Just picked this up from a local store, they had just got them in and had 2 cases out in the aisle, glad to hear it’s worth it! I now have a 23a and a 24a…one of them is getting broken into this weekend in celebration of my new baby girl!
Drinking this now. Very impressed , I’ve been slowly falling in love with Stagg. But what’s not to love. I think your best description is cotton candy on the nose and caramelized orange on the palate. It’s viscous and easy to drink for the proof (if you’re experienced). One of their best yet, no doubt about it.
Picked up 2 today for $52 each. Can’t wait to open one. Especially hearing it compares to batch 15. Batch 15 I personally liked just a tiny bit more then batch 12. Can’t wait!
WOW! Must be nice to see Stagg on the shelf or at least in the area. Hasn’t been listed/seen in my area for almost a year now. Rumors of distribution shenanigans being the reason.
Unfortunately I don’t see it on the shelf ever. I pay hefty markups to get bottles to review because I’m in Ohio (state run), which for me means waiting in line for hours to only possibly have a chance at allocated stuff like this.
This actually sounds similar to the EverNorth Rye barrel #03 pick. If true, I guess the question is, does Cam’s EverNorth pick out perform the beloved Stagg?
I just got a 24a last week, haven't popped it yet. Still trying to adjust to higher strength whiskey. I have been drinking 22b, 1792 full proof, a frey ranch store pick, and the Barrell grey label 24 year Canadian. Any suggestions on how not to burn my gums and throat?
Got a bottle at Publix liquor for just over $80 bucks. More than worth it. Absolutely delicious. I’ve had the last three batches and this one has an argument for my favorite
I really liked 23C was my 1st Stagg. Tasted like ER on Steroids. Which was like a 🍒 cola for me🥃. Confirmed my notes around 5 min mark cool. I always question my palate.
Nope, no relationship. I’m a professional drummer/percussionist who named the channel before I ever knew who M&D was. Actually started off as a scotch reviewer before finding American whiskey UA-camrs like ADHD Whiskey, M&D, and the Bourbon Junkies. At that point I didn’t want to change my name because music/drums are a significant part of my life, so I get asked this question sometimes. As for the set, I think lots of folks shoot on nice cameras with warm-toned sets and whiskey shelves in the background-I don’t think that’s specific to me or M&D. Cheers 🥃
Do certain markets get more of the distribution than others? I can’t find a bottle to save my life other than investing 200+. Been on the hunt since 2019😂
Who's getting Stagg Jr as an entry pour? LOL Most of us experienced bourbon drinkers can't even get a hold of one easily. I finally even found one at a liquor store in Illinois and I overpaid for a Batch 23C at $200. Not doing that again.
@@johng5710 I didn’t mean this as an entry pour. I mean for folks who usually complain that Stagg Jr is too hot, this would be a good batch for them to start with to try working their way into other “hotter” batches.

22A is absolutely one of my favorite bottles in many years. Got a 24A waiting on me at my local shop. Can’t wait to do the same comparison! Cheers!
Do it and report back please
I got three of the 24A last week @ MSRP, allocated so it took me three days, yessir.
Thanks Cam for the review, sounds like one that I would enjoy! Cheers!
22A gang! Im Lucky to have a back up.
Best batch since 17.. got 3 backups
Have them all and agree totally!!!!
They are all crushable 😎
24A is really great!!
Great review man! I would love to try all of them. Cheers🥃!

Oregon here, same, control state. I’ve seen 1 in the last 3 yrs.
I just bought 24a for $68 in VA abc store drop!!
Great snag!!
batch 15 has beat some GTS in blinds 24A is the first in awhile I think has the same potential
$54 in northern Oregon today🙌🏻
Stateline liquor?

Great review Cam. I don't see Staggs around NKY at all. I did get the New Riff Headliner in their lottery.
Damn I must be an outlier because I loved Batch 17! Haha

Sounds delicious!!!!
Very standard review
He’s my second favorite drummer on whiskey tube.
Never going to see one of these here in the UK. Never seen any Stagg of any description here.
Can't believe you got this before me. LOL
Been looking for a 22A. Cant find it under $250

Hoping to see these pop up in ohio . Just waiting on OHLQ to make my day while it seems every other state is starting to see this
Zotz© Candy!!!!
Wow what a note! Now I gotta go find some Zotz!
Yeah man! Red zotz on this one!
Not fully appreciating my 22A yet. Similar to my EC barrel proof lots of 🍁, oak & caramel 🥃
I'm in Denver and they want 300. A bottle 😢.. ridiculous

Just got 24a for $160 fl
I just paid $70 today...
I’ll pay 160 all day
I’m confused. Does this guy have anything to do with Mash & Drum? Why does the name, set, & videography look almost the same?

Yeah, it depends on how corrupt distribution is in the state.
$64 @TW today
127.6 proof is low proof ? 😳
@@robjames9627 not sure the context of me saying that in this video haha, but it would be for a Stagg
Pouring some 22A after watching this haha
I love that batch so much! But wondering if it’s just me cause others don’t seem as obsessed haha
@@DrumsAndDrams I will third 22A. My favorite so far.
@DrumsAndDrams not just you. It was a hitter! I put it above 2023 GTS and EHT BP
No oak on the nose?!
Surprising.
Thanks for the review.
Sure maybe some, but it’s not a primary component for me, especially when compared to the others
Good review to bad 85% of normal people will NEVER see this bottle.............
95%+
If you cry it might show up faster
I have 2, it’s so good
I did, $64 at TW
Got a bottle today in Bogalusa, Louisiana. $51

First it was micro batches, now it’s gateway batches….. 😑
We’re just getting started!!
I mean dude isn’t wrong…speaks the truth unlike most reviewers
