  • Let's test a couple of sub-floor adhesives. I will be using the old school tube adhesive along with the new foam adhesive by Huber (the maker of Advantech) Its not super new, its been around for 6/7 yearsish. I wanted to do a adhesion test to show yall how good the Huber foam really is. If you are still using the old "go to" tube adhesive... you NEED to watch this!!

I know the glue has a longer dry time but a week to solidify? Thats xrazy. At least cleanup and replacement will be easy.
Do you foam your joist hangars to the joists? We have to glue out joists to the hangars here or else it'll squeel like a piglet being caught

I would have never thought it would have taken that long. No, I have never glued them but might be a good idea

The tube adhesive has a prescribed application process. You are supposed to apply the bead of glue, press the two pieces together for a moment then sep the pieces for a period of time then place the pieces together again.
Otherwise the glue doesn't cure properly. Yes it would be a pain to do that with sheets of subfloor. But if you don't follow the directions then blather for half an hour about how much it sucks you are the tool.

Don’t be a pen is this morning. Too early for that. Show me where it says you have to sep pcs, never heard of that rule. I guess it could be brand specific?! If that’s true, then every house built in the world is installed incorrectly according to your specs & that makes the tube adhesive that much more useless. I’ll keep blathering on how great the zip adhesive is then! Thanks for watching 🤷🏼‍♂️
