Favorites by them: “Simple Man” , “Give me three steps “ & “Sweet Home Alabama “. Their genre of music is considered Southern Rock & being from the south (North Carolina), I grew up with their music playing at gatherings (family or friends) like BBQ’s, parties, reunions, etc....
Wow brings back memories of my youth and summer nights we thought would never end. a cold brew my beautiful brown eyed girl sitting on my lap. hanging out a the river with skynyrd playing in the back ground.
“I Need You” ,in my opinion, is one of Skynard’s best and most underrated songs.. When I hear “That Smell” all I can think about is in Forrest Gump when Jenny was in that hotel room with her face all sunk in and her nearly falling off the ledge of the balcony.
Lynryd Skynyrd! 🔥 👏 There named after a gym teacher/nemesis! Leonard Skinner!Another rabbit hole! 😉 Do SIMPLE MAN next! Several members died in a plane crash in 1977! Lead singer Ronnie van Zant, Steve Gains guitarist and back singer Cassie Gains! Steve Gains sister! And there road manager 🙏RIP
@@Adrian-zd4cs it’s a very melancholy song but has nothing to do with death. It’s a straight up break-up song. My family is from Tennessee so I get it. Skynyrd is huge in the south and I guess that song will always be played at funerals.
Well there was about 10 years inbetween . Various surviving members had other various musical projects , pointedly Not doing any Skynrd material . But eventually some of them reformed under the LS name , with the brother as vocalist . ( Insert 30 yrs of drama as various members moved in & out of the recreated LS .)
A great Skynyrd song, my favorite after "Freebird". I was fortunate enough to have seen them live several times, once before the plane crash, and several times afterwards. I am happy to see a younger generation enjoying the music that I grew up on. Keep doing your thing....
Can’t go wrong with Southern Rock. I’m only 32 but my mom and dad are almost 70 and always played this stuff when I was young. I just close my eyes and kick back and I can feel my blood pressure drop. Awesome stuff. I was fortunate enough to see them in concert with Hank Williams Jr. about 15 years ago
Lord have mercy, I'm from the south... Tennessee, and let's put it this way, if someone says they don't like Skynyrd.. it's blasphemy! I'm 54, I'm grew up with that band.. and gosh when that plane crash happened it was unreal sadness 😭. The Tribute Tour they did in the 80s with his brother and remaining members, was the most awesome concert. You had bikers, older people, my age, kids I mean all color of people and honestly so many times there wasn't a dry eye in the house!! Especially when they put his hat on a mic stand and played Freebird with home videos of the band playing on big screen behind it. SOBBING crying!!!
I was at the Tribute concert in Atlanta, 1987. It was very emotional, and Johnny Van Zant just put his brother, Ronnie’s hat on the microphone and wouldn’t even sing the lyrics to Free Bird. Then when Allen Collins’ father brought him on stage in the wheelchair and he spoke to us, everybody was crying. It was very, very emotional.
On October 20, 1977 during a flight from Greenville, South Carolina, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s tour plane crashed in a heavily wooded area of southeastern Mississippi during a failed emergency landing attempt, killing band-members Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines and Cassie Gaines as well as the band’s assistant road manager and the plane’s pilot and co-pilot. Twenty others survived the crash. There is a documentary about this tragedy, the band couldn't play for a long time and really struggled on whether they should or not with the loss of the others.
Yeah, “Tuesday’s “ a girl, or at least I always thought so. These guys are so talented, and most of the band was 20 and 21 years old when this album, “Pronounced” was released. You can tell by my subscriber name that I love this song. It was in the movie, HAPPY GILMORE.
I grew up to Lynyrd Skynyrd. I know all damn word to almost all their songs. I’ve met them as well. My mom and step dad have met them multiple times. Very down to earth people.
The more I listen to them I appreciate how good the drummer is to really carry the mood and feel of the tune. Definitely drinking in your beer music lol
If I remember the story correctly, Tuesday just so happens to be the day Ronnie's divorce officially happened. So, `Tuesday` is a sort of metaphor for his ex. A way to reference her/it (the divorce) without naming her.
You gotta do freebird live amazingggg yo ...most them died in a plane crash together but pull up their performance of freebird live it has the most views mind blowing 💔💯💯
Half and Jai just heard a LS today called if I'm wrong. I messaged my parents and put them on blast for not ever letting me here it before. All I ever heard was the main stream songs. Great song. My wife and I Totally enjoy what you two do and are.
