    Used to refuse to eat healthy food till the time my body got sick. Took 2- 3 years to get back my health through taking research on supplements, chinese herbs & natural food. Easy to hurt your body but takes long time to heal it . Thx for your valuable info

So starting a juicing program is very different than starting a smoothie program, and given that you watched this video, I assume you mean the latter.

    Hi thank you for putting these information out. Very helpful. When you mentioned adding a whole fruit like orange, do I need to squeeze the juice out first?

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +1

      You are most welcome, Meldy. When you add whole fruits, you literally add into your blender the whole fruits, simply sectioned or cut into smaller pieces depending on how big your blender is. You do not squeeze any of the juice or anything like that, as you want both the juices and the pulp and fiber all in there. The blender then does all the work for you.

    Hello I enjoyed your Video! Thank You so much! What kind of water other than spring water can I add? Is all water ok for smoothies?

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  11 місяців тому

      You are very welcome, and thank you for your feedback. Whether you are drinking plain water or using water for smoothies, you should be aiming for the best water source possible. This means whatever water is reasonable for you to get that is safe to not include bacterial or other microbial contamination and is the lowest in toxins (heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, and industrial, agricultural and other chemicals).
      The quality of the water we consume is directly related to our overall health as all cells, tissues and organs depend on it. If you cannot get safe spring water from the Earth, then the next best option is to have a filtration system at home (a unit under the kitchen sink), something like a reverse osomosis that can remove 99% of problems. Plastic bottled water should be a last resort due to its purity concerns, financial costs, and environmental problems. Unfortunately in modern times, safe and healthy water access has become a major challenge for most people, so do the best you can and feel comfortable with.

    I could listen to you all day, thank you for your explanation. I watched and saved your basic smoothie video, it was so nice. I do have a question. If its ok. Im transitioning to vegatarian, hopefully move on to vegan. Ive only been doing it for just over a wk. Ive watched countless video's, decided to go with green smoothie and mostly raw, the one im doing states 1lb of greens per day and 6pints of water, fruit is limited to 35%, firstly here in uk i have to buy 3 packs og greens to get that amount, I'm struggling to drink 6 pints of water, lastly it doesnt taste as nice as your smoothie. Do you have any suggestions please?

    Love your videos thanks for sharing. NUTS. I was enjoying snacking on my walnuts directly from the shell and adding them to my smoothie until I came across videos that says we should SOAK nuts before consuming. I like things simple and soaking before consuming isn't simple. My nuts are sitting there unused for months. Would love to hear your feedback, thanks.

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +2

      Thank you kindly for your feedback. First off, I completely agree with you, simple is best. However, there are certain food practices that simply follow the wisdom of nature in how they benefit our health and wellbeing. Soaking nuts, like beans or grains, is all about "waking them up" biologically and nutritionally. When dry and hard, they are in a "locked up" dormant state in which they contain some nutrient inhibitors, etc. When we add water, we are just doing what nature would via rain to signal to the seed to come back "to life", which is better for our digestion and nutrition.
      In general, very high fat nuts, like walnuts are not the worst case scenario if you don't soak them, but drier and harder ones like almonds and cashews really benefit from soaking. You can learn more from me about this topic in my guide about soaking nuts and seeds: www.evolvingwellness.com/post/do-nuts-and-seeds-have-to-be-soaked-before-eating

    Hello Evita can I ask what is good smoothie for a cancer patient while in the middle of chemo treatment ? Thank you for your reply ! Watching from Scotland ! Stay safe and God bless !

