Had my clapper for almost 50 years. Works great with the wool mat and steam.

I have a Tailor's Ham that is also probably older than you. It just has a different color plaid than your mom's I have had many irons during my 55 years of sewing, but I've promised myself that my next one will be a Oliso. Great video.

Hi, i love my Oliso iron. I've had it for 8 yrs and it's working great. My top reason to recommend it is the decrease in pain i have in my neck and shoulders with this iron. Because it lifts itself up and I don't have to set the iron up on its heel all the time, i can iron without pain. For me this is a huge benefit.

Thank you for sharing your experience with your Oliso Iron! That is a good point that you don't have to heft it up every time you finishing pressing.

Thanks Jen. I love my Oliso iron. Something worth pointing out is that you need to empty the water out when you finish ironing or it can leak all over your ironing board.

...That's good to know! I don't empty mine... but after it does empty, I get lazy and instead of filling it, I'll mist my fabric with my handy spray bottle, maybe that's why my full water tank hasn't leaked :) Thanks for watching

Thanks for the tips on pressing and forming colllars, Jen. I’m going to incorporate those now. 😊 I have the Oliso mini iron for quilting and embroidery; the full sized one is going on my wish list immediately. Hoping someone from the company will see this vlog and offer you (us) a discount code. 😂
    Sew with joy! 😘

@@JSternDesigns I couldn’t resist buying the iron. 😊 When I went through the link you provided, I saw that the delivery date is late November and no adding to the wish list was available. I just HAD to go ahead and push…send!

Pressing as you sew is so important and a sign of a committed sewist. I’m glad you’re reminding us of the essential basics. (Psst. I have to know what made those marks on your clapper.)🤗

:)))) Yes it is! & Ugh, when I was using a heat iron to transfer my logo on to a wooden tool I was selling a while back, I would "test" the heat of the iron on my clapper... Looking at it now, that wasn't the best idea :) I think I'm going to take it to my Dad and have it loved up with a little sand paper! Thanks for watching

I do need a new iron. I have been using a rechargable cordless, which I have been very happy with. We have very hard water with a water softener. So have been using distilled bottle water. It seems to extended it's life. Nothing worse than a iron that dribbles water, and it never has. But it is getting a bit odd on letting the steam come out.
I will have to put the iron in my cart for later.
I used your link the yesterday to order flannel from the Kansas City shop. Lol, like normal I forgot to put your code in on my order. Lol

Thanks for all these tips on collars. I’m hoping to make my first shirt when I get back to Virginia. This will really be helpful. I might just ask for that iron for Christmas. I got my best Christmas present early Sunday and morning. My son & his wife were finally able to get out of Israel and get home . Luckily they were a little up north from the invasion.
