When Amber is moved by a song, it’s contagious. I love it.
I thought she was fainting there for a second. Lol
Her love for great music and her responses are wonderful. I absolutely enjoy watching you 2 react to music I grew up on and see you Close your eyes, lay your head back just like I did when I was younger.
Their cover of " Hard To Handle " originally by Otis Redding is a banger.

@@itsmedino my bad.
@@itsmedino Jay only said he had heard " Remedy ".
Oh it's all good, I wasn't sure myself and had to look it up. Just trying to help out😁
@@itsmedino thank you 😊
J., the best thing that ever happened for this channel was bringing Amber on. She is awesome (you are pretty ok yourself 😉), and the two of you together are even more awesome. What makes your channel special is that it's a family thing. So it's fitting that both mama and papa, and occasionally the kiddos, should all be on the channel together.
Exactly. The family vibe changed this channel completely. Great teamwork.
Amber is a sweet soul and has a lot of empathy.
Amen!
Amber is a beautiful soul & the two of you together make watching your reactions 100% enjoyable 💕
Well said Jack!!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
This song is for my beautiful daughter that I love dearly but don't recognize at all. Drugs are a deadly trap that catches even the good hearted.
Hugs to you.. and prayers for your beautiful daughter… 🙏🏼
Sorry to hear that. Its so important to keep that connection and let her know she's loved. 💜
I have a daughter that struggles with it also. I pray one day she can beat the addiction.
My wife has lost a nephew and a niece to drugs, so we know what you’re talking about.
I wish her well , please stand by her side! 🙏
I adore this song...Guys, Black Crowes are amazing - haven't even started and I know you will love this!
Hard To Handle is the one you should do next ;)
YES!
They did "Hard to Handle" back on August 14. (And "Remedy" on May 10.)
I'll second, third, what ever it takes. Been forever since I've heard it
I still love the fact that “Hard to Handle” is an Otis Redding cover. They’re BOTH so good in their own ways. I can’t pick between the two.

The Black Crowes songs you HAVEN'T reacted to yet that I recommend! They are AMAZING!
🎵 Twice As Hard
🎵 Jealous Again
🎵 Seeing Things
I second these suggestions, especially Seeing Things
Jennifer I agree with all three👍 ❤️✌️🌼
Ooooo!!!! Seeing things is a MUST
Sometimes Salvation
Thorn in my Pride
My favorite line, " she wears a cross around her neck for a man she has not met, not yet." Perfect and soooo realistic.
Their song "Descending".... Killer, just killer!
Southern Rock at its finest. 'Shake Your Money Maker' and 'The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion' are two records worth listening all the way thru. And Yes, Amber needs to hear 'Remedy', its from the second record listed.
Great voice love them
Yes He I agree that
I am from GA and have seen them Way too many times in Piedmont Park!
Southern rock moves your soul.
I really liked their "By Your Side" album..
The crack in Chris Robinsons voice is part of the charm of this bands music. He uses it (I think) to emphasize the emotion he's trying to convey in each song. Sometimes happiness, other times sorrow. I love The Black Crows. I consider myself VERY lucky to have seen them live when Jimmy Page toured with them. Amazing show. If you get the chance to see them live, JUMP ON IT!
I saw it too. Fantastic. Page was mesemerizing and the crowd was 6 years old to 66. The kids had no idea how Page made those sounds.
Me too, best show I’ve ever seen and I’ve been to too many to count!
I saw that concert tour too! One of the best concerts I’ve seen.
💯
This song and Hard to Handle are my favorites. I saw them at the Greek early 90s.
Chris Robinson [singer] was married to Kate Hudson [Goldie Hawn's daughter] for 7 years...what a lucky guy!
The Black Crowes are my gospel.
I've always loved this song. You should check out Lighting Crashes by Live
Yessss
" Dolphins Cry " is my favorite by them .
Abso-freaking-lutely
@@nicolewilliams3434 I love that one too!
Definitely need to do some Live
Great great choice!!
Still looking for Sarah McLachlan, in the arms of an Angel
Brooks & Dunn, My Maria
The lead singer is Chris Robinson. Awesome reaction.
Jay & Amber: This is the shortened singles version. Some neat instrumental flourishes and at least one verse is missing. Y'all need to hear the complete album version of this song. It's brilliant. Love what you do. You guys make ME smile.
Love this "she keeps a lock of hair in her pocket and a cross around her neck, the hair is from a little boy and the cross is someone she has not met ,not yet." So beautiful.
I had three sons pass away and played this song for over a month everyday. I truly get this song and still cry when I hear it
❤
❤
I'm so sorry. I hope you find the strength everyday to somehow go on.
This is a small remedy for the soul…
🤗 ❤❤
One of the best songs ever recorded, period!
