- Call of Duty: Vanguard VS Battlefield 1 - Attention to Detail Comparison
Hi Guys,
In this video, I compared details and graphics between Battlefield 1 (2016) and Call of Duty Vanguard (2021). I am a huge fan of both of these games. These details do not make one game better than the other. I made this video to show the graphical difference between both games.
Thanks for watching.

Either way bf1 is better
I need to get BF1 as soon as I can! Vanguard doesn't have sh*t on BF1.
Its like comparing cyberpunk2077 with gta5
When you compare call of duty to battlefield it's stupid to add in dynamic environment since cod hasn't done it, and if they have it's so minor it didn't even matter. So this video kinda feels like what one game has and let's see if the other has it totally disregarding the other games unique features.
@@christophersmith5947 except fucking awesome gun play.
Imagine comparing a latest game with details to a game thats been out for more than 4 yrs but still has better details than COD itselfs lol...battlefield 1 was way ahead amd was made with passion with bf 3 and 4
That old dice devs knows whats makes a true battlefield. But this new devs are confusing battlefield with cod and apex legends.
COD is a fat money grab now reminds me of all the cheap Droid games that assault you with ads these days
Battlefield was launched in 2016 ;)
Imagine comparing and arcade shooter to a sandbox shooter, funny right, but people play COD more than BF and makes more money every year, BF1 is a pretty game, but Doesn't compare to any cod when it comes to gameplay 😹

Fun Fact: The US snipers in BF1 do actually keep both eyes open when aiming, since it was part of the US Army sniper training to be able to aim while having a full FOV around you.
Edit: Another benefit is that it limits the strain on the snipers aiming eye, which is quite important if your job is *to see bad guys*
really, wouldn't that limit their effectiveness. it would make more sense to have a 2 man sniper squad like we have today

This is the moment in gaming history that the crew that created BF1 need to come together again and make a new game. It would be right on time and is much needed

Ah buddy listen now: many great developers from DICE have already left the studio after BFV launch and then, the 2042 debacle.
A battlefield game in the cold war would be nice I think
As much I do not want to say this bf1 had so many bullshits going on in the game which was pissed off a lot of ppl
@R 2042 is sorta reviving itself...sorta
My final assesment is that while Vanguard does have a few details that are actually kinda nice (peeking, shells bouncing off the walls, a few others here and there), BF1 easily knocks Vanguard out of the room, and it's not even close. And I'm being very generous by giving Vanguard those few points
A lot of the missing details are just gameplay choices though. No one wants to be heard from footsteps on random objects lol mw got criticized for the loud footsteps.
@@kevinsteelflex7371 Then lower the footsteps sounds? It's really not that hard, there's no excuse to not include differing footstep noises for different objects when all you have to do is lower the footstep audio to a reasonable amount.

In BF1 if you shoot the enemy's neck or throat there's an animation holding their neck

I think black ops 2 had this animation aswell

@Atoms wait. I think it's modern warfare 2 that invented shocked enemy animation first.
@@agamer5944 Cod mw2 has soldier touching there body .
I grew up with CoD but damn, they couldn't even come close to a game that is already 5 years old.
Also I remember doing the stealth missions in MW2 on split screen. We were crawling through the snow to evade the Russian soldiers and be really tactical. After killing a lonely enemy you could hear metallic noises of the empty shells getting ejected from our guns. While doing a tactical reload our characters yelled **I'M EMPTY; RELOADING!** or some shit like that, it was so stupid hahahha

Bf1 has British Empire, French Republic, German Empire, Tsarist Russia, USSR, Ottoman Empire, Austro Hungary, Italian Kingdom and USA as playable factions and they all have complete sets of uniforms, voice lines and intros. Cod Vanguard had my team and enemy team and don't even let you play as Axis side. I think it is more than clear who wins
Also don’t forget the British had different uniforms in the turning tides dlc. On achi baba and cape helles they were wearing the gallipoli campaign uniforms with the shorts. Then on the naval maps they gave them the blue Royal Marines uniform. Probably something a majority of people wouldn’t notice or care about but it was nice none the less.
@@connorh6477 Agreed.

