I saw a video someone took at a convention once, where most of the actors were there. Interestingly, the movie was filmed from start to end. The director thought that if the baby had a good enough relationship with all the other actors, then they could make the creepy end sequence feel like they were playing a game. The actor who played Gage said that after he grew up he got to visit the house where they filmed it again, and he said that it felt like going back to the home of a relative from years before because he vaguely remembered where things were. Oh--and one of the cats that played Church had kittens, so some of the actors got to take a kitten home when they were done :) There were a few cats that were trained to do different things like eat and jump on things; they were able to do it that way since he had that grey coloring.

The book will always be scarier to me than the two adaptations. However I’ll give this film credit for King writing the screenplay & making it mostly faithful to his novel. And Miko Hughes was freaking adorable as little Gage!

2:42 If I may be pedantic, this was NOT the first time King himself adapted one of his earlier written works to the screen: before this there was CREEPSHOW (two of the stories in that, "The Lonesome Death Of Jordy Verrill" and "The Crate" were based on two of Kings previously published short stories, the rest were originals made for the movie) CATS EYE (based on two of his earlier short stories, "Quitters Inc." and "The Ledge", plus an opening and last third made up for the movie) SILVER BULLET (based on his earlier book "Cycle Of The Werewolf") and MAXIUMUM OVERDRIVE (based on his short story "Trucks")

That kid who played Gage is just too darn cute, even coming back from the grave ^_^ I'm also pretty psyched to see this re-make. I'm usually not into re-makes if they don't stand out, and I'm not convinced that this one will, but I'm a fan of horror films and Stephen King as a writer, so I'm still intrigued. On that note, after having seen IT (2017) I think that Stephen King horror re-makes can potentially work and I'm willing to give it a chance.
Also just a side-note: I think we can all agree that having the Kurgen come back from the dead would've made a better sequel than the Quickening. It wouldn't have been better by much, but if there had to be a sequel, I would take it over General Katana and his moronic porcupine-looking minions. Not only that, but had they still done the whole resurrection of Ramirez plot point, we could at least see a re-match between him and the Kurgen.
Like I said, still terrible and insulting to the first film with its lack of quality and imagination, but still better than what we ended up with lol
