Does anyone know whether this is, as it seems to me (having never handled or even seen one in the 'flesh') the PX-4 Storm is a polymer version of the older Beretta Cougar 8000...? I loved that gun and still own the compact, my only non competition pistol. I wondered how close the PX-4 Storm is to the Cougar 8000FL.
I have watched this and the part 1 videos multiple times. I've also watch a lot of other videos about guns that are similar to this one and I have decided that the PX4 Storm Compact is going to be my first semiautomatic pistol. Thank you so much for being so thorough.
I’ve owned the full size version PX4 Storm 9mm for 9 years or more. It is by far the softest shooting gun and most reliable we’ve ever shot ! Over 2500 hundred rounds , with only 2 ejection issues in the first 300 rounds , none there after. And recently I was debating between the Sig 365 / Lx or The PX4 compact/ carry. I believe I’ll be Sticking with the OG Gun manufacturer Beretta! Great video thank you.
Ditto. The full size PX4 9mm G model is my most soft shooting, accurate handgun I own. I can shoot 1 inch groups with it at 20 yards. I cannot do that with any of my other handguns. I have the comp trigger group, trigger bar, hammer spring upgrades and they all make a hell of difference. I will never part with my PX4.
I’ve owned a lot of guns including this one in .40 cal. Which I sold 10 years ago. I just went full circle and bought another one in 9mm. My Glocks are up for sale. I love everything about the PX4. Got the full size too. Awesome guns.
I have Trijicon HD sights on a few pistols, and the sights shot ridiculously high on my Glock 19 and Beretta 92A1. I called Trijicon and they told me to send them the slides with a note detailing the distance they were shot at and amount of error. Got them back in about 3 weeks and now both pistols shoot to point of aim. So, they do have other sight height options available at the factory, and they're fantastic to work with!
Knowing this is an old review (still great). For anybody trying to solve the sights, I can highly recommend the LPA sights. They have a couple of options, including sights with fiber optics with rear adjustment. My choice is the LPA SPR33X47F.
I carry a PX4 Subcompact in 40 S&W. I love this little pistol. It is a bit snappy in the 40cal, but so what. It is a little smaller than the compact but I don't have huge hands so it fits me well. I carry this gun Mon - Fri every day
Your DA/SA pistol videos are some of my favorites. I would add that a person could also find a PX4 Compact in the Inox (stainless steel) finish which doesn't seem to have the same finish quality issues as the Bruniton finish, although for more $. I have both and prefer the Inox. My next project is to get the orange Ameriglo front sights on both of my PX4's. I've already converted both to G models.
Dakota, I picked it up a couple of months ago. Absolutely beautiful pistol. That being said, I haven't had the opportunity to get to the outdoor range yet so I haven't shot it. I have no doubt that it will be reliable though considering the reputation of the PX4 storm. The ergonomics of the pistol are great.
Great follow up review I appreciate the fact that you take the time to accuracy test several different loads several times each. I also just checked Truglo's sight and they make a front sight option in both the TFX a d TFX pro which will give you tritium and fiber optic capabilities. I use the TFX on all my pistols and will never stray from them for now on.
+Edwin Garcia I've seen the TFX. I would much prefer a red FO since that's what I'm going to on all my other handguns. Also, the TFX for the PX4 is technically only made for the full size. The sight base is not wide enough to cover the relief cut under the front sight on the Compact's slide. Mostly cosmetic, but still not ideal.
I love my Compact PX4, added the stealth levers and Talon grips. As for the finish I sent the pistol to Robar for their NP3 finish which IMO is one of the finest, most durable finishes available. I looked the the Langdon Compact Carry at the NRA convention and was impressed by it's action and really good sights. The grey Cerakote looks good but I don't think it will wear any better than the factory Bruniton.
I always wanted a full size PX4. No real idea why, just something about it. It caught my eye when I was first getting into guns. Also been considering getting a Beretta 92
Great review! I got to shoot a friend's PX4 Storm in 40 the other day... you are absolutely right about the slick grips. It was a hot day and I had to grip way harder than I do with my XDM just to make sure I didn't drop the thing! haha. The 40 cal doesn't help with grip since its much snappier.
I have run into the same issues with holsters on my full size. So I have had 3 made by local companies and have been quite satisfied. I did the g conversion and low profile levers. I'm just searching for the sights I want and will call it a day.
