Last but not least I want to give HUGE SHOUTOUT to the entire CSI Starbase team on discord. This dedicated team of 100+ agents with specialties ranging all across the board, has been crucial in getting the most accurate info for these episodes. Couldn't do it without yal! - Наука та технологія
What a brilliant & fun way to teach people about Starbase! Great job! You'd be a great Dream Team attorney!
Personally I just want information without not needed comedy(I think that would be fitting word here) which isn't even that funny
Your videos are such a great way to inform others about this complicated subject. You do a wonderful job, and we are very lucky and proud you are part of our community! Thank you
Thanks for making these videos, Zack. One thing i know is that Stage Zero is ridiculously complicated but let's remember that Boca is an r&d site. SpaceX is learning a lot and they will use that knowledge to make optimizations and simplify things where possible. As much as we all would love for them to have it all figured out, there are no blueprints on how to make any of that stuff. I'd be curious to see future iterations of the OLM and what is going to change compared to the current design
Turning things from impossible to late is still good for me, both from CSI Starbase and from SpaceX.
I hope this is not the last we have seen of the fierce and brilliant Investigator Judy Riuliani. :)
The plot has definitely done some thickening. Looking forward to future episodes.
There's been so much speculation about the OLM and full static fire of late, and this video answers so much of what we've been wondering about. Fantastic video Zach!
I’m glad that you are taking a comedic approach to your videos … there are plenty of other channels that are soooooo serious … this is actually fun to watch lol
That was dang funny and informative. Good job bud
Zack this one was fantastic. I love the juicy details being told through character. I hope we see Judarius again!
Preach, Brother Riuliani!!!
These are f-n awesome and funny as hell too. I know I am about to get schooled and laugh my ass off every time I watch one of these. You need a channel about all the things, same format.
LOL I keep imagining Eric Ralph's face as he is progressively more horrified by this video.
Ethan Ralph? The gun himself?
What a wonderful video. Such fun! I especially appreciate how you identify key components that need to be in place for a next step. Now I know what to look for in Mauricio's OLM photos.
Zack, you’re looking clean man. Thanks for the info!
Awesome! Thanks for holding Elon’s feet to the fire…I’d have to agree with Riuliani. You are brave to risk the wrath of fanboys everywhere!
Super risky. That’s for sure.
@@CSIStarbase If Elon doesn’t actually reply to this, I’ll be both surprised and disappointed. Let’s hope he continues to give you some new traffic. You’ve certainly been earning it.
@@DavJumps hmmm it takes a lot of humility to respond honestly to legit criticism. Does Elon have that?
Spacex is my religion, Starship my bible and Elon is God. Conclusion: It hasn't yet passed one week since Sep. 10th 2021
@@uritamminga1 Hard to be humble (I’d imagine) when of all 7 billion, 753 million people currently alive on the planet … you are famous for being the richest (often conflated with “most successful”) among them … and widely credited for having actually done and achieved “cool” things, some of which have arguably done more than anyone in recent memory to inspire dreamers into STEM careers and push all of humanity forward. But the wealth thing … that probably goes to your head a bit.
Woah! Great info and presented real well!
This was fantastic, Zack. The lower third snark was very entertaining. Congrats. You’ve got a bright future, young man. 👍🏼
As chief engineer musk didn’t design and build the olm mount himself. He came up with the idea, gathered the money, and picked a number of nerds to make teams and do it. His job is to stand on his high horse and whip saying “do this by next week”
Zack, bro, how many hats do you wear? Actor, motivational speaker, stand-up comedian, Engineer, and UA-camr extraordinaire! THE most simultaneously entertaining and informative SpaceX channel! You make a very convincing case.
ok now I'm curious
Another great video! Thanks.
Love these vids Zack
Didn’t raptor v1 still have torch igniters? V2 is more complicated and needs a more complicated stage 0. Stage 0 wouldn’t have had to be nearly as built out for a test fire on B4.
My thoughts as well. Not sure the prosecution's case here is very air-tight. Might have a "gloves not fitting" moment here ... ;)
Great video! I don‘t even know what to say! Thank you for your amazing work!
This is definitely the content Jeff Who is looking for. You'll be on Prime next week :)
The pistons (or turnbuckles) do not have to take the full force of the rocket trying to lift. If you draw out the force vectors, the vast majority of the upward force of the rocket will be on the hinge pins of the hold-downs.
I feel like he started going into the math then quickly abandoned it, switching to pure speculation not backed up by actual mathematical evidence.
@@andy_byrd I agree. I think he came to the correct conclusion that the turnbuckles will replace the piston for static fires, but did not adequately describe why two relatively small turnbuckles on each clamp would be sufficient. He should have pointed out that the turnbuckles (or pistons) only have to keep the hold-downs from rotating. They do not need to hold down the rocket.
