They got some nerve parking cars right next to the testing area. Imagine you don't make the turn or someone gets nervous and loses it going into the cars. Why are there cars in the testing area? Is the parking lot full? lol I'm taking the test in a couple of days. Good job passing btw.
In case some of you riders didn't know it, you no longer need a licensed motorcycle rider with you when you want to ride. It went into effect back in 2014. Anyway I'm in my mid 50's and I'm renewing my mc permit tomorrow down in Vineland. Do you or anyone here know what the vision test was like? AWESOME video my friend. Ride Safe everyone 👍😃
Nice job,I'm gonna be buying my bike next year,had a question, on the part where you had to swerve, was you actually going slow enough to just turn the handle bars,I always thought you had to countersteer when going over 12mph, push left go left,but looked like you just turned the bars,congrats stay safe.
Update 6-6-22] there's only 30 questions on the knowledge test. You can get 10 or less wrong. The vision test took less than 10 seconds. It checks to see if you're colorblind. I'm scheduled to take my road test in Mays landing at the end of the month.

you can only get like 5 wrong. I took mine a few weeks ago and when I got the 24th question correct, it shut off because I passed, which means you can get 5 wrong and still pass.

I had to take a quick eye test and written test at the dmv. It was mostly pretty easy common sense questions. The permit lasts like 2 or 3 months before it expires

First you just get a permit. With all your IDs. I believe it's 5 bucks. Then you may or may not have to schedule a separate date for the written exam. Or they may let you take it right then and there after you get a permit. Then you will have a stamped permit you can ride and practice with. You can have them schedule the road test as soon as you pass written. Or you can call and schedule later. Permits are for 3 months, but you can renew it several times. Written test is good for 2 years, before you have to take it again.

TIP: If you have a longer wheelbase or heavier bike, weaving through the cones can be quite difficult- or even impossible. A Fail will be administered if you both; put your foot down, and do not make it through the cones. If you do NOT put your foot down but also do not make it through all the cones, you can still Pass the test by getting the rest of the tasks 100%. Or bring a smaller bike...good luck!
Does anybody know if you can ride your bike to the actual road test? I don’t understand why you wouldn’t be able to since you legally can drive with a permit…

I can only answer the latter since I just scheduled my first MC road test. But you can rent one just be aware if you take the road test on a scooter/motorcycle 249cc and under, you will be restricted with your license to riding no higher than a 500cc.
Schedule an appointment at the DMV for your permit and written knowledge test. If you get a bike and are caught with no License or permit it's a $500 fined. The process is fairly easy. Best of luck to you.
You have to bring your own for the DMV riding test. If you want, you can sign up for an MSF course and they will provide the bike and teach you how to ride, and I think they help you get the license as well

What I was trying to say was that even to get an endorsement done is normally a separate appointment but I was able to get in w/o one.

That simulates real world conditions better if anything lmao. If you can’t navigate with those cars around you shouldn’t be on the road to begin with

When i did my MC learner permit test in Edison in summer of 2015, it said "Supervised" practice only.

look up how counter steering works on a motorcycle. just takes practicing and understanding how to counter steer properly

You can renew your permit every 3 months for up to 2 years. Thats how long your permit is valid for.

If you pass the MSF course, you get a "waiver" for the road test. Just bring the waiver to the MVC and you get your endorsement.