When I first saw this review I was looking for a concealable da/sa pistol but hadn't heard of the px4. I tried one out and I've been really happy carrying it everyday. It Loves to eat Lucky Gunner 9s!
When I got my PX4, I had hoped to install a set of XS Big Dot sights. Unfortunately XS makes them for the full size & subcompact models. I like that big front sight. Instead, I went with the Trijicon HD sights. I'm satisfied with the accuracy at self defense ranges - 2-3 inch groups @ 7yds. The front sight isn't as big as the XS sights. but its bigger than original & the orange really helps.
Great video, as always. I think I'm going to wait on the Compact Carry version before I give this platform a try. It looks like it could really have some potential...
All right! The decision has been made! I'm heading to my LGS tomorrow to get the Inox version of this gun! I can't thank you enough for this series. It seemed perfectly timed with my own reservations about the safety of carrying/training with a striker fired pistol in the appendix position. Your videos are among the most well done on UA-cam and your series has been very educational. I think I've now read/watched everything Ernest Langdon has posted online since you mentioned him and feel confident that my transition to DA/SA will be a smooth one with both of your advice. Thanks agian!
@@romans6two338 Mine had problems over the three years that I carried it. I had to send it back to Beretta twice for repairs. It then started having recurrent weird malfunctions that I couldn’t explain so I ditched it. I tried other DA/SA guns from Sig, HK, and CZ but none of them were right. The CZ P-07 came the closest. Also, my wife never could get used to the DA trigger. The trigger reach was just too much for her. My wife and I both have Glocks with TDG Striker Control Devices now (Langdon Tactical now makes these devices). I really did like the Px4. It’s incredibly fast for for it’s size and weight. I just wish Beretta would’ve been more helpful to keep mine running.
Its been a minute since I watched this two part series.. so forgive me if you mentioned this: Just a heads up, for anyone that might purchase the Compact Carry Langdon pistol. Be sure you put your med size back strap on before starting the Talon Grip install :) The gun ships with the small/slim back strap installed.
I had one in FDE. Had nothing but problems with the front sight coming loose. I finally sold it when Beretta staked the sight. I loved the pistol and never had a malfunction of any kind. But it was a short lived pistol in my collection.
I know this is an older video but I just got the sub compact version of this. I also have a Canik Sub Compact TP9 and the holster that came with it fits the PX4 sub compact like it was made for it. It actually seems the fit the Beretta better than the TP9 it was made for.
I've skulked around your videos and "lab tests" on the Lucky Gunner site for quite awhile now. I normally do not comment on youtube vids but I would like to say I share almost the exact same thought process as you lol... From your take on the Beretta 1301 (and shotguns for home defense in general) to the acquisition and practice of using DA/SA as an appendix carry piece. I've tried several and there aren't a plethora of them available... Just traded the P30sk to a Walther p99c AS which I have to say, is my favorite so far. You have enough on your table as is I'm sure, but if you ever get the opportunity to try one I would recommend it. I sincerely hope the "community" recognizes there is still a need for a good DA/SA gun, especially in the carry variety. Thank You for the very informative and non-bias vids.
Great review on this gun. I've shot it at the range and fell in love with it. I've been waiting for the new Compact Carry to be released before picking one up, has everything done to it that I'd want to do on my own. Latest I've heard was some time in October so I've got my fingers crossed. Anyways, thanks for your reviews I always find them well done, thought out and full of good info. Happy shooting!
Not yet. Beretta sold out of the first batch before they sent any out for reviews. But I've handled a couple and they're nearly identical to how I have mine set up.
I contacted Trijicon about the HD sight concerns, as I just ordered one. If the front site dot is placed at target center, impact will be high by 1.3 inches (consistent with your report on inaccuracy). The point of impact must be placed at the top of the site. Trijicon reports that by aligning the top of the sights, sight dots, and rear U-notch has found to provide faster combative hits at distances less than 20 yards.
Great video on the F to G conversion!! That makes me wonder about buying the special Carry edition, but I probably will get it anyway. I don't know why the PX4 is so obscure. I was trying to get hands on a Grand Power, also, but all I get are "We just sold the last one, but we will order it for you, pay us now, and if you don't like it, there is a 40% restocking fee." That place is getting really old, really fast. Best prices in town, but nothing is in stock, unless it's a Glock. Beretta's pistol parts are priced very fairly. Grips for my 3032 were $7, after MPro 7 solvent melted the factory originals. That stuff will also melt the black plastic grips off model 950s, 21As, 92s, 84s, 86s, etc. I'd have been livid had the FS86B's grips been damaged. That FS86 .380 tip up is a rare little gun, and it is really super great for people with arthritic hands, who cannot rack a slide. I wish Beretta would make a tip up 9mm Para for people with bad hands. The 9mm Kurz is still good enough in most situations. I put mom into a .327 Fed Mag revolver with an easy trigger pull, and .327 has better knockdown power than a .40 S&W. Everything in the house is loaded and chambered anyway.
