@@thevideoends617 but wouldnt be funny. I just imagine the clicker getting hit in the face then looking down at the sandwich then back at Ellie then back down at the sandwich like wtf? And Ellie just shrugs her shoulders like "what? thats all i got" lol
@@LialaNaema I just discovered your channel. Great reaction. Its hard to find a genuinely blind reaction to the show. Im a big fan of the game and everyone i know that watches the show knows the game so i was looking for a completely blind take to see the reaction and yours was great. Just a piece of advice if i may. Invest in a couple boxes of kleenex.
I like how they are portraying the cordyceps in this. The addition of the tendtrils and almost hive mind mentality they displayed when you step on a patch of fungus makes them feel less zombie like and more like the cordyceps is trying to spread itself far and wide. When the doctor examined that body and cut open that wound, it looks like the corspe was filled with the same tendril material. So it's like what that Professor said on the talkshow in episode 1. The fungus replaces the host's flesh with it own and basically controls the body like a puppeteer. And thats what makes Tess' death so gruesome. The runner wasn't "kissing" her. Yeah it looks that way and it's suppose to looks like she was being violated. But it was just the cordyceps seeing a easy opening for infection directly to her brain.
About detail... Opening montage supposed to set in Jakarta, but the registration plates shown are Bali 😅 But other than that, they do have wonderful sets.
The Last of Us has introduced me to several new youtubers as my spare time for the past 10 days has largely been watching other people watch this excellent show. You earned another sub
Craig Maizin and Neil Druckmann said during an interview in regards to the ending of this episode: "We wanted a chance to show a different result of being infected, which was not one of mere violence or horror, but rather a sick kind of community. Now, at the end, we had an opportunity to show how connected they were," he added, explaining the reason behind that horrifying 'kiss of death' and the fact that the infected are all part of a hive mind. Additionally, co-creator Neil Druckmann (who also wrote the game) explained to Entertainment Weekly that Tess' encounter with the infected in the show illustrates that "these things don't have to get violent unless you're fighting them from spreading [the infection] further."
The infected of the series is a pretty tragic thing because they are simply just puppets being kept alive by the fungus. The people are actually still alive and even aware for a good portion of their infection. not being able to control what they do. Such a cruel fate to endure.
Good job, your insights are on point. As a long time fan of the OG game, you're in for a treat. It's a terrifying, tragic, funny, scary, beautiful story. and Druckman/HBO are doing a banging job of rendering it so far.
I love this series so much. They did the clickers so damn f***ing awesome! Disturbing and terrifying af! The cinematography, the score, the atmosphere, the emotions ... just perfect! They are so good at building tension. There are so many shots I would love as a picture at my walls. I need the last scene with Ellie at my wall
@@mr.nobody9697 I personally don’t like it, the kiss thing is weird af. Especially the way they described it and doesn’t fit Tess’s death at all and I cannot imagine them doing it the same way if she was a male character personally.
@@clover2739 I guess depending on how you see it decides on whether it worked for you or not which is fair. I personally didnt see it as a kiss at all and it fit Tess character because while terrified she knew fighting in that moment would get her torn to pieces taking away her last chance to fight one last time her submission was calculated to buy more of what very little time she had left.
@@clover2739 I actually like it better because it shows that the fungus is still a scary part of the world. A lot of the post apocalyptic media tend to veer towards humans as the enemy too often and this way makes much more sense for this portion of the story, getting taken out by the very thing that is killing you in a different way brings a much deeper meaning to why ellie could be a huge key.The "Kiss" Was a bit weird, but it acted like the hive mind fungus where it is ensuring the spread of itself. So it was a cool function to see on a much deeper meaning character.
@@CimmerianAssassin from how they described it as just ‘letting it happen’ instead of resisting I still personally think they wouldn’t do this same thing if it was a male character, that’s all.
5:50 if you put yourself in their world: they’re probably fixated on what Ellie’s eating because she’s eating bread. Since the source of the outbreak was found in flour, they probably would’ve been avoiding bread etc. for YEARS. So for Ellie to eat a sandwich must’ve been WILD from their POV
but also she had fresh chicken.. which would be rather expensive in this world and hard to get in a qz. for Marlene to pack her with so much gear just show how much they valued her
Episode 1 was originally planned as a 2 part, but was streamlined into a 1 part because it made a better overall pilot episode and gets everything essential established to get the show into the first big objective. Personally, when I start a series, I try to give it a 3 episode "trial" I find that if it's piqued my interest by then, I'll extend its trial. Unless the first episodes are horrible and I cut them short. If it can keep my interest up, it can be am entire series goes by and I've watched it as the show's trial. These are shows that I probably never re-watch, but I stuck with, This is not one of those shows. This show had my interest piqued before it aired, as I knew it from the game, but didn't even know it was being made until about 2 weeks before it premiered. And episode 1 did not disappoint. By the end of the episode I already "signed on" to the entire first season.
To bomb the city is not just dramatic it’s like the only hope to try containing it because it’s impossible to backtrack it when at least 14 other people are already rooming around aggressive and infectious

Hi Liala you look pretty in video ♥️ and i really love your reaction to episode 2 my favorite part was the clickers scene , did that scene scary to you Liala ??🧟♂️🧟🧟♀️🥰
For some inexplicable reason, the pilot episode scored only 7 points, apparently, had to get used to the cast, which is somewhat different from the original game source. The second episode I rate already at 8 points. There's a lot more to come for Joel and Ellie.

The sandwich line cracked me up. The idea of her just bouncing a chicken sandwich off a clickers head is hilarious.
be better if she tosses the sandvitch away from the clickers, as it would make noise and be a decent distraction.

Every set was built for the show. The attention to detail is so good. One of the best designed sets ever. Its a great show.

So far the "sets" are exactly like in the game, almost 100-percent match. The sets came right out of the game.

It really broke my heart when Joel recoiled from Tess when she stepped forward.
