Red you are still in the summer of life full of sunshine and warmth ☀☀☀☀ I have sent you 2 Bog Seger requests one of which is one of his best known and the other is my favorite of his and a little lesser known but it really rocks ♥♥♥ #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulfuncountrygirl #heartofgoldwithmetalinhersoul #39K #bobseger #detroit#classicrock
Even crazier: we got to see all of the cool bands live for about $9 or $10 per ticket. Concerts were so great back then because there were no cell phones and cameras weren't allowed into the venue. The light shows were pretty basic. There weren't any big screen TV's all over the arena. So everyone simply went to rock out with the band. And it was great! Some nights were absolutely legendary. Like the night when I saw The Who and The Clash on the same bill for $12.25.
I was a teenager in the 70's, had a drive in 200 yds from my house. We climbed the fence, we road ourbikes in and paid, and of course in the trunks of cars, man i had a great time growing up.
So many think this is a song about young love, but, it's a song about an old man, remembering his past. I tell ya, this song hits me a lot different now that I'm 65, going on 66 in two months, than when it came out. I personally don't care for this video, but you do you. I mean, the video they made for the song, not your reaction to it.
Bob Segar always believe that a good honest energy was what the crowd wanted. He delivered that on this song. His passion and energy when he delivers a song is incredible. I will never forget this song from my youth.
Some artists just get better with time. Bob Seger is one of them. I have learned I prefer singer storytellers and am very happy I have a couple new, young artists with Angelina Jordan and The Warning to provide new songs on a regular basis.
This was played constantly when I was in junior high and high school. It also reminds me of my first girlfriend in 9th grade. It got so overplayed, but as I got older, it felt good to hear it again, and of course it takes on more and more meaning the older you get. Glad you did this one. ❤ Check out "Katmandu" for a total blast of energy and a really ratted out Bob Seger voice, lol.
Against The Wind should be next Seger song. I've seen him 5 times over his career. Fortunate enough to catch him on his final tour and he still sounded awesome.
Just prior to this video, Matt LeBlanc was in the video for Tom Petty’s Into the Great Wide Open. He had a quick passing shot as a kid getting a tattoo (same one that Tom has and that Johnny Depp got in the same video). The young couple are Natasha Gragson Wagner, daughter of Natalie Wood and step daughter of Robert Wagner and Johnny Galecki. Johnny was Russ in Christmas Vacation, David on Roseanne and of course Leonard on Big Bang Theory. The “black haired beauty with big dark eyes” is Daphne Zuniga. Lots of bit roles in shows like Melrose Place, but most notably she was Princess Vespa in Spaceballs. Cheers!
Fun fact... When Matt Le Blanc was interviewed on Top Gear, he admitted that before getting started, Bob called Matt to his trailer to go through what was gonna happen, and in the process, Bob got Matt very drunk... so have another look at Matt's eyes, coz he was hammered during the shoot! 😂😂
This song brings back memories for me. In particular when this came out, I was 18 and living in Nebraska and at the time the drinking age was 19, so buddy and I hooked up with a couple of chicks and drove down to Kansas (In a Chevy van) where the drinking age was 18. On the way there we were playing this album. This song so worked perfectly.😁😈 I finally got to see him in Sacramento for his farewell tour in 2018.
Hi! Watch your channel and I won’t lie, for mostly the Rush reactions. I love those guys, saw them 24 times. Would recommend the video Mission from the Live Show of Hands concert, the music and lyrics are exceptional.
This song is so close to the life I once lived that it's downright spooky. They are welcome to play this song while they nail down the coffin's lid. While you are on this album, try out "Main Street."
Hi Neighbor, not sure why, but this video was cut off, fading out like that before it finished. This is from the official video, but I recommend you listen to the complete song, ideally either just the audio as imo the video distracts from the deeper message of the song anyway. There is a great lyric video out there on youtube somewhere. Worth checking out.
WTH? I'm subscribed and getting this 3 days late? Oh Well! Probably my favorite Bob Seger song. Maybe top 100 songs! DOWN ON MAIN STREET and RUNNING AGAINST THE WIND are also stellar! Great Job Neighbor! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼
I have listened to Bob Seger since I was walking out these subjects. I have heard Him tell how many of His subjects come from His own experiences. I can believe that because the feelings are so real.
For you that are too young to know, that big screen is a drive in movie, aka the submarine (Trying to make some front page drive in news) They were incredibly popular. Famous for kids to sit, watch a movie with your squeeze, a couple of six packs consumed. That were before weed, Coke, simply alcohol. The best of times.
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood (Live at the El Mocambo) the greatest musical performance ever. As deep as Aurora touched you, so will Stevie. Greatest guitarist ever and this performance is beyond legendary.
Try listening to "SHAME ON THE MOON" or "MAIN STREET" he just has so many great song's to choose from "AGAINST THE WIND " is another great song. Give any of those a try. Thanks
Most of Bob Seger hits were recorded at muscle Shoals recording studio, where he used the legendary studio musicians, the swampers These are the same for white guys that played on Aretha Franklin‘s hits like respect and 95 other Gold and platinum hits from Wilson Pickett to the Rolling Stones.. there’s a great documentary out about muscle Shoals
I rode in the trunk because i was small. But that was cool because all the girls were small too!!! (If you get my drift.) There was always some A..hole that left you in the trunk way to long! Thought it was hilarious.
I agree with the comment the video distracts from the lyrics if it's the first time someone is listening to this song. Bob Seger is known for his incredible lyrics and storytelling and people tend to watch the video and half hearing the lyrics. Although you worked well enjoying both.
One of my favorite non-Rush songs, there is nothing but nostalgia, memories racing by, every time I hear this song. Also one of the few non-Rush songs I play on repeat for an hour or more, just kicked back day dreaming with my eyes closed. It always take me back to SoCal in the 90's and all those memories of my days spent at clubs on the sunset strip. That is the first time I ever saw the music video with Matt LeBlanc in it. It did detract from my usual day-dream visuals of my own. Nothing against my names-sake Matt, though the first second I saw him in the video, just for a second, I thought I was seeing my best friend from those days, his hair was lighter though.
Super fan of Bob since kid, older brothers had his albums then CDs. It's right, video just showing the album has better thoughts of words, but that's over. Triple songs then in early 80s, this, then Still the Same and Against the Wind, all top 5 songs in a row then, like this, could be any ones remembered, many good story writers, but nobody like Bob. If any had parents divorced or in bad relationship themselves, need to listen to song on Like a Rock album, called The Ring. You're so beautiful, wish you'd get rid of start song
The only thing I don't like about the video is that the song is edited, especially the reprise at the end. Be sure to listen to the studio version as well sometime.
By doing the original video you lost the ad libs at the end of the song as well. If you get a chance listen to a different video/recording you'll enjoy it even more + you get a better picture with your own imagination.
So many of his lyrics ("with autumn closing in") just hit different as we get older......
@@sjjb6780 yes!! That one stings
I've been both in the trunk and had my trunk full! 🤣 I agree with you 100% - Bob's songs hit much differently now that I'm older.
😂😂😂 those were the days. Big cars with big trunks! 😂
Bob is the best. Awesome storyteller. "Roll me Away" is my favorite along with Like a Rock.
Roll Me Away is probably his most underappreciated masterpiece.