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +1

      With regard to cancer patients, green smoothies are one of the most healing meals to consume because they include leafy greens and fruits, which like all fruits and vegetables are the most healing foods that include anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and many other healing properties. The diet of everyone, but especially cancer patients, should be based on a high amount of fruits and vegetables so any way that you choose to eat them while still keeping them wholesome is the right way to go. You can consume them as part of green smoothies, as part of salads, wraps, and many other meals. The most important thing is that if you wish to heal your body you need to eat a high amount of *fresh* fruits and vegetables - any that you most enjoy and can tolerate eating during chemo.
      There are no special green smoothie recipes because ALL leafy greens and fruits are extremely valuable, helpful, and beneficial, and there is no need to single out one over another. Yes, you can focus on leafy greens, like kale, and fruits, like berries, which tend to be higher in antioxidants and nutrient-density even more so than others, but the idea is just to eat LOTS of whatever leafy greens and fruits are easily available and accessible for you at this time.
      The only thing you may wish to do differently when healing cancer is to also include some herbal boosts, like Moringa, Chlorella, or Spirulina powder, or a medicinal mushroom powder, like Chaga, which are all highly anti-cancerous and healing.
      Best wishes for your health and healing.

    Great video thank you! I've been on this for a couple weeks now and indeed, legumes and veggies are not needed!
    Have you ever tried with homemade iced tea or coffee instead of water? Also what is the best way to have quality water? Thank you again!

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +2

      You are very welcome, and thank you for your feedback. To answer your questions, I have personally not made a green smoothie with any kind of iced tea or coffee because I don't drink these substances to begin with, aside from the very odd herbal tea. However, I have heard from people who commonly like to use green tea or other herbal teas as the liquid of their green smoothie, which is okay if that is what is desired, as long as it is not too medicinal of a tea that is used on a too regular of a basis.
      As for the quality of water, I cover this in my book "Healing & Prevention Through Nutrition", but in general, it all depends on where you live, what is convenient for you to get and in alignment with your priorities, etc. A safe, ground well with good quality water would be the best, along with water from a safe, natural spring from the Earth. You can find springs around the world here: findaspring.com/
      Unfortunately, those two options won't be possible choices for many people, so then one must look towards some kind of good filtration system that meets their needs and works best to solve whatever the quality or problems of their particular municipal water supply are. Filtration systems can cost from tens of dollars to thousands of dollars, so it is a big decision that must be done upon appropriate research. Either way, we should minimize our use of all plastic bottled water as much as possible. Cheers!

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому

      You are very welcome, Angella. That is a big question, much beyond the limitations of UA-cam comments, which requires a complete analysis of your past and present diet and lifestyle, as well as stressors and unhealed traumas. It requires that you work with a trusted and holistic healthcare professional, who can help you unravel and heal all of the areas in your life that are causing you such an extreme amount of stress for your body to manifest such a myriad of symptoms. And much more than diet, the problem and the solution resides in how you are handling your life choices and stresses, as cases like this are all signs from your mind and body that they are overwhelmed.
      Either way, I am currently not taking on any new clients for such consulting services, but I can recommend the following resource, which can at least connect you with a plant-based healthcare provider of your choosing: www.plantbaseddoctors.org/
      I also highly recommend that you consider reading the book "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay here: amzn.to/2CkGqva and the green, pink, and orange books from Lise Bourbeau here: amzn.to/2V16Jx9 which will help you understand what your body is trying to tell you through your symptoms and how to get to the root of healing yourself.
      Best wishes.

    Thank you so much. I was wondering were to get accurate information on how to make optimally healthy smoothies for my three years old son. Please can I use celery n carrots as this isn't a green leaf to make the smoothie?