I would love to hear your opinion on the CZ 75 P-01! I loved the beretta until I picked up the CZ! I think you would love them. They are by far my favorite DA/SA!
Really good vids you are putting out. IMO the quality doesn't justify the price. Ive seen splitting mauls with nicer finishes. I hate it when manufacturers come out with sub quality products and then fix them and sell it as a new "custom shop" gun when they should just be re releasing the original version as a better product.
Great points. I am tryi g to get away from 3 dot sights myself. I notice the Hellcat has a u notch rear and fiberoptic front. Seems to pick up quickly in general handling. Have not had a chance to shoot one. I am an XD fan, so they make sense to me. I like DA guns (big Sig fan, used my 229 as a duty gun for 20 yrs), so the PX4 and the enhanced 92G interest me a lot.
3:15 it was shooting high so you filed the front sight? This is the opposite of what you should do. Making the front sight higher or making the rear sight lower is the correct adjustment.
You may want to mention the issues the Px4 suffered from. Maryland State Police adopted it early and had issues with magazines falling apart and the polymer feedramp being chewed up by JHP's. I am unaware of any fixes for these issues but MSP began issuing the Glock 22 shortly afterwards. Just a heads up.
Huh? I've put probably 2000 rounds through my full size and haven't seen anything close to that type of problem. Actually, I haven't had _any_ problems.
I occasionally put JHP through but it's mostly target ammunition. Are you saying this police department trained solely with JHPs? Sounds expensive and impractical.
I just looked at one for quite a while at my local gun shop. I may pick it up tomorrow morning and sell my ATI OFFICER 1911. This gun feels as good as the 1911 and the 150,000 rd test that had no part failures is impressive. As far as the finish..most guns are over rated in that dept. My answer? The same thing I did to my LC9. Remove the finish and spend some time and elbow grease with the appropriate paper and polish to get the slide and barrel assembly to a mirror finish. Problem solved. It's satisfying to do and looks good in my and others opinion. Good info on this gun. Helps my decision making easier.
I just picked up the new Compact Carry, I just wonder how durable the Cerakote finish will be, we all know how the Bruniton wears easily. I solved the wear problem on my standard PX4 Compact by sending the pistol to Robar for their excellent NP3 (Norton Special) finish which over the years I'm of the opinion that this is the most durable finish ever. Looking forward to your review of the Compact Carry. I see you can order one directly from Robar with the NP3 finish already applied.
Slide de-cocker digs into the hand when racking at speed, but I am able to work with it. Gun is utterly reliable and accurate @ over 10,000 rounds. Your mods are very similar to my own. I'm interested in seeing your opinion on CZ75 D compact PCR (a future purchase idea for myself). I like these types of actions for AIWB, just seems wiser to me which more people are also concluding.
You can actually use the decocker to rack the slide for one handed manipulation. also holding the the decocker down on the g model makes it extremely safe to reholster.
Lucky Gunner... I can't wait to see your complete review of the Compact Carry! :) I totally love my PX4 Inox 9mm, so now I'm in the market for the Compact, and going back-n-forth on whether to pony up for the CC, or just modify the compact. I did add the Talons and swap to the D-spring... I could not believe the difference! What an awesome shooter!!!! Thanks for the great videos/reviews & insight! :) Have made your decision for an EDC? You were still considering some other options, during this time.
Langdon Tactical sells both the Full-sized and Compact Carry that they have customized beyond what Beretta has done for the compact carry model... Langdon Tactical also will perform the same upgrades to those Px4 Storms not Langdonized!
I own a PX4 Storm since 2014 and i love it. However getting aftermarket upgrades for it is a hassle, specialy when you live in Europe! Luckly i have a friend in the US who made me custom kydex holster and some trijicon sights. Now i just need convert my type F to a type G.
@han0509 Although extremely dificult civilians are allowed guns for self defence, but only in 7,65 or .32 caliber. Military and law enforcement are allowed 9mm and above.
