    I really wanted the PB-4000 or the PB16-Ultras but when I reached out to SVS, they advised against it and insisted that I purchase the SB-2000 based on the dimensions of my room. I was blown away. Customer service is amazing. I'd definitely recommend reaching out to SVS before your purchase. I've never had a company that was more interested in making sure my purchase will have the most impact over selling the top model.

      Did you see my REL review also? The REL 1205 and SVS SB2000 are very similar in spec. The cool thing is the REL is $100 cheaper but of course does not include the cell phone app. I'll also be reviewing the Rythmik L12 soon and then possibly a video comparing all 3 so if you can it might be good to wait for those videos :) If you want to know before or can't wait just email me. @@NemoPropagandaMinus the cell phone app is the REL 1205 better than the SB2000 in your listening ear opinion?? My local BestBuy guys push the REL hard over the SVS brands and they are “not” on commission, but must be a motive some kind of way to push REL. I don’t know much about REL they don’t market their products as much as SVS.

    Had the B&W 610 sub for a month...switched over to the SB 2000 PRO.....the punch you get on the SVS woofer is fast, super crisp and does not muddy the highs and mids on my 603 Towers. Different bass profile - the SB 2000 PRO allows you enjoy the bass impact of a true HT experience while keeping the integrity of my B&W speakers hearing every nuance without the over bass hum . The SVS does not do that. Accuracy and realism in a soundtrack whether it be movies or music is so important in picking out the right woofer to match your LR and C speakers. Totally happy with the switch to the SB 2000 Pro. If you are an audiophile on a budget - do not go Klipsch or DEF Tech....invest in the B&W 600 line and this subwoofer. You’ll get the better HT experience. Trust me. I’ve done 2 months of testing and research on all 3 speakers. This is the perfect marriage for the most critical ear.

      I actually love the 6 series subwoofers by B&W, they are tonally excellent for music but are way too low on power for theater use. I think i'd be extremely happy with two 610xp subs but at $1800 each it just doesn't make sense for me.

      @@NemoPropaganda Last winter I upgraded our system and didn't properly do my research. I wound up with a pair of B&W 603's, which are fine, but the ASW 610 just doesn't deliver any kind of kick and is extremely overpriced. I've been mostly looking at the Hsu VT-2 mk5 and the PB-2000, but your comments about sealed are interesting, and I'd also think about the Hsu ULS-15 if I were to go that way. It's going to be a mix, music for me and movies for my wife.

      @@robertkrawitz8237 The 610 is good it just doesn't play very loud due to it's limited power :(. For a mixed system I will almost always recommend a sealed subwoofer unless you are looking for "fun" over accuracy in your music then a ported is okay too :). The SB-2000 Pro or REL HT-1205 would be a serious upgrade over the 610.

    Great review. I'm a car audio guy through and through and have always gravitated towards sealed subs, especially JL Audio. I was not a fan of Klipsch ported subs such as the SPL series for home audio which I tried hard to like. Hard to configure with dsp. (Ported plus room gain nightmare) Just picked up 2 SB2000 pros and all the sudden brought me back to my car audio days... very clean subs and easy to calibrate with the built in DSP. I also picked up my dream machine Marantz 7015, my front stage Focals 826 ,center and rears. I bought 3 pairs of SVS elevation for Atmos sound, Panamax 5400.. a great protection for my gear, Panasonic UB9000, Sony Oled 77 , I came out of pocket about &2,000 to get this stuff, my insurance handled a huge amount .I wanted to get what I wanted no short cuts. i got tired of getting up to modify my sub settings as well so i run my sub-out to a JBL Nanopatch volume knob (which sits with me right at my listening position) then to my sub just for this reason. i'm sorry but every song is recorded, mixed & mastered differently and bass is a huge part of that dynamic so i HAVE TO HAVE the ability to change my sub volume accordingly and its usually, every song unless i'm playing an entire album. and movies?... a must have. this app to make changes should be standard on all subs. a nice touch. def looking at SVS for this feature.

      While the SB3000 will play louder than a single SB2000 Pro I don't think it will have the sense of scale as dual SB2000 Pro. If you want to replace your pair of SB2000 Pro I think at minimum you'd want something larger like a single PB2000 Pro or PB3000.

