- going over the how tos and what is needed in order to install the super awesome Acerbis handguards into the Tenere 700.
nothing really wrong with the stock and or other branded handguards but I have been a fan of the Acerbis.
These guards will need to be combined with the Barkbuster BTC-06 hardware mount system and then you will need some of your own finding hardware such as spacers and bolts etc... your local dealership should be able to guide you or help you along with any local hardware store too.
The specs: What you will need to make it work.
spacer will need to be 26mm long and have internal diameter for 8mm bolt.
main bolts will be M8 x 1.25p x 40mm long
tapered bolt will be M8 x 1.25p x 35mm long
slight trimming of right side mount L bracket needed to fit properly against the master cylinder support plate.
Handlebar risers are a must. 15mm Minimum. I used the Genuine Yamaha 20mm risers part number BW3-F34D0-00-00
You can also rotate your handlebar clamp 180° which will push your bars further forward. Please consult with your Yamaha dealership to perform such task for safety reasons.

Exactly what I have been looking for.. bar end weights a must
Glad to be of help!
Could you not flip those handlebar brackets upside-down to clear the tank?
@daithimurphy1832 no, due the banjo bolt from the master and the clutch perch. It would cause the guards to be all wanky. this is going back a few years I'm sure there are better systems out there by now...
Cheers
Rob
Hi Paul, here in United Kingdom, fantastic video just what I’ve been looking for I noticed you have kept the OEM bar weights did you have to do any modification to them at all as I would like to keep them standard as you have, but I have watched a couple of videos and some people have had to have them modified. Thanks in advance 🤘

As long as you order there barkbuster universal mounts and trim that small portion like I showed you on the video you'll be fine for that. You do not need to modify the bar end weights or handlebars but......... you will have to.... HAVE TO. Buy the handlebar risers. You can either get them from Yamaha which is what I highly suggest or go on your own but make sure to get quality hardware.
Other than that, you are golden mate !!!
Fyi. I'm from the UK.. miss it so very much.. born in Yoevil ! 😉😉
Cheers and email me if you want the template for your front shield if you buy the adjustable riser set.. here's a clip.

@@itsadyerthing that’s great news. Thanks for your reply reference the bar rises I’ve got the new Tenere world raid. Come standard with the bar Risers which is great news. If you could email the template that would be amazing and any other info , I’m just sorting all my parts out at the moment.
GP micci bash plate / HP course high exhaust/ tail tidy .
PS love the Jeep. I also have the JK black ops addition.
Thanks Your a star
Regards Paul
Rob the colour matchesreally well,I think you should keep it. Very nice indeed... keep it up,
Let's see how she behaves this summer lol...
good video and thank you for your tutorial and advices. P.S. do you have a link for buying the blue allumium spacer?
I'm so sorry Daniele, I do not. These are from a box of hardware I had at work just bits of left overs from other projects. It was from Yamaha Snowmobile ski handle upgrades if that helps any...
Cheers
Rob.
Take the brackets off and do the powdercoating. You will be pleased with the look and you'll then say it was worth the time and money spent. I did the same to my trials bike. Will put it up on the web soon.
True that!!!.
Cheers
Rob
Did you use any of the Acerbis hardware at all? Or got what you have listed and that was it.
As for acerbis mounts or brackets, no did not use any of it. Only used the BarkBuster mount kit with a slight trim in the master cylinder banjo brake line retainer section. This allow me to retain the handlebar bat ends and grips. You do need to get handlebar risers !! It's a must otherwise you'll strike your fuel tank cover...
But once all said and Done they are rock solid and look great without loosing out on bike vibration etc...
Did you purchase the Tenere 700 kit? or a universal one? I can't understand why they would do such a half assed kit for such a great product. Thanks!
I'm not sure what you mean by kit. I know the
At Yamaha Eu had made up a accessories kit containing a few items easier for a consumer to order but here in North America we have to order each item individually. No kit was created. I don't think it would be a price savings anyways for a kit so it still be better for a consumer to simply order what they desire.
Cheers
Rob
@@itsadyerthing My mistake. I seen a bunch of websites selling the kit listed "Yamaha Tenere 700 Acerbis .. etc" I assumed it was like the barkbusters kit, which actually is made a little different for the Tenere.
I love you t7
Thanks mate.. I think Yamaha hit the nail on the head with this color combo...
Such a fun ride
you dont have to have raizers. as i dont. you have just about enoch space if you place the mid brackets in the slits to the outside of your bike
And what setup do you have on your T7. Would be interesting to see how you have it arranged. Please share if you have on IG. Cheers
Rob
What a pain in the ass!
Yes but oh so worth it when you actually use it. Saved my fingers a few times and hasn't budged !! Very pleased with the outcome..
Cheers
Rob
Acerbis..A SIR BIS
Great.. now there's three pronunciations hahaha ax-sur-bis, a-chair-bees, and a-sir- bis. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 from now on I'm simply calling them awesome hand guards lol..
Cheers and thanks for making more of us even more confused. But all in good fun.
Have yourself a great season Sheldo. 👍
Got to say it fast though. Lol.
There is only none way to say Franco Acerbis companies name. Ah-chair-beez. Def not Atribeez.
@@46fully I married a Fullerton and she's always right too. Gonna be hard for me to pronounce it that way but I'll try.
