Jeremy is a real hero. How he managed everything with an artificial hip is amazing. An artificial hip doesn't have the same range of motion as a natural one, the hardware conducts and draws the icy cold right down inside the bone and he was fortunate not to dislocate it. I'm glad they both made it. True brotherly love!
Its too bad his communication skills are none existant. Only reason brother is injured is he decided to "read" his actions instead of just talking out loud to cooperate.
Why did he unnecessarily rapell into the water?
@@ermac6466 men lol glad they both made it out.
Apparently when they went hiking they didn't bring common sense with them. That's the problem. No empathy for them from me.
The moment the weather started looking bad they should have shelved the trip. People need to be more flexible in their minds.
I was thinking the same. Don't take chances just for the heck of it.
It seemed like they could’ve slept safely before the repel.
welcome to Utah
I feel so bad for Jeremy. So much guilt but he really came through in the end. I hope he realizes how his strength saved his brother’s life.
Yeah, after he let go of him with no communication from his bro to do such a thing
I hope that anyone who does remote camping, climbing or hiking get a personal locator beacon and carries the proper supplies to survive unforeseen events.
So sorry he lost his leg, but glad the brothers survived.
I teared up when Justin got to talk to his wife after he'd been rescued. He seems like a massive teddy bear. I bet he's a great Dad and husband.
lol
@@LittleJinsoyun What's funny?
I did some rappelling around 35 years ago with my SCUBA club and forgot how technical it was. I went off and did a bit of reading to refresh my memory about how to retrieve your ropes, the knots you use, all the gear, etc. Was a nice trip down memory lane. I always do a bit of research when I watch shows like this to understand better what they went thru, and whatnot.
Funny, I'll stop while watching these also and look stuff up.
I read the news articles from the time period.
Volunteer paramedic, meaning she's probably not getting paid to save lives. What a great human being.
Very great woman. ☺✌
Where she gets her money from then?
VOLUNTEER WORK IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE LOOKED DOWN ON, THIS LADY DID A WONDERFUL JOB
I'm not sure how that works. They call them volunteer firemen and EMTs, but I think they do get paid. They're just not full time and maybe get paid less than the regulars.
@@Davids-cc9sn volunteer firefights do not get paid
Two amazingly strong Brothers, absolute respect for their courage.
People need to stop putting themselves in these kind of situations in the 1st place! So glad the younger brother decided to turn back & found the car!
It ain't living if you're just afraid of dying.
Very true
They should have to pay for costly resources!!!
Couldn’t agree with you more. It’s not about having no sense of adventure or afraid to live, it’s about putting other people who rescue you in life threatening situations.
Wait. So no hiking? Stay at home and watch TV? Doesn't sound like much a life.
Who else was afraid he had lost the keys to the vehicle....
Yay
Yeah
Yup
Man, that part had me on the edge of my chair!
I thought they were in the backpack he dropped
Jeremy's stamina and perseverance are off the charts! His brother is fortunate that he had him in his corner. Yes, your internal bearings can become skewed under emotional and physical stress under those conditions but Jeremy was beyond amazing in his ability to push on and conquer when he could have easily lost his own life. Cheers to you Jeremy for saving your brother's life, never giving up and climbing through those canyons in the dark with a hip replacement and freezing cold! And cheers to you Warren for your strength and determination to stay alive in those conditions! You two must have an amazing bond
Warren? Who's that?
Man, you aren’t wrong. That dudes stamina is literally super human. I remember when I took my 5th degree black best test back in 2017. We essentially had to do stamina drills in sand. I barely lasted 7 hours. This guy did what I would consider tougher exertion for 26 hours…it honestly amazes me. I honestly don’t think I could’ve done it. Not in a million years. I’d probably die at the halfway mark lol
Painful but sweet story !!!! Lovely brotherhood!
The reacting is so heart wrenching to watch can you imagine what the real guys went through.
It’s so hard not to read the comments while watching but then it just gives every upcoming detail away 😬
Yeah, because idiots can't resist the urge to spoil it..