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Linda, as I mention in the class, vegetables, like carrots and celery are not going to be ideal ingredients if you want to make a delicious smoothie. Carrots will be easier to incorporate, but celery has a very strong flavor that will change the pleasant flavor of the fruit and greens smoothie. It would, therefore, be best to get your son used to eating vegetables like carrots and celery on their own or as part of other meals, in which they go better, to get used to their natural flavors. Again, most kids enjoy carrots, whether raw or cooked, because they have a pleasant flavor, and crunch, and even tend to be naturally sweet when cooked.
      If you must hide these foods in smoothies because he will not eat them otherwise, then sure, do so, as long as he likes the smoothie.
      The bottom line is that there is no danger in giving your son healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, regardless in what meal form you choose them to be in. Whatever gets him to eat them, aside from something blatantly bad, like a fried form.
      For more info, please refer to the smoothie template that I reference in the video: ua-cam.com/video/JL_DIOjZfq0/v-deo.html

    The information here is not just contributing to a better life style choice but perhaps life saving. I have overcome obesity and found a highly effective nutritional support 'cradle' in relation to mental health. In other words I feel absolutely fantastic, a miraculous recovery. With a well maintained and conditioned gut biome, these smoothies not only taste amazing but give a very effective, long lasting nutrient kick. Evita has a fantastic approach to holistic wellbeing. This is no sales gimmick or fad diet with out of context badly quoted science, this is the real deal. It's ironic, so many people believe that healthy foods come with a high price tag. I'm on a low income, so I monitor my spending with vigil. My food bills are low but my quality of life has never been so good, mainly due to diet and nutrition.

    How can we specifically get B12 vitamin for optimal memory and brain health? I am always confused.

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому

      Everyone who is of older age, whether they are eating vegan/plant-based or any other diet, is recommended to take a vitamin B12 supplement in our society today due to the poor digestive health most people have, high stress and inflammation levels, and the unnaturally sterile conditions we live in.
      If a person is specifically a vegan or plant-based eater, *then the easiest and most reliable way to get B12 is simply through a supplement.* In the olden days, we would have gotten this vitamin directly from nature via the natural plant foods we would eat from the Earth thanks to the natural presence of B12 bacteria (these are always present in nature and a welcome addition), through natural and organic plant food farming and cultivation of wild plant foods from the land, as well as drinking natural spring water from the Earth, such as wells, etc. Today, everything is sterilized in one way or another and packaged in numerous ways that no longer make this natural pathway of obtaining B12 reliable or possible.
      Of course, those who have lifestyles that resemble the more natural way of life that I described above, and who work in their own gardens or grow their own food, often choose to depend on that alone for all of their B12 needs. However, this will only apply to a tiny subset of the population today, not to most people.
      But besides a supplement, B12 has other natural plant-based sources and more research is finding that fungi foods, like mushrooms, can be a reliable source of B12 and even certain plant foods, like this one: ua-cam.com/video/QHvRArWglRY/v-deo.html
      Additionally, processed vegan foods and specialty vegan foods, like nutritional yeast, are also reliable sources of B12, as they are fortified.
      As for recommendations for the best B12 supplements, I explain that in this article: www.evolvingwellness.com/post/which-vitamin-b12-methylcobalamin-brand-is-best
      I also recommend going through Dr. Greger's set of resources on B12, which will provide you with even more info: nutritionfacts.org/topics/vitamin-b12/

      Thank you for your nice feedback and comment, Tully. I am currently not creating any new videos for the forseable future, but regardless, yes I hear you. Short videos are preferred by many people online but the tough part about making short videos is that it risks that people do not get enough context and information to properly understand the full picture or scope of a topic. This is one of the biggest information challenges today and reflected in how people make decisions and how our society functions as a whole. A lot of people have bits and pieces of information that creates a lot of misinformation, contradictions, ignorance, division, and other challenges due to having incomplete information, which does not provide enough context and explanation to be properly understood and applied. Will see what I can do if I decide to come back to teaching and creating videos here on UA-cam.

    Can we add the stems of greens to the smoothies? Also if I don't get fresh wheat grass or moringa leaves, can I use the powdered form available off the shelf?