It's crazy when I think about how many great songs I grew up with that some people have never heard.

As I always say, "hey Bruce, please, hold Bob's beer while he tells a story with true soul."
So many think this is a song about young love, but, it's a song about an old man, remembering his past. I tell ya, this song hits me a lot different now that I'm 65, going on 66 in two months, than when it came out.

My favorite Bob Seger tune is "Hollywood Nights"
The breakdown section on this song is absolutely perfect... Bob is just such a fantastic songwriter, performer and storyteller.
Roll Me Away, Horizontal Bop, Feel Like a Number, The Famous Final Scene, Betty Lou and about 100 more.
Songs don't get much better than that, great reaction.
🎼 Points on their own 🎹 🎵 🎶 standing up high 🎵 and firm - 🎶 🎵 🎹 workin on the night moves🎵🎶

Classic Bob. Seger ICON of rock and Roll ❤
Some artists just get better with time. Bob Seger is one of them. I have learned I prefer singer storytellers and am very happy I have a couple new, young artists with Angelina Jordan and The Warning to provide new songs on a regular basis.
It was a lifetime - of night moves 🤤

I feel like I've heard that one before. I've liked all the one's you've done from him so far.

My cousin's cousin, Laurel Ward, sang backing vocals on this.

I would encourage a dive into this rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed!
Who ya fixing your hair for neighbor? Lol. I love Bob Seagar.
Really insightful and heartfelt comments at the end. That's great.❤

Boy do I remember those night moves in the 70s. So many horrible movies but we never watched em anyhow 😉
Oh my, those drive-in movie memories. 😊
Easy listening at it's best.
That Dark Eyed beauty was Actress Daphne Zuniga Check out the movie Spaceballs
I was, who the heck is THAT?!?!!
This song is so close to the life I once lived that it's downright spooky. They are welcome to play this song while they nail down the coffin's lid.

Main Street is fantastic.
One more to go for sure- plenty of others too, but at this point, “against the wind” is a must!
Love his voice, had my first kiss to this song❤.
Hammond tone-wheel organ (probably a B3) with a Leslie cabinet (rotating speaker). Skillfully used. Distinctive sound.
But still like ALL of his songs!
Bob Seger!!! 🌹
Musically give me Nightwish Bob Seger and the EAGLES and i will be happy

Good ear on the B3 with the Lesie....40 years of sound engineering
It's one of those perfect end of summer song's.
Roll Me Away, please. Bob makes Michigan proud.
You cut the song short. You never stop short. NEVER.

I started humming a song from 1992.
1962 also!
Him and Tom Petty have amazing voices
Wooooowwwwwww, thanks for this❤❤❤❤

In 1974 a drive in cost $2.00 per person.
I rode in the trunk because i was small. But that was cool because all the girls were small too!!!

HAMMOND INDEED BABE
Just a suggestion. Your audio is much lower in volume than the video. Might want to work on balancing that out. Love your reactions.
He can still sing well live also...as recent as last year, check out the videos.
Teenage angst.
Like A Rock is my favorite Bob Seegar song. Most of us old guys.....it just hits us hard.
Makes me want to buy a Chevy truck though.
Daphne Zuniga is the girl
The only thing I don't like about the video is that the song is edited, especially the reprise at the end. Be sure to listen to the studio version as well sometime.
You short changed yourself the album version is a minute longer, the difference is incredible
It’s actually 2:04 minutes longer
By doing the original video you lost the ad libs at the end of the song as well. If you get a chance listen to a different video/recording you'll enjoy it even more + you get a better picture with your own imagination.
Matt Le Blanc was not Joey yet when this video was made. It was a paying gig for a young actor!
No 💩 Sherlock
This video is an ABOMINATION. It cuts off the end of the song! RedHead Neighbor really got ripped off. I'm sorry you didn't get to hear it properly.
Who cares about Joey ? Who was the girl ?
Daphne Zuniga…Princess Vespa from Spaceballs.
