      This series is produced so well, it's like you're right there. You find yourself cringing, pulling in your legs to avoid getting them smashed by that rock. Animal planet supposedly had "behind the scenes" on their website but it's all gone now. I would love to see behind the scenes how all these episodes were made.

    It's so tragic that he lost his legs.. I kinda figured that would happen from the beginning (if the pressure was strong enough to snap a tree, it likely pulverized his legs to the point where the nerve and tissue damage was irreparable). At least he survived (like the Doctor said, he could've died in so many ways from the physical shock/problems with circulation/blood or fluid loss/septic shock/etc.). His physical fitness is likely what gave his body the strength and endurance necessary to stabilize itself through all that trauma. I'm glad he's alive. He's an inspiration for everyone who faces adversity (especially extremely traumatic adversity that comes out of nowhere.. as it often does).

    It's so odd to me that he went to such ridiculous efforts in the middle of the night to avoid peeing in the river? I mean, what does he think the surrounding wildlife are doing? It's going to make no difference whatsoever.
    To lose your legs over such a decision however is extremely harsh!

    • @karenadya
      @karenadya 2 роки тому +4

      That was extremely bizarre, I agree. In the tropics with rushing creeks and rain and animals everything is constantly getting dispersed, filtered, circulated, and recycled. Going 50 meters away in the night is absurd.

    Obviously if either one had been alone in that place and got trapped under a rock like that they'd have been a gonner. Actually, if water has gotten over the top of the rock without drowning him, they might have been able to lift it. You can lift MUCH more weight when the weight is under water.
    Moral of this story, always bring a 50 ton hydraulic jack with you when you go into the woods where rocks are all around.
    Warren is unstoppable. Nothing could stop this man from accomplishing something he wants to do. Climbing Kilimanjaro with no lower legs proves it. Geert is quite the iron man himself. Going high gear, wide open, pedal to the metal for days for a guy he just met. They were both fortunate to have met each other.