Thanks for great content. Getting some deep insight of starbase in your videos. Love it
Cool video, like how you keep finding new angles to analyse starbase. Elon was super optimistic but maybe the plan got a lot more complicated over time. I am glad we are going too see static fires and a test flight this year imo
Yea. I have stories for everything. Just have to fit them all into the perfect time to release each one. Im glad folks appreciate the effort
@@CSIStarbase You are the best update source on SpaceX imo, for sure on Starbase
@@CSIStarbase Zack, you keep mentioning on the flyover videos that to ensure its supply, SpaceX gets concrete deliveries every day whether they want them or not; and as a result they’re always looking for places to pour it.
So why not take a Starship aft end ring section, sleeve it over a robustly built common dome (less any holes for the downcomers or other plumbing), flip that sucker over, add another ring section with some chopstick lift points, and start pouring concrete into it?
When your concrete cures, you roll it out to the launch site, lift it up, drop it on top of Booster 7, and Bob’s your uncle.
You’ve got all the hold-down mass you need; you don’t need to waste any fuel or oxidizer when concrete will do the job just fine; no need to spend all that time and money tanking and de-tanking and venting untold truck loads of consumables into the air.
And you can continue to use the same one with every new booster needing to be static fired and it won’t cost you an extra dime.
And in case the vehicle RUDs? You’ve got less consumables to go boom and haven’t destroyed a Starship.
I suppose it’s worth noting that a huge mass of concrete, though inert and non-‘splody, should a booster go pop below it … well, that might take a significant chunk out of the OLM platform on it’s way down - which wouldn’t be ideal. So maybe you add a few more ring sections and fill the thing with water instead? Water probably wouldn’t be so bad a thing to have fall into and exploding booster.
Thoughts?
I hope when Elon mounts his vigorous defense that Kong is reassembled at the launch site and takes the stand on his behalf.
Kong, or Frankencrane? Or a different name for each boom?
@@DavJumps Yeah, wasn't "Kong" blue?
@@lewishudgens pretty sure Kong and Frankencrane both used for the LR11350. I think I heard Zack ( I mean Ruiliani) use Kong. Trying to remember what the blue LR600 was called ... seemed huge until the big boys arrived.
May have just been Godzilla
it was Tankzilla
Excellent stuff! 🙂👍
I can't wait for the next video all about Starfactory! And amazing video today, love the skits :)
Skits? Man, I thought I was watching a real news conference! You got me.
Hilarious Zac, I do enjoy your videos. You should be on Saturday night Live
Awesome one Zack
Spread the love!
Awesome videos.
You have earned +420K nerdle points for integrating your interest in politics into CSI vids…. Please don’t back down!!
Great work Za(c)k....Loved it...
Omg, even if someone has no interest in rocketry, this vid is still worth watching!😲
Great analysis on the hold down mechanism
Thank you Zack. very good skit you have prepared. I don't tink they will do a full stack just to test the booster even if it is in deep throttled . good spot finding the turn buckle . thank you so much for sharing all these golden nuggets of information.
That was pretty good. Definitely a memorable presentation. It's exciting when companies make it up as they go along. New frontiers demand new approaches.
Shorter but still filled to the brim with great, fun info. A real treat for the hungry team space nerds like me. BTW, this was a true crime scene investigation. Elon's crime of blatantly lying to Team Space!
I DEMAND an apology for your client, as soon as I stop laughing.
Thanks!
Thanks for examining the CLAMP mechanics!! I wondered...
Great job !
Love it...I often wonder if Elon takes the time to view these. Keep up the great engineering analysis.
Great show!
So funny! Thank you!
Great video Zack, the only criticism I have is it could be half the length and still be just as informative and entertaining.
So speak twice as fast?
It's brilliant the way you inform&teach us about OLM. Your intakes are priceless. European SpaceX enthusiast.
Well done!
Man, you are GOOD!
You had me at Naked QD 😂
Cheers !
You a funny guy Zack. Good job!
I feel like your accent changed 3 to 4 times during the trial. 😀❤️
Once I heard the Professor Klump accent I couldn't unhear it haha. Great video as always
Zack is Geordi La Forge on acid.
Watching now - grandpajoe
Man waited a whole year to bring forth these claims 🤣
this was fun to watch
Thanks for your comedic & engineering take on Boca Chica and Elon Musk. Refreshing way to get a lot of "dry" information.
A test stand can withstand 6 Raptor engines static fire. 33 Engines would be a piece of cake for OLM.
I strongly disagree that the test stand withstood 6 engine static fire.
