This song was about the divorce of his first wife Nadine The divorce became final on Tuesday. Lyrics Train roll on was inspired from a track close to where they lived. Beautiful song beautiful arrangement. One of my favorites by The late great Ronnie Vanzandt Great Reaction as always Syde Stay Safe ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm huge lynyrd skynyrd fan i didn't know that i thought I knew everything about this band there my favorite band of all time think for the information about the song
Billy Powell is the piano player for Skynyrd, he actually started out as a roadie for the band. They went to do a gig one night and the roadies was setting everything up and upon the stage was a piano that was covered with a tarp. Billy Powell removed the tarp and found the piano and sat down and started playing and everyone in the band almost shit their pants at his expertise. As it would come to light later on the band found out that he was trained as a classical pianists and he was asked to join the band. The rest is history as they say.
This music takes me to the emotional time in 1977, Senior in HS..sitting in class...of course no cell phones or immediate news and we learned about the plane crash...that same sick feeling in your gut...I spent all my free time for months plugged into the stereo with the headphones staring at the turntable crying like I had lost family members...😥
Don’t change anything about your reactions. You are the most honest, real person on YT and I want to thank you for sharing yourself and this awesome music with your fans. Love you man 👍
Thank you for your reaction, this is probably my favorite Skynyrd song. I may not always be in the mood for Free Bird or Sweet Home Alabama, but I'm always ready for this song. It's just one of the most perfect songs instrumentaly (if that's a word), they are played and fit the song perfectly, and I love the strings in it, and of course his singing is wonderful as always. I'd listen to it if it was just an instrumental. Thank you again.
The Piano player for the band Billy Powell was working as a Roadie for the the Band and One Day he Started playing the intro to Free Bird and the guys from Lynyrd Skynyrd offered him to be part of the Band
After you do, The Ballad Of Curtis Loew, then, Call Me The Breeze (live), I’m 62 I have seen Lynyrd Skynyrd, 3 times in the 70’s ,the last was 1977 a few months before the crash. They gave it their all on stage and had a great time,
Drama, thanks for this video, a song Skynyrd did that nobody has really heard is, ;;THE FOUR WALLS OF RAIFORD;;, It is about one of the Most Brutal Prison's in Jacksonville Florida, Raiford Prison, These people were Brutally Punished , Working on the Chain Gang, Digging Ditches, And Digging Thier Own Graves, This Song Will Make you Cry due the the Conditions of this place, Ronnie Van Zant cared about People , no Matter who you were , this is his Song here about Brutality, Just the The way People were treated in this God Forsaken Prison, Cousin Figel
Early on, they had a cabin on the Florida-Georgia line. They would stay there for days and write and play, and perfect their craft. I have always loved skynyrd. "Was I right or wrong" is a hidden gem.
It may sound foolish, but I believe with all my heart and soul. Lynrd skynyrd would have been the greatest of all time. I understand if some have them as the greatest of all time already. But I think if they had lived past the accident or if it never happened at all. They would be greater than the rest of the other all time greats.
Every Song they put on an album could have been a single, we sang these songs at the top of our lungs, in the 70’s, album after album of nothing but Monster Songs
I think what resonates with Skynyrd is their songs have the ablility to make us feel the way they do. The emotions that come with their songs...we have all felt that way at some points in our lives and they add the music and words.
All Skynyrd should be listened to!! It just will never be the same without the ones lost in that plane crash. I live about 45 minutes away from the site.
100% correct all that all that brother and more hey anything that 200 people hadn't already done that's just three songs kid not really but all what you said and coming home coming home brother all right all right
The time of these songs were right in my wheelhouse, I was 20 when the crash happened and it was horrible at the time. They were just starting to be a national band. I only saw them twice before the crash. Another band you may like from the south is The Marshall Tucker Band - Can't You See ua-cam.com/video/dlc6xCPx60U/v-deo.html
I’ve said it before, but man, THANK YOU for putting the spotlight on the guys. I’m so glad you’re discovering this wonderful music that I, literally grew up on. I just never remember much about life before this album and SECOND HELPING. You give so much respect to them, and I respect YOU for that.
The guy to the far right in the picture is guitarist Ed King the only member of the original band not from Jacksonville, yet very instrumental in their early success.A few years ago Ed recorded a song with Bekka Bramlett called Straight after you. It's great! Check it out.I'm sure you will like it!
I was fortunate enuff to see the original band except for the drummer 3 times. Great great band. I was actually in line in a record shop to buy tickets to the concert in Baton Rouge that if course was their next stop that they did not make. While in line a special announcement on the radio was made about the crash in Mississippi. I regret to this day not buying those tickets. My favorite band
DramaSyd, your uncomprehension of listeners who don't fully appreciate the technical and soulful sounds of Lynyrd Skynard,, is mirrored by me and thousands of this band's fans. Another impressive reaction Sir. Please listen to, and react to 2 additional singles off the first album, Mississippi Kid, and Things Going On. You will not be disappointed.
I agree I agree with all that all that hide anything that's not been done is what I'm saying anything that 200 people hadn't already done how about coming home though come on come on all right all right
Something is amiss, I got a notification this time. Good to have you back. My personal take on this great song is that Tuesday has passed, took her own life. And he has to put it way behind him. Great reaction and looking forward to more. The "T for Texas" performance in the Knebworth show is phenomenal as well as "Call me the breeze". Thanks for your efforts.
LS also had a soft side with songs like "I Need You", "White Dove" with Ricky Medlocke on vocals...also one of my personal favorites is a song I doubt anyone would request but ... "one more time" which is a song about a lying woman.
3 people out of this band has more talent than most bands has with 8 or 10 people in it and that's not being critical...I simply believe in giving credit where credit is due and I cut my teeth listening to this band . I was 12 years old when the plane crash happened and I've still not got over it and never will .
The song is not about a woman. If you have watched any interviews (one good one on a documentary on axs tv) or read true history, you will find the true meaning. When Ronnie signed their deal with MCA, he knew their life as he and the band had known it, would forever be changed moving forward. After all, they worked tirelessly to hone their craft rehearsing 12-18 hour days 7 days a week for years. Ronnie wanted the stage show "sound" to match the recorded sound. Indeed it did which was what blew Al Kooper away. He was astonished that every guitar solo was played exactly the same from stage to studio. This can only be accomplished by very hard work driven by Ronnie. This song depicts Ronnie's feelings on how life was going to change forever. "Tuesday" would be the metaphor for that and it would be "gone with the wind".
Been digging the skynyrd reaction vids. Your’s have a more authentic feel than most and you seem to truly appreciate the band. I don’t know if another artist in any genre that I can say has as many solid songs as Skynyrd, they literally only have a small number of so-so songs, everything else is fire in my opinion like you said. I would recommend I ain’t the one, I need you, Saturday night special, On the hunt or Gotta Go for your next skynyrd reactions. Thanks for the videos.
Aerosmiths personal pilot refuse to fly the same jet that took the life's of the members of Lynyrd Skynyrd just months b4 the crash. I'm fortunate to have seen the original band live
Your comments were perfect for this great song. To me, a perfect song in every way. The emotional journey LS takes you on....damn. Those keys! What’s next? 🔥
You're right man. I've seen vids of "first reaction to MJ" and I'm like 🤣🤣🤣🤣 where have you been fucking living? No way someone hasn't heard MJ. You gotta react to music you don't know for it to be real.
Personally I think Billy Powell never gets nearly enough credit for his gorgeous playing. 💜💚💛✌️
This song was about the divorce of his first wife Nadine
The divorce became final on Tuesday.
Lyrics Train roll on was inspired from a track close to where they lived.
Beautiful song beautiful arrangement.
One of my favorites by The late great Ronnie Vanzandt
Great Reaction as always Syde
Stay Safe ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks. Didn't know that
I'm huge lynyrd skynyrd fan i didn't know that i thought I knew everything about this band there my favorite band of all time think for the information about the song
My mom was pregnant with me at the last show in Greenville, SC before the crash and I think it left a mark in my DNA for sure ✌
Billy Powell is the piano player for Skynyrd, he actually started out as a roadie for the band. I forgot to say I’m my other comments Ronnie always sang on stage barefoot he said he wanted to feel the sound or the music thru him
We...are craving actual instruments! We miss real music. That man playing the piano is singing to us. The guitarists...the dang drummer!
I really appreciate the love you show to Skynyrd loved there music for 45 yrs
This music takes me to the emotional time in 1977, Senior in HS..sitting in class...of course no cell phones or immediate news and we learned about the plane crash...that same sick feeling in your gut...I spent all my free time for months plugged into the stereo with the headphones staring at the turntable crying like I had lost family members...😥
I remember feeling that exact way Monica. Hit me so very hard. Stevie Ray Vaughan’s crash did also.
Brother I'm from Jacksonville where Skynyrd is from and I felt this. Thank you.