The Robinson brothers from The Black Crowes are a true classic southern rock partnership…they are the real deal. Lead singer is Chris Robinson and the lead guitarist is his baby brother Rich.
The Black Crowes create what I think of as beautiful sounds. Chris Robinson's voice is that perfect combination of southern rock, blues, soul and harmony.
I could not agree more!
My favorite Black Crowes song. Chris's vocals are so soulful; the sound fills my heart. For sure, when he sings this song live - it's even more soulful. It just cuts more deeply.
My favorite too
Acoustic version is filled with pain you’ll cry
Addiction is a disease, not a choice. We need to remember that.
ATL in tha HOUSE! Chris Robinson is lead vocalist, his brother Rich is lead guitar. The band stated out when the brothers were in high school in the northwest Atlanta suburb of Marietta. "Hard to Handle", "Twice as Hard", Jealous Again" are good songs to continue your experience.
Rich is the rhythm guitar player here, jeff cease was lead on shake your money maker. Marc Ford replaced Cease for SHMC going forward. Rich played both lead and rhythm on the by your side album. He can definitely throw a solo occasionally, but hes know as the riff master. He is one of the very best guitarists in the game, but as a rhythm guitarist
This song always reminds me of my friend Mo. She died of kidney and liver failure as a result of her alcoholism and heroin addiction. She always said the angels had her back. And thank you for picking up on the line “ the angels called her by her name.” That was the way I felt when she passed. Thank you for reacting to this beautiful and sad song.
I'm so sorry, @Patrick DeRose.
Yes
These guys are straight up southern rock. No other way to describe them.
So many great songs by The Black Crows. One I always enjoyed was Go Tell the Congregation.
Love my hometown Boys 💗. Love this song 💕. Fun fact....Chris Robinson was married to actress Kate Hudson 😁
My favorite song of all time. Addiction. You get so high, you think you’re gonna die. “The pain gonna make everything alright”. You know you will survive the high when you start feeling the pain again. Very powerful song. ✌🏻❤️
You know your stuff, I'm impressed❤️
@@jeffreyglenellen1188 I’ll be here all day! (Takes a bow) ✌🏻❤️⚾️
Unfortunately, I fully understand 😪 Except I always took it to mean the pain getting that needle in that little bit of pain is gonna eventually make everything all right when that drug hits...
I pray God forgives those in trapped by drugs, they want out but can't find their way out! God lead them to you , please in Jesus name I ask!🙏💞
Georgia boys. That's what you're hearing. Hands down the most enjoyable concert I've seen.
Lead singer is Chris Robinson. The lead guitarist is his brother Rich.
MY PERSONAL FAVORITE FROM THE BLACK CROWES!! THE LYRICS ARE INCREDIBLE !!!! 🎼🎯
It's a very sad song to me. I lost two nephews to overdose, it's so extremely heartbreaking and unfair. They were both super human beings that couldn't handle the pain they were going through. I love & miss them terribly. Bad things do happen to good people. The stigma attatched to addiction is a big problem in this world.
“Bad luck blue eyes, goodbye”. Great black crows song.
The Black Crowes music helped save my, day to day, upon returning from Iraq, as a member of the 82nd Airborne. Love to The Black Crowes, and love to you and yours Jay and Amber 🤟👊🏼👍🏻!!!
This and the cover of Hard to Handle are great songs by them
ua-cam.com/video/S1eK3m9pLuo/v-deo.html
Entire Sountern Harmony album
They reacted to Black Crowes - "Hard to Handle" back in August ua-cam.com/video/S1eK3m9pLuo/v-deo.html
Hard to handle is good. But Otis is always better, just saying 🤷♀️
@@jennifertorey7834 I agree. Etta James version is pretty good too.
As a side note, you should check out the song "Lightning Crashes" by the band "Live" (pronounced like alive) They aren't the same style, but are from the same era. I Alone is another great song of theirs.
Great suggestion. Love his voice
"Lightning Crashes" makes me cry.
Your wish has come true!!
awesome you listened to us lol . this is an awesome song . i think amber will drift off into the moment with this one
I Just Love The Gifts All Of Us Are All Given
You've got to do more Black Crowes. "Twice as Hard" is badass.
Never heard this song absolutely loved it.
Amen.
They have many more good songs! Check em out!
That's a southern twang, beautiful southern blues/country/soul/gospel sound that they do so well, great rabbit hole to slide into
One of my all time favorite songs. His voice is very powerful and is so great for story telling songs.
I’ll say it again… 90s rock just hits different ❤️
90's and 80's . Atleast to me .
I loved so many songs in the 90s. Such amazing artists. Same with the 80s. The two have different vibes but, from the early 80s thru end of the 90s some of the best artists and songs were around.