70's had so much great rock & roll. I was a 90's kid and rock music in that decade blew up through the stratosphere and beyond, but I might still have to give a slight edge to the 70's because there was so much damn great music, plus they were allowed to have long ass, true instrumental solos in their songs and their songs were allowed to be over 4 minutes long... Plus they were the pioneers of rock as we know it today (althogh jazz and blues musicians from even earlier decades are arguably the original pioneers of rock & roll in general).
I love watching both your reaction to music. Man music is a feeling! Shows a true music lover one who can appreciate any genre of music! Try freebird and simple man ❤️
This is totally marvelous! I can't really see Half's facial expressions as much, in reaction to the musical notes, delicate play of the instruments, and the tender, heartbreaking lyrics, but I can see Jai's subtle facial movements and body language full on - and you can see she's really with it, she'll really feeling it. Totally precious guys! It made me really feel it too, the pain, the heartbreak, in harmonic resonance with the two of you!
Hey Bro, Tuesday's Gone, written and played by the baddest Southern rock band to grace the stages across the world, flying the Confederate Flag as their stages Back drop with pride, paying their respects to their family ancestors who fought bravely to defend that beautiful flag and the men, women,& children who lived in and loved those beautiful Southern States that were so valiantly fought for , led by Great Southern General's & A great Confederate Army that
Skynyrd...one of the greatest to ever do it...it's tragic that half of the band died in a plane crash....Metallica covered this song with Gary Rossington (the surviving guitarist from LS) and a couple other artists....you should check it out...it's a great acoustic version of this song......I love your reactions..and I love your happiness and good vibes! One of my favorite songs by them.. Free Bird is a good song but over played through out the years..But this song brings back a lot of great memories..Good Times and Good Vibes..
Anything and I mean everything Skynyrd is gold 🤠. This is a beautiful song along with Simple Man (which was my son/mother dance at wedding) and Ballad of Curtis Loew 💗🕊️

The live version is pretty awesome. React to "Workin for MCA" and "Simple Man" and "T For Texas" alot of great songs by Skynyrd. "Ballad of Curtis Lowe"
Great classic have always loved this song. This band has so many great songs. I will say it again I applaud you for branching out to other genres keep up the what? Good Vibes
My favorite track off that album (which was chock full of hits!)…Lynyrd Skynrd were ‘70’s Southern Rock…they were the standard. Nobody could touch them!!
Right after this song first came out, it quickly became a drinking song in just about every Bar in the south. This one and Gimme' Three Steps, which you should check out.
My fav LS song. Beautiful and hauntingly melancholic sound and that guitar is so powerfully felt with somber feeling. Thanks for the reaction. But you had it backwards, she's not leaving; he is. It is my understanding that "Tuesday" represents the last day of the band's weekend to spend at home or with their woman either their significant other or 1 night stand. On Wednesday they have to head back out on the road for their shows on thurs, fri, sat nights; before heading home Sunday morning. It's also theorized that "Tuesday" is the name of the girl they are leaving behind. But the previous one IMO makes more sense with the context.
I had this song play as the last song at wedding reception. Dazed and confused was my fav movie at the time. This was the end of the party song in the movie
Check out the band 38 Special. "Caught Up In You" and "Hold On Loosely" are good songs. The lead singer of these 2 bands are brothers. Donnie Van Zant of 38 Special. Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd, died in a plane crash with other members of the band on October 20, 1977 (R.I.P.). Johnny Van Zant is the current singer of Lynryrd Skynyrd.
I have to disagree. There are very few rock songs (outside of stuff like ELO or the Moody Blues) where a string section is necessary for the song but this is one of them. The harmonica on the live version just does not generate the emotion that the strings here do.
Something I’ve noticed about reaction youtuber’s is a lot of them don’t watch the videos with lyrics. It would be a tremendous help to y’all, With understanding what the song is about. YES!!
My favorite is a little song called "Mr. Banker" most fans have never even heard of it. It is a hidden gem.
The songs are radio favorites, dig deeper for diamonds like ( I need you ) my favorite but never no radio play
I'm from Ohio and grew up listening to Skynyrd. Great band!

My favorite band!! Whenever I hear this song I think of my older siblings (both teens in 70's) and the movie Dazed and Confused.
You have to hear "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe " Great song , you will appreciate it.
My first time hearing it. I liked
it.
Three steps is a great one too
Crazy how when muscians left their woman in the 60's, 70's, 80's, it was so poetic and sounded so beautiful!