I don’t care I read while I watch
@@melaniesilva8182That's sad. So many people these days addicted to multitasking.
The brothers are very lucky to be alive. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing they both survived. What an awful situation to go through.
this seems like a spiritual agreement that the two souls made before coming into life as brothers. They both now have suffered from major injuries to the legs. They are close on another level now, this bond will go on through lifetimes. Beautiful story
They are definitely in the same soul group.
Lifetimes?
After watching tons of these kinds of stories i now know to bring extra supplies when possible and always a *way to contact for help.* (cell phone, flare gun, walky talky, radio, etc.) Ill never take any chances now!
Edit: I teared up when Jeramy was talking about what being a brother meant to him. Their bond is beautiful and it touched my heart. 💗
Yes, that's true and always watch out for your surroundings. Never underestimated of anything. Don't risk your life if you feel unsure and unsafe.
There are personal locator beacons that can be tracked by satellite. No one going into remote areas should be without one.
@@cyndifoore7743 I've often thought the same when watching these, people who ski seem to use them, they are a life saver.
Satellite phones???
Cell phones now offer satellite calling abilities so a rescue call can be made even out of range
43:27 when he talks about actually getting to see the canyon they did all this to see I started cracking up. This guy is my spirit animal .. so glad they both survived
"mY sPiRiT aNiMaL"
Sthu.
@@Gameboy-Unboxings well that was kind of mean 😅
There are places in nature where animals dont go but we always think we are smarter.
There is absolutely no way I can express how lucky we are to live in a nation where people are so wonderful. In all the program I have seen like this, Americans are the most carrying, concerned, and helpful people I have seen. The agencies we provide are spectacular in their abilities and professionalism. We are truly blessed.
That's so tragic he lost his leg (it's amazing they both survived, though.. especially after his brother got lost). I've only seen a few episodes of this show, and at least half of the ones I've watched have involved someone losing their leg..
God's way of telling them to stop going out to dangerous places!?
Lucky it's just one leg
🙈 😭 🙏 tragic indeed.
@@y.r.9401 no its just typical dumbmuricans, this show should be renamed to "We are the dumbmuricans" HAHA! always a 0 IQ dumb murican in every episode LEL
Why go spoil the ending for?
No need to write that he lost his leg you have spoilt the end of the video.
Anybody elses legs start tingeling when he brole his ankle ?
Why can't they just go for a walk in the park? It's safer and easier to go for help.
Because some people actually want to LIVE life.
The guy getting stabbed at the park probably regrets not going hiking instead.
Exactly. Ppl like this should stay in the city. All they needed was a fire.
You can read about "missing hikers" and "hiker found dead" on the internet every day. It is obvious why this happens - people take serious risks, like these two guys.
Why didn't they show the "last" pictures they took of each other?? You'd think that people would wanna see that..
Maybe the brothers didn't want to share those?
It was probably so pitifully depressing they didn't want to show it
Maybe the camera didn’t end up coming back with them
My heart goes out to those two I feel so bad for them and what they went thru I’m glad they made it thru🙏🏽🙏🏽
It would have been wiser to stop and rest at night if you didn't have a map and didn't know the place. No matter what, Jeremy is a real super hero.
Super amazing series! Fantastic actors 👏
What a Brotherhood. Love you guys
l almost cry l can feel what they feel thanks for sharing
Jeremy is some kind of amazing. All that on an artificial hip, great guy 💪
Excellent series, thank you.
The way they look at each other at the end had tears running down my face
Yeah I've never looked at my brother like that. I said to myself just kiss already 💋😆. But in all seriousness, the bond they built through that experience is very special.
They never show it, but most of these disasters must have a moment where somebody says, "I told you so!!!!"
The part where the brothers are saying goodbye, for what they don't know might be the last time, made me tear up so bad. I'm glad they have each other, and that they made it out. ❤️
Carry a camera but no emergency help or phone on stand by
This whole series has only little life footage. Most of it is made like they do with movies. Most times the only real footage are pictures and sometimes some rescue shots.
