I was born in a big city but ran a ranch in a small town and I miss it so much life was simple back then ❤❤I know a special country girl who is different in the best way especially how she can make a song relatable 💯💯💯 You are an amazing reactor and friend and I am blessed to have found you💕💕💕💕#redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulfuncountrygirl #heartofgoldwithmetalinhersoul #39K
It’s the kind of song that makes you instantly nostalgic the first time you hear it. It continues to do that for me many long years after having first heard it.
As deep as his music was this was my favorite. I finally got to see him on his Final Tour, and it was 3 1/2 hours of AWESOME😎 He had the biggest bass saxophone I've ever seen😲 Not on this song though. This is what music sounded like before everything turned into plastic.
Just so your prepared...this is still a very deep rabbit hole to go down...I'd say at least another 20+ songs will be requested...throw a dart blindfolded and whichever one it hits will be a good song...he's that good
Great interpretation; I hear that too. Yes, exactly, glimpses and impressions not only of lost youth but a lost world -- one that's never coming back. And I really like this production. I appreciate when things are discrete and panned hard. And, aside from some pads, there is space and air between things. It's easier to imagine individual musicians playing these parts. Bob and the Bullet are a favorite of mine and this may be my favorite cut of theirs.
Against the Wind is certainly worth a listen-as an older Gen X, it has been almost an anthem for life. The piano solo in The Fire Inside is also amazing!
Rockin Bob, our hometown hero (Michigan) Seen many shows with Bob and the Silver Bullet Band. My daughter lives now in California and a couple years ago she got us tix to see Bob play in L.A. The fans out there brought the house down when he did "Hollywood Nights" Awesome to see the love from the fans out there for our hometown hero. Now I'm sending well wishes for those folks out there dealing with the horrible firestorms. God Bless
Love ya, RHN! And, I love this song. Thank you for this. Great song, great artist. Bob Seger is definitely one of the greats. Great reaction, sweetie. 😊😊👍👍
Anything off Live Bullet ❤ start... You are here bc you want the REAL Thing!!! To finish... Good Night..Good Night and get HIGH and have a good time!! Thank YOU!!!!!!!!
I grew up near the same town as Bob Seger, In fact more recently worked in that town as well. You can still definitely walk some of it’s streets and all I would hear in my head is this song! 😊
lol yes I did think a little stalkerish with the lyrics. lol Another good song though. Without actually being able to say "I know this" I'm feeling with some of his songs that I've heard them before on the radio at some time or other back in the day. So right about the pictures, I remember someone talking about that, saying why are you taking so many pictures, why don't you just remember it. That reminds me of good joke. This couple come back from holiday and as they get home their neighbours are outside. The neighbours say "Did you have a good holiday?" To which they reply, "We don't know, we haven't looked at the pictures yet." 😂
I’ve listened to this songs since it was released and it was only a few years ago, I realized it was a bit stalker-ish. 😂 Maybe it’s because it was a different time. Maybe because Bob gave off ‘good guy’ vibes.
I absolutely love your insightful and heartfelt comments at the end! Beautiful. And yes, I think you described it wonderfully. I was always struck by the idea that he was so young but he had that familiarity with that feeling which I know very well, and it sounds like you also do. But he was still an outsider because he was too young and he couldn't go in, and it was all just kind of a menagerie for him, and yet he was emotionally connecting with it, and that in turn triggers emotions in those of us that understand that situation. I am just so impressed with your reactions.❤ It's not one of the more ambitiously poetic offerings by Bob Seger, but still it's a fan favorite, and it's an absolute high-energy banger. Probably more high energy than anything you've heard from him yet: "Katmandu". 😂
Down on Main Street ,, Amsterdam Ohio ,, That s home for me...The only phone we had back then were on a desk or the wall, and they did nt have a camera in them,
Bob was really good at capturing personal experience. Always has been. if you really like his music, check out his first album, Smokin OPs. It's raw rock, and only 3 albums away from his greatest hits. And the live one.
"Old time rock and roll" would be a good song to hear the other side of Bob's music. It also might let you know that you have heard him before but didn't know it. Of course there's always Betty Lou's gettin' out tonight, Sunspot Baby and Katmandu. Just to mention a few.
Bob's songs and performances reminded us of where we came from and simpler, happier times where the excitement and confusion of growing up meant so much more than today's contrived expectance of obscurity. The sights, smells, and sounds of that age are lost on people these days. It's difficult for someone who was there to watch videos because it's just about any artist will probably tell you it's not the same as being there, being able to reflect on those moments as they happened as opposed to a producer's idea of translating the story into a visual presentation. It's from a time when as teenagers growing up in Michigan it wasn't unheard of for someone our age to be out walking the streets in the middle of the night passing by the blues and jazz clubs, the biker bars and the other hangouts where real americana was given birth through experience. I would have rather grown up in no other time, and no other place.
If I could choose a title for another reaction: 'Fine Memory'. 'Fine Memory' is not my favourite Bob Seger song. If asked, I would perhaps prefer 'Turn The Page', 'Like a Rock', 'Roll Me Away' or ??? which are all brilliant and very popular. But also, there are so many and so different songs that rarely or never appear in a reaction like this. 'Fine Memory' is a very intimate, subtle love song and musically a little different (stripped down arrangement, no drums). Nonetheless, I enjoyed this review!
I'm really not complaining because I really like the music you've been doing like Segar but could you turn the volume up on your mic. The music is fine but when you stop it to make a comment it's like the volume is turned down to very low and it's a struggle to hear what you have to say. Thanks!
Was he a weird stalker, or a silent guardian, making sure she was safe late at night? Of course, at the time, there were no cellphones.. and this would have taken place in a little larger town (he grew up in Ann Arbor, MI a college town UofM).. great song, but most of Seger’s songs were great songs..
Roll me Away will surely get you in your emotions.
💯 agree!!

Not on this song though.

Just the tone of the guitar evokes nostalgia ❤
Love that red nothing like the old music.

Bob Segar storytelling is among the best in music. Time for Roll Me Away next.
CHEERS from Colorado
I was expecting you to suggest Bob’s old “Get Outta Denver”. 😂
“Roll Me Away” is one of my favs too. Especially on a Friday afternoon.
Not many tunes kick off with a high lead guitar and make it sound,,,,,, Yearningfull (?) Pretty nice. Great Reaction Neighbor! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼

Interesting reaction Red. I think it's about time for his song "Old Time Rock and Roll". It'll put a smile on your face!
Yeah, he's a great story teller.

Easy listening… great voice and storytelling ❤
He was a teenager when he wrote this song. Great reaction 😊
Recorded at Muscle Shoals. Great guitar sound. The late Pete Carr.

Hi great reaction Red thanks sunshine 🌞 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nostalgia for sure. Roll Me Away is another great example that I think you’ll love.

Songwriter HOF for a good reason. 🌹
Roll me away
Bob Seger Little Victories or Understanding are fantastic songs as well
Hollywood Nights
Hollywood nights is a good one, i mainly like it because of the drumming(:
Yesssss!
I think it's called I like to watch her strut
🎶😎
Shame On The Moon and You Will Accompany Me are two more great Seger songs.
❤
Fire down below is another banger....since you're on the Bob Seger train
😅
Strut is good song

Get out of Denver if you want to see another side of Bob. Nobody does Staccato lyrics like him.
