I completely agree, I saw them in 97 and again last year. The show last year was a religious experience. Can't wait till I see them again. I hope it's not another 25 years.
I saw them in 2019 and just tonight bought tickets to their current tour so going to see them for the second time now. Amazing doesn’t cut it. A truly spiritual experience for sure.
This is why I love your music reactions the most, because you "feel" the music more than anyone else I watched. Seeming like you needed a cigarette and an aftercare cuddle at the end of the song was a great example 😂🥰
Just happen to run across you reviewing excellent music. You're very intelligent description of music is delightful. As a man that enjoyed this music as a teenager I love seeing people discovering it. Well done girl keep it up. ❤
Great video! I think overwhelming is a great way to describe the feeling from so many tool songs. Also it was great that you said "it feels like he's teaching a lesson through trauma" right before the lyrics become nihilistic life lessons. You called it lmao

First time I heard 'Vicarious' by Tool, I was in shock! The first time I saw them play 'Vicarious' in concert, I was literally like... "What the hell???" 😲 When the breakdown came in w/ the drums and bass, a huge muscular fella wearing a Mexican wrestling mask came on stage wearing a tutu and started twirling around like a ballerina to the rhythm of the song 🤣 One of those moments I went, "Did I just see that?"
I'm so happy you did this one. This song was such a pivotal moment in my musical life that I remember the first time I heard it in 2006. Up until that point I had heard of Tool but never heard anything from them. When it came on the radio in Philly, I was so mesmerized by the intro with the weaving of the masterful bass and guitar and then bam right in my face. All I could think after hearing it was God Damn have I been missing out and I just had to hear more. Great band!
Welcome back to greatness! So happy you did this one. The patterns on your blouse are very similar to the album cover, it must have been meant to be today 😊 Love the reaction!❤
Watched plenty of your first time reaction videos. Never heard you like that. The energy and speed of putting your thoughts to words is awesome. Haven't seen that kind of excitement outside of going to live shows myself. The human octopus at his drum destroying best!!
Tool is life. Heard them around 20 years ago at a friend. Didn't understand. Seen them live 25 years ago on a festival. Didn't understand a bit. Fell in love with them later. I felt like I understood now. Seen them live again couple years ago. The realization that I still didn't understand them was.. breathtaking. It blew me away, again. They're just too darn good.

7:20 Just for a bit of context - former drummer here 🙌🏼 - that was/is the snare and those chains under the snare you refer to are called “wire snares” :) 👌🏼 The snare sounds absolutely delightful! 🤤
I really loved your reaction to this song. It’s one of Tool’s more intense songs, especially as it is so complex musically. It’s thought-provoking and never lets you settle. It’s rare that a band can consistently churn out songs that are both instantly catchy and yet still fascinating even when you’ve heard them a hundred times or more, because each time you listen to them you find something new and amazing in them. In fact, I’d say Tool are unique in being able to create songs of this quality over and over again throughout their 20+ year history.
This was the third Tool song in Guitar Hero that was part of my first exposure to Tool, so it has some extra meaning to me. That opening section on guitar was so tricky for me. You've been doing a wide variety of things lately, good to see something I'm familiar with. I saw on your Twitch VOD yesterday that you did another Periphery song, Everything is Fine! But the audio got muted 😠I've accepted that we won't see your whole Periphery journey, but would you consider doing Reptile on UA-cam? It's a legendary 17 minute song that might push Periphery into your favorites.
I always enjoy watching someone experience Tool. They have been my favourite band since I was 14, sharing my headphones with my friend next to me in Maths class listening to Lateralus. Keep up the great content, love sent from the UK
Man I haven't heard this song in a long while. One of the first songs I heard by Tool that got me into them. And yeah topic more relevant than ever. I love your theory about them creating chaos and trauma and therefore you remember the songs haha. Think you might be right. Seriously I have spent the entire fucking day just watching your videos, rediscovering Tool and other great bands I listened to during my angsty teen years. It's been great.
'it's like an alarm clock waking you up from a dream'. This has been my favorite tool song for almost 20 years and you just changed the way I look at it.
