Chris story is incredible. I am moved and awestruck. He has conquered fear and gone beyond normal human boundaries. I'm glad I found his story .
If I was the academy award committee, each and every actor in these series would have had an Oscar. They're by far the best actors in any motion pictures company. Better than any of these overpaid Hollywood A-lists. I salute you Chris Moon. You're a legend.

What an absolute beast. This guy is phenomenal. Love it! His colleagues definitely think so too. Such a big heart. When he said he thought about his organization losing funding if he died. Just shows how selfless he is.
He sacrificed everything to help Rhodes people, almost losing his life but then losing his hand and leg;
HE IS THE BRAVE ONE, THE TRUE HERO AND A REAL WARRIOR;;!

I was fortunate enough to hear him speak. Many years ago now but I remember what he said.
I was looking for a motivational speaker , found this and took the opportunity to watch this.
Just as awe stuck now as I was all those years ago. So glad more people get to hear/ see his story.
That would be the speaker of the year, and I’ve never heard him speak. But I can imagine; I can only imagine.

I feel this was the key to his survival. It was his behaviour, small ones and larger ones, that determined the way his captors would treat him. A very evolved and resilient man, Chris Moon is.

Watching this makes me feel the radicals in the US are no big deal. The people in this Country (and those in this program) suffered horrific things, and I feel I was meant to be reminded of that. May those who live this existence the world over be blessed at last...that suffering ends.
The radicals will go as far as you let them. Given the right circumstances, many people have Khmer Rouge potential.
You think when you have so many problems that your the only one with problems. Not so. There is always someone who has it worse then you. I am on a hospital bed at home, have been for years and always in pain. The thought that keeps me going, is thinking I am taking all this for someone else, maybe a child. That thought keeps me going because I rather it be me instead of someone else.

@Robert Scott Christ, I'm aware of our past empire building atrocities mate, it's not relevant. This man was there for humanitarian reasons, and he risked his own life for the native people. Thanks but I don't need a history lesson.
Especially an incredible man after all he went trough. Most other men lose it after going trough such horrors. Not only he didn t lost it ,but he is incredible as a man more then other people that didn t went trough what he did.

You still better than me. I wouldn't have been there in the first place. I was just telling my brother today- I've spent most of my life as a civil rights activist- but that's my limit. I'm just an activist, I'm no hero. Never have been, never will be. There are some truly amazing people out here doing some truly amazing things.

Anyone that loses and arm and a leg and still wants to remove minds is a hero to me!

I am moved. . . .At 48:12 The reality is that we have the capacity to go beyond that point if we believe we can, and many of the challenges that I faced have been about having the confidence to say right I won't give in. I don't know if I'll make it but I would never give up. I would just take one more step, one more step and maybe that's what the journey of life is all about- about keepin' on going. Wow amazing when Chris/Ben describes the moments when his leg was blown off and the excruciating pain that makes the death an attractive option.
It's crazy that this is exactly what people feel when they're depressed. I only know because it has happened to me a few times and been studying what is it exactly that I'm experiencing.
It sounds like the very same thought process for the same reason yet of a different cause. Here physical and depression is emotional.
I always thought a strong survival instinct kicks in during physical injuries at all times.
Really interesting and counter intuitive.
And yes, then when you make a decision to live and find at least one reason why, the perspective suddenly changes and you get the energy to push through one more day.
