- It is time to make some changes!
In this video, I will show you the modifications that I promise. I m very careful what I add to the bike and as you can see I prefer to remove things.
Full disclosure: The handles and the GPS bracket were sent to me for free from a German company Donner Tech but because I have never seen such a great design and quality, I am more than happy to promote them to each and every one of you.

4:40 Only remove the catalytic converter if you want to smell like gas all the time.
Plus it sounds just great in stock form anyway.
The only reason to mod exhaust is weight. Noise will just get us banned.
I follow u since 2016 if i remember well..how 5 years time fly out.. and i feel happy for you too with a new bike.
Greating from 🇲🇾
Thank you for your videos! They are very very helpful for me and it’s so much fun to watch them.
Found your channel because I am going to buy a t700 next spring, your modifications are good inspirations!
Schöne Grüße aus Berlin!
Glad to help!
Thank you Pavlin for showing us in details some of the modifications. The Seat Connector Blot solution is genius, appreciated. Plamen's shop and workmanship looks good and I wish him a lot of success.
Our pleasure!
Loved that Pavel - new bits for your bike - AWESOME ! :)
Nice update to the garage by your friend, looks great!
Thanks!
Fantastic mods. I can't wait to see the finished product on an official trip.
Plamen's shop looks fantastic. I don't think we have seen it since you all got together to fix it up.
I hope that Plamen makes and saves a pattern when he makes something like that exhaust bracket. I can almost guarantee that someone else will want him to do that exhaust mod, and having patterns would make the job easier.
Thanks for taking the time, Scott!
Pavlin, you do a great job with these videos. I appreciate them greatly, as I also own a T700. Keep the vids coming, and many greetings from cold and soon to be snowy Minnesota!
Thanks, will do!
Congrats on your T7!!! I’ve got the same color as well. Great info and keep the mods coming…Enjoy!!!
Thanks, man!
I am so happy for you and your new ride. Safe ride 🌎
Thank you, I will!
Nice job! Congratulations for your brand new machine! It´s beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Congrats Pavlin on your new tenere and your's friends as well, I am seriously considering to get one as well - it is on my shortlist!
Go for it!
Congrats Pavlin!!!! Tenere 700 is my dream too.....
Hi Palvin..I fixed Acerbis X-Factor by guidence of your video..Result is perfect..Thanks a lot🙏
Happy to help!
Quality content as usual!
Much appreciated!
As ever....Great vlog. Loved it 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Pavlin
Nice mods. Thanks for sharing
Cheers Barry
Any time!
Congrats on new bike. Really support your upgrades. For me: less is more
Congratulations Pavlin! From Bahia, Brazil.
Thank you!
Good video, Pavlin....appreciate you sharing your modifications! I went with the Barkbusters made specifically for the T7 (no mods needed) and did the same seat mod a year ago....good choice! Like the back handles, but not sure they would work with my luggage system! Rather than just cut my levers off, I plan to replace with 'shorty' levers and do the Camel ADV, clutch mod for 2 finger clutching and wider friction zone. Interested to see what you will do next! Ride safe!
Do whatever is good for you Allen!
Really like the modifications….
Very practical…..well thought out….
Thanks, Ray!
Nice to see a ”real” workshop that modifies parts to make it work! 👍
Thanks for the video. Very interesting.
Any time!
Great to see the garage you helped on is stiil goin n looking great Ride Safe 🤙🤙🤙✊✊
No doubt!
شكرا من كل قلبي ❤️ بافلن ، انا اتابعك من زمان واحبك
Two bikes! Congratulations 👏 , new adventures in the future, пока 👋
Yes! Thank you!
It will soon be perfect.Thanks.
Yes it will!
Another beautiful video Pavlin. I wish i do have the same good mechanic like you do have.
Thanks, man!
Great! And the holy Cable Lock is back 👌🥳 it would be my dream to stand with you one day in the garage and talk about the bikes.
The world is small... soon or later we are going to cross our pats.
What an ingenious mechanic Plamen is :)
Absolutely!
Simple genius
That seat mod is superb. Why yamaha do not do this?
A proper mechanic. A simple lathe made the spacing for the hand guard look easy and that exhaust is great work.
Lots of Teneres will be receiving the same upgrades I think..
Thanks for sharing Happy travels
Thanks for taking the time and for the support, Richard!