Okay Aileen…. Now you have me Vicariously excited through you !!! Scored 2 tickets earlier today for the Nov. 15th show in Boston and now watching your stank face reacting to tool makes me want to run through a Brick wall ! Lol 😂 ❤ …….and I’ve already seen them 8 times since (97) great reaction Aileen, my favorite reactor ❤️🔥❤️ “Spiral Out Keep Going” 🌀🌀🌀🌀
Great reaction as always, I feel he is not only talking about news, but also films and series, both based on real events and fictional, war, crime, drama and murder stories get the most views.
This was, without a doubt, the most insightful review of this song I have ever heard. I feel like you were saying all the things I was thinking about this track.
As an 'experiencer', I really appreciate how honest your interpretations of Tool are. You put words to a the wordless. Keep ranting... It's appreciated 😊
I remember when this came out, went to Hastings and got the CD that day. Sat in the parking lot and made sure everyone else heard me too (had subs/stereo in my jeep). Love this song and the scream at the end...very direct
My roots in music go back to prog rock in the 70s. Rush, King Crimson and Pink Floyd my main 3. Tool is the only band that satisfied what all 3 of those bands brought for me. Great songwriting and musicianship on a different level
'the alarm clock'. ...wow that's a really good angle I hadn't even thought of and I had one of those bootleg copies of it before it was released. I'm gonna go marinate on that for a little bit.
2:28 Omg its very interesting that you say that because the first 30 seconds of this song is my alarm on my phone for about 8 years now! 😄😂 It's good that you didn't react to the music video version cause otherwise your brain might have melted from too much input! 😂 My favorite line from Vicarious is: "We all feed on tragedy! It's like blood to a vampire!" 🔥❤️
I'm glad you thought it was as badass as I did. Tool STILL gives me chills, to this day. I sometimes go months or even a year or two without listening to music - and then I listen to Tool and I wonder wtf was wrong with me, haha. "Why didn't I think of this sooner?!"
I'm 40 now. Been to countless shows from countless bands. My first time seeing tool was in 2001 in atlanta. By FAR the greatest live music experience of my life. The 'salival' version of pushit, lateralus, aenema, the set list goes on and on. I will never forget those feelings, visuals (scisim contortionists), and music. The drugs weren't bad either 😅
The lead singer of Tool is from where i was raised in Ravenna, Ohio. When my sister moved out of my dads house when she turned 18, she lived with him and his mom. Freaking epic. True Story
One of the more amazing things about Tool from a lyrics standpoint, is that you don't have to know the meaning behind a song to find deep meaning, and you can read the lyrics right off a page and think you know - but then when you listen to the song you will be quite unsure. It's partly the sound making you read further into it, but even all combined, you can find a handful of tool fans in any given group, where if they have NOT read the artist's intent behind the lyrics, you can have every one of them take something different from the songs - at least partially different. That's the mark of genius! Tool really are something special. Always will be, in my mind.
Go see them live in an arena. You'll never be the same. Fantastic and authentic review. You guys always make me emotional watching you fall in love with these guys like I did 25 years ago. Music has never been been the same. Be safe
So happy Vicarious was finally covered. My all time favourite Tool song. You should check out the band Knives Out! at some point. (particularly the song 'Hysteria')
I love your analysis, not only on the music but also the philosophies. And I do have 1 separating opinion...it's not chaos to know moments...it's organized chaos. It works when it works. And it works when it doesn't work. It's not chaos, though...it's extremely controlled but also regardless. And that is what binds the difference.
Not only one of my favorite TOOL songs but one of my favorite songs of all time. I absolutely love the intro riff as it incorporates both the electric and bass guitars together to make one grand riff. Not to mention the lyrics are brilliant and I think they can also be interpreted in today's society with social media and violent videos.