    Have u ever reviewed the JL audio d110? If so, how do you think 2000 pro stacks up against it?
    Last question: would u recommend mixing two diff subs in a Room? Eg svs 2000 pro and JL audio. D110

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  3 роки тому +3

      I have not heard the D110. Mmmmm mixing two subs, okay so most people would say NO DON"T DO IT!! And I would say that's generally true. But, if the two subs have a similar enough sound it can be done. For example while they are different I did briefly and successfully use the Rythmik L12 and REL HT1205 together as pairs. Both subs integrate well and have excellent SQ so they played well together. The same was true when I used a pair of REL T5i together with the Rythmik F12SE, those 3 subs played well together also. I would generally recommend people use matching subs where possible otherwise it's a bit of a dice roll.

    • @ABHORRANCE831
      @ABHORRANCE831 3 роки тому

      Definitely good questions! I've got the D110 on my short list as well. The acoustic data shows a slight dip at 55hz, which is what I dislike about my current SVS, compared to Rythmik and REL. However, hearing is believing, vs stats on paper. I use JL in my cars (while a different animal all together), I'm familiar with the brand and love it. When I bought my Dynaudio Excite towers I demoed them with a JL Fathom sub, which IIRC, still was the best thing I've ever heard (but way over my budget, hence the Dominion interest). My system is 50/50 HT/Music so I wish the Dominion came in a 12".

      Thank's Harry. SVS subs scale very well, all 3 model shave the same general sound but each model up gives you more of it along with more low end extension and maximum output/control at the limit. The 3000 is a fantastic subwoofer but keep in mind if you use the grill the biggest difference is the 3000 uses the metal grill while the 2000 uses the more traditional fabric grill.

      @@hclandscapes at lower volumes they sound very similar, at louder volumes of course the 3000 starts to strut its stuff with more low end extension, maximum output, and control at the limit. Hello Nemo,
    I'm in the market for a new subwoofer. I have small home theater room ,mainly used for movies. I currently have a Klipsch ported sub. I went to a local REL dealer in my area last week and man, I heard the REL HT/1508 and HT/1205 and I was impressed how tight the bass was. It has serious fast better bass that blend well that I could not hear before, especially like gun shots. The Klipsch sub has just rumble effect bass in my opinion now. Unfortunately, there is no close SVS dealer to me, so I can't experience the SVS subs and can't tell the difference between SVS SB2000 pro and the REL HT/1205 or HT/1508. My main issue is more between the sealed and ported version. 2000 is about the right size for me. But ported versus sealed? That's more up in the air. And the PB-3000 has tuning for running in sealed mode. And then there's the size. My SB-1000 is tiny, and I really dig it.
    So really, I'm pretty much down to selling my SB-1000 and getting a 2000 pro model, but not sure which. I'm guessing I'll be OK with the sealed version, I do enjoy movies, but I'm no where near to having a home theater setup anyway. Small tiny cube, maybe a second one later, sounds good to me.

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  4 роки тому +1

      Ported is going to have way more output and will have less of a leading edge to it's sound, this leads to what a lot of people describe as "slow" or "sloppy" sounding bass. Everyone has their preference though, if you've never had a ported subwoofer in your room I'd say try it and see how you like it. The low end is significantly stronger than an equivalent sealed model. The size of course is another consideration. If you're coming from an SB-1000 the reality is anything you're considering is an upgrade so I think you'll be happy no matter what :)

Trying to decide between a pair of the SB2000 pros, SB3000s, Rythmik F12se (s) or the Rel T9is. Looking for the best of both worlds. Love the app on the SVS models as I can switch the pre-sets for either watching movies or listening to music. I understand that the REL and Rythmik models mentioned here are mostly for music. Did you check that test track Put On with the Micro3000 before you returned it? Wondering if it was able to handle close to 20Hz at volume in that song? If yes, I realize the 2000Pro will perform better, but how close are they?
    At volumes under 85dB I really don't hear much difference between the Micro and the SB3000. I have gotten the Micro to bottom out, but I'm careful not to push it to its limit again. I'm concerned though, how do you know when a subwoofer is bottoming out because its very hard to hear that metal on metal sound masked by the music?

