How to Throw Muay Thai SPEED Kicks (Same Leg Repeat)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 вер 2024
- Whether you were inspired by Saenchai, or just want to train like the fighters in Thailand, you're watching this video because you want to throw fast round kicks in repetition with the same leg. The 3 tips I have for this are:
1. Have a balanced pivot point (ball of the foot)
2. Don't hinge too much at the joints (ankle, knee, & hip)
3. Assist by swinging your arms

I know this is three years old but sometimes it's extremely effective lol
Looking crisp man! I love me some speed kicks 👊
Honestly, it’s like two anime’s coming together...accept its only for 1 second
Cool
Thanks my grandma stands no chance
My calves hurt just from looking at this
Weak
Be careful!! Make sure that you stretch them very well and give them enough rest to not tear them

Thanks Shane! We close with speed kicks during training and I always struggle. I appreciate the break down on technique.
Hey Shane give us a shadowboxing drill for kicks!!
thank you for the upload!
Yes this shit is hard but looks so cool.
Shane i am 13-0 in boxing thank for new techniques and helping me improve my skills
Nice I'm also undefeated👍

someone make a track on this intro beat please
This beat is my recital, I think it's very vital
Man, i am speechless. I have to thank you for this awesome explanation! I always wonder about why I have still troubles with this kick. We learned this with "jumping" a litte bit from the ground or the teacher told us shit about four years. I tried it out now on both sides with slow motion first and then as it stated to feel more comfortable a little bit faster. It works perfectly now!!!!! Thank you very much Instructor!
I struggle too. When I trained often at 38 to 41 I couldn't get it...quit training and resumed at 43 and STILL can't get it.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU LISTENED!
I always read the comments! I just need time to make sure I have the right answer 🙏
Was just watching another video of yours when this was uploaded! 🤣
Got your priorities in order, Joshua 😆👍
Ayy back to Ur roots! Muay Thai!!
Moey Kumsuz he didn’t start with Muay Thai though
I could of sworn that his "roots" are Taekwondo???? and amateur boxing skills.
Justanother fancy screenname started with Taekwondo then moved to Boxing and later Muay Thai
@@evanshively1294 didn't he do Muay Thai after TKD then injured his leg in his pro fight in Thailand then that's when he started Boxing?
@Even Shively He started off with tkd and then muay thai. Because of a foot injury, he delved into boxing.
TKD then Muay Thai then Boxing.
It’s called a BEYBLADE Shane!!!😂
Thanks a ton, Shane! I understood now what was I doing wrong. Will incorporate these changes the next time I am practicing on the heavy bag, again.
This is the hardest cardio I've ever done in my life as a fighter just rapid fire kicks.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I WANNA TRAIN AT EVOLVE MMA WITH YOU GUYS BUT I'M ENLISTING IN THE MILITARY AROUND THAT TIME NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