Indeed! Using phospho-luminescent green paint on mine. Px4 compact carry bright ameriglo front is good but too wide for me passed 20yds out to 50 yds. Thx
Great Video as always! Do you have any experience with the Sig SP2022? It is now my EDC carry gun, after a long and exhausting search to replace my G26 with a DA/SA carry gun. I got a great deal on one in FDE with night sights and 2 magazines. The only changes I've made to it have been replacing the extended pinky-grip mag base plate with factory flush fit ones and installing a factory Sig short reach trigger. Ergonomics and texturing are spot on. Holster options were limited so I purchased a custom IWB holster from Vedder Holsters, they are a great company. The SP2022 is definitely an outstanding and highly under rated gun!
BZ! Second part even better than first part... Please keep doing more videos with your updates. Are you going to try/test another SADA ? How about any CZ... Thank you again.
Any comparison with the size and shoot-ability of the compact vs subcompact. I have a S&W shield but would like to switch to DA/SA and thought the sub-compact might be more comparable to the shield. However, waiting for the compact carry seems like a good option too?
Chris, did you end up getting the carry version? If so, how is it? Its on my list to possibly replace the G43 and G19 before that. I started with Beretta M9 in the Marines, then Glock as a LEO. I feel like Im maturing as a shooter and want to return to DA/sa. Are you able to conceal the storm well? G19 seems to be the smallest when compared to hammer fired with similar round count mags.
I like the PX4, but it's too much of a pain to take out the firing pin for cleaning so for that reason I'll stick with my old school Ruger P95 as my DA/SA option because that slide comes apart super easy for cleaning. You just pop out the extractor and everything else comes out after that. The gun weighs basically the same as the PX4 too.
+Prepare2Survive How much shooting are you doing? 3600 rounds and I've cleaned the PX4 maybe 3 times, and that didn't involve removing the firing pin. Just keep it lubed and move on.
Lucky Gunner Ammo I cast my own lead bullets that I powder coat and I have a progressive press that I reload about a dozen different calibers with and I shoot every weekend on both Saturday and Sunday, so I guess I'm shooting over 5000 rds per year in my Ruger P95, but that's not the point I was trying to make when it comes to keeping the firing pin clean. I realize a hammer fired gun can get very dirty inside that channel and still function fine, but I still prefer to do a thorough cleaning once in a while as long as the gun doesn't have a firing pin that's hard to take out. That's why I like Glocks, 1911s and the P series Rugers because the slides on those guns come apart very easy. Beretta is a great company and the PX4 is a great pistol, but after watching a slide disassembly video on youtube for the PX4 I'll have to pass. It's literally over 10 times more work than a Glock, 1911 or P95. When your gun collection starts to get large and you start to shoot a lot you kinda want guns that are easier to clean and maintain. At least that's the way I think.
There are a few popular methods on the Beretta Forum that I have seen. Of course, it should be noted that a deep cleaning of the firing pin channel just isn't something that is needed with the design. Ernest Langdon has spent significant amounts of time with it, and I don't believe he does anything special in that regard. That being said, a number of people keep the firing pin channel clean by spraying gun scrubber into the channel and then using compressed air to blow out any remaining excess solvent. The firing pin block, extractor area, open hammer area, and the underside of the firing pin block all provide a means for the solvent to exit the channel. The underside of the firing pin block is near an open cutout in the slide that exposes the firing pin channel and allows you to spray or insert cleaner into the firing pin channel without taking the firing pin out. You can also direct compressed air through this cutout to clean out excess gunk. Really, any non-greasy, clean evaporating, non-water-based solvent will serve the same purpose. I use a variety of mineral spirits known as Breakthrough Clean Solvent that does the job nicely. Run such a solvent into the channel through the cutout and through the firing pin hole in the breech face, and then blow it out of there after giving it time to work on any grime that might be in there. It doesn't really get that dirty in there.
Beretta has been selling them faster than they can import new ones, so there haven't been any extras to send out for reviews. I have heard good things about it, though.
I do enjoy mine, but for an odd reason. Its a pretty good sized gun but when carried appendix it dissapears pretty good. Got one in 40sw, it was cheap (400 bucks) but its a fun shooter.