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  Рік тому +1

      Well, we're all a little different with how sensitive we are to differences in sound. To my ears the difference is fairly noticeable. I've always felt the Micro extension spec was a smidgen exaggerated. The SB2000 pro had a much larger sense of scale, better extension, a sense of effortlessness to it that Micro cannot reproduce and more control & confidence at the limits of extension and output. As far as hearing the distortion or limits of any sub usually they just start to sound crappy, less dynamic, transient response suffers, etc... Those types of things generally tell you the sub is approaching its limits. Of course the slap sound of a VC bottoming out is also a sign but most modern subs have intilligent limiters built in that greatly reduce the likelyhood of that happening.

    Hey man thanks for your previous replies on your other video. This is more for my future planning, but I have convinced myself in 6 months - 1 year to upgrade my PSW10 to the 1000 pro. The thing is I'm really split between the PB or SB. The PB here in Canada is 820 and the SB is 700. The PB is quite massive (not really a problem but maybe transporting it when I move to another city could be a problem). My speakers are vanatoo t-0, it's a pretty small 4inch speaker, which is perfect for me, sound darn amazing and I don't want to get anything bigger than this. I just recently moved my PC gaming rig to the basement so the room is bigger (used to be in my room which is much smaller), but I don't think it makes that much difference since I'm using them nearfield anyway (sitting right in front of the computer) so I don't care about it not having enough coverage for the size of the room. In terms of use, I use it a lot for music, youtube, some movie watching (which is amazing as I have an ultrawide monitor), and gaming. Gaming specificalyl, I'm kind of split between using a speaker for single player games and my beyerdynamic headphone for multiplayer. So yeah, PB 1000 pro or SB 1000 pro lol. Kind of leaning towards the SB but I'm just concerned that when I watch netflix series like Dark, stranger things, etc. it won't be as impactful. I'm not a speaker maniac so I won't be getting any speaker any more expensive or bigger than my vanatoo t0. Similarly once I get this SVS 1000, most likely I won't be upgrading to anything higher. Thank so much for your advice!

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  3 роки тому +1

      Personally I would not match up a speaker with 4" drivers to a ported 12" sub. I think the SB would match better but yes of course you will have more output from the PB. Since you have a mixed system SVS app will be super helpful since you can make 3 custom profiles. Between the two if it was me I would pick the SB and just accept that I won't have as much theater rumble but be happy because the sound overall would be more cohesive.

      Hey Backrack01, having a good subwoofer is never a bad thing but if you're looking to save some cash and don't mind losing the cellphone app the REL 1205 is a strong competitor in the 500w 12" category and does some things a little better, if you want to save even more cash the smaller HT 1003 might be right up your alley and should pair nicely to the RP600M. A system should be well matched and have great synergy but that can become an expensive quest. The iotaVX is a great amp and it has tone controls so you can always cater the sound a bit if it's not a perfect match. If i had the 600m I'd have no problem pairing it with the IotaVX and REL 1003, that's a great budget system in my opinion :)

      That's hard to answer as those are different prices, a pair of SB3000 for example would be $2000 while the used PB2000s are $900. I would establish a budget first but if you're comfortable spending any amount the pair of SB3000 is great but you will have more low end output with dual PB2000 so it really depends on what you're looking for and if you want sealed or ported. If theater is your primary focus the dual PB2000 would be ideal

    I think one way to look at the 2000 vs 3000 comparison would be to say that the 3000 does everything the 2000 can do, but with less effort. The usual car analogy is the 4-cylinder vs the 6-cylinder. That 4 banger can hang with the 6, but it has to work an order of magnitude harder to do the same thing. As a result, in the case of the subs, you can feel and hear the difference. How well the room loads, less of an edge on certain frequencies, so on and so forth. Great vid!

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  4 роки тому +3

      Kind of but the 2000 can hang with the 3000 to a point, as the frequency drops to sub 30hz the 3000 really starts to be on another level, same at the extremes of volume output and room loading. At lower volume the 3000 is still better with more defined edges and such but those differences are a bit smaller.