@Vitale Tufuga well, ur a prick.
@Vitale Tufuga what a gidget
I've really been struggling with this in class. Feel like my power kicks are great and my speed kicks letting me down. Excited to try this technique tomorrow. Thank you!
Hey Shane, I’ve been watching the channel for awhile now and I wanted to ask a quick question. Do you think Muay Thai and BJJ (No Gi) is a good combo for self defense and exercise?
The coolaid man Thanks for answering!😊
Very good combination, but I would suggest incorporating Krav Maga into the combo as well, that way you know how to disarm
thanks man, i always seem to gas after 50 of these kicks and couldnt figure out why. Now that youve shown it, ive been loading up all my kicks, ill be sure to stop the triple extension and all. Thanks for the help man
Pang Jack yeah. This makes it sooooooo much easier. I no longer fear my coach saying “100 right round 100 left round” lol
Thanks Shane, I'm the 4'11 chick from ur other comment sections and I decided to pick up muay thai, I'm 2-1 rn and having a lot of fun, thanks
Munkle _ what weight class do you fight at?
@Mal Theri nah probably strawweight
You should spar with mmashredded
Been good doing these with low and middle kicks, my coach tries to have me doing that with high kicks now, 30 times each leg. That's hell.
Man u a BAAAAAD DUUUUDE just for being able to do it at all. I can't.
When doing these speed kicks do we not rotate the hips much? So it's more just lifting the leg and the torso stays facing the wall?
The one thing I like about your videos is that you explain things so well. Even beginners won't have a difficult time following your advice.
Hey Shane does swimming help improve my endurance for a fight?
yes
Yes and it is safer than running too. Also better than cycling
Thank you very much Great warrior 🈲
0:01 I feel like you could make a song out of the sound lmao
No way Shane I was literally just watching one of your vids with Ryan Garcia as you uploaded this.
That was the same one I was watching!
Haha awesome, dudes!
Please make a video how to defend or counter attacl from this speed kicks
I got a boxing bag for my bday on the 28/4/19
You mean a heavy bag...
Happy birthday!
Shane. 栗原 it is the same thing
EET FUK thanks
Tf you have 120 subs with no vids?
Awesome video mate always wanted to know how
On that type of training you don't worry about your face being protected then? I usually keep my opposite arm to my face... But I feel that I'm loosing power by not moving both arms??
its not like you're going to do a 50 kicks streak on an actual fight, this drill is more about balance and creating strength on those muscles that help kicking
Hey Shane, love your videos. I was wondering if you could please make a video on how to fight and try and escape from the basic common positions on the ground such as Guilotine, Rear naked choke or even how to escape when mounted. Cheers
Same I wanna see too
@@a2kxgripy you can if you can't get your hips and shoulders to the floor and turn into them, but like in all fighting nothing is guaranteed.
Hello! Thanks for the video! any advice on pre-and-post exercises/stretches for having a stiff neck, upperback and having rolled-forward shoulders ? Thanks!
Your lats will pull your shoulders forward and down. Your chest pulls your shoulders inwards towards the centre of your body.
The best way to fix posture is to have good posture as often as possible throughout the day. Normally the only. Imbalances people have are their middle and lower traps and rhomboids and rear delts may need work.
Other than that is incredibly habit forming from that point.
It also helps to push off the same leg that lands back after the kick. Awesome advice Shane 👏🙏
This can overextend muscles in the calve and ankle, and over time will cause tendonitis. I wouldnt recommend it for this technique
Sanchai is living in this mans head rent free
Saenchai*
Looks similar to tkd in my opinion
it's a proper taekwondo kick. i though thai kicks are wider and more focused on power and less speed and height
make fighters abs workout part 2
Content is always great been following for years. Btw beard game strong💪. Shape it up and keep it
My man, appreciate that 🤘
Excellent as usual Coach. Best regards.
UGH. Thank you for this video. I hate going to KB practice and failing at this drill. I get random advice that primarily focuses on how I need to pivot my foot (and not how one should actually achieve that) - and this is the first place where someone's told me to think of center of mass over my pivot foot.
10/10. THANK.
Its like Dancin
Hey buddy, I want to buy a punchbag but don't know much about which one to choose, yours looks pretty cool. What's the reference of your model?
Great tips as usual Shane...apart from the forgetting to breathe part (in this video anyway) ☺️

Hey shane. How could i condition my shins without a heavybag? I usually wrap my shins with cloth and kick at a wall for like 50 times but i would rather get a heavybag but they too damn expensive