Today’s Mainstream Media are out of control and liars, the all of the Alphabet Agencies need to be reined in as well. Why is Donald Trump being indicted on something all the previous Presidents did, as well as Hillary Clinton. Also Joe Biden caught in a Bribery incident with the Ukrainian Prosecutor that was looking into corruption. This World is a 🤡 World where Companies can’t get lines of credit without pushing an agenda. Also why are school Teachers so hellbent on bringing in weird Sexual stuff. Like the Teachers have no business knowing or talking casually about things like that especially in the Grades they are doing it in, and just in General. Why does a Teacher want to go there with Kids? Also pushing the narrative that there are so many Shootings in the USA. If you took out Police involved Shootings, and Suicide (you could even throw in Gang Violence) the USA wouldn’t even be in the top 150 Countries. And going back to Gang Violence where is BLM? 🦗You don’t see them marching in Chicago’s Southside. I don’t really care for any Political Party, but the lies are so blatant. Every Civil Rights bill had Republican Support it wasn’t the Demoncrats. The Demoncrats came into Poor Neighborhoods with that cash and made the Poor dependent on the Government. They didn’t help them. And my first Childhood Home was in a Trailerpark so don’t tell me I don’t know what it’s like. Now they are trying to normalize Pedo’s it’s really maddening seeing that I’ve had experience with that from a Female Babysitter when I was Young. The Government ruins everything, they need to be small and afraid of the citizens. That is what the 2nd Amendment is all about. As a Canadian don’t ever let them screw around with that (even though they do), a lot of crap needs to be stomped out. It’s like they pretend not to know what “Shall not be infringed” means. I wish I could move down there.
The entire 10,000 days album is a masterpiece. If you have not yet done so, go listen to each song in succession in a single sitting. I used to marathon every tool album in a single work day while doing industrial sandblasting, and it was one of the best times I've ever had. Every time. At least when I didn't accidentally slip and blast myself, haha. I would sandblast to the music - which... I don't even know how to describe, but it feels great. 10,000 days has since become my favorite of their albums - even greater than Lateralus, which I used to say would never happen.
I was at the same show. It was actually the night the album came out. I remember Maynard saying the album comes out at midnight. I remember Maynard saying what’s up hippies? I smell patchouli!
3:07 it's funny hearing you relate this song to social media because this song was written before social media really became a thing. Without fact checking myself, I think maybe Myspace was around when this song came out, but social media FOR SURE did not exist like it does today. And now social media is kinda like a hyper accelerated version of the "bad" things this song is about. If this song was written today I'm sure Maynard would've used smartphone instead of television in the lyrics.
Tool is something else... A different Level of Consciousness. It's not just music. It is Magick / Kabbalah, Sacred Science, and Mathematics! Oh, and a HUGE magnifying glass and mirror at the human race!
I had always heard of TOOL growing up and was a hit and miss fan but this song is the one that changed the game for me. I wasn’t allowed to listen to metal music as a kid so I vividly remember hearing that breakdown and the rest as they say is history! Our generations Zeppelin.
Tool is like a glass of cold water after you've been lost in the desert.
Also, "Right in Two" is the next Tool song you MUST hear. Very deep lyrics and one of my personal favorites.

anything from TOOL I welcome even a fat middle finger
"I need to watch things die... from a good safe distance."
SO Profound.
I never really picked that lyric out back then until now.
"The universe is hostile, so impersonal. Devour to survive, so it is, so it's always been..." Sweet dreams sweetie! *Shuts off the light*
That is what the news does. They let us watch "from a good safe distance."
That's how it is these days we want violence n horror as long as we're ok

Seriously I have spent the entire fucking day just watching your videos, rediscovering Tool and other great bands I listened to during my angsty teen years. It's been great.
Tool is a cold glass of milk after all you've been fed are cookies.
Been waiting for this one 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Amazing song, amazing channel. This’ll be good!
'it's like an alarm clock waking you up from a dream'.
This has been my favorite tool song for almost 20 years and you just changed the way I look at it.
Hell yeah. One of my favorite tool songs. You’re the best aileen :)
Okay Aileen…. Now you have me Vicariously excited through you !!! Scored 2 tickets earlier today for the Nov. 15th show in Boston and now watching your stank face reacting to tool makes me want to run through a Brick wall ! Lol 😂 ❤
…….and I’ve already seen them 8 times since (97) great reaction Aileen, my favorite reactor ❤️🔥❤️ “Spiral Out Keep Going” 🌀🌀🌀🌀
Just got my tool tix yesterday, can't wait till the tour starts in october!
Gonna see them again in Philly on there next tour, you have to check out descending, absolute masterpiece
It's good that you didn't react to the music video version cause otherwise your brain might have melted from too much input! 😂
My favorite line from Vicarious is: "We all feed on tragedy!
It's like blood to a vampire!"