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +1

      You can use the stems of leafy greens, Shilpa, but it is not ideal for two reasons. 1) They give the green smoothie a stronger flavor, which may not be ideal for many people. 2) Unless you have a high-powered blender, you may get chunks of them leftover, making for an unpleasant texture. So try it out yourself to see if using the whole leaves with their stems works for you.
      With regard to wheat grass or moringa, neither of these two are the commonplace leafy greens meant for green smoothies. Wheat grass is meant for juicing, and is best reserved for that purpose. Moringa leaves are fine, if you have access to fresh ones, otherwise you need to rely on a dried, powdered product - can be okay, if you really must have the moringa, but it is not ideal or equivalent to using fresh leafy greens, which is the whole point of green smoothies. Be sure not to fall for the "moringa bandwagon" everyone seems to be on thinking that this is the new fix for their health problems. Keep it simple, and focus most on the leafy greens you can get in your local grocery store or farmer's market.

      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +2

      Sure, if you desire to have oats in your smoothie, then you can do so, assuming enough soaking for the best digestion. I don't normally recommend oats in smoothies because 1) they change the flavor and texture in ways that many do not enjoy, and 2) they are more palatable and easy to eat as an "oatmeal bowl". • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Dennis. Eating a dried, processed, and powdered vegetable is in no way equivalent to eating a real vegetable. It is similar to how some people drink fruit juice and think that it can serve as a replacement for eating real whole fruits. *So how you proceed in this regard will all depend on your health and life priorities.*
      You pointed it out best already, it is a matter of "convenience." And so we just have to be mindful of the fact that what has been made "convenient" in our society, where our food and diet are concerned, is often NOT in alignment with optimal health and longevity. This is where it comes down to the big choice of whether we are eating and living to "survive" or to "thrive", as I mentioned at the start of the class.
      Nothing beats the health and nutritional value of fresh fruits and vegtetables, and specifically ones that have not even been blended to become green smoothies, that we can chew properly, which is what our bodies benefit from most. If one is stuck in outer space, then yes, powdered products like this may be a necessity, but when you have access to eat real food, it is in your best interest for so many more reasons than I can describe in a simple UA-cam comment to choose the real food. Our society will make all sorts of products and call many things advancements, yet certain essential and timeless things that are best for us cannot be replaced.

    • @Healthytarian

      Doris, whenever I hear about cases like the one you are dealing with, I can tell you right off the start that the root of the problem is in your levels of stress in your life. When the digestive system, and especially the intestines, fail to function properly and overreact to healthy foods, the problem ALWAYS starts with mental/emotional stress, and not with anything diet-related. The following article, is just one of many, that can provide you with more info about this: www.aine-marie.com/2018/12/16/emotional-stress-and-leakygut/
      This is why the diet in these cases is also not the ultimate solution or thing to focus on, rather, it is secondary. Sure, a bad diet will aggravate symptoms, while a good diet will help to alleviate some of your symptoms. But the ultimate solution is to do some serious inner work and examine what levels of stress and trauma you have been exposed to starting from childhood, and how YOU have been coping with these and handling them over the years. How happy are you with your work? your relationships? yourself? your life purpose? These are the things you should be focusing on most and changing accordingly to help yourself heal. *How you are digesting life is clearly overwhelming you, and much deeper help is required here.* Splitting hairs over certain foods and elimination diets are only going to make your life more stressful in most cases and not offer the effective healing that is needed.
      Either way, you cannot get proper help to such a vast and chronic health issue over a youtube comment. You should be committing to a long-term journey of working with someone who can help you figure out and process all these things, especially all of your fears and anxieties associated with the areas I mentioned above. I am currently not offering any personalized health consultation services, but I highly recommend that you connect with a *holistic psychotherapist*, or at the very least some kind of *life coach* to help you sort things out. A general dietitian and GP or specialist are only going to give you the mainstream medical and reductionist advice and care in this case, which will result in elimination diets, drugs, and possibly other medical procedures. So if you want a holistic, deep, and effective treatment, you have to go to those experts who understand those kinds of areas.
      You can do a simple web search to find such a local or global health expert that you can connect with based on who resonates with you. At the very least, if you go with dietary changes only, then I highly recommend exploring the following directory to connect with a plant-based healthcare provider who will be better able to balance your diet in a healthy manner: www.plantbaseddoctors.org/
      Best wishes!

