I'm so glad I found you guys , both Jocko & Echo , you guys inspire me .I'll never forget what Jocko said on one of the podcasts , quote "It's ok to be afraid so embrace that fear , face the demons & get to know them , but don't kill your demons , keep them both , your demons & Angels ,keep them in check .And get after it .

Most Westerners won't ever learn these truths, about N. Korea, Rwanda, and the like. They won't know pure evil, oppression, suffering, mass starvation, mass executions, enslavement...and that's a damned shame. You can't begin to truly appreciate the light without knowing the darkness.
Fantastic first half. Second half on pause, for now.

I feel like I’m listening to a podcast about Cuba. I remember when I had children in the school I taught PE who I couldn’t involve in physical play bc what they had for breakfast was cup of sugar water..This is our reality..we worry about what to call our holidays while people in the world worry about what to put in their soup..

Thank you so much for this Podcast I finished listening to it today 11/3/2016;. Just last night I was having a discussion with my husband about someone we know....We touched on a particular incident that the friend told us that happened to him. I told my husband that our friend has a big ego ( and he does). and of course my husband disagreed with me; ... However, after listening to you today and how you described Overthinkers and that is the friend to the HILT.

Thank you for your service! I think there is a huge misconception about SEALS. The un-informed believe once you pass BUDS, SEAL life becomes a good old time team. The informed know SEAL training never ends. It would be highly informative and beneficial to young men wishing to join the elite, if you would quantify the fallout from the end of BUDS, to earning the Trident, thru selection to a team. Young men today believe "getting hard" is something below the belt, not the highly tuned fighting man our country is blessed with protecting our liberty, a "US Navy SEAL".

1:10:48 - I might have to disagree here, Echo. Grew up in a very very very rough, abusive, and poor household. When I went into the world as an adult, it's more like: "Finally, I am free! I can do whatever I want! No more of this shadow looming over me!" And fucking ripped myself out of poverty and that mindset of "woe-is-me" and GOT TO FUCKING WORK.

Overthinking is not about ego it’s about mental health or dyslexia both professionals taught me about this. Mental health is complex you use disabilist languished through your talking please change this it’s very negative especially if you have arm services who are disabled physically, mentally or a learning disability.

If you gain muscle real fast you can lose it real fast.... yeah, because if you gain muscle real fast you've been hitting those juicy vitamins HARD. Its not possible to gain muscle real fast with the exception of the first year of real training, preferably in your late teens, perhaps early 20s. Physiology just doesn't work any other way. Its a shame steroids are illegal because it ties peoples hands when it comes to talking about them. If you're in the public eye you can't just come out and show working knowledge of an illicit substance but this gives new lifters a false perspective of what is possible. UFC fighters, first responders, armed forces, athletes, Instagram models and fitness influencers, the bro at the gym; its warping peoples minds.
There are exceptions of course but they are truly exceptional.
