Katherine Hicks actually DID want to come back for the sequel & she's wanted to make a come back ever since. She thoroughly enjoyed her time in CHILD'S PLAY & the character she played. She was actually disappointed when she was NOT asked to come back & she was on set for CHILD's PLAY 2. She had some sort of consultant role.
From what I recall, there was a child's play 2 comic released around the same time as the movie. In the xomic, Andy is in first grade, and it gives us some inside of chucky's past.
I feel like this movie was trying to reference the Twilight episode "Living Doll" by featuring some of the same story elements ( i.e. A questionable father figure who doesn't like his adopted child, the doll acting as a foil for the child by hurting/killing adults who mistreat him, the doll killing the father by making him trip on the staircase). It seems to be trying to incorporate some of the same psychological horror elements that made "Living Doll" terrifying and interesting, but not understanding how to make it subtle enough to convey that.
Especially when Andy is making the comeback of the CENTURY! LITERALLY! I mean THE ACTOR IS THE SAME: Alex Vincent is Andy in Child's Play 1 and 2 and he returns as an ADULT in Cult of Chucky! Check Alex Vincent's IMDB if you don't believe me!

Despite not reprising her role Catherine Hicks was constantly on set for the sequel to see her husband, Kevin Yagher, who operated the animatronic Chucky doll. At 84 minutes, this is the shortest Child's Play movie. Chris Sarandon was originally going to reprise his role as Det. Mike Norris from the first film, but his scenes were cut from the film due to budgetary issues. Christine Elise's film debut. Jenny Agutter has said this is one of the worst filming experiences she's ever had. The Good Guy doll Tommy is named after original Child's Play director Tom Holland. This sequel was released on the 2nd anniversary of the original Child's Play (November 9th). Originally, Phil and Joanne were named George and Mildred. Adam Wylie's first film role. This film is the debut appearance of Adam Wylie. Body Count: 7. This movie and Seed of Chucky (2004) are the only films in the series in which Chucky does not get shot at any point. Charles Grodin, Jeffrey Jones (who would later co-star with Chucky's actor Brad Dourif in Deadwood (2004)) and Tim Matheson (who would later play Henry Kaslan in Child's Play (2019)) were considered for Phil Simpson. Both Kyle and Grace Poole strongly resemble Karen Barclay and Maggie Peterson from the original film respectively. Like Karen, Kyle has short length blonde hair, while Grace, like Maggie, has brown permed hair. Like Maggie, Grace gets murdered by Chucky.
The Child's Play movies are incredibly funny to me. Seriously, Chucky buries the Tommy Good Guy Doll with a plastic shovel a kid would play with in a sand box or something like that. How could that not be seen as utterly hilarious? XD

On one note, the theme that you hear at the beginning of this video and during the scene in which Chucky kills a doll was from Siskel and Ebert’s show from 1982 - 1986. Also, Chris Sarandon was intended to return, but he wasn’t cast for budgeting reasons.

