwrap! 😍
I started double cleansing 2 days ago ( and your night time routine) and my skin is already sooo smooth, even and glowy! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge
This video has taught me soooo much about the importance of a good skincare routine is and how important it is to have a hydrating toner. Thank you!!!
I like how she closes her eyes when applying or drying ❤️
Why would her eyes be open
The hair is GIVINGGGG
Can you provide affordable options as well. Thinking drugstore preferably and under $100 total. Your current routine retails close to $300.
try the ordinary and inkey list products
Toner you can get Neutrogena's, I use NOW's grapeseed oil cleanser, my gel cleanser is Neutrogena hydroboost, and serums I used Ordinary and Urbanskin RX brightening serum.
I mean the best products are usually a bit more expensive because of the quality. You can always try the sample sizes and see if they work for you first
My secret: Buy what works & what is gentle, BUT be mindful of how much you use. I have some expensive skincare that I only have to buy twice a year. And sometimes the second purchase is a miniature sized version of a larger bottle.
I realized that my face wasn’t big, and that my face care wasn’t for my hands 😉🥂
And once the skin on my face improved...man, I needed very little (if any) make up.
Beautyand Positivity good tip!
Can we get a product list please? Thanks in advance.

Awesome share. And it let me know that I’ve been on the right track. A serum was a game changer. My skin appreciates all the love I’ve been giving her. Thank you. 🙌🏾❤️
Not to be the overly eager first commenter... but I’m genuinely mad excited for this
would loveeee a video on cleansers good for clogged pores ❤️ not even brands really but more so the right ingredients in a face wash to look for and avoid when dealing with large clogged pores
You're one of the most informative creators I follow! Thank you for saving my skin
omg thank you so much for this video!!! i was putting the farmacy honeymoon product on freshly cleansed skin and that’s it!!! it would burn a bit at first but i was following the directions on the box 😭 it said apply on clean skin 😭 i didn’t think of it as a serum
Can you do a skincare routine specific for the morning? I’d love to see it and I know you’ve said this one tailors more for the nighttime!
Good luck! :)
@@diamondorta2285 it's not exactly true, you still need morning routine but it can be only 2-3 steps. i personally have dry skin so i only wash with water (unless i used oil at night then a gentle wash) then you can follow with a serum but ita not needed (i use niacinamide from the ordinary) then a light
moisturiser and the most important part is a spf!! you always need to use spf even if you stay at home your skin will thank you
@@diamondorta2285 I wash morning and might just because I do morning workouts. Different for everyone
This routine WORKS! My face has literally transformed!! 🙌🏽♥️♥️
Wow, this was so well-explained and clear. A fantastic video - I'm really happy I found you!
This was an excellent video. I will be incorporating this regimen. I have not been using toner nearly enough throughout my regimen and I had been applying oil free moisturizer after my oil moisturizer so I will reverse. Thank you for such amazing and informative content.
sat down and oil cleansed while watching this video, 16 minutes and my face was feelin supple and plump 😌
I’ve been using the dermalogica micro exfoliant for a few months, but now I know the right way to use it! I’ve been using it like a scrub and rubbing the grains on my face😔 thank you!
I need some good mask recommendations to hydrate my dehydrated oily skin!
Etude overnight moisture mask is so moisturizing
made me use all my money on these skincare products and i'm not even mad. :) Loving her videos!
"It smells like celery juice"
Lol, that's a hella specific scent!
nancykerrigan she ain’t lying, it does!! Works good though. 😊
“i just don’t wanna smell like vegetables” hahaha i love her
Your video appeared in my YT feed. Great info but many of these products are not in my current budget. Thank you for all of the details!
thank you sm for this vid!! i was always confused about toning after every step
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! You got me...I'm hooked. Fan fo life. Keep up the AMAZING work. And, Thank You for the outstanding tips!
one day, when i'm not feeling lazy i will try toning after every step.
Your skin is flawless
Naya’s skin literally looked at me and said ... “Hyperpigmentation? Never heard of her” so damn flawless
Wow i was already doing this without the tone in between each step. Will try that for even greater results
She has a video about toners and a video about serums. Take a look through her channel videos.
Stephanie Sepulveda She suggested Heritage Stone rose water facial toner. It’s under $10 and really calming on the face.
Good idea
Thank you for such thorough advice
You have such a pretty feminine voice, weird comment but it’s so nice to listen to
Right?! Lol I have a deep voice compared to her 😑
Thank you for making this video! Your knowledge has truly changed my skin for the better 💖
Going to try the CeraVe my skin is sooooo dehydrated.
Tranique Johnson i love my cerave cream
the cerave night cream is amazing too. I wake up with my skin so soft!
I think steaming before exfoliating is more affective. It open the pores quickly to remove all the dirt. It's also very relaxing 😌
I really wished people told me in my 20s to take care of my neck and chest 🥴 I’m gonna need hella Botox
RKELLYSCOCO no
Brittney Huggins 😩💀
@RKELLYSCOCO 😂bum ass scammer, make an honest living
lol , right . I'm 27 & still feel late to the game
You are such a gifted teacher...new subbie here!
Can you use the cerave healing ointment if you have oily skin
Yes!!!! I'm an esty and do this too. When I was in school I used this method on clients. It makes all of the difference esp btw cleansing steps.
