Carl is a special soul, I believe. He´s struggling to survive and still thinks of other people´s wellbeing. We need more Carls if we want humans to continue existing
govt psyop
be a carl
@@theyredistortingyourrhythm130 Seriously?
When there where more Carl's, we would need less Jimmy's!!
Spot on!
Carl was a hero. I praise his decision to hike into the African bush. That decision he made helped save the lives of his fellow colleagues. Sad Costa died a few years later. I feel he too was a hero.
yeah sad, he died trying to save a sick patient.
It really made me cry that pilot died later ....even after seeing so much of Miseries he still died with same thing ..
bad pilot...
carl duplessis soft-spoken voice had me crying.his tears of relief at the end is beautiful.

As part of the activities for the Duke of Edinburgh Award in 1997, we went on a school camping trip and got stranded for four days in what was then called Mabuasehube National Park in the Kalahari Desert, after our vehicle broke down. There were about eight of us, including our geography teacher and programme leader. Luckily, we had plenty of food and water, and our only worry was keeping wild animals away, which we successfully did with several fires.
We always believed help would come. We kept the atmosphere jovial by singing and playing the guitar. We were rescued by the excellent BDF (Botswana Defence Force), with Lieutenant General Ian Khama leading the rescue team. Khama went on to become Botswana's president from 2008 - 2018. 😊
The ordeals of physical and mental torture which these passengers underwent while travelling in that plane is really ineffable. Hats off to their courage and strength & heartfelt condolences to that pilot.
One thing you need to learn from this is that, if challenges or problems come your way, you don't have to just give up and sit in it and cry, you have to work your last breath out of it till you over come it. It's better to die fighting your way out of it than to just sleep in it and die
Amen to that.
Word! That's all I can say: word up!
All right fake badasses... So easy to say that in the warm confort of your beds... Lets see how you will truly react facing ineminaginable pain, wih no Hope alone in the wild... Lets see if just go to sleep peacefuly instead of being devoured alive by hyenas is not a better option then...
I am from Botswana. They crushed in a very unforgiving environment that is very hot with temperatures reaching 42 degrees celcius in summer, dangerous wild animals and least populated. Its a miracle they all survived the ordeal.
If anyone is wondering that’s 107.6 Fahrenheit! 😮
Del Even if it helped only one person I’m happy to help out, no big deal :).

What were the odds of Carl, in that vast expanse of wilderness, spotting the straight line, making the right decision on which of the two ways to go and then walk directly to the hunter's hut which just happened to be occupied at that moment? I believe that Lynette's prayers are what brought them under divine protection.
its a nice thought, but they survived out of luck. Many others in similar situations in history surely would have prayed just the same, but they did not make it out alive.
Absolutely 🙏
Funny you mention Lynette. I immediately felt she was responsible. She implicated herself.
Thank you Jesus for your great mercy and love.
Yeah there is no evidence that praying increases your chances of survival. If anything it does the opposite because people sometimes pray in a crucial moment where they should be doing something useful to survive.
The strength and resilience of a human is amazing. The human body can really take a beating. Glad someone survived this ordeal.
Carl is super strong and saved all lives. Well done. Never, I say never, fly anywhere without 2 ELT's. One in the plane and one hand held.
What is an ELT? There should always be several tracking devices in the plan at all times I believe

35:37 As a instructor in the Army, Fort Bliss Texas, (Desert survival)There 4 different North's, 1. magnetic north 2 True north 3 Grid North 4 Hunter's North..The storyline doesn't say if he is Left-Handed or right-handed, If your left handed you'll bend to the left
if your right handed you'll bend to the right, They call it Hunters circle North.
The pilot had experienced flying in the air corridor, he would have known what the heading would been before they crashed,
A visible KRP (known reference point)
would have helped out immensely. And knowing the Field Expedia method of making a compass, would of made a total difference,
a very interesting subject to research just might save your life sometime.
Carl's heart is golden.
I feel bad for the pilot. Just barely survived to die in another crash in 2yrs..
he did? Do you know perhaps if there is some kind of record on this? Or a video or something like that?
It says unrelated flying incident - the cause of his death
@@moonriverf171 thanks sir.
I heard that as well.
What a unlucky guy.
TO have managed to become pilot....(which isnt for everyone).....
To survive this crash, walking out of a desert.
To then die in some other unrelated crash.
(which btw is pretty logic that it was an unrelated accident.... if it was related to this one, it would not have made sense that they said it was an unrelated accident, rigth? Im dutch, so maybe i just do not understand it correctly)
Anyways, thanks for the reply.