Well this was recorded in the 80's and released Feb of 1990... lol
This song is so powerful. I shed a tear or two when I hear this song. It reminds me of my sister in law who was addicted to heroin and overdosed on her son’s 6th birthday. 🖤
It's the story that gets me. The lock of hair of her little boy. The cross is of someone she has yet to meet. "yet" . . .
THE BLACK CROWES!!! They are from my hometown, Marietta, GA. Originally called the Cobb County Crowes. All their songs are life changing.
This song always brings tears to my eyes. The lyrics are heartbreaking and makes me think of someone dealing with grief and mental illness.
That twang is that Georgia accent. That voice Chris has is just special and his brother Rich plays pretty darn guitar as well. LOL Check out the Georgia Satellites "Keep Your Hands To Yourself".
I like their punctuation song too, the Georgia Satellites. Just a fun song.
Or "Battleship Chains".
"Seeing things for the first time". Amazing song!
The Crows are southern boys from Georgia. They have a very bluesy, soulful southern rock vibe. Chris Robinson (singer) and brother Rich Robinson (rhythm guitar). Rick Ruben was pulled from recording and producing their first album, the band didn't want him around because he wanted to name their band Cobb County Crows but spelled with (K) and they weren't having that. Due to the Robinson brothers constant fighting became the name The Black Crows. Chris had a short lived marriage to actress Kate Hudson, daughter to legendary actress Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell is her step dad.
This is my favorite song by the Black Crowes. It has so much depth and soul. You can't help but feel it.
You get that sense that he grew up listening to southern gospel music and R&B/Soul.
IIRC (from reading guitar magazines in the 90's) they absolutely acknowledged this.
“Sometimes Salvation” is my favorite Black Crowes song. I would love to see y’all do that one! So gooooood! Thanks for the videos y’all! Our one year old digs your videos!
Agreed grinding analog crescendos with those guitars. His voice is nailing the vibe. Like an old southern gospel witnessing under a tent to save souls.
Welcome to the new rabbit hole this band is rock and soul.
Hard to handle is my favorite Black Crowes song but this one is beautiful!
For Female Friday:
Ronnie Spector - ‘Be My Baby’
Toni Braxton - ‘Un-Break My Heart’
Sugarland (Jennifer Nettles) - ‘Stay’
Roberta Flack - ‘First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’
Other notables:
Christopher Cross - ‘Sailing,’
Kayne Brown - ‘Worship You,’
Kool and The Gang - ‘Celebration,’
Dan Fogelberg - ‘Same Old Lang Syne’
Luther Vandross - ‘Dance With My Father’
Amber will need the kleenex when she reacts to "Stay" I've seen it a dozen or more times and it still gets to me.
All excellent suggestions!
Roberta Flack - Reverend Lee or Do What You Gotta Do, both off the album Chapter Two.
@@ltrainor4078 Thank you! I'm trying my hardest to get them on here. :)
This song helped me get through the passing of my son back in '97🧡 Its just plain beautiful!
One of the greatest songs ever written and performed imho
That song makes me cry every time I hear it. Addiction affects so many families.
YOU WILL BOTH ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ONE,, COUNTING CROWS "MR. JONES"
(OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)..A MUST HEAR..TRUTH!!
My all time favorite Black Crowes song 🔥♥️
I swear girl, you have the most fabulous hair. Those ringlets just dangling down, so pretty.
TESLA "LOVE SONG",, "WHAT YOU GIVE" & "THE WAY IT IS"..MUST HEAR CLASSICS.
I LOVE when you can see the music takes over Amber. You can see it in her eyes, in her smile and it just possesses her entirely.
Chris Robinsons voice was a breath of fresh air back in early 90’s, Twice as Hard is my favorite song by them
01/20/2022 Hey Guys. Addiction sucks. Even the ones who claim "I can take it, I know what I'm doing". This is like having a sister living on horse or else. She is happy after the needle and the pain. GOD Bless them all. Homeless and ding with a needle in their arms. Personally I do not understand addiction. I have nothing to compare it to in my life, thank GOD but I still feel my helplessness to do anything about others addiction. Yea, she talks to angels, and they call her out by her name. Such a beautiful song about such a tragedy. I love this song. It reminds me of just how close we all are to addiction. Don
Love the Black Crowes. Takes me back to high school and my early 20s. *sigh*
The acoustic intro to this song is iconic and gives it a huge boost to the whole thing
I was a massive Crowes fan back when the "Southern Harmony..." album came out. So many great tunes on their first three records. "Twice As Hard", "No Speak No Slave" and "High Head Blues" are excellent tunes, among many others. The more-die-hard fans would have preferred the live version of "Boomers Story" or rare beauty "Darling of the Underground Press". Amazing band.
Yeah, for a few years they really were a dominant force on rock radio. Very talented group.