Pavlin you are like a child with a new toy😁, hope to see more of these video and best regards from Mihai-România.
Coming soon!
Congratulations on the new Moto. Well done, and curious about upcoming changes. Hug
Thanks!
Some modifications means preparing for a long journey...! 👏
Definitely!
great job
Nice job overall. I had more or less the same issue with the handguards but I chose to move the levers a little (1 cm) on the inside on the handlebar and not cut the levers.
Thanks for sharing!
Looks great! High quality parts. I can personally confirm the high quality of Acerbis guards. I use them on my 250 enduro bike.
They can take a lot of punishment...
I agree!
I’ve got them on mine enduro as well, starting to get a bit bent now, need some “adjustment” after hitting the ground too many times! But they sure have saved my levers many times! 😁
Hello Pavlin, congrats on your new Ténéré and thanks for your informative videos. I published the mod with the seat 1 1/2 years ago on my Instagram account. However, I would also rotate the rubber bearings 180 degrees. Then the metal sleeve fits better. Greetings from Greece. Jan
I will check it out!
This is the way 😎🤘🏼
Thanks for taking the time again!
Pavlin, I am jealous!! I still make do with my hopped-up '88 KLR 650 (+). The old dog just will not die! But the T7 would be my choice. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
My pleasure, John!
Hello Pavlin. Congrats on your new tenere. I totaly agree with you on travel light philosofy. You like to go offroad, but you already said "no crash bars", I know they add weight but don´t you think is better to damage a crash bar, that the costly lateral plastics, in the case of a fall?
Plastics 100 euros, crash bars 250 + weight.
Честито Павлин! Да си го караш със здраве
Мерси, Христо!
Very nice and entretainment video after my wisdom tooth extraction my Pablin. Very nice and usable accessories. Greetings as alwais fron CDMX.
Thanks for taking the time!
Congrats for the tenere! Just an ideea: use some threadlocker for the bar ends and the handles, will save some trouble in time. Cheers!
love it, I'm afraid that maintenance is expensive because much less accessible, just for the valves for example. That's why I keep my perfect xt660z one that has never seen a dealer in 80,000 km
Valves needs to be checked ever 40.000 km not very expensive...
XT660Z needs valves check every 20,000km
@@motorcycleadventures yes, I control myself and no need to adjust them since on my xt660z
Great!
Nice to see ur new Tenere 👍👍👍 but steel nd iron u can use "GunBlue" on, instead of painting, because painting iron takes at least 2 stages ( with priming )....
U really need to see "Sven Olsen" - when he had his Tenere 700 - he had done some "must have" mods on his.
I do what I need and I have zero interest to watch what others do, sorry!
Nice video Pavlin, but don't forget the fork protection it's important in this bike
Very true!
Useful as always ✌
Just love how you cut ur brand new bike 😅
Glad you liked it!
I have wanted those Acerbis for my tiger for a wile, they looks awsome, by l find them very expensive here. Some day Santa drops by.. 👍🏻Good work sir☕🇳🇴
Yes, they are expensive.
@@motorcycleadventures but they looks great
Looks cool. Any information about how the torque curve changes from the exhaust mod? Or does it only affect peak power?
He hasn't done anything, just ride it.
Love the handles, really well made and high quality. The Acerbis lever protectors are quite ugly in my opinion, hope they serve the purpose! Good luck with your new bike!
I agree, Zeta make some much nicer looking ones think they are called the adventure model
Well... I like them!
@@motorcycleadventures Thats the main thing! haha
Hi, nice modifications. Why did you cut brake lever and clutch lever end?
if you change pipes and muffler and then you remove the lambda you need remapping, do it on a test bench and you will enjoy the difference!
I do not plan this for now. Maybe in the future.
Bro you got a New Tenere.....I did not this....Super Busy here in Miami and lost track of your Videos....Gotta back track your videos and see how many Kilometers your Old Tenere lived....
Best of luck with your New Tenere Mr Pavlin
No worries
Very interesting and useful video. Thanks for sharing. Acropovic system sounds awesome. Do u plan to change yours?
Not sure yet!
cool videos
Buy coolride grip heating, no problem with any size grips.
I prefer to have something that I know very well.
Pavlin, if you get the Oxford adventure heated grips they are longer.
I know, but thanks!
The mods are good for the purposes you require. Just one thing I believe it could be an MOT ( yearly vehicle inspection ) certificate failure to have safety ball ends missing from brake & clutch levers on motorcycles in the U.K. or in EU countries .