    I'm curious what you think about the fact that experts in the field of protein and aging recommend a protein intake between 1.2 and 2.0 g/kg/day or higher for elderly adults, because protein assimilation diminishes as we age, and protein is essential for immunity, muscle maintenance, and physical function. For a 135 pound person, this amounts to about 74-122g protein per day, or 25-40g per meal. Could any green smoothie provide this much protein without the addition of protein powder?

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 місяці тому +1

      Those claims and numbers are commonly put out by the mainstream medical community, which only knows health and nutrition through *reductionist* and *materialist* methodologies. They are only looking at one variable through a very narrow lens, when in truth how we digest and assimilate any nutrient from our food varies drastically and depends entirely on our health and overall lifestyle. If one has poor health in their elderly years, and especially poor kidney and liver health, as well as intenstinal issues, then no amount of protein is going to be protective. On the contrary, high protein diets for aging and ailing livers and kidneys, are likely to cause more harm than good. The point is, these types of claims are narrow, reductionist and miss the holistic aspect of life, which is how our bodies and food function - as a whole of integrated parts, not in isolation.
      Assuming a person is not starving themselves but eating a normal, relatively healthy diet of basic variety, whether that is plant or animal-based, then muscles directly work on a "use it or lose it" manner. The biggest problem with people in our society, especially the elderly is that they do not have enough movement and physical exercise in their lives. This is what they are most in need of, and not a lack of protein or needing more protein.
      Excessive protein amounts, such as the numbers pushed by such "experts", are a risky gamble one is taking with their health, and good health will never be achieved by following any numbers. If you really want good advice about any nutrient or health topic, you always need to look for the "whole" picture that integrates ALL variables that shape our health and not just variables in isolated, which always give a skewed or faulty conclusion.
      For another perspective about the "science" of protein and aging, Dr. Michael Greger shares this video: ua-cam.com/video/nBjC0NobO-Q/v-deo.html
      Best wishes with your health and being able to find clarity and confidence in your body's inner wisdom, rather than any external numbers.

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому +2

      You are very welcome, Fiona. I will answer your questions below:
      1. Re: Spinach and mineral blocking
      Sometimes people focus on talking about oxalates in spinach and how these can contribute to blocking certain minerals. However, this is not a concern from a holistic perspective and is mostly based on reductionist ideas that study certain compounds in foods in isolation. However, our food and its nutrients do not exist in isolation, they exist as a whole package. And as a whole package, nature-created food is properly suited to the needs of our human body. We do not need to fear or worry about these kinds of things when eating a healthy and nutritious diet. For more info about oxalates in spinach and mineral concerns, please refer to my guide here: www.evolvingwellness.com/post/a-holistic-guide-to-lectins-phytates-and-oxalates-for-healthy-eating
      2. Re: Cucumbers for green smoothies
      Cucumbers are not ideal vegetables (fruits) for green smoothies given their very watery composition AND flavor. Cucumbers are best for making juices via juicers and for salads or dips. As I explain the class, near the end of the video, technically you can use any vegetable you like in a green smoothie BUT this is not recommended because they alter the flavor and/or composition of the green smoothies in unfavorable ways. There are much better ways to eat and enjoy cucumbers than putting them into green smoothies.
      3. Re: Frozen fruit and sugar
      Unless the frozen fruit you are looking at HAD ADDED SUGAR to it (check the ingredients for this), then that sugar amount on the nutrition label should be of no concern whatsoever, as these are whole natural fiber-rich fruit sugars. These are not the sugars we should ever be concerned about BUT because frozen fruit gets a nutrition label, as opposed to most fresh fruit, it is making you think that frozen fruit is high in sugar, when this is the normal and natural amount of sugar in all fruits. I recommend you consider taking my "Get to Know Your Food" online video course here: bit.ly/2Pf7IGz where I teach people how to make the most of nutrition label reading and not get caught up on the wrong things. When we focus on isolated nutrients and their numbers on nutrition labels, again, this is a reductionistic approach, not a holistic one, which gives us a VERY FAULTY view and understanding of our food. Nutrition labels were made for PROCESSED foods, and when they are applied to whole natural plant foods, as in the case of fruits, they often do more harm than good. Weight loss is going to be helped not hurt by having a diet high in fruits. For effective weight loss you need to look at the processed and animal foods in your diet, and working on removing those, not fruits. In addition, weight loss via food alone will not be fully effective unless you also incorporate a healthy amount of physical activity into your days and examine your stress, which causes hormones to go out of balance that cause your body to gain and hold onto weight for protection.
      For more info about fruits and fruit sugars, please refer to the following article I provide, with many more links of info at the bottom of it: www.evolvingwellness.com/post/fruits-perfect-food-for-humans

