@@Cristiantoo Yes it does. Long time ago I was using watercolour paper (also from Canson, Canson Montval) it's 300gsm, and it's rough because it's for watercolour. So naturally my background and my drawing looked textured. This Canosn 1557 is a smooth drawing paper, so my drawing looks smoother.
You're so amazing person ever know. I really have difficulty making a background like you. hope I can do it after watching this, thank you very much again.
That is very well explained, thank you for sharing. Your art is amazing! Your abstract background somehow enhances the realism, I like that. I am gonna try tu use the panpastel applicator with charcoal as you did, never thought of it before. Looking forward to more of your tutorials, greetings from the Netherlands🥐
Thank you for the great explanation! Can I ask if you were using charcoal powder with the applicator and paper stumps? Thanks for another great video! 😊
Thank you for sharing your astonishing art!!! Could you please tell me what paper you use for your drawings? Thank you very much. Greetings from Peru 😊
How do you manage to get only a small amount of charcoal on your blending stump or applicator? I'm trying to use charcoal and draw like you. When I tried today I when I dip my blending stump in the powder it always picks up a lot and it makes really dark marks. Charcoal does not seem to erase very well when extremely dark.
Hi Carl, after dipping the paper stump, just wipe the excess on the tissue or paper towel. And test it first on a different paper. ☺️☺️ Yes, definitely don't go too dark or it becomes hard to erase. Also if you have access to pan pastel applicator, it's even easier to erase then if you're using a blending stump.

Does the type of paper determine your art?

Hi Jones, I don't use charcoal powder. I sharpen the pencil with my knife to produce my own charcoal powder.
