Why is Air & Water sealing IMPORTANT on new construction
This is a very IMPORTANT step in building an energy efficient and weather resistant home. It takes very little time and not at a great cost either. Sealing this critical joint between the framing and the concrete slab foundation is a necessity. If you are a builder and this is not common practice on your projects....Make it be!

The Poolhouse / Complete walkthrough of this stunning project

I would like to thank the Dedmon's (Roy & Dee) for allowing me the opportunity to work on this project. This turned out absolutely stunning. I did not anticipate the work that we put into this project, as neither did my clients. The structure was in really bad shape... way worse than we thought. It took probably 6 months just to get the structure back to a sound state. There were a lot of thing...

I like how you hold the hammer when distressing in a dristressing way😂
Great work restoring door.
Need a gap for expansion and caulk. That’s installed incorrectly
These really short pcs don’t have a lot of movement
Video content is always great!
I appreciate that!
Over kill
Never
Schluter wants a minimum of 3/16 gap All the way around for proper drainage.
This drains perfectly, no issues and it’s almost 2 years old now
@@w.k.d.constructionllc how do you know? Did you call your customer to verify?
@@willinthearea6318 no, but I see them regularly. One of the owners is my chiropractor. This has 2 shower heads and it drains with no issues. I tapered the bottom of the tile so the bottom side is nearly 1/2”. Just the face side is narrow
Looks cool, but does that stretching at the corners either weaken the fabric or more importantly tear or shrink?
No, this stuff is crazy stretchy and sticky
@@w.k.d.constructionllc cheers 👍
The odd missed nail not a big deal. Lots of roof nails going through after. Don't waste your time.
I’m not worried about cosmetic roofing nails…I’m worried about these that are structural
Would’ve looked better if you plastered it to keep it hidden. Now it looks like eye soar. But I guess I’m not looking at it everyday - you are.
Eye sore…🙄
Why use plastic biscuits?
It’s not a conventional biscuit, they are a high end fastening system
I'm sorry sir but I'm going to have to disagree with you the most important thing is you hire Americans to do your work not Invaders.
Tape is better. Faster Cleaner. This is only Harder!!! No way
Not harder at all
Messy shit instead pf simple wrap material? Un genius. Way too make it Harder and Longer and Mrssy af. Dumb Af
This trend is so pointless
🙄
Ok bro. There was barely even one thing that was EASY to simpletons on this video. 🤣. Even for advanced pros this is a meticulous project. You guys did a great job as always. I was more surprised you didn’t whhip out the biscuit jig lol
Ha, thanks man. This project was nearly 4 years ago. I didn’t have the Lamello back then. I found some old videos that I only had music to. Back before I did voiceovers. So I’m going back and re-doing them.
@@w.k.d.constructionllc I was going to type lomello but I was pretty sure that wasn’t right. I enjoy the voiceovers a lot. Thanks for great carpentry content man. There is so much garbage out there.
The single most expensive thing in my house will be my Roof, and my Floors. I am not using Chip Board, I am using Solid Sheets of Lumber and its going to be Strong Lumber. I never want to have an issue with the roofs structural integrity. Ever.
They don’t make solid sheets of anything. These zip panels are the best you could ever have
Clean work as always
Thanks again!
I had a buddy that decked his two-story 6/12 pitched roof with ridiculously heavy 1 inch HEAVY fiberboard! 😂😂
😬
Tuba tubes.
Yup
Right on coach 🫡
Imagine what the living space looks like if the garage looks the detailed
IKR! Thanks for watching
If you’re not gonna fill the nail hole than mine as well just LEAVE IT in there.
It was taped over
This is badass.
🤙🏻
You need a lock joint bit for your router table. The end product is so much nicer, stronger and easier to finish.
It’s a great option too. This is simply a way to show those who are less experienced or may not have a wide variety of tools
You need a lock joint bit for your router table.
Better to see the Shriners in a parade than rows of Shiners in an attic
Ha, right
Eliminate the faux beams against the walls, the load bearing walls will carry that ceiling/roof weight.
Ya, I know. These are not structural there boss
@@w.k.d.constructionllc Obviously, the commenter is an idiot
Where’s the decking clips? You’re right about the layout but without the “H” clips you’re gonna damage the roofing every time someone walks on it.
Negative ghost rider, no need clips with 5/8”’zip panels. These are stout as hell. Very little movement & no damage when walk on the seams
Damn super clean look. Get it coach!
Appreciate it
Looks good awesome job!
Thanks!
You can use tape to close those miters and won't need as many mechanical fasteners
Right on
Dude, sick.
🤌🏻
Love the trash under the steps only pros do that
🙄It was cleaned, nothing was left under there
Tuba toos
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭i literally came here just for this
Well…that’s what they is!

awesome job

loved the series and looking forward to seeing your new house being built!
Yay! Thank you! Appreciate you watching.
Looks good man.
Thanks 👍
Tight at the end of your string and half inch gap in the center?
🙄
Beer a shiner is what I get charged
🤙🏻
Where are you getting that stretch tape from?

Here in Florida, more than 3 shiners is a FAIL!
🤙🏻
Noice, the feet won’t feel like your on a Rubbermaid garbage can cover ! Solid ! 👊👍😎
🤙🏻
You really do great work - got it coach! 🤠
😆
Great job...although there are prodicts that do the same thing that are much more efficient and quicker to install.
There are tapes but not necessarily a huge time saver
Good job. Been doing that for 40 years. Not seen anyone else do it. Again a great job
Thanks
I’d actually like to know if there are any houses in the Us anymore built properly. It’s all Mexican labor and corner cutters. I bet most houses these days are just 50% of what they’re designed to be quality wise.
Mine are all built beyond properly! 💪🏼
Have a genuine question and I have asked all over reddit and can't get a real answer.. I need to cover exposed faced insulation on ceiling in garage and looking for non-drywall ideas to get it covered so it's not a fire hazard
I use regular roofing metal a lot for ceilings in a garage. It’s pre-painted so all you have to do is screw it up. I have a video where we installed it ua-cam.com/video/eXH_IIP6T7I/v-deo.htmlsi=cga1kMaUo7QlgLlb
@@w.k.d.constructionllc really like this idea and appreciate you taking time for a response 👍 will check this video out and price out materials today. Have a great rest of your weekend sir!