Why do so many modify their guns from the F-style safety/decocker to the G decocker-only? If I was in a scuffle and someone got ahold of my gun, I'd prefer that they had no idea how to shoot it because the safety was still activated. See Masaad Ayoob's recent video for the advantage this would give (a 15-second advantage, and those were with old S&W DAs which were much easier to figure out than the PX4 F). And if you don't think you're at risk of having your gun taken from you in a street encounter then you're dreaming. An extra 15 seconds (or longer) to either fight back or to run is huge.
Nice video, Chris! I'm still feeling like a Glock 43 might be my best route to go for CCW, but you gave me something to think about. I realize the G43 and PX4C are two very different animals. Your videos are always well done and much appreciated! By the way, how's your G43 running these days?
+Lagotto Operator Thanks! I haven't shot or carried the G43 since I wrapped up that review. I'm told the newer ones have a much better trigger from the factory, and I hope that's true. It's a nice little backup/low profile gun, but if it were going to be my only carry gun, I'd feel much better equipped with the G26 - much easier to control and greater ammo capacity.
I liked the video because you do a great job presenting the material. However, I do not like this gun, I could not get used to the snappy recoil and the wired feeling of the second shot follow up. I like shooting the 92, but this one is a no for me. Thanks again for your efforts to bring such good content.
+Kyle Ryerson The Compact Carry is still not out. They are being built in Italy right now and apparently Beretta Italy (and the rest of the country) takes the whole month of August off. So maybe Sept or Oct.
nice that you've found your own niche woth hammer fired pistols. less and less people people carry them with great options in striker fired Guns like the Glock.
I just looked online, gunbroker, list of guns, gun genie, buds gun shop, and even Beretta's website...... No info on The Beretta PX4 Compact Carry. Did Beretta cancel the production of this pistol?
+badjujuR6 It's not out yet. There have been some production delays due to issues with the sights. They are working on it and should be available soon.
A LGS near me has the px4 compacts on sale for $409.95. Wild West Guns and Gold. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just thought I would pass on a good deal. How would you compare this Beretta to the HK P30 V3? Thanks.
Nice price. I haven't spent a whole lot of time with the P30. I'm not crazy about the paddle mag release, and the HK trigger leaves much to be desired. They're nice guns, reliable and well made, but not for me.
Lucky Gunner Ammo did you use the rubberized or granulated texture from Talon? I am thinking of going with the granulated on my Px4 SubCompact for durability, but was looking for another perspective since I haven't used Talon before. That gun gets real slippery on a mildly temperate day at the range! Thanks guys!
I just bought a PX4 Storm compact and I was wondering how did you go about removing the slide catch on the right side of the gun? I only need the the left slide release. Please help
Trying to decide between the PX4 Compact Carry and a Glock 19 for a new carry gun. Any suggestions on choosing between the two? I want to start carrying AIWB so the PX4 is appealing from a safe re-holstering standpoint. But there are so many more options for the G19 from holster support (love the G-Code INCOG). Sadly, can't have both guns.
They're completely different guns. Let's start with the biggest difference -- the Glock is DAO and the PX4 is DA/SA. You need to make sure you like DA/SA before you pick the PX4. Also, the safety takes time to operate, and in the case of the PX4 it's positioned pretty high up. This is probably why you see a lot of reviewers converting it to a decocker only (or you could just manually switch the safety off before holstering). In my case, I'm not likely to get into a life or death self defense scenario in my entire lifetime. I happen to like DA/SA and like the safety even though I lose a significant amount of time manipulating the safety on a draw. Just a personal preference.
Daniel Harter px4 compact carry still isn't out yet but the 19 (to me) is a lil big for carry. its a great gun if its your only one though. and I hate glock...
A J Same here. Glocks have poorly supported chambers and use polygonal barrels instead of traditional rifling. That's bad for hand loads. I guess that's not a problem for some people but reloading is a hobby of mine.
I'm a big PX4 fan so glad to see someone discussing it publicly
Loved your review on the PX4. Fair review and I converted mine to a G model from your video.
Same here and I plan to do the same.

+H.T.V. Blu It has a rotating barrel like the Cougar but otherwise it's a completely different design.
Lucky Gunner Ammo OK, thanks for answering.

Wow, I'd have thought i was the only person who actually likes the looks of this gun
Its like a gun from a movie set 100 years in the future.
You do a great job on these reviews! Very detailed and informative, I' am impressed with your Firearm knowledge and expertise!
Two and half years later is Beretta PX4 still your carry gun?
I think he's carrying a LTT Beretta if I remember correctly.
