Bruce had won a grand prix, nearly won the title, created his own works team, won the CanAm championship, and had his team finished 3rd in the WCC all before the age of 33. Truly a tragic loss but his legacy lives on because of his leadership, the team regrouped and won a WDC in 1974
McLaren has been my favourite team since I started watching F1, firstly through supporting Lewis Hamilton and then I went further into the McLaren camp when he left for Mercedes. I like that they're now starting to compete in more series than just F1 like they did in the 60s and 70s, with their partnership with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in IndyCar going into its second season this year and potentially looking at racing in Formula E and/or WEC in the future. I saw the M8D at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2019. It certainly stood out, the Can-Am cars are monsters! The series was nicknamed 'the Bruce and Denny Show' during McLaren's dominance because the two Kiwis were winning all the time!