2: You can throw grenades back in bf1
3: And for reloading, look at the m1912 repetierpistole, he saves the bullets left
Also take a look at the peacekeeper, there are different animations for every reload,
Also when you have only one bullet left in a bolt action, it will in some rifles take out the one bullet so he can reload with a stripper clip, whereas he would reload with single bullets if there is more than one bullet

The last Battlefield game that was made with passion & how DICE core members tried their best to win EA's trust on BF1 since using WW1 as the main setting was never implemented much in many shooter games before judging on how limited potential & fun factor it can be.. but long story short, they successfully created this masterpiece.

You can also "trip" on those shells in BF1. If you go prone, and try getting up shortly after. You'll hear a *clang* *clang*, and you'll be forced back into prone. If you mash buttons like I do, hitting the jump button you'll recover almost seemlessly. But this is true, with the action I described anywhere, it's more noticable when you are being supressed or actively taking damage.

Even more interesting in BF1 is how the light also moves when the lamp is moving
3:20 COD shells were hitting two different types of material. BF1 they were hitting the wall and floor made from the same ceramic tile. Point remans though there are some differences, good and bad from both sides.
The only levelheaded comment lol
As a completely biased Battlefield fan, especially that BF1 is my favorite one,
i still have to admit that we should not compare CoD and Battlefield too much.
Models, sounds, effects of explosion are fine but we have to remember that CoD is more arcade game
And for much smaller maps the destruction seen in Battlefield could be too much.
CoD always was a smaller scale game. explosion crater in middle of a map could change a lot in CoD
but in BF it's almost no difference in such huge maps
The destruction has much more of an impact than you say it does in BF1. It can COMPLETELY change how the game is played. Like on Sinai Desert, the very beginning is absolute hell to cross. As the match goes on, more craters are made, and you can use those as cover. St Quentin scar can change quickly too. The town is nearly leveled pretty quick, and it brings more open sightlines. Though, on some maps like Ballroom Blitz, minus destroying the roofing and camping up there have little change. Mainly the ones with one massive structure. Minus Empire's Edge and Fao Fortress, because those forts can be destroyed by the Dreadnought's cannons
@@wildwyatxbox "...the destruction seen in Battlefield could be too much."
i know :3
sometimes i do a hole with my assault to later go there as a recon or support
destruction in BF1 and V gives the player a lot of freedom and strategic opportunities
i just wanted to say that for battlefield it works but in Co on small maps it would mes up the map, CoD is more arcade and maps should be well crafted and always without change
I feel like bf1 was a passion project from dice. So much love was poured into this game. This game was amazing.
DICE stated it actually was. Apparently before BF1 they were very interested in doing a WW1 game but EA didn't think it would sell well. So DICE had to fight EA to allow it
Can u explain how a 5 yr old game looks better, has more things happening and has way larger maps than the last cod release?
Yeah because cod vanguard was really bad and wash trash even their zombie mode is bad
Easy, BF1 was made with love
Vanguard just was made
@R Unlike Battlefield who releases unfinished games every 2-3 years, much better.
@R Sounds like sports games, too. lol Basically a yearly roster update and every few release gets a new mechanic. lol
Battlefield 1 is a passion-project with a soul.