I'm trying to understand the earring
Even if they didn't run out of daylight, how is this ever a fun day even in the best of circumstances. No thanks! Glad they made it out!
Brotherly love for sure!
This place should be off limits to anyone except professionally trained outdoorsmen or hired certified guides to take people in and out. Insane terrain.
Disagree, once we start limiting access for credentials is the moment we monetize public lands
Restricting for safety does not mean monetization pal. Safety and lives before everything else. Everest and K2 shoukd also be restricted to professionals only. Other places as well. People matter, land does not.
Hey, you guys, I appreciate the bonding time, but how about a football game next time?
Crazy time of year to do some epic bonding.
meanwhile, other subjects of the same species just slip on an unshoveled driveway, walk into poles, can't walk for an hour..... amazing. the aliens watching us must be really confused. 😁
One thing I've learned about this series: if I ever do something adventurous, bring a fn emergency beacon, satellite phone, flares, mirror or some gps gadget. I want to enjoy my adventure, not be on this show with a near death experience 🤣
Right?
And as soon as you get in the first water pool they all disfunction and become an extra weight, IF you were lucky enough to keep that equipment pack intact before that. Then?
@@robertwilliam5527 Right. Tons of water in a desert environment. I'll pack my lifejackets and inflatable raft as well. Clown.
@@MISTERKIC Clown? Sitting cozy in a cluttered room typing on a keyboard and acting "smart" isn't the same as facing the fury of nature. btw, don't forget a second toothbrush just in case.
"Tons of water in a desert environment", watch the story again. Clown.
@@robertwilliam5527 You win. I'm out 😊. 🤡
Extremely common "lost person behavior" is typically forging forward in a panic, not stopping to ealuate/reevaluate, and almost never backtracking once in unrecognizer/ unfamiliar territory. Beware this.
can't backtrack up canyon after those free hanging rappels. you're committed. No one from Utah goes canyoneering past mid october in Utah unless you're a landlocked sea kayaker
I can't believe Justin and Jeremy were OK I can't believe their alive
Yeah.... Breaking an arm or leg is terrible and extremely painful Extremely... I’ can only imagine what happened... just wrapping up everything right is about all they can do.. scary stuff.. always be prepared for everything that can go wrong
Amazing!
Those places are death traps, waiting silently, to ensnare the foolish...
Great video 📸😃
Couple of time, i have cried with much tears in eyes..,,
hahaha
Never repelled before or put a harness on before this day? No GPS or waterproof satellite phone? Totally prepared for emergencies 🙄
People hike to get away from the city and just relax BUT you have to plan your movements before you go into nature.
Every. Single. Time. I always get made fun of for being an over-preparer. I swear I prepare more for a day trip to an apple orchard than most people on these shows prepare for hiking in the wilderness. I can’t believe how these people just run off totally unprepared...
J McIntosh My neighbours are surprised that I even prepare for electricity blackouts ,so I totally understand the "over preparing" that you do 😉
Ego and testosterone definitely played a part in the near death of these two. Happy they learned a valuable lesson and decided not to go through another canyoneering trip!
Exactly. No rescue beacon and no wetsuits. Never even rappelled once before going on a serious canyoneering trip in November. Total irresponsible idiots.
Amazing story. Definitely a reminder to keep your head cool and avoid get-there-itis.
Those guys really do love each other. ❤
Great actors
The messes we get ourselves in...
Boys!! The brothers I’m sad n mad for them at the same time
I notice these shows always seem to feature men. I don't think women feel the need to prove themselves in this way.
Do these people EVER think about bringing emergency beacons or comm devices, if you are doing dangerous climbs in cold temps, it just makes common sense, please use some common sense out there people.
Incredible......that female paramedic must've seemed an angel .
The USA has so many amazing people , who too often get snowed under by vile propagandist media willing to please Washington.
I know how you feel. I once fot lost in IKEA and it took 4 days to be rescued
Bhahahah 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂🇸🇪
your cute avatar makes it more funny
You really can get lost in IKEA! 😆 "Wait, haven't I been through this bathroom before? I'm going in circles! 😫"
Finally! An episode where after an almost fatal experience, they decide to give up that hobby.
