Yamaha Tenere 700 Barkbusters Handguards installation | T7 and XT660 bonus

Barkbusters Handguards are simply the best and most reliable handguards for adventure motorcycles. Barkbusters have served me for 60,000km on my Tenere XT660 and they have fulfilled their task countless times. Now it's a time to install these on my Yamaha Tenere 700
In ADV motorcycles, their main use is to protect the handles against breaking, not to protect the hands from the wind, as many wrongly think.
In my case, the Barkbusters handbars turned out to be the best solution mounting-wise. The advantage of this model over others is its very durable aluminum construction. It’s absolutely the most important protective element of a motorcycle. Without them, even innocent motorcycle dropping could end up with a broken clutch lever or, even worse, the brake lever. Such a failure cannot be afforded during off-road journeys.

Hey, I have 2 questions:
1) seems like you don't reuse the stock handlebars weights, but some other included with the guards. Are they doing a good job suppressing handlebar vibrations, like the stock weight do?
2) do you need the strong guards if you have short foldable levers?

Hey, these handlebars weights are much lighter so you will feel the vibrations more. On Tenere 660 I did drill a thread, but on T7 the vibrations are not a big deal.
If you ask me, I will always use strong handguards. I crashed a few times really hard. So hard that my engine guards bended but nothing serious happened to the handlebars. I bet in these cases I would break the levers or even mounts.