@@venommusic2310 now they r replaced by sjw politicians i guess 🤦🏻
If I'm not mistaken, they made a new studio.
Bf is dead
Most of the developing team from bf1 either moved away from EA or retired.
Most of them already left the studio so that's not possible and also EA wants battlefield to be like fortnite so it can attract little kids and make tons in microtransactions so a war focused battlefield will never happen again instead you'll get soldier flossing and dancing emotes
I never noticed these details but they make me appreciate battlefield 1 so much more
Just because you see people keep their rifle “shouldered” while reloading doesn’t mean they’re aiming. Aiming and reloading instead of getting cover/concealment is an insanely ludicrous thing to do. As an earlier comment pointed out, BF1 is an older game no doubt, it still somehow pummels vanguard in the ground
It's impressive how many details I never consciously noticed; but also that every one goes into making the whole experience as high quality as it is in bf1. Even when you don't notice something is there, you know when it's missing.
5:33 the reload cycle of the battlefield series of games is more accurate to real life because you want to be able to see how you're loading your gun, if you reload the gun like how it is shown in Vanguard you may accidentally put the magazine in wrong, either upside down or backwards
also how easy is to change it while barely movig the sight right
@@AlexMadhi what?
also in Battlefield 1 the soldiers are not experts they are simple men recruited in the ww1 instead in cod they are "experts"
2:06 in bf1, shells come immediately with a powder charge, which is why they explode, and in the vanguard are simple blanks without a powder charge. Even if these are land mines, the bullet will not penetrate a thick layer of metal and will not detonate the projectile. So I didn't notice any mistakes here. Or maybe the developer is lazy just)
Ive always found CoD games to be very static and lifeless when it comes to the maps. Weak physics/no physics at all, no destruction, poor effects and details etc...
This video proves my point once again.
It’s honestly sad to see a game from 2022 be wrecked by a game from 2016. I still play BF1 to this day and it’s still fun. Vanguard is already dead while BF1 is still goin strong.
I was playing BFV the other day when a FlakPanzer was shooting at a friendly tank at an angle. I had never realized this, but half of the rounds would bounce off the tank, but the impressive part is that they would then explode mid air after bouncing off of the tank, that's some crazy cool ballistics and certainly looked sick. I'll never not be impressed by Battlefield games (2042 exempt)
9:25 i think you mean vanguard but what's the point. vanguard might as well be an expansion pack of warzone by this point.
Its more like expansion for mw19 .
Thats what i said when i first saw gameplay, it feels so bad, and unrealistic
I have been playing bf1 for years at this point and haven’t noticed like 80% of these things

I like that battlefield 1 manages to keep this level of detail while still being fun to play, it manages to stay somewhat accurate even though it's not sandstorm or post scriptum.
6:35 in real life, it is actually a terrible idea to throw back grenades as they tend to have short fuses so realisticly, bf1 technically won there.
If a grenade lands at my feet and I have nowhere to hide I'm sure as hell gonna try throwing it back. If the fuze is so short I can't, it means it's too short for me to take cover too.

In BF1 you take less damage from explosives the closer you are to the ground. Also there’s a form of stop, drop, and roll in BF1 if you just lay down while on fire to stop the burning effect.
Laying down to avoid grenades is a real life thing that soldiers do because grenades explode upward. It's something that most games don't seem to do.

BF1 was ahead of it's time when it came out. Pure brilliance
As much care and attention as DICE put into their animations, taking a single shot at the ground and the gun *instantly* becoming caked in mud is so funny to me. one big thing that bf1 has (not entirely sure on vanguard or maybe it is not even applicable as a comparison if the equivalent docent exist in vanguard:
in bf1 clip size matters, if you reload a bolt action rifle that has say 5 bullets shot, the soldier will use a speed loader to load 5 bullets immediately

Cod vanguard will never win this masterpiece
True that. Even though I really....really want call of duty to knock it out the park with a historical shooter. I didn't expect much from it, but everything in vanguard feels rigid and static.
@@spakentruth That will never happen tbh
People comparing "6 YeAr Old GaMe" to "NeW GaMe" are idiots. Ill give it to you that Vanguard is a more "realistic" cod then most but cod has never been close to "realistic" like battlefield. It's not being lazy or bad game design to not implement a fucking sneezing animation because "we sneeze irl"... that's not what cod is. BF has always been more realistic and COD more arcade. I do enjoy these comparison videos a ton but people saying "better development" or "bad development" is based of some animations and mechanics that a player will use once every 10 games just shows how clueless those people are about game design. Now this is just a quick example and it is obvsly more then animations and such but you probably get what I'm saying if you have read this far.
Great vids tho I enjoy the comparisons, just not the idiots in the comments lol
@DeathBeforeDishonor1776 what even is this comment? And how does what I’m saying even contribute to “pay to win” I’m talking about development and how it’s unfair to compare games with different demographics. Are you good?
@DeathBeforeDishonor1776 I hope to god you didn't play og cods back when it was lootboxes and actually p2w. Explain to me how cod today is p2w when every weapon in its battle pass is FREE and everything (for pay) in games these days is weapon cosmetics? I can't speak on BF as I don't play the new ones but I imagine it's the same. Today's publishers make more money with cosmetics than they ever did with P2W tactics. what games you playing dude, the video is about Cod and BF and neither have been p2w for a few years now
2 years later! Nobody remembers call of duty and everybody still playing bf1
Also Theres no “My Team” and “Enemy Team” this vid really showed how much dice cared about bf1