Will be picking my Beretta/Langdon PX4 compact carry next week.
WHO CARES , JOHN ?!
+Dareis Nogod I care. Congratulations, John! Let us know how it shoots.
John Faggello You pick it up yet? I just got a fullsized about 2 weeks ago. Hands down one of the best DA/SA handguns I've ever purchased.

The sight base is not wide enough to cover the relief cut under the front sight on the Compact's slide. Mostly cosmetic, but still not ideal.
Good review, you might consider an update to this video as Beretta now offers plenty of modifications to the px4 including sights
Perhaps Trijicon reworked their night sights. I just had them installed and I shot as well or better at the range.
I love my PX4 Storm it’s my second favorite EDC gun..

The front sight isn't as big as the XS sights. but its bigger than original & the orange really helps.
gtracer66 You sure the full size ones wont work on the compact? They are nearly the same gun
Excellent review of another pistol from Beretta, one of the best firearm manufacturer.
Great job on this review.....still worth a buy and a great product. Look forward to your review. Excellent work on the review.
Great video, as always. I think I'm going to wait on the Compact Carry version before I give this platform a try. It looks like it could really have some potential...
I have to say that I am a huge fan of Beretta. I love my 92s! Wilson Combat upgrades made a big difference.
+Richard B Awesome, hope the PX4 works out for you!
Now 7 years into the future were you happy with the PX4 and do you still own/carry it?
Thanks for mentioning this, buetang.
I have been waiting for the Px4 compact carry to come to market since Jan 21 (Shot Show 2016).
I might be weird but I actually like the look of the grips and the wear. my Nano actually has the talons and some good wear and I love it.
08:20 Paul? Is that you?
I was on another tab and was terribly confused for a second.
Love your reviews. Very informative and objective. Thanks
Happy shooting!
you might want to try the PX4 Compact Carry. Lighter trigger pull, blacked out sights, talon grips, easier racking slide. Great gun.
7:17
yeah I made that comment before I saw the ending, have you tried it tho?
Paul Harrell theme at 8:19? You be the judge.
Can't wait to see the compact carry!
I have Trijicon night sights on my PX4, never had an issue with point of aim
I would love to hear your opinion on the CZ 75 P-01! I loved the beretta until I picked up the CZ! I think you would love them. They are by far my favorite DA/SA!
Really good vids you are putting out.
IMO the quality doesn't justify the price. Ive seen splitting mauls with nicer finishes.
I hate it when manufacturers come out with sub quality products and then fix them and sell it as a new "custom shop" gun when they should just be re releasing the original version as a better product.
Excellent review of the Storm. Do you have any plans to review the PX4 Storm SubCompact?
I just about clicked off when you started to mention they are making a better version. Right on then, I will still take a look. Thanks again
Great work. I am looking forward to your review on a Compact Carry. I already have an LTT 92 Compact with the treater mods.outstanding
These where shot with strictly JHP. Not just FMJ.
I occasionally put JHP through but it's mostly target ammunition. Are you saying this police department trained solely with JHPs? Sounds expensive and impractical.
The Langdon Compact Carry comes with Ameriglo sights. They are about $50 cheaper than Trijicon HD sights on Amazon. Have you tried them?
The ending music is the same that usually ends Paul Harrel's videos. Anyone knows it's name or which band made it?
Target Practice - Riot
Agrip from Brooks Tactical for grip improvement, 40s&w Underwood ammo teamed with a KELTEC sub2000 in same 40s&w using beretta clips🤗
Please review the Beretta px4 compact carry !
+mag318 Cerakote won't hold up anything like the NP3, but will likely be far more durable than the Bruniton.
The stippling on my Taurus G2 and my Sig P320C are awesome. Instead Beretta goes with an aftermarket stick on that will wear out?
Slide de-cocker digs into the hand when racking at speed, but I am able to work with it. Gun is utterly reliable and accurate @ over 10,000 rounds. Your mods are very similar to my own. I'm interested in seeing your opinion on CZ75 D compact PCR (a future purchase idea for myself). I like these types of actions for AIWB, just seems wiser to me which more people are also concluding.
You can actually use the decocker to rack the slide for one handed manipulation.
also holding the the decocker down on the g model makes it extremely safe to reholster.
Agreed. Bonus features we users discover along the way. I have switched my decocker to the M9 levers though. Lower profile and not pointy.
All pistols are safe to reholster.