Seems like the Grand Canyon is no joke..
I love your documentaries ❤️
It’s a tv show
The people on UA-cam are just re posting a tv show
Even driving there and when they stopped and asked u ready for this? I would've said yo!! I'm going home putting on a movie and sipping on my beer!!!!😅
Wow they were so very lucky to survive x what an episode ...
I hope those weren't the real names and dates of birth for his children.
I Couldn't understand why people go climbing or exploring forest or diving into ocean without enough Equipment which save from any danger
Oh man, guys stay home love your family.
I really can't understand why people visit these type of places?...why do people never learned from other's difficult experiences?....
I rather my husband lose his leg instead of his life.
How these guys made it is a miracle.
Your hip been replaced and your hiking in the cold I can guess the rest
I need to have my right shoulder replaced. I intend on going to the grand canyon right from the hospital. Should be alot of fun.
Clearly you can’t guess the rest because the guy with the hib replacement turned out to be the hero in this instance and not the burden. ✌️
You are right
👌
The sheer stupidity of the decision embark on this treck makes it hard for me to have any sympathy.
He must of driven somewhere to get a cell phone signal. What a harrowing experience.
yeah why they didn't explain that
May be they did not have it back then? What year did it happen?
Why people do these dangerous things is beyond me. why go they put themselves in this type of danger is insane
Because life is worth nothing ... until you do something with it ...
I think finishing a difficult hike must give them a feeling of accomplishment. Plus there's the excitement of the risk. I'd rather just watch the video though!
@@gmy33 Like lose it?
@@Joelswinger34 if there is something to gain .. there is probably something to loose
I don't understand why they went from one problematic situation to another, even when wet and freezing cold- just to maintain their schedule. Why didn't they pitch a tent, start a fire and get dry and warm?
They didn’t have a tent or any supplies or even natural materials for fire. It’s wet and cold. There’s no wood even if there was wood, it would be wet, they wouldn’t be able to get a fire going
hard to watch when i have 2 boys. I hope they will continue to be as close as these guys when they are older.
That looks like Goblin Valley with all the hoodoos. I know there are some slot canyons like Little Wild Horse Canyon about 5 miles from Goblin Valley.
Safe and sound 🙏🏼
Too many ads to enjoy these anymore. Every 1 minute? Excessive.
Get UA-cam Premium. It's glorious. Not an ad in sight.
people should travel without climbing, walk or hard surfaces where things are compromised , or go far away from the main entrance
Well - thankfully Justin gained his senses and didn’t jump. Could have ended very differently as even if he survived there would be no backtracking.
The younger brother actor looks like Peeta from Hunger games.. 😎
Who started chopping onions?!
Wow what a great job by his younger brother wish he would waited till early morning till leaving his brother
They probably both were thinking he'd die that night. They had no idea his brother would had been able to last 2 days in freezing temperatures. Its sad to know though that his brother's leg might had been saved had he not missed the canyon exit. At least he lived.
Dam ,teared up a wee bit ,as my little brother has a pole for a femur bone, Warrior people ❤️
Jeremy you did a great and Nobel thing you are the man ol son
When we go out on adventure. We always bring supplies and beer lots of beer.
What are you doing there in the first place....stay home to stay safe
I really wonder where that little mouse came from? Did he have a little, warm burrow deep beneath the snow? Did he come out to see what all the commotion was about? Made a fine little companion.
Yes, lets go have fun in a canyon today!
Wow! Didn’t know I was going to get a little teaser of the video with these awesome ads! Exactly what I clicked on this video for smh
😂
C'mon now, just cough up that $15/mo for Premium and quit complaining about free stuff.
What year was this happened ?
wow! lucky to be alive for sure!
Jeremy really tried hard he shouldn't be guilty
Absolutely a lot harder than most of us could
They should have taken the hiking boot off . If you're going to go in a canyon make sure you know the way out!
It is so hard to read the comments and watch the video
I swear most stories are from the Canyon...Hope nobody goes there in our days