      Hello Tola, it sounds like you would benefit from a thorough consulation about your current and past health and diet history to determine what is really going on, beyond any autoimmune illness, and how to bring about balance back to your health by beneficial dietary and lifestyle changes. When the body starts to not tolerate healthy foods or a lot of different foods, that is a clear sign that there are a lot of stresses and imbalances present in the body that require appropriate attention and healing. A UA-cam comment is not going to suffice in such complex cases, and I would recommend connecting with a holistic plant-based professional of some kind to get the proper care you require. You can find one here if you don't know where to start: www.plantbaseddoctors.org/
      As for drinking greens moothies long-term, that is possible but it depends on the overall quality of the rest of your diet. Nothing beats eating solid real whole plant food "as is" meaning unblended and unprocessed, where our teeth can do the chewing and the entire digestive process is properly and fully engaged. One green smoothie a day can be easily depended on long-term, but to drink them twice or three times daily long-term would need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis. For very ill people, where a liquid diet is needed, they may be the saving grace. But if you are able to chew and digest most plant foods, then you should balance your intake of smoothies with solid food. Best wishes for your healing journey!

    If I make enough smoothie for two to three glasses at once on a Monday, can I keep in fridge till Wednesday? Can I freeze an already made smoothie?

    • @Healthytarian
      @Healthytarian  3 роки тому

      It is really best to make the green smoothies fresh because you are using extremely valuable and sensitive ingredients - fruits and vegetables, and the longer they sit in any kind of "processed" form (i.e. cut, blended, cooked, etc.) the more they break down. The smoothie will still be fine, it won't go bad, but you are not getting the same level of nutrients from the smoothie on Wednesday, as you would on Monday. So think of it like an investment, you get more out of it when you use it fresh and each day that it sits it provides you with less.
      Therefore, I don't recommend storing a smoothie for more than 24 hours in the fridge in a sealed container because you get the most nutrients out of it and best flavors when it is fresh. You could freeze it, but then you are subjecting it to more processing and nutrient loss during the blending, freezing, thawing processes.
      Given that these smoothies take only a few minutes to make, it is really worth it to make it a habit to make them fresh each day when you wish to drink one. Think of it as part of your self-care routine.