Have you gotten ahold of the compact carry? Looking forward to your thoughts.
+Philip Craig They're shipping very soon, but not yet.
Have made your decision for an EDC? You were still considering some other options, during this time.
Langdon Tactical sells both the Full-sized and Compact Carry that they have customized beyond what Beretta has done for the compact carry model... Langdon Tactical also will perform the same upgrades to those Px4 Storms not Langdonized!
Nice Paul Harrel tune at the end!
I own a PX4 Storm since 2014 and i love it. However getting aftermarket upgrades for it is a hassle, specialy when you live in Europe! Luckly i have a friend in the US who made me custom kydex holster and some trijicon sights. Now i just need convert my type F to a type G.
@han0509 Yes.
@han0509 Although extremely dificult civilians are allowed guns for self defence, but only in 7,65 or .32 caliber. Military and law enforcement are allowed 9mm and above.
Why do you black out the rear sights? Seems to me that in a low light situation it would be difficult to get the front sight properly aligned.
Dawson Precision does a front fiber optic that looks great and is accurate.
Did dawson do one for you custom?
@Kite Okoh yes but unfortunately I called them recently and they no longer are doing them for PX4s :(
+juan J Galan I'm testing some other pistols that I'll report on later. CZ is on the list.
Any comparison with the size and shoot-ability of the compact vs subcompact. I have a S&W shield but would like to switch to DA/SA and thought the sub-compact might be more comparable to the shield. However, waiting for the compact carry seems like a good option too?
at 8 minutes is that Paul Harrels music? lmao
Damnit my state has a "approved weapons" roster and guess what no PX4 storm. To this day I still drool over it, wanted one even before I got my LTC!
What’s ur state??
This is a great video full of detail. Thank you.
Dawson will make you sights if you ask them and I think they don't charge too much more for custom dimensions
+John L. For reals? I might have to do that.
I'd give it a try, worst they can do is say no
I like the PX4, but it's too much of a pain to take out the firing pin for cleaning so for that reason I'll stick with my old school Ruger P95 as my DA/SA option because that slide comes apart super easy for cleaning.
Lucky Gunner Ammo
I cast my own lead bullets that I powder coat and I have a progressive press that I reload about a dozen different calibers with and I shoot every weekend on both Saturday and Sunday, so I guess I'm shooting over 5000 rds per year in my Ruger P95, but that's not the point I was trying to make when it comes to keeping the firing pin clean.
The design makes it easy to clean the firing pin channel even without removing the firing pin.
How can you clean the firing pin on a PX4 without taking out the pin?
Seems like Beretta hasn't released any info on that new model yet, hope they're still releasing it.
+Hunter Williams They are. There were some issues with the sights but it seems to be sorted out now. Should be shipping soon.
were you ever able to get your hands on a compact carry? if so will we see a video on your thoughts?
Beretta has been selling them faster than they can import new ones, so there haven't been any extras to send out for reviews. I have heard good things about it, though.
I do enjoy mine, but for an odd reason. Its a pretty good sized gun but when carried appendix it dissapears pretty good. Got one in 40sw, it was cheap (400 bucks) but its a fun shooter.
to your knowledge, can the sub-compact version have the safety/decock modification done to it as well?
Excellent job on the Talon Tape. If you lived closer I'd pay you to do mine!
Excellent review as are all the ones you do! Just curious if you ever got your Compact Carry version and if you still carry this gun? Thanks
Chris - you make a decision yet on going with the compact carry? Would love to see you do a video on that firearm. Love the videos, keep em coming.
This is a better made pistol and by the way have you ever heard of the term "Beretta Legged?"
My HK's are also hammer fired. I prefer them over the striker fired guns like Glocks.
blah
REVIEW THE P-07!!
was looking forward to this video!
didn't know about the compact carry that is coming thanks for the heads up!
They should be shipping in the next couple of weeks. It's available for pre-order. Link in the video description.
+deadbungeejumper I don't remember having that option when I bought mine so I'm not sure which it is.
I would really like to hear your take on the cz p01
Chris, have you gotten the Combat Carry to review as yet?
+A J The PX4CC is on it's way from Italy. Preorder link in vid description
A J Same here. Glocks have poorly supported chambers and use polygonal barrels instead of traditional rifling. That's bad for hand loads. I guess that's not a problem for some people but reloading is a hobby of mine.
keep'em coming dude
I love the look of the inox compact. Grill me but I’d love a striker fired version