No problem in Bulgaria
@@motorcycleadventures No problem is good for adventure riders 👍
Great Pavlin, you get things done quickly. When will you start a long trip with the new Tenere 700?
Cheerio, Günter from Nürnberg/Germany
When I have the chance!
I put on the Accerbis X Factors and didn’t have to modify anything? In fact it was a really easy install. If you’re looking for a great sounding quality exhaust that doesn’t cost 1/10th of the bike itself, I highly recommend the Black Widow exhaust. It’s got that perfect dirt bike brruuuppp sound that gets peoples attention without being obnoxious. I also recommend a sticker set, they really transform the look of your bike. SKDA makes some nice ones and they’ll let u further customize it by allowing u to put whatever logos u want (with some exceptions) and numbers. Keep in mind all these sticker sets have gaps so u will want to pick a set that will color match your tank. Unless u have the black bike like yours, most sets you will probably want to paint the tail fairing black…which of course is much easier to do BEFORE u put the stickers on.
You can install Acerbis X Factor, on Tenere 700 without any changes, only if you remove the bar weights. No interest of changing the muffler.
Just one more thing! I hope you get to test ride the Aprilia toureg 660. It would be interesting to see how it compares to your Tenere 700.
I will do it when I have the chance!
will never be as reliable as Japanese
Aprilia are not exactly known for quick parts availability or for reliable electrics .Not very good qualities for an adventure or touring bike .
@@maskedavenger2578 exactly, for long distance touring a bulletproof bike is needed.
@@Will-sc3hw It’s got to be a Honda ,Suzuki ,Yamaha maybe Kawasaki also ,they are the most reliable .never had one break down on me .Only ever had the odd puncture on a Japanese make bike in over 50 years of motorcycling . 👍
Very nice motorbike Pavlin! that's going to be fun! Are you still planning to do something about your fuel cap? Greetings from Holland
Not for now.
Does tube tires bother you? Will you always carry tools for flat tire repair?
No! Yes, I have tools.
One of the last continents/country to sell leaded gasoline stopped a while ago. The Tuareg and Tenéré have nicely placed converters for heat??
It is what it is!
Pavlin, very interested to see how you get along with your new T7? I’m considering changing my own 660 Tenere for a T7, but there’s something that troubles me a lot on the T7, and that’s the very narrow seat!!
I wonder if this will become quite literally a pain in the butt for long distance travel?
Regards,
Dazza. 🇬🇧
It is okay, yesterday I did 350km and it was fine.
Congratulation on your new T7 mods, but for some reason the video cuts short. I will try to see the video later.
All good from my side.
@@motorcycleadventures yes, the problem was my smart phone. Thanks!
I'm wondering if GPS holder fits also for xt660z tenere, could you tell something about it?
Never tried!
Are you thinking of doing the exhaust mod? I showed you mine (the high Akra) on Facebook, and I really think is a must. Congratulations for your new bike, by the way!👍
It is definitely not a must. I don't plan such a change for now.
Hi Pavlin! Why You decided to put acerbis than barkbusters? They have storm model which is wide and better wind protection. Just curious.
I like this model.
@@motorcycleadventures And functionality is similar?
Hi bud! Don’t know if you saw my video regarding Acerbis install.
I also cut the oem weights.
No, I haven't! I will check it out!
@@motorcycleadventures pretty much as you guys did, just a little more complicated 😆
Don't forget to put the Bulgarian Flag sticker on it! Pozdravi
Pavlin that tenere looks very clean, when you’re planning to get it on real trip?
As soon as possible. This will be the only moment when the bike will be so clean.
No oxford heat grips?
Coming soon.
Супер! Поздрави на Пацо и бат' Светльо!
Мерси! Ще предам!
What did you put on Donner mount? Whaz kind of phone holder? Where did ?ou get it? Thanks!
Link in the description.
If you had bought Barkbusters with the t700 kit it would have fitted straight on the bike with no mods.
I know but I like Acerbis model more.
I really like the idea of angle grinding the levers to be shorter (less chance of snapping off with a fall, easier to use with one or two fingers).... Is there any major downside to doing this?
No, just the pros.
@@motorcycleadventures Thank you for the quick reply!!
Dumb question Pavil, why remove the ends from the clutch and break leavers?