Some music gets right down into the depths of your soul, and once you hear it, you’ll never be the same. This is that music.

Your reactions are great just the way they are. I wouldn't change a thing. So many great songs. So many wonderful memories. Thanks Syd
They were truly the best. We lost a big piece of America on 10/20/77.
You would love Travelin man and was I right or wrong....trust me!
As always, I enjoyed your reaction.
How 'bout
"Call Me The Breeze".
Hard to believe Gary's the only one still alive in the picture on that album cover. If you didn't know he's the one sitting in the middle.
Hello my friend, Jax,Florida thanks you for this reaction take care sir

Lynyrd Skynyrd was truly one of a kind
Yes one does wonder how high they could have climbed!
I think what resonates with Skynyrd is their songs have the ablility to make us feel the way they do. The emotions that come with their songs...we have all felt that way at some points in our lives and they add the music and words.
You should react to the song: "What's your name" by them
Classic!
Another piece of my childhood
I still get tingles and I bought the lp when they hadn't toured yet. So, a long time. Saw them with The Who and they were terrific!
All Skynyrd should be listened to!! It just will never be the same without the ones lost in that plane crash. I live about 45 minutes away from the site.
The piano solo gives the impression of a train starting up and gaining momentum.
We love some Mike...
Makes me cry every time
Even as a child I knew this song and band was some kind of special!
Thank for reacting to this I love Skynyrd
More Lynyrd Skynyrd please"I need you","things goin on","Mr banker","all I can do is write it" ☮️

The greatness of the record is the doggett commitment of the band and the recording expertise of Al Cooper.

Well put DramaSydETV. Thank you sir.
You have to watch the documentary Muscle Shoals. It’s about all the music that came out of a recording studio in Alabama , including this song
3 people out of this band has more talent than most bands has with 8 or 10 people in it and that's not being critical...I simply believe in giving credit where credit is due and I cut my teeth listening to this band . Ronnie actually wrote this about his divorce from his first wife Nadine which was finalized on a Tuesday he wrote this song that night
You want to really be touched by a song, do the ballard of Curtis lowe. It will touch your heart. And what we lost from the 60's till now.✌

It was Awesome! I followed em all over HELLS HALF ACRE and back. Wish I could do it all over again.
They wrote songs and they wrote anthems. This is another anthem. This ranks with Free Bird for me.