The Black Crowes are what you get if the Rolling Stones grew up in rural Georgia playing gospel music on Sundays 🎶❤️🎶
Piano acoustic is UNSTOPPABBLE!
I absolutely love this song. The whole album is terrific too.
Chris Robinson is one of those people that is amazing live! Especially doing this song! This is my favorite from the Black Crowes, "Hard to Handle" is number 2.
Thorn in my pride is a must listen and my favorite Black Crowes song.
Amber, that pink shade is amazing on you. Sincerely, your skin looks absolutely perfect.
I love this song! ❤️ Some others you might really like from this era are Lightning Crashes by Live and Far Behind by Candlebox.
Great choices. “Hunger Strike” by Temple of the Dog is another.
Deep cuts from that era, man. Good choices.
I would add Counting Crows singing "Round here".
Love that you are letting your bodies feel the soul. “Reaction” gets lost a lot of times. Nice work.
I love how Amber was feelin’ it.
Hard to handle. Probably their most popular song
I've followed the Blues since my teens, BB King, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, The Stones and so far, these young men have come the closest to what I consider an old basic blues band. Drums, guitar, bass, a lead and everyone sings harmony. I think you'll see what I mean in their song 'Jealous Again' Stripped down, no synthesizers, no voice enhancers. Simple, raw, sweat filled, basic American Blues.
More close to the “real thing” than Humble Pie? Just curious what you think…
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 Darn, very close tie Geoffrey! How'd I forget about Humble Pie!? Saw them in a BAR near Seattle. I can't choose! Both my kinda stripped raw blues. Janis ruled in this genre too.
You two did "Hard To Handle" a couple of months ago and you really liked the fast talking chorus he did (Hey little thing, let me light your candle
'Cause, mama, I'm sure hard to handle now, gets around).
When you pull yourself out of the pit of addiction, you begin to truly understand this song. #4yearssober
Good I want to go back to the 90s so bad ….. I was born in 89 but the 90s just remind me of such a great decade. Makes me cry
Omg, my favorite Black Crows song, and one of my favorite all-time songs EVER!!!
For more acoustic guitar, you should listen to Guns n Roses- Patience. Different than there usual stuff, but so good and shows Axl and Slash wide range!
Great call.
Ooof, we played that song so many times….the girls loved it, but…got my fill. It’s a good tune, but after playing it night in night out…just can’t…
JL, which track: Patience or Talks to Angels?
@@matthewdrake4385 Patience. Did Angels too, but not 1000000 times like Patience
Ah ok
A lock of her little boy’s hair in her pocket! 🥺
Great Band Your Going To Love Them .We All Do
Love love love this song. Great choice.
I love that you guys enjoyed the haunting beauty of this song. Chris Robinson is the lead singer and the Black Crowes were one of my fave bands back in the day! If you want another song with that beautiful but kind of haunting quality is “I Can’t Tell You Why” by the Eagles
This song was played 3 times an hour by ALL the radio stations when it came out. I can appreciate it more now it's not being crammed into my earholes.
omg - I have not heard this song for more than 20 years - I had the album everywhere in my life - and on repeat in the car with Lenny... I loved my free life in the mid to late 90s - then loved motherhood even more.... this time I notice the organ sound of early 60s music...
"She smiles when the pain comes, the pains gonna make everything alright. "
When she shoots up, she smiles because the pain of the needle means that the high she gets will make her feel better.
That is correct. This song deals with a lady, a single mom, dealing with a heroin addiction. The question is, are the angels she's talking to a result of the drugs, or are the angels trying to discourage her from doing it?
I thought it was about her having been abused by family! That's why she says she's an orphan after you meet her family! They were abusive addicts! 🤔
Yeah, I wonder if they figured that out.........?
If you ever go back to the Offspring, 'Gone Away' should be the next one. It's one of their more serious songs. BTW: Chris Robinson is the Black Crowes' lead singer.
when he drops off on the words its like desepration or like a teardrop
Yes!!!!! Love the Black Crows!!!
The Crowes are from Georgia. Very much influenced by blues and soul music. Jealous Again is another great song. This is like 90s southern rock. Another group you may like is Countng Crows, based out of California. If you like jazzy slower paced rock, like Van Morrison, it would be right up your alley. Mr Jones is a great start.
Definitely do a rewatch of "Remedy" for Amber and then both of you should check out their banger, "Hard to Handle"...
Another band I'd love to see y'all react to is Jane's Addiction... "Jane Says", "Three Days", and "Classic Girl" are all really beautiful and "Been Caught Stealing" is just sheer fun :)
Agreed. Also the Mountain Song.
And also Tesla…Jordan will love them!
@@reneeallen3569 Oh yeah.. "Love Song" by Tesla is probably my favorite rock ballad
The guitarist and singer are brothers. Probably why they mesh so well.
Addiction. Pain. This song helps ease the pain of lost ones