It was a tragedy, I am so glad that they survived.... what a blessing for their families. It is sad that the pilot died only 2 years later. I do think that he was a corner cutter and did not keep his plane in tiptop condition.
This went through my head as well....
I thought so too. A reckless type.

What an incredible story of survival! I feel so sad to hear that Costa died in another accident but am so pleased to hear everyone else made it through this terrifying tragedy and are doing well. It is our challenges that, ultimately make us stronger but no one ever expects to face a challenge like this🙏😔🙏
You never know how strong you actually are, until you have no other choice but to be strong.
The same pilot who took the minimum of safety precautions by flying in a plane without a transponder, because he didn’t “have to”, that was probably poorly maintained. Shocker he ended up dead.
I can only bear to watch these traumatic stories knowing that there is an eventual rescue

a plane crash via wilderness...and then survived...

I think that all these true stories are so very useful for all of us. No matter how short our intended walk, drive or flight or how confident, know-all and/or rich we are, bring along a small backpack with bottle of water, pocket water filter, first aid kit, warm jacket, lighter/matches, a few packs of energy bars per person and a distress flare.

This is one of the best Series here on You Tube...very well produced program.
I’ve nearly died of dehydration.
It was excruciatingly painful. You become delirious and hallucinate while being over by a sense of doom that is hard to explain.
I was within seconds of a massive coronary. Literally seconds. I spent 7 days in ICU and nearly lost the fight.
I would not wish that death on anyone 🥺
In this day and age you’d think they would devise something that in the event of a crash , there would be a tiny pill that swells with the smallest amount of moisture. The journey they had and the small charter aircraft then it would be imperative that something is packed for these awful situations
carl shall never feel guilty for deciding to leave for help. his decision saved all their lives. rip costa

Carl!! Yesss! I honestly think, depending on location, as soon as something happens get going. Before extreme thirst. Hunger, weakness, delusions start. From the shows Ive watched I think being stick in the jungle or a forest is so bad. Your hidden under the canopy of GREEN! These people are so so lucky!

Wow carl is so amazing he voluntarily walked to save everyone
So the pilot veers off course by 140km, doesn't call in proper mayday with the correct coordinates, didn't have a locator on board or any safety/survival equipment at all. Then dies in a crash 2 years later. Maybe not the best pilot
Wow what an ordeal..Carl did the right thing.
Never forget, water = life
What a remarkable story.
This is such an interesting true story. They were businessnen, thinking this flight would be easy-peasy short. No problem. But carrying NO survival packs. Even just FLARES, WHISTLES, astronaut food, long- lasting food would have changed their game. And LED torches, spare radio plus batteries i mean, what were they THINKING ?
🌱
They might have food n everything else but destroyed by fire.
That should be the responsibility of the crew, not passangers.
@@AaAa-pf7tj oh c'mon.
@@anjou6497 oh c'mon
Most passangers do not think of this. Plus they did have sodas on the plane which I guess were destroyed on impact.
That prayer saved the day.
a sweet, empathetic soul such as that pilot , Costa , had is a rare trait , exhibited in approximately 1 in 100,000 individuals . His selfless ,stoicism & ragged determination to do his job & protect his passengers was so ingrained in his person that he was their savior.
What karma must have brought that soul's next incarnation must be enviable.
Who flies without filing a flight plan? Didn't they have friends they told they were flying? Family expecting them--or other executives?
I thought that was very unwise
Of course they didn't! Haven't you ever watched an episode of this series before?
Everyone's concern seems to be the ferrocious predators of Africa's bush and my concern is about the deadly rattle snakes whose poisonous bite is enough to take you out real quick.
This reminds me how important is the survival skills and meditation. There are actually plenty of ways to trap and collect water from the air.
Collecting water is very hard to do when you are all busted up inside and feeling like you are in a million pieces.
and the camera man always safe and with water to drink
That's why they pay the cameraman the big bucks.
Whenever I see these episodes I relate myself being stranded and finding ways to get out of this lol
