RR CNF just hit my store at $369 plus tax. I went in the store with a full intent to pull the trigger as they said they have 3 bottle left. I just couldn’t justify spending $400 for a single bottle. I ended up walking out with rare breed, ECBP, and RR SiB and saved myself $150.
Thank you for doing this!
New to the channel (I’m subscribed), you’re doing great, I’m having fun with some green river after a long day with this video!
So interested in these hitters! Subscribed thanks for doing this blind!
Great blind, thanks for putting it together. I really enjoyed it. Can’t believe you put camp Nelson so low. That bottle is soooooo good. Rus 13 always does amazing in blinds
To be fair though, the 3 bottles beating CNF are ridiculous bottles in their own right haha. Not really any wrong answers between those top 4, everyone wins
I paid $270 for a bottle of RR15…. I had to come clean …
I like how you nose ranked them first then tasted from less fav to most fav.
I usually do my blinds the same way.
Got to Turkey too late today... Was the 725th or so they only had 720 bottles...
Good stuff Cam. Cheers man.
50K bottles sounds about right to me for 300 barrels...Cal, you figured how many bottles for a full barrel, but these would have been 15 year old barrels. I generally figure around 185-200 bottles per for a typical 6-10 year barrel...so 165ish bottles per 15 year barrel seems to be pretty much in line with my thinking.
Hoping it drops at the distillery tomorrow!
Can't say that spicy is a description I'd use describe CNF, it always comes across dessert and borderline syrupy sweet. Soon as you called one of glasses "fatty" I figured that was the Generations just based on reputation.
I wouldn’t have thought it’d be spicy either. Could’ve been sequencing of pours or maybe things getting clouded in the blind. I’ll retaste them unblind and see what happens.
So if this release is 50-75,000 bottles, for comparison sake how large this release compared to other previous releases such as WTMK Voyage or perhaps the previous RR13?
Unfortunately I just don’t know. Perhaps someone else who sees this comment will have more info.
Got the 2nd to last 25 patreon slot.
Thanks for jumping in man!
Would like to see Russels 13 batch 3 or 1 in that blind.
That would be interesting. I have RR13 batch 3 and you can definitely taste the age in the whiskey. It has the wonderful sweet old oak notes that I find in the 17 year Hardin's Creek bottles.
Where can we find your bottle's when they drop?
On our Patreon page. Link should be in my UA-cam description
Thanks
So should I get the 15 when OHLQ drops it?
Yes
@DrumsAndDrams OK, I'll tell my wife you made me get it.
Generations is a perfect whiskey
