Always loved Tesla! A truly criminally underrated band! They were outstanding!
Jeff Keith is just a perfect rock vocalist.
unfortunatlly they got stuck classified with the hair bands of the 80's but they are so much more. a true blues rock band
They still are...I saw them in concert in 2017.
I grew up in Sacramento and I remember them as City Kidd and was super proud to see what they achieved. I think J and Amber are missing out on some rockin tunes like Modern Day Cowboy or even Into the Now.

Tesla is such a great band. So much to discover. No Way Out Heavens Trail, Song and Emotion, Edison's Medicine, Little Suzie, We're no good Together, Modern Day Cowboy, Love Song. Etc. :. They are hit after hit. Their Five Man Acoustical Jam recording is golden.
Ugh! I forgot about "We're No Good Together," one of my favorite songs from the first album!

Changes is criminally underrated
All of these are great. Call it what you want is another of my favorites. Some of their later stuff is good too like Pvt Ledbetter.
Frank Hannon is a seriously underrated guitarist and Jeff Keith is a great vocalist. Love these guys. Gettin Better is an overlooked song of theirs that I think you guys would love.

@Chris Tinsley Yes, but when the town of Paradise, just a few hours north drive from Sacramento where Tesla is from (and next door to where I went to college) burned down a few years ago..... it brought a WHOLE new meaning to some of us Nor Cal Tesla fans! Still an awesome song, loved it since I was a teenager.
Fun fact about this song...Jeff wrote this song for his dog that passed away. As a dog lover, I absolutely love this song. It gives it a whole new meaning.
Y'all should check out "cummin' atcha live", " makin' magic", "hang tough", and "modern day cowboy",. Just a few of my favorites by Tesla, too many to list. One of my favorite bands.
Tesla is my all time favorite band. My adult daughters took me to see them for Mother’s Day and they rock just as good today as years ago. They have so many great songs so please go down that rabbit hole!
I saw them open for Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour. As perfect a show as you can imagine.

“Underrated” is a word that’s used too often nowadays IMO, but Tesla truly is that.
I still have the cassette tape from 1994 of me calling the radio station and requesting this song. One of my absolute favorites! ❤️

I've only seen them once, but it was the only time they've done their own headline show in Northern Ireland. They supported Def Leppard in the 80s and my older brother said Tesla blew them away. ❤

I love Tesla, they are amazing, this song hooked me when I heard it in the early 90’s, they have so many grea songs, it would be impossible to name them all song and emotion is awesome, comin at cha live stir it up and call it what you want, so many. Had to see em live in 93. Best live show ever. Never be another Tesla. Frank hannon and tommy skeoch are the most underrated gutsiest’s ever. Edison’s medicine really rocks

My ex-BIL's best friend was one of the founders of Tesla. It was a bunch of guys in Sacramento, and most of them had gone to high school together. The idiot BFF quit the band because he thought they were a bunch of losers who were going nowhere.
They showed him. Thankfully, the others who had gone to high school with the ex BIL didn't hold anything against him for being friends with an idiot. Anytime Tesla played Sac, he could get backstage passes. The BIL took me with him once. Had a blast.
Tesla -- 1 of my all time favorite bands. I have all of their 11 studio albums and acoustic album. Seen them live 4X's, they're great live and Jeff Keith sounds just as good live. They're not hair metal. They're good ole classic bluesy hard straight up rock n roll.
Tesla is so good they have two greatest hits albums. The acoustics in this song is great

My first concert was Firehouse opening for TESLA! Johnson City ,TN 1992. This was their new single, they blew us away.
Was in a club in Sac town in 1990 listening to a local rock band and Jeff and Frank came in a did a set with them out of the blue! Was amazing! Have seen Tesla quite a few times since! Cheers!
I saw Mr Big in some hole in the wall tiny venue and as I was walking out I ran into Frank hanging out in the back enjoying the show also.
Oh yeah! My hometown boys. Tesla is Sacramento home grown. We all knew each other as kids and watched them come up through the ranks as Earthshaker, City Kidd and finally Tesla. Fun guys and totally down to Earth.

Two guitarist that can equally deliver some of the best there is.
Jeff Keith the lead singer, wrote this song about the struggle he was going through with having to put down his sick dog. He sounds like it starts breaking when he's singing it because it actually is breaking. ❤

Thank you for revisiting Tesla. Next, please do “Hang Tough”. This a real banger (as Jay would say). There are many other great songs by them but I’d like to Jay listen to that one. “Modern Day Cowboy” is another good one.

Totally UNDERRATED band! Listen to ANYTHING from the live album "Five Man Accoustical Jam", all acoustic, half Tesla songs, 1/2 covers of other bands (Stones, Beatles, etc.). "Signs" was a HUGE hit and the song/album inspired MTV'S Unplugged. Prooves that they are highly talented musicians! Also suggest "The Way It Is" and several other songs.
Tesla is based in my adopted hometown of Sacramento, saw them at a free concert at a park downtown 2 blocks from work, , they can do it all live!

Most underrated rock band ever. Just saw them a few years back and they still sound as good as when I saw them in my teen years. Got to check more out. Changes and Paradise are two of my favs but they have a lot of good stuff.

If you look in the album liner notes of Mechanical Renaissance? It says all noises and etc made by the band no computers or etc. That's because this band IS THAT DAMN TALEND! This will b a rabbit hole you will never forget. I promise ya!

Live this sounded perfect when I worked with them.
At the time it was just Frank and his rig was amazing.
That powerful fading in of the electrics was achieved using a Balance pedal between his clean and Gained amps.
Rather than switching you just faded the foot pedal like a volume but for balance.
It was great setting that rig up... man I miss those days.

I remember seeing Tesla for the first time in concert. They opened for Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour. The lights were still on and roadies were doing their thing and one of them, thought he was at the time, comes to the side of the stage and sits down and is just fiddling with the guitar, like roadies do, and then this song started and we soon realized the show had started and the lights go down and it was so cool.
I got a friend of mind who was DJ on the radio and ask him to play this for my wife on our 10th anniversary needless to say she was blown away.
Saw theses guys in concert a couple years ago. And they still sound like the did in the 80s. They put on one hell of a show

Mechanical Resonance was a great LP by Tesla..So many songs by them you all could do..Modern day cowboy is a banger.
A few years back went to a concert in ottawa and tesla opened for styx i think. Standing at the urinal in the washroom and the guy beside me is like i dont know who that first band was but i gotta go get their shirt. I said that was tesla and they are one of the most underrated bands ever. I was shocked he didnt know about them.

My boyfriend and I went to a Tesla Concert in 1993. It had a lot acoustic guitar but it was the loudest frickin concert I've ever been to, it was great.12 hours later still I couldn't hear.
Could you guys please react to Journey " The Party's Over"(Hopelessly In Love) either audio or lyric video. This song really demonstrates Steve's ability to hit those high notes. Very uplifting song!
I haven't heard this song in ages. Usually what gets radio play around here is either "Love Song", which you already did, or their cover of Five Man Electrical Band's "Signs" (which you reacted to the original, but not Tesla's cover). Good to hear this one again. Thank you as always for doing this for us. :)

I know these guys personally, Jeff Keith used to be a truck driver before he auditioned for lead singer of Tesla, plus they have a song called "gettin better" me and my buddy built the stage they performed on the official video at a place called The Stage in Coatesville Pennsylvania, their hardware for the stage got lost in transit and I was working at a Hardware Store where their manager came into to buy replacement hardware and asked my boss if me and my buddy and co-worker Mike Madonna could help them build the stage for Tesla to perform on.
In my top 10 faves! The riffs in their songs are amazing!
