    Because there is already a block in the game called Basalt, maybe you should rename your Basalt to "Volcanic Basalt" or something similar. Also maybe have a way to turn one into the other like a stonecutter recipe maybe? Anyways I love the video, keep up the good work!

      The mod is completely apart from the rest of the game, meaning the inventory is saved and once the player travels to this dimension everything done in it is apart from the base game. This gives me more control over mechanics and how things work but also requires a lot of things to be remade at times too.

    really cool biome, but, and this is just a personal opinion, I do feel like the basalt texture is a bit to noisy for it to generate that much. its a good texture but maybe make a slightly smoother texture for the basalt and have the original texture used for a "rough" variant of basalt and generate them in patches or blobs throughout the biome?

      I agree I have been catching up with peoples comments and another person may have pointed that out. I will change it in the future once I get the prairie dog made which is what I am currently working at the moment.

    this is really cool! But try to make the cobalt texture a bit more homogeneous, because the contrast between the bright part and the darker part is too heavy

      Do you mean Basalt? I did not add cobalt.
      The basalt texture could use a remake for sure.

    Is there a way to have mobs know locations around the world? Im trying to make mobs build colonies and have them not do it if there is already a colony within 500 blocks. How would I make it so mobs can check the location of all nearby colonies?

    • @NorthWestTreesMCreator

      Chances are if your asking the question it will be way advanced for your current understanding.
      You would need to use file manager create file for each world and then store a object with the cords for each village that was created. This won't support generated structures but structures created by an entity. The position would need to be obtained from the file before the entity builds a new colony.
      But I feel that if I explained in more detail it would be overwhelming and possibly deter you from working on the project.
      I have tutorial on file manager if you feel inclined to learn the plugin though I am not sure what the fait of the plugin will be as the developer decided to leave the community. Though another member on the MCreator team said they would take it on for continuing the development but I am not sure if they will fallow through with it or not.
      But with that said I hope this helped a bit I do have script to get the namespace and registry for the dimension which can be used to make per world config files to keep the config more simple you may need to replace the ":" with "_" as file names don't support ":" but hopefully this won't be to overwhelming. What your trying to do with your mod is really advanced even for me so may be wise to put the project on hold or at least the feature until you are more familiar around MCreator.
      This is the script I mentioned.

    can you show us how to make custom mob spawn conditions?

    • @NorthWestTreesMCreator
      @NorthWestTreesMCreator  4 місяці тому

      Entities spawn randomly, if you want an entity to spawn you may want to generate them through custom structures while saving the structure with entities. There would be to many other factors to consider picking a set location.
      For example terrain height, if you set the entity to spawn at a specific Y level say sea level good chance it will spawn in or under ground. Then you have the respawn factor, you don't want to many spawning so then you need to factor that in and run tests. Its simply to complex to do without coding otherwise. Though probably possible it would require a lot of events taking place in the background. One spawn location not that bad factor in a bunch of locations you will lag your game.

    • @NorthWestTreesMCreator
      @NorthWestTreesMCreator  3 місяці тому

      Bandicam these days.
      I used to use Action! before but ran into to many issues with OpenGL applications so I moved over to Banicam. Its pretty reliable from the time I have been using it. I only encountered one issue when recording with windowed application, clicking off of a full windowed game in some cases can frees the recording but this is only really possible when you have more than one monitor but its not to bad otherwise.

    could you make a tutorial explaining how generation from biomes works because there is no video for 2024.1?

    • @NorthWestTreesMCreator
      @NorthWestTreesMCreator  3 місяці тому

      You would just need to create a instance of a similar biome and generate things in the borders of that biome under ground, it would need to be after terrain generation but should be possible to make cave biomes based on secondary biomes. However its not the same way Mojang does their cave biomes, we don't have full support for changing that for custom biomes at the moment.

      @@NorthWestTreesMCreator I meant to make a video explaining how the biome generation values work, such as temperature range, humidity range, etc. and how they affect the biome. From what i've seen, there isn't any video made for version 2024.1 that explains the changes (or a tutorial on how to create a biome). 😅😅🙏

      Had to give it some though, if you make a entity hurt procedure for the entity and apply two NBT variables based on the X and Z position you can run something like below for the math using a random integer between -10 and 10 for min and max ranges. You would want to combine the location of the entity for the coordinate with the random number.
      NbtX = X + [Random Number1]
      NbtZ = Z + [Random Number2]
      If the value of the position is in the negatives when this is added with X or Z it will actually subtract the value so you don't need to make different conditions for negative positions. You can confirm this with a simple calculate on your desktop.
      You will also need to make a logic NBT variable and set this to true, it will be used to test if the entity should use the script for pathfinding. Also set a number NBT variable I will just call it NbtTimer for reference here. Set this value in ticks for how long you want the pathfinding to last for. 20 ticks per second so maybe try 300 which is 15 seconds.
      However the second part you would need to do once you have the NbtX and NbtZ variables assigned after the entity is hurt is the tick update for the entity. If the logic variable is true you want to make sure the entity runs the pathfinding block and for the X and Z location use the stored NbtX and NbtZ variables you saved prior. You will also want to run a NBT timer when this is true and count down if it reaches 0 you want to set the logic variable to false this way the entity does not get stick trying to reach the save location and the entity can once again run the script.
      I hope this makes a bit of since, it should work as long as the entity does not go through a portal as it would lose the NBT variables but other than that it should be fine.

    when changing json files and starting the game again it just resets them to what it was before

    • @NorthWestTreesMCreator
      @NorthWestTreesMCreator  3 місяці тому

      It will depend what your changing. If its something you have made with MCreator you need to lock the element that generates the file. If your using something like File Manager for config settings then it may the way you have it set up when your JSON file is created. For example when the world is loaded, you could be resetting the file every time in some cases when using this kind of trigger to generate config files. But if you mean element json files like recipes then you need to lock the element first.
