    Found some of your older videos too and I am absolutely amazed by ur years of sharing. Thank you so so much for your thorough notice to the details and take on the ukus. Saw your reply to one of the comments on this ukulele. Frankly speaking, if you receive any of these ukus for your own keeping or sales, you deserve it.

    Every time you have a Flight ukulele I get ready to see another great instrument. At this point they would be my go to beginner and mid range uke recommendations. They seem hard to beat for quality at a good price. My TUS-50 is still the uke I grab the most to work out a chord pattern or song I just heard.

    How important is setup when shopping for a ukulele. I see these sites like the ukulele site that advertises their setup process, and wondered if a standard setup really improves the playability or is it just hot air to advertise their quality control?

    • @GotAUkulele

      Setup in any ukulele is 110% important. A bad setup means a ukulele will not play properly and likely out of tune. Playing IN tune is critical.

    Brilliant review as always. My angle on this is it has a decent pickup for putting through the peddles and amp, with the effects bit for a bit of fun. A couple of questions though, is it the same pickup on the standard Diana (obviously with the funky bits)? Does this have a low G or be ordered with a low G if it doesn't?

    • @GotAUkulele

    Hello! I watched your review on this beauty (about 30 times!) and ordered one February 1 and I just received it on March 16, 2020. The TransAcoustic unit only works if it's plugged in and I'm not having any luck with Flight resolving this issue. It did work one morning for about 3 minutes, then it went dead. The Green Light comes on and the yellow one comes on when charging, green when charged. Do you think it's the Transducer that's the problem? Flight told me if I send it back, due to the popularity, I might not get another one, so I'm going to try and fix it myself. I really love it, but the reason I paid so much for it was for the Soundwave effects when NOT plugged in. Thanks in advance for any advice you might give this old lady. Cheers!

    hello got a ukulele! what about the neck, i know that when you are don't happy with the size of it i'm, because I've very very little fingers, (my size is about 145cm from my feet to my head )unfortunately, i' don't like the sound Hawaiian of soprano ukuleles, i 'have a kai tenor 700 but it is difficult sometimes for me with some kind of accords. i choose ukulele by chance the last year for my birthday, i first try guitar few years ago, but i felt very uncomfortable, so i like groovy and funky sound, i think i know that you are very cautious with advices but perhaps, have you got a little piece of way for me to find the right ukulele match with my soul and my fingers? Anyways we can see when you like a ukulele is written on your face! i like it!

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  4 роки тому

      This is a tough one - neck width and profile is VERY personal. However I just prefer wider, flatter profiles because those ARE the trad Hawaiian style - regardless of scale. Really hard for me to advise though as it's not about how tall you are, or even how big your hands are - it's more about dexterity, finger length, finger width. It's totally personal. Now is not the time you can do this, but when lockdown ends I can only advise you go to a good shop and try as many as you can and work out what sort of profile and width works best for you and go for those.

      Think of a transducer pickup - it reads the vibrations a uke makes and turns them into a signal. It's essentially one of those conncected to a vibrating disk which runs in reverse. The processes sound then vibrates back into the body. Very cool concept

    I don't like to color scheme at all. To many colors. It is to busy. Between the abalone purfling, the red edging, the color of the top, the wood of the head stock, and that gray color, it's just not visually appealing to me. It reminds me of the color scheme of McDonald's. A McUke. They should have left the back and sides a natural wood color. Get rid of the red and replace it to match the Abalone Purfling of the sound hole. However...the deal breaker is the pickup. You can dress it up with as many effects as you want, in the end, it is a black square drilled into ukulele. I will stay with my passive pick up. I love Flight too. I have the Flight TUSL-35 , and the TUS-50. This one was just a let down for me.

      Interesting - I like the padauk trim a lot and think it goes well with the walnut. And darker backs with lighter tops (cedar / spruce) is as old as the hills a combination in guitars and the like. Each to their own of course, and I get that the electronics wont be for everyone. Certainly different though!

      @@GotAUkulele It always puzzels me why more uke companies don't do passives. You have more knowledge of this than I. I just like relying on my amp and pedals for control. When I look at the higher end ukes, they always have the passive option for pick ups. I hardly ever see active ones being offered.

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  4 роки тому +1

      @@Bob_Amaral_Photography Well, obviously a passive wouldn't work here - the whole system relies on power and processing to make it work - it's why I understand the controls being there as it's NOT just a pickup. But I am with you on regular pickups. I think there are lots of reasons. They are 'plug in and go' for beginners and run hot enough output into poor and small amps without needing a pre-amp. They are kind of worry free out of the box. But good passives will always sound better and it's why the higher end offer those and I know virtually no professional who plays anything else.