Give a recommendation on whether the bigger model would be better for 2 channel computer desk set up or if the smaller model would be more suitable etc. That's the reason why I could see people debating which model they should get. In other words, would the better model be too good for its own good depending if you're too close?

      Hi Austin my channel is for 2.1 stereo reviews. I don't do desktop reviews, i don't even have a desktop system, hell i don't even have a desk in my home so i cannot give such a recommendation. I think it's clear by my review format that everything i say is in the context of a 2 or 2.1 or even 2.2 channel stereo system and that it's generally understood that everything in a desktop environment is scaled down so there is no need for me to mention that. I understand everyone utilizes the space available to them and for many people that's a desktop only but i don't have the experience to comment on that. If you're big into desktop setups i would check out zeos channel zreviews, he often talks about desktop or soundnews is another great channel that focuses more on desktop.

    Great channel! I have the SB3000 for my home and love it but need something lighter for portable use with a JBL MK2 battery operated PA. JBL can hit maybe 110db max. I play heavy electronic synth music and also full symphonic music at 100db+ in the home. Need something less than 40lbs. I don't need the handles of a live sub or the ruggedness just looking for max performance. This is not for gigging, just personal mobil use. As an audiophile I'm looking for the best SQ but need the most slam/attack for loud listening. This is for playing tracks only no live instruments. Here are my choices regardless of price: SVS SBMicro3000, SVS SB2000Pro which I read can hit 121dB at 30Hz, a Live sound sub- Bose Sub1 480 watts, 40Hz low end ,118RMS, or a Studio sub the RCF Ayra Pro 10 goes down to 30Hz, 120dB max, 300watts RMS. Live sound subs generally will not extend as low, they accomplish their high SPL output by tuning them to higher bass frequencies, some of the large 18" pro audio subs only extend down to about 40hz for example. Your weight limit and SPL requirement make your goal a bit of a challenge but I believe the SB1000 Pro is probably the smallest & lightest sub that can do over 110dB at 30hz but I'm guessing you already saw that and felt better safe to go with the 2000 Pro so you're not stressing it as much and to that I agree. I recently reviewed the sb-2000. In terms of output it’s a lot better. The BW is a bit better in sq and nuanced detail. I would take the SB-2000 because personally i will sacrifice minor nuance detail for authority and output in terms of bass. The SB-1000 i have not listened to yet.

      @@steve121758 God bless, that's a proper sized room you have there. All 3 brands make fantastic subwoofers but JL has not been updated in awhile and is rather expensive so lets kick them out of the party and invite Rythmik to the table. In a mixed system it's better to stick with a sealed subwoofer. So at the high end you can go with Dual REL S/812, Carbon Specials, or 212SX. If that's too expensive some lower cost options would be a pair of SVS SB16, a pair of REL Predator HT 1508, or a pair of Rythmik G22 or F18. if your aux port is a 3.5mm output and you use a 3.5mm to RCA adapter then yes it will work but this is extremely important: it must be an output and volume of the sub may or may not adjust with volume of the boombox but if you adjust the volume from your phone then it might adjust all together.

      @@NemoPropaganda Excellent reasons to go smaller indeed! However this is no ordinary van =D. I've built in a 900W Solar Array with an 8kWh Nissan Leaf electric vehicle battery system with a 3kW (5kW Peak for 10 min) Victron Inverter. This thing runs a 240V Minisplit A/C all day. I really want the "mini/portable festival vibes" so I am trying to find the biggest sub I can practically fit under our bed storage area along with our other adventure gear. The SVS SB 3000 seems to fit the bill. I bought it with the intention of testing it and returning it for another if it doesn't work out. The box van has a 1 piece aerodynamic fiberglass box on the back of it and it has some really interesting resonance already with our JBL Boombox 2 so I am excited to see how much it can take. One of our ideal situations will be to open up our vans commercial roll up door in the back and play music from there, it might really help to amplify the sound and give it some direction, which would be great! Anyway, I appreciate your time to follow up so I figured I'd break things down more. You could see some exterior shots of our van @thirdeyesamuel on IG.