I say get a heavy bag. Its something thats really worth buying if you actually want to take martial arts seriously.
Can you do a video on different places on the leg to kick, eg why you would calf kick or thigh kick
When you were talking about the dreidel if you had passed out I'd still trust your advice🥴
Toe-bitch?? Haha pmsl sorry shane couldnt resist love your channel as im learning muay thai now and always take your advice big respect man
Thank you man!
This helps alot!
Great video!
Respect from Hungary!
I think one’s time would be better spent doing fight specific drills. You want to be training specific techniques to set your opponent up using feints and fakes, as well as training defense. None of that is being done in this exercise. It might have some benefit as a conditioning tool or for the development of speed, but one can get that from doing fight specific drills. How are you helping yourself in a fight kicking the guy in the same place with the same leg with your hands down? That certainly is not an effective strategy.
Been trying to learn this for a bit and it finally hit me, UA-cam it genius. Can’t wait to try this
Hey Shane .
I am planning to buy a bag, but I have no partner to work with.
I see in your video, that you fixed the bag down so no one need to hold it for you.
Is there a specific name for this kind of bag or you can fix any bag down as well ?
Look at Taekwondo kicking speed
You are very slow
I am triggered. I wish I could have come to the training camp.
I didn’t know Shane was the real karate kid… Wax on style lol
I wish u were my coach
How about some shadowboxing drills to do with a friend. Not necessarily hurting each other. But giving an idea of a situation. Besides, everyone will encounter cuts and bruises during a game. Any ideas Shane?
@Follow the howl Says who?
Shane I’m from Ireland and I’m a muay Thai practitioner can I come to Singapore even tho i m from Ireland
That I you I got my frist class today wont be doing this mistake
Haha that rithym at the beginning was so on point I could make a beat out of it
I tire out quick as fuck from these bc I use terrible technique and use too much power
Yoooo, you gotta look out for my boy Troy Worthen over at Evolve MMA! 😁
Hey Shane, why does my left hip (I'm southpaw so my power side) end up hurting after I kick a ton? Is it my flexibility? Or am I throwing wrong? If you can help with my limited explanation I'd really appreciate it. Feel free to adress it in a video I watch em all so I'll see it. Thank you in advance!
Hey man! Yeah, kinda hard without seeing how you throw it. Are you warming up before hand and stretching afterwards? Try slowing it down, and throw the kick in slow motion. If there is any point that agitates your hip, that could identify the problem. Otherwise it sounds like a mobility issue, to which I'd advice foam rolling and stretching. Try taking a tennis or lacrosse ball and rolling out your butt/hip/low back. Hope this helps 👍
the beginning; I done the exact same attack
Man said only lations know how to say Topic??????
This is amazing , thank you so much
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I hope i can master the technique as soon as possible.
It's like walking for him
What about your face when you kick in Muay Thai
Gotta be a hell of a leg & core workout.
This is my favorite skill to learn/practice
Can we just put the bag in this position and do the upper cut to the face?
It's got a good beat and is easy to dance to. I'll give it a 10 Dick.
Hey shane what we can fill in our punching bag please make video
Shredded up t-shirts, towels, and other torn cotton. I also have 4 small sand bags in the very center of my bag, with the cotton surrounding them 👍
Yo the start kinda looks like a dance and the kicks are giving it a beat

Are coaches and trainers necessary even if you are good boxer? Can I just join gym without any coaches and become a heavyweight champion cause i am in a low budget
punit choudhary Sorry to say friend but the likely hood of you ever becoming a champion with pure will power and self training is.. very low and usually the stuff of movies. Not to say you couldn’t become efficient in defending yourself or becoming quick and precise in striking. I mean, the creators of martial arts from thousands of years ago made this shit up as the went along. But in terms of modern day hand to hand combat professionally? It doesn’t work. You need a trainer. But there are plenty of low budget gyms with trainers out there, willing to teach you the basics of anything you want. Or of course, online training. Making friends in the MMA community also helps. Then you can start training and learning from your friends, in essence, for free. Using their training and experience to help build on your own. I started very young and with what little budget my mother had, and I now volunteer to teach at my buddies gym. Because of my unofficial certificates in form fighting, like karate, and my age, 18, I only teach younger children. But I love it nonetheless.
@@JeremiahWatkins-zv8bn So can you tell me what job should i do till i become boxer? I will start with almost no money, maybe I will separate from my family for boxing, I know it's not an good idea but anything for dream. How much will it cost with all trainers? tell me a job suitable with boxing and which would not be stressful, and actually i am very educated and i always get 90 % and above in all exams, so should i take an 9-5 job or will it be stressful? i know it depends upon the job but maybe 9-5 job will be much time consuming and it will become worse if I trained for boxing too right? And I am 15 by the way.
Punit Choudhary Well, I dont think any dream should pull you away from your family. They’re not only a financial support but also an important emotional outlet as well. I had dreams of becoming a professional fighter when I was younger too, but I advice you to do a little more research into the life of professional fighters. It’s not just about training. it’s about proper diet, proper health, etc. I’m a med student and I work as a waiter making about $25/hr on a good day. I think at 15-16 you should be looking for jobs like waiting tables, but look at busy restaurants in your home town. More people equals more work but it also means more tips which means more money. My buddy I mentioned is a 3rd degree black belt in karate as well as a black belt in Taekwondo and a brown belt in jiu-jitsu. I believe he does private sessions for about 25 an hour. That’s what most gyms will do, in my town that is, that are good reputable and quality gyms. But I seriously suggest you consider your education and family before you choose fighting as your future source of income. Never fail at following your dreams but also balance the consequences. Pros and cons to each. Balancing a job, school, and also a social life while training is hard but it’s doable, for me at least. But I will also prioritize my job, family, and education over martial arts.
