- These are just MY experiences with these two irons. I don't take recommendations lightly, but feel very comfortable associating my name with both of these irons. Maybe one day I'll try a gravity fed iron, but these are excellent choices for a fair price in a small place.

Thank you for reviewing irons. I’m always lost when looking to buy. I got the blue Oliso so for Christmas and was very disappointed (hang on for good outcome) because the front foot did not retract all the way. The result was that when the iron moved onto the fabric it caught the edge, wrinkling the fabric AND setting the wrinkles with steam. You can imagine my frustration. And guilt because my daughter spent her money on this iron that I hated. I contacted Oliso customer service and they replaced the iron. So far the new one is without issues.
Aww yeah, that does sound frustrating, but I'm glad they made it right, thanks for sharing.

My velocity 200IR that you compared to the alisio finally failed for me after years of wonderful ironing. It still irons but the steam is gone. Where can you buy these as I can't find them anyway. thank you. good comparison. I don't need the spray so I'd to replace my velocity. I see the new velocity steam pro looks good but is $329 at S. Feldman. Any experience with this new version?
Hi Sara. Thank you for your review. I have the Reliable model that you have and have owned the previous model as well. I have also owned the Oliso. I absolutely LOVE the Reliable. One thing I wanted to mention is that once you enable the stay on feature, the iron is designed to memorize that you’ve enabled it, even when you turn it off. The way to disable this feature is to unplug the iron. This is mentioned in the manual. As a quilter, I have to say the stay on feature is one of my favorites. That and the no spitting thing. If I had one gripe about this iron, it’s that I wish it was easier to see the water level in the reservoir. But the iron is so great I’m willing to live with that.

Hey there, no single video, but I recommend the CC Jamie pattern - sooo many ways to use it, so it's a lot of bang for your buck. I didn't hear you speak.enough about the performance of the irons. How do they perform side by side. Does one iron better?
both are wonderful, no-spitting irons. velocity by reliable gets much hotter (and heats up faster) and has more steam than the oliso iron. the velocity also has an auto-shut off bypass. meanwhile the oliso has a really handy foot feature that lifts the iron up. might seem kinda silly, but it is very convenient.

I have used the Oliso for years. My first one recently died and I loved it so much I ordered a new one.
My First Oliso leaked like a sieve after the first year and my second one has just started spitting after a year and a half. Want to try the Reliable next time.
my olisio was junk! within a year it leaks and the auto lift stopped working.
Hello Dear Sarah! you know you actuary inspire me to buy the aOliso I have use all my life Rowanta but we have a cat (MR Apollo) who will go on my ironing board and knack down my iron few times and guess that! Start leaking after/ so I'm trying Oliso for the first time hope it will work for some time! but anyway I so you with your yellow iron and I wanted to try so I got the pink one.

I have been using the same Rowenta for thirty four years…still going strong.
Now I need to work on convincing my husband to let me get one of these! 😬🤣 I like my Shark Pro, but I definitely use tap water because I'm like you - ain't nobody got time to buy distilled. So the mineral build up can get bad. I just clean it out with a decalcifier. Thanks for the recs!
The irons look like skillets. I always wonder how hot the iron gets. Can u fry bacon on the iron?

Thank you for the review! I was thinking about getting a Singer, but I really want a decent and reliable iron. I hate throwing stuff away.
Always fill your irons with distilled water. There is a small reservoir in the iron that fills when you depress the steam button. When you continue to hold the button down, the reservoir overflows and creates spitting. I use a gravity feed Naomoto industrial iron ($600) with a shoe attached to prevent shine. I have had my iron for fifteen years. It works perfect!