It seems to be trying to incorporate some of the same psychological horror elements that made "Living Doll" terrifying and interesting, but not understanding how to make it subtle enough to convey that.
so......anyone ready for Cult Of Chucky?
Me
Especially when Andy is making the comeback of the CENTURY! LITERALLY! I mean THE ACTOR IS THE SAME: Alex Vincent is Andy in Child's Play 1 and 2 and he returns as an ADULT in Cult of Chucky! Check Alex Vincent's IMDB if you don't believe me!
It won't be with NC
MALEMization Alex Vincent was also in a after credits of Curse Of Chucky.
MALEMization his comeback was lackluster. I was disappointed. The movie itself actually kept my intrigue which is a lot more than the last....4? Whatever. Was a good flick. But Andy? I was disappointed.
11:20 well, cause it's daylight, everyone in the house and Chucky will expose himself. That's why he waited
Well, this is awkward in 2019. Phelous is a better man than I. If this were my video, I'd edit Doug out and replace him with Wabuu (plus a cameo by SIRO: THE GREATEST MORTAL KOMBAT CRITIC!).
um it really wouldn't work in context
I love the thumbnail! Whoever did the cartoon has a gift.
Review the other three films.
Bride Of Chucky, Seed Of Chucky, and Child's Play 6 reviews we need.
What happened to your Child's Play 1 and 3 reviews?
Sora Song The review of 3 should be on here eventually. The CP 1 review is Doug's, he produced that one.
Phelan Porteous Do you have plans to review the remaining three Child's Play films or anything Doug has reviewed?
Sora Song i don't think he and doug would be working with each other for a while
Andrew Driscoll I hope Phelan does those films with someone, but it's okay if he does them on his own.
+Andrew Driscoll Well it's not like Doug owns the Child's Play movies... Phelous could review them without him, since now he is no more associated with Channel Awesome
Damn I wish these two could have stayed friends, they had cute chemistry.. Like a big brother annoying his little brother kind of vibe
*akward laughter*
So who else giggled at the fact that one of the last lines of this video is the Critic saying "I'm doing your bum now?"
5:26
*FORESHADOWING*
Hey remember when the review of the 3rd film was the last Nostalgia Critic review? That lasted a whole SIX MONTHS!
Scott Sandler So was Battlefield Earth and Scooby Doo. He's ended the Nostalgia Critic a lot. Though, I don't remember the 3rd movie ever being the last.
***** No, the review of the 3rd movie was released after Scooby Doo, but just before To Boldly Flee. That was the last review released before the retirement announcement
Scott Sandler Huh. Didn't know that.
Scott Sandler lets just hope he docent retire the nc for good
At this rate the nostalgia critic is rivaling motley Crüe for fake retirements
That pre-ad, ad, post-ad sequence was the best one ever.
15:15,
Chuckie: okay, let’s run
Olympic Games music plays
Hey kid, remember that doll that is the source of all your trauma? Here's one just like it. Have fun!
The Child's Play movies are incredibly funny to me. Seriously, Chucky buries the Tommy Good Guy Doll with a plastic shovel a kid would play with in a sand box or something like that. How could that not be seen as utterly hilarious? XD
quick way how to kill chucky toss him in the microwave
chucky: no im not gonna die like chinga from the x files
Scariest X Files episode.
The stepfather reminds me of Norman Bates from Psycho.
2 of my fav channels comeing together
Y'all seem to have a great time making this crossover and it shows! Awesome watch 👌🔥
Why is Chucky's voice here oddly pleasant to listen to?
He's got an oddly soothing quality to his voice
i love this movie, it was my first horror movie!
20:12 hey look it’s Rodney Dangerfield
Despite everything that went down IRL,
These reviews did get me into watching Phelous,
So I’m glad you kept them up.
Though both of you are basically gateway drugs to Obscurus Lupa.
Online comedy reviews: NOT EVEN ONCE!
Looks like Tommy... Is taking a dirt nap :D
Chris Riley lmfao
Loved that part at 7:14-7:32. xD
The irony blew their minds.
This review was great. xD
And the Critic sounds drunk when mimicking Phelous. XD
Man it really sucks ass that Doug and Phelan hate eachother now, they're hilarious together.
I'm a little new to this...
what happened between them?
RAWisJimbo if anyone knows lmk pls
?
@@enegmatixerebro they’re trying to say link
@@gracekim1998 No they aren't, it's an abbreviation for "Let me know"
You guys imitating eachother is some top notch jazz. Imagine the whole episode like that.
no
I thought the funniest moment is when Doug Walker said he sounds like a drunk Tarzan
On one note, the theme that you hear at the beginning of this video and during the scene in which Chucky kills a doll was from Siskel and Ebert’s show from 1982 - 1986. Also, Chris Sarandon was intended to return, but he wasn’t cast for budgeting reasons.
3:20
That part's a lot harder to watch in hindsight...
Foreshadowing
yep
Interesting fact, the foster dad who the Nostalgia Critic is terrified of for some reason was also in an episode of Star Trek Voyager as one of the Q Continuum.
NILKNARF!!!
@@randalgraves6979 Oh yeah, that was him too!
These guys are really funny. They make me laugh when they do or say something funny.
Fun fact: did you know that the foster father was the same guy who played Beef in Brian de Palma's 1973 film "Phantom of the Paradise"?
Hey, you've uploaded the reviews featuring an over the top, cartoony villain, and he's reviewing the first three Child's Play movies with you!
Those last two and a half minutes had me laughing so hard 😂
I love this review for some reason. Well the Child Play series review series. One cause NC and Phelous are great together and second discovering Phelous... seriously Phel, you're one of my favourite reviewers and I never get tired seeing your reviews.
Keep doing your best. You'll have my support.
Yeah they were amazing together, to bad it'll probably never happen again, wish Phelous would at least go solo on it and finish the series, or do them with Brad.
I wish they had Snob too!
Come to think of it, this was probably the first Phelous episode I ever saw.