🔥❤️
I'm glad you thought it was as badass as I did. Tool STILL gives me chills, to this day. I sometimes go months or even a year or two without listening to music - and then I listen to Tool and I wonder wtf was wrong with me, haha. "Why didn't I think of this sooner?!"
You are one of the few people that actually get it. I love your reactions and your passion. You seem like a beautiful person. Keep up the great work!
Good good reaction, wow you really love drumming, that’s awesome!
Wonderful reaction Aileen. This song, in these times we're living in... What else can be said ?
You are you and you are super in every way.
your reaction to tool is always the best. totally agree.
Been awhile since I’ve stopped by, glad I did ❤
Love your reaction. You can tell you really fill it by your expression and sighs! 🔥🖤🤘
Please do eulogy or the holy trinity next please!! You are such a great reactor for tool songs and all songs especially. Amazing reaction❤
The lead singer of Tool is from where i was raised in Ravenna, Ohio. When my sister moved out of my dads house when she turned 18, she lived with him and his mom. Freaking epic. True Story
Love your tool reactions!!! Can't wait!
The music video for this song is such a trip. Keep it metal. \m/
He visto todas tus reacciones a Tool, me encanta verte, tienes que escuchar right in two y también por favor Culling voices, vas a alucinar
Ur soooo unique... Amazing!!! Really enjoy ur heartful reactions 🖤🔱🧿🤘🏽
Go see them live in an arena. You'll never be the same. Fantastic and authentic review. You guys always make me emotional watching you fall in love with these guys like I did 25 years ago. Music has never been been the same. Be safe
Truer words never spoken. Saw them first time 2 weeks ago. Its a religious experience
My favorite reactor and my favorite band! Thank you Aileen!!!!
"Counting bodies like sheep.." Brilliant reaction 🤘
Love your reactions.
I do love Tool, but if I ever could feel Tool like you do, I would be fulfilled :)
Literal masterclass in bass writing on this song. Fucking insane.
Make sure you catch em on this tour. Tickets went on sale yesterday and today!
Got mine today. Will be my 3rd Tool show.
So happy Vicarious was finally covered. My all time favourite Tool song.
You should check out the band Knives Out! at some point. (particularly the song 'Hysteria')
Great reaction and breakdown to another tool banger
I'm so glad your channel is blowing up! Couldn't happen to sweeter young lady. ✌️ 😘
Can’t wait to see this vicarious is such a good song it blew my mind aswell ❤
I love your analysis, not only on the music but also the philosophies.
And I do have 1 separating opinion...it's not chaos to know moments...it's organized chaos. It works when it works. And it works when it doesn't work. It's not chaos, though...it's extremely controlled but also regardless. And that is what binds the difference.
Now that right there, that's an eargasm ! :D
Girl, I been a tool fan for like 100 years. I've never heard the alarm clock insight. That shit blew my mind. That's why i love your reactions
That 10,000 Days album cover design looks good on you.
She is wearing a piece. Aileen is a ghost. But your observation deserves credit
The actual video for this song is a must see.
You know she’s excited when she starts the quick staccato “uh uh uh”. Love you Aileen keep it up!
Bought tickets for my first Tool show this morning!!! Hope they play this song!!! I might cry😢😂😂
Your Tool reactions are my favorite. Waaaay too long since the last one!
got gooseflesh off your energy (with a little help from Tool). great song. great reaction.
This song hits the man exactly where he should 🖤
The bass tone in this song is *chefs kiss*
Imagine the first time hearing this song was seeing it live at coachella right after the album came out. That ending still gives me chills!
You're makin' some awesome material here. Keep goin'👍👍
For me this one is in the top 5 tool songs for sure! It always hits hard and never ceases to amaze.
Tool is something else... A different Level of Consciousness. It's not just music. It is Magick / Kabbalah, Sacred Science, and Mathematics! Oh, and a HUGE magnifying glass and mirror at the human race!
Tool is absolutely legendary and every one of their tracks are amazing!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
6:50 to 9:00 it is so great to watch the honest reactions. thank you
I had always heard of TOOL growing up and was a hit and miss fan but this song is the one that changed the game for me. I wasn’t allowed to listen to metal music as a kid so I vividly remember hearing that breakdown and the rest as they say is history! Our generations Zeppelin.
Yes beautiful ..big toolarmy noise here🔥❤️🔨