When you hit the ground, the levers brake first. When you remove the ends, they don't touch the ground. Also, this gives me more space between the handguards and the grip.
Ok I see Pavil, thanks for getting back to me , I enjoy your videos 🤗
@@motorcycleadventures Illegal to do that, if any German police checks you, you will not be allowed to go further.
Congrats, although I've test ridden T700 and IMHO it is a really good bike for offroad but do not behave good and smooth onroad so I am still looking for my choice, maybe a new Touraeg or Husquarna - but then there is a question of reliability and service ability in the middle of nowhere :) Maybe Himalayan ... ;)
If the Tenere cannot meet your requirements about road riding I cannot see how Tourage, Husqvarna or Himalayan will!
@@motorcycleadventures well, I am just looking for something which is a bit more road oriented. I need onroad performance, some of the off-road capabilities ( some forest roads but no hard or sandy terrains), reliability and a bit of comfort :)
@@sawomirdebski4426 Ténéré is just fine for all the requirements you have.
It is road capable - I have done stretches of 7-800 kms a day. It is off-road capable, simple and I hope reliable.🙂
@@vesso_georgiev Hi, I know it is "road capable" so you can travel with it, but it is slow, cornering is not precise, brakes just can slow it down as they lack initial bite and so on. So IMHO (after test riding it for a weekend, but spent last 10 years mostly on Hayabusas, previously KTM Adv and GS1200Adv and a few more bikes) it is really good off-road (more than enough for my needs), it is ok for low speeds onroad and it has good price/performance ratio. If you need to travel with higher speeds like highway stretches it is not good for it as handling, brakes and wind protection is just not as good as in other bikes. Of course everything in life is relative. :)
Oh this is the renovated garage from a video before!
How about some foglights? (just kidding!) Cheers!
Yes.
Hi Pavlin. What is the name of the service location?
Here you are: rtw-adventures.com/motorcycle-mechanic-in-varna-1.html
@@motorcycleadventures Amazing. Thank you!!
I know you hate adding weight but some crashbar will protect that beauty on any normal stupid drops on the ground that happens all the time. Stay safe
I will take the risk.
Maybe I just missed the part where you tell this, but why do you remove the balls from the levers. I had it removed and to replace with original to be able to register the bike in my country
When you hit the ground the levers bend. If you don't have the balls they don't touch the ground.
I cringed a bit at 9:50... that's a really good way to cross-thread a bolt.
It is what it is!
😊
What ok earth? Doesn't T7 have helmet lock by default? I've always thought it's mandatory item in European bikes.
I haven't see helmet lock on a bike from a long time.
@@motorcycleadventures Really? I've never owned bike without one. Ie. my zzr1400 has two. Second is though really well hidden.
I was going to reverse the seat bolts by using the Allen Wrench in my tool kit. However, my tool kit sits under the bolted seat and I could not access it! 😜 Great job Yamaha. Not!
It is what it is!
Do you plan to modify the seat? I can help.
Not at the moment but I am curious to know what you offer.
@@motorcycleadventures I live in the south of Poland and modify the seats.
@@motorcycleadventures I sent a message
From which MT07 did he use the exaustpipe ? I dont want to ruin my stock-pipe with leaded fuel in africa. Thanks in advance.
Any MT07
@@motorcycleadventures thank you
مدهش وجميل
Cool!
Pavlin, would you sell me original T7 handguards?
I will keep it for now.
So which "tiny country" is this in?
Bulgaria.
put on safety glass for your eyes , 6.45.
Did all those other people come for haircuts?
the good old 640 Adventure has sturdy, hard plastic hand guards that protect and dont crack. Inexpensive & effective. No need for Acerbis or Barkbuster. I'll never understand why Yamaha uses this crap..
It is a budget bike...
@@motorcycleadventures well, if you consider it a budget bike 🤔 i think for 10500 euro we may expect the basics.. an MT09 costs less and has lean angle sensitive ABS quickshifter slipper clutch 3 cylinders 120hp 😄
keep those original parts you have taken off safe if live in Europe , Europe is moving towards anti tamper laws in the next 5 to 10 years you will not be allowed to ride a privately owned vehicle that has been modified.
Of course I will keep it.
Please complete 200000km on your old Tenere🙏🙏🙏
I won't, sorry!
For cut clutch and brake handles you would Not get permission under review for next year.
I will take the risk.
