As a classically trained musician, I loved it. Mad respect. People really don’t get how much work it takes to get to a level your at in music. So many really good musicians don’t make it even close to an orchestra seat.
Music is one of the few things out there where 100% perfection is required. No mistakes in performance

Toasted Barrel Bourbon from Michters + Old Charter Oak French Oak are my two nominations

Barrell Seagrass or Sagamore Rye Port Finish / Sagamore Rye Sherry Finish.
Loved the performance btw. As a UA-cam channel, it’s important for you to separate yourself from all the other bourbon reviewers. You do you man and embrace what makes you happy, cheers and rock on!

Barrel Amburana! It’s the perfect amburana finish - definitely has the amburana notes you’d expect, but lets the bourbon be forward in the flavors versus the typical overpowering amburana flavors. The most balanced finished whiskey I’ve had in a long long time

I'm a relatively new to your channel & I did see the vibes video. I'm a musician, guitar & mando, & I thought that it was great! I've played with a bunch of drummers through the years but never played with one who could play the vibes. Enjoying your content, great video & audio, & great pours! Cheers, Kevin

I really like High West The Prisoner's Share. I think the balance of bourbon to red wine is perfect.

Glad your going to do more performances - the vibe performance was really cool. I want to throw Barrell Amburana into the ring for finished whiskey, It's shockingly well integrated for an amburana finish. Really it's the only one I've had that doesn't overpower the whiskey. Leave it to Barrell!

    Glad you enjoyed that sample!
I keep trying to find the latest Pappys and BTAC at good prices like I did last year, but haven’t been able to. If I do, I’ll snag more!

Excellent finished whiskey to consider: Barrell Dovetail. I think it transitions beautifully.
I really enjoyed the Pourfornance. Looking forward to the next one!

Great content Cam! I would say 4 Gate Port Perry Perry. That's interesting as well about the Barton, but don't forget that the OZ Tyler barrel collapse of 2019 had 2-3 year old stock in it and its a 21%. It would be interesting to chase some down and compare them all at roughly the same age.

always love your content. IMO the best blenders who do finishing is Barrell. Dock Swinson is pretty decent too.

As a fellow musician (trumpet player), I find myself relating nosing, tasting, and finishing notes to musical elements.
The most important thing is that you do what you enjoy and what is genuine for you. The rest falls into place, from what I can tell.
As for the finished whiskey, go for Sagamore Sherry or Sagamore Port. Both are lovely and Sagamore nails finished stuff, in my opinion.

The Barton sourcing was confirmed based on some certain letter on the lot # or something if I remember right. The older ones were 4R and the newer ones were Barton if I remember right

I'm digging the performance addition to the reviews! Finished whiskey suggestions: Barrell Amburana (very well blended, nice hint of amburana finish )or Found North 006, 008 or Peregrine (probably any FN, but those are the one's I've actually tried.)

I loved the music and would like to hear some of that in the background while you talk. 4 gate old sherry pike is my favorite finished whiskey.

Lots of good suggestions on the finished whiskies. I think some good choices I’ve seen requested, which I can second, are the HW Prisoners share, Barrel Dovetail, and I’ve only had the Four Gate K5 , but I’d be interested in seeing one of them.
Finding a perfectly finished whisky that doesn’t overwhelm the final product is a tall task. As mush as I enjoy the Michters toasteds and some amburana finishes, they are just too much.
Two of my current favorites are the Backbone BJ picks. I was lucky enough to get both and they are fantastic!
My out side the box recommendation is the Found North Peregrine 20 year. It’s absolutely delicious. 76% corn, 23% rye, and 1% malted barley, finished in ex-cognac and new wood. If you need a shake let me know!

I had always heard that originally the Bulleit picks were distilled by Four Roses but then Bulleit started to have this same mashbill contract distilled somewhere else. That would match up with your theory of Barton contract distilling this alternate mashbill for Bulleit.

Finish options would be Old Forester 1910, Barrell’s shelf options, Maker’s 46 Cask, or a Michter’s toasted.

Great balanced finished whiskey IMO: Barrell Vantage/Seagrass, Sagamore DO and Sherry Finished, JM Cigar Blend/Murray Hill Club, Good Times Cigar Blend, and any finished Michter's product but the barrel strength ones are the best.

I don't know if it's a perfect finish, but the whisky with the most unique finish I've had so far would be whistle pig piggy back single barrel small batch Alfa Romeo F1 Team G-Force finished 96.77 proof.

Curious to see how your WLW vs. PVW 15 comparison turns out. My wife and I did a similar comparison a couple years ago at a bar in upstate NY that had both PVW 15 and WLW for reasonable prices per pour. We ordered a pour of each one and asked the bartender to drop off the glasses without telling us what was in each one. It was pretty much a dead heat, with the extra age of the PVW 15 matching nicely with the extra proof of the WLW. Regardless of your favorite, they are both delicious bourbons, and I would be ecstatic to find either of them in the wild.

I'd be very interested in seeing your comparison of different batches of M10B. However, maybe it's also possible to compare some different barrels of the same batch (preferably batch A) as any differences between batches might be no different than differences between barrels? If anyone can sort out that level of subtlety, it's you Cam! #mAcrobatches!

Athought i had Cam is that from what I heard is that Bulleit Rye is 95/5 MGP and is the same exact juice as Dickel rye only dickel double charcol mellows it which is why i think the dickel is so much better then the bulleit rye but i may be wrong. If that is right then it would be easy to think the single barrels would also be mgp not barton.

Am I the only person who gets burnt notes on pappy 15? I have had it 3 separate times at KY bars and all 3 times I get off-putting burnt notes on pappy 15. I would never pay even close to secondary to drink Pappy 15. If pappy juice were in another bottle and brand without the hype, I wouldn't pay over 150 for it. It's good, but has some distinct flaws, for me.