@@CSIStarbase Few days ago there was starship 6 Raptor engine static fire on test stand. Right
@@happycamperinc. I think he means it was damaged.
@@knowledgeisgood9645 Ohh i see. Yeah things will get damaged but OLM is almost ready for orbital flight. Post launch damage will happen to OLM for now. But it can handle that much thrust.
@@happycamperinc. He was talking about the suborbital stand.
Even with a fully built-out OLM, why would they ever static-fire all 33 Raptors at the same time?
Also, wouldn't they wanna "static fire" the water delusion system first? I've yet to see that.
This is superb :D
Excellent argument council.
…my favorite site…thank you.
This is the best thing I've seen since watching SN11 chunks rain through the clouds!
Brilliant and highly informative. Loved the Jackie Chiles like character, Judy. You need a Kramer character to be asking Judy to represent him ;-)
"Some like this" ..... "boom"
Watching now!! 🥰
😂😂😂😂 Bruh whatever we are on track for, its not orbital in the near future! Thanks for the insight Zack, Ryan and team!!
Zack, you did not even mention that B4 had fewer engines. Then again is it mandatory to SF with all 33?
Hi Zack, I think you've got some really interesting insights that I really enjoy, but the format is a massive turnoff for me (quite happy to accept that there are some who do like it!) Would you be willing to set up another channel that has the same content bur presented in a more traditional format?
Do the actuators do the actual work? Or move/hold iron in place, that itself does the work?
Totally agree, it is not likely that they will static fire all 33 without stacking the starship. They could fill starship with nitrogen also, which would likely be the most safe course of action in the event of a RUD.
"and putting the damn fuel into the booster!!!"
Egregious!!! Preposterous!! We demand the proper requested apology for your aggrieved "self appointed" client. lololol.... Great video.
Calculations have been made under the assumption that all 33 Raptor engines be fired simultaneously. The last word in the above sentence is key. To test-fire 33 engines, you don't have to fire them all at the same time. If I am not wrong, such a simultaneous test-firing was publicly dismissed.
Of course, the above has nothing to do with that week turned a year . . . .
Great, great, great 👏
that was fun, Zack! thx. ever considered to walk the attorney path? you've already got everything it takes. those details about the laws and such, you can easily acquire later on.
Hi Martin. I would probably go for CIA or something before law school!
@@CSIStarbasecan't wait for That show 🙂
😂 👏 loved the judge character 😂
The clamp could be cammed so that the clamp is holding the force by default, the piston just has to pull it out of cam lock.
Once the top flange is hooked on … the stress would not be put on to the piston but on to the assembly as a total
Going for gold 🤩
Oh, come on now! He spends so much time in Texas! He an't lyiun he's just talking Texan!
In defense of the honorable Mr. Mush...Sarcasm on his part, and LOVED it!
Next time you should make the presentation in front of a landscaping store
Lmaooo Geoff originally had me outside of a car dealership. I didn’t fully think about that until you made that comment. You are right for sure.
You seem pretty certain about the deep throttling capability of the raptor. Do you have a source for the 0.4 value? I only know about an old tweet from Elon where he says that they maybe could go to this level... and that's not worth a lot as we have seen :D
I wonder what Elon motivates to write such tweets or was it supposed to be a meme from the beginning?
Great video btw! :)
However, I prefer your normal accent. For non-native speakers it might be a bit challenging to listen to such a strong accent for so long.
Who does yer hair? Thank-You!
The Key Word that destroys your thesis is "hopefully."
I miss Starbase
Persuasive case but I would object to my Colleague's description as "biggest lie" undoubtedly goes to "FSD looks on track to be safer than a human by the end of the year. Not even a question."
And what exactly have you contributed to humanity lately mate?
Guess it depends what human you are comparing it to.
It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. If, as a technical innovator, you tell your potential customers that their magic beans will be ready in 5 years they will lose interest and you will lose funding. Insinuate that it could be ready any day now and the excitement remains.
"looks on track" can still be true even if it doesn't happen though...
haha what a wig! love it! (that was a wig, right?) 🤣
Mr Ralph let's cats sit on his face. I rest my case.
Perry Mason of rocketry is needed, maybe Elong has him on loan at his Twttr legal team? What I would say is that it is no surprise Booster + Starship have not launched. Stage Zip is a revolution all in itself, relocating stuff off the booster to it, the idea of auto loading the booster to it from an orbit, it is all crazy neurons firing. Keeps us all excited, on the edge of our seats. But, Elong is guilty!
I hope the COO is not performing a charade. I think the Starship will reach orbit in October.
Whoooooooooooouuuuuhhhhh!
I wonder if there’s a ms project manger for the OLM? Can you imagine the pm seeing the tweet then looking at the schedule 🤣🤣