What do you think about Urban skin Rx products?
AfroBabyT I just bought their cleansing bar, I hope I like it 🤞🏽
I hope she does a video on this. Their products have such good reviews but seem so harsh ☹️
@@carolinarivera5114 I have the even tone cleansing bar and I love it! It doesn't feel drying but I wanna make sure it's good.
@@Akilahh I have the even tone cleansing bar and I love it...it doesn't make me feel dry but I want to know if it's good
I love it. It has definitely been helping with my dark spots. But I also use the ordinary products with it as well.
Have to try that Cerave Healing Ointment! Been suffering from the worst texture change.
Wow, this is awesome facial routine tutorial. I felt like I was in skin class. 😊
loved this ! thank you !
Really enjoyed this video! Thank you for posting. I’d like to hear your thoughts about the Urban Skin RX products.
Love your skin and hair 💕
I have dry skin with acne bumps that just bring out sebum/oil and I can’t understand why... worse since corona
*EDIT: not so dry but still bumpy.
I massaged it into my skin dry (as This lady mentioned) and I did the whole 60 second thing BUT I also copied EXACTLY how slow and precise and gentle she was with her skin (I went and watched her previous oil cleansing video she suggested) but even if you don’t, just notice how gentle yet thorough she is and copy that
I’m used to washing my face vigorously but I sat down today and just took my time.
I then cleansed with a cleanser that doesn’t foam to much and added a bit of water each time to really lather it in. I used the simple facial gel with prebiotic (the packaging is blue)
*EDIT: i still cleanse with this and use a silicone vibrating face bristle pad/brush i got from amazon. I still take my time too.
After cleanse, I added one part apple cider vinegar to 2 parts water and added to a cotton pad as toner. I am trying to use as much natural products on my skin as I can ( although she patted the toner in which I think I will try next time as there are other toning steps where I can wipe if needs be)
*EDIT I’ve stopped this. Only because people said it wasn’t that great. Also couldn’t be bothered to keep mixing a fresh batch of ACV water mix.
Then, I exfoliated but I used the LIGHTEST exfoliate I have as I had done my exfoliating session the night before.
*EDIT I exfoliate once a week with a charcoal scrub, usually on wednesdays, sometimes also Sundays
But again, I used this gentle yet firm and thorough motion in my skin, paying attention to the hair line, under the neck, around the nose, under the eyes: I REALLY massaged my face with the product but with Love
This also reminded me of the advice I was given some time ago which is to treat your face like baby skin
I missed the next time step as I don’t have another toner (if anyone knows of another natural homemade toner I can make, let me know and not aloe Vera)
*EDIT: I now use a 2 % salicyclic acid astringent, patting into my skin with a cotton pad especially on any bumps..
Missed the next mask and tone step (I had masked hours before) but next time I would do my homemade honey turmeric and cinnamon mask at this point, or a clay mask
*EDIT I have stopped this for now just because I can’t be bothered... i now use manuka honey as a mask most nights.
Went to serum: I used the ordinary hyaluronic acid on wet/damp skin and let it air dry... then I went in with my doctor organic light and bright skin tone moisturiser (only a little)
*EDIT I don’t think my skin like hyaluronic acid... i feel it gives me little pus bumps.
No oil after this step for me as I know my face doesn’t like too much heavy stuff on there
* EDIT still the same no oil at night
So the steps I think are important and IN THAT ORDER SHE GAVE but I also believe the gentle thorough motions she used to clean her skin really does contribute to her great skin and me looking in the mirror this morning in disbelief
I also think an optimistic attitude helps: I didn’t just try for the sake of it: I BELIEVED it would work for me
* EDIT I still think this works but i now think my issue is hormonal as I’m not seeing a complete clear up of the little bumps.
Sorry this is long but I wanted to share with someone as she has shared with us... thank you so much... I’m really hopeful for this
Thanks for your comment! It's actually really helpful for my skintype!
Ben Ola Thanks for sharing your routine. What is your skin type? What type of mask did you use?
THLP ermm i’d say my skin is dry to combination... i’m not usually very oily yet my skin cant stand too much heavy oil on it
The mask i used is homemade turmeric, cinnamon and honey mask
But for clay mask, i use this mask from ‘your good skin’ which had clay, vitamin c and i believe green tea (tbh i dont know if it does much but i love how it feels and the ingredients are great)
queen a but serums go before a moisturizer. so can you just add the HA
and a moisturizer together?
queen a ok so then that means you don’t agree with thia ladies steps of serum before moisturiser
I added hyaluronic on damp skin if i didn’t mention that above, let that dry then moisturiser
Are you saying this is incorrect
The mask: turmeric for inflammation (many people have used this and found benefits and the anti inflammatory effects of turmeric are well documented)
The honey aspect i’ve heard is great for skin also and the cinnamon i saw suggested in another video and so researched and that seems to be great too.
Are you saying this mask isnt great? And if so why and what would you suggest?
I loved this video sooooo much!!
Omg I love your knowledge and skincare routine!! I have been wrong this entire😳 😍😍
I’d love to know as well..
Me too🙋
I’m kinda late but DONT use niacinamide the same nights you use acids.
@@nicholass9088 thank you!!!
Kendall what are you doing over here? I just watched your video! Lol
I love your videos! I learn so much and I have seen major improvements for my skin.