    • @Healthytarian

      Carol, green smoothies, like the ones I talk about in the video, are just like eating some fruits and leafy greens, which are the MOST ideal foods for the prevention and healing of ALL diseases, cancer included. Unless a person has a specific allergy or intolerance to some specific fruit or vegetable, or specific instructions from their doctor to avoid a certain food for their condition, there is no reason to fear your fruits, vegetables, or any green smoothies made with them. The same goes for other whole plant foods - legumes, grains, nuts, and seeds, as these are the most nutrient-dense foods and offer the most health benefits. The only thing to keep in mind is to not overdo any nut and seed amounts, as they are high in calories and high in fat, so too much is not good whether we are healthy or sick, unless one is very physically active or a growing child.
      I empathize with you, Carol, because the internet, and UA-cam especially are full of so much junk info that ranges from useless at best to dangerous at worst, and *the viewer truly must take personal accountability today for their own choices before using anyone else's advice.* You need to keep things in perspective of who is giving you what info, what are their qualifications, why should you believe or trust what they are saying, etc. Unfortunately, a lot of people out there today who make videos on UA-cam do not take responsibility for the info they dispense to others and talk from their own fears, preferences, and biases, which steer others in the wrong direction and proliferate destructive ideas.
      This is why I recommend staying away from ALL of the FADS - fad foods, fad diets, fad supplements, etc. If it is being marketed, if it is being claimed as some kind of miracle item, then you can be pretty sure there is some problem there and it should be avoided, or at the very least researched super thoroughly via many sources.
      Either way, your question has entire books written about the topic, but in the end, the summary is very simple. *Eat real, whole foods, specifically plant foods, and out of those the most eaten should be fruits and vegetables, because these are the foods that have the most healing and preventative properties without causing our bodies harm and toxicity, the way ALL processed, refined, and animal foods do.* In addition, there is much more to healing and preventing cancer than diet. A deep analysis of your entire lifestyle is required and some kind of a process for healing your mental and emotional wounds that are at the root of every single disease that manifests in our bodies.
      For more help and info, I recommend you start by watching the film "The Cure Is..." here: vimeo.com/106390062

      Thank you for your concern. I stopped teaching on UA-cam or uploading any videos here because of how UA-cam has changed over the past few years in all the wrong ways.

    I would probably disagree with a statement that protein powder isn't needed. For someone who is working physically a lot, protein powder during the activity and day after is a lifesaver. If not added to the smoothie, the hunger is unbearable the next day. Here I am talking about someone on a raw vegan diet.

      Thanks for sharing your experience, Den. I encourage each person to take responsibility for their own health via the choices they make. If protein powder is what you choose to consume, then so be it. However, if one is eating a raw vegan diet because they feel it is the most "natural" way to eat and live, while being active as would be common for our ancestors and closest animal relatives to this day, then protein powder is not part of that equation, as it is a modern, fabricated product, which did not and does not exist in nature, nor are isolated nutrients natural or optimal for our human body.
      As someone who also has experience eating raw vegan and being active, I would encourage you to re-examine what you are eating and how much you are eating to find satiety through natural foods, instead of relying on unnatural, fabricated products. You are clearly wanting the best for your body given the choices you are making, so a little more effort can go a long way. If you haven't already, explore the potentials of soaked nut or seed, spreads and sauces, which are high in calories, high in protein, and can be added to in liberal amounts to any sweet, savory, spicy, or any other kind of raw vegan meal. Raw crepes, raw flatbreads, raw crackers, and similar food items are also very filling and naturally high in protein, and even more so when coupled with a raw nut/seed spread. Best wishes to you!

      The ideas we believe about our food have been conditioned upon us from birth. As we grow and learn new, updated, or better things, it is in our best interest to change. If we solidify our ideas about any topic, then we simply limit ourselves and become prisoners of our own minds. The more you can open up your mind and consider new viewpoints, the more you are capable of empowering yourself and thinking for yourself. Best wishes for your health, Darlia!

Hopefully I can just better understand as my body responds and I think I just might get this I really appreciate the comment!

      Temmy, thanks for your feedback but please understand that this is my teaching style and this is the purpose of my videos. If you do not enjoy them, that is totally okay with me, and I encourage you to find videos from other people you will enjoy. Everyone has different learning needs and preferences, and you need to find what works for you, rather than ask people to change to suit your needs.

      You can listen and pause or remember you can save to listen later. Later can be when traveling, relaxing etc.You need information to give you reasons why and why not to consume certain foods. We need information. Have a beautiful day.
