Tesla is one of the most Criminally Neglected bands of this Era. Throwbacks that were far from GLAM and mixing some solid blues based Rock and Roll. "Edison's Medicine" will teach you more than you ever learned in school.
This was THE most underrated band from the 80's. Prolly cause they didn't wear make up and try to look prettier than the girl fans that came to see them. Thier first album outta the gate they brought acoustic along with the electric guitars. No band in the 80's had the balls to do it. They brought all aspects of rock and roll to every album.
Asia and BJ...I am a subscriber and love your reactions. I have 2 requests from Tesla...pick one or both....but..you'll dig the song " Paradise " from the 5 man acoustical jam by Tesla live in Philly....and /or tesla's song they dedicated to Steve Clark from Def Leppard who died trajicly from alchaholism...it is a live MTV performance called " Song and Emotion " ....dig this music!
"Modern Day Cowboy", "What You Give" two more great ones. Lead vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarists Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch, bassist Brian Wheat, and drummer Troy Luccketta.
@TjM1978 Tesla is Tesla. Just a great rock band. They don't fit any genre. They're just a great, and underrated band. In no order my two favorite American bands are Tesla and Aerosmith. But I think Tesla is the coolest because they're down to earth.
i grew up in the “hair metal” era guns n’ roses etc. a lot of it was just sex and drugs this is a masterpiece of a song independent from its genre it’s just a great rock song with a timeless message supporting someone you love who’s in doubt “love will find a way” all that needs to be said ty 💜💙
Tesla has a ton of hits...and still touring today. Jeff Keith Lead singer Frank Hannon lead guitar Tommy Skeho rhythm guitar Brian Wheat bass Troy Lucketta drums This video was shot at Cal Expo in Sacramento CA...Tesla's home town
Tesla (the band) is one of the best hard rock bands ever 🤘🤘🔥🔥They don't get enough credit and they have a big enough fanbase even now where they can record and tour consistently.
VERY underrated band. A couple who were close friends of my wife and I divorced. He cheated on her. I was father to her two boys for awhile. I always felt this was her song. She eventually remarried but was tragically killed within a couple of years in a head on collision in Northern Missouri. Oncomig driver had a heart attack and veered across centerline. The oldest son remains the son I never had to this day.
I've been to many Tesla shows (first one in 1987 at age 16). I've met the band multiple times, and my son met them when he was age 9 in 2007. Singer is Jeff Keith, guitars are Frank Hannon & Dave Rude (who replaced original Tommy Skeoch-who is in the video), bass is Brian Wheat, and drummer is Troy Luccketta.
A great Tesla ballad. Thought Asia and BJ you'd like this one. Check out out Modern Day Cowboy, What You Give, and Little Suzi. Thanks Paul for getting this played
Tesla is a PHENOMENAL band!!! Great lead singer. INCREDIBLE guitar tandom that few bands can touch. The lyrics are top shelf. Only got to see them play live once. Looking back I should have went to see them more. Don't let this ballad fool you...these guys ROCKED!
They are still touring together today. Mostly all original members. They have one replacement guitarist, he been with them since late 90's. Frank Hannon a truly underrated guitarist still with them (the one playing the double neck guitar in the video). The original drummer Troy Lucketta has had some health issues lately so they have had a replacement for him lately. They still drop new music all the time. Jeff Keith the singer is a wonderful person and a complete nutball to talk to. He is so funny! They are a wonderful band and has been rocking us diehards since 1986!!!!
The Lead Singer is Jeff Keith, and Frank Hannon is the Lead guitarist. This was shot in front of their Home Town, Sacramento, Ca. I am going to this same location (Cal Expo) for a country concert today. Although sadly, the amphitheater in this video is long gone.
I was there that night. They played this song 5 times to get the footage needed. That amphitheater was the best venue I've ever been to. Held about 10k people and all the shows I went to there were general admission and you could sit in the stands or stand at floor level. One thing for sure is that when Tesla played locally it was electric. They are phenomenal live!
man, i listen to this song almost everyday when im working but its been 25-30 years since ive seen the video. so nostalgic. Tesla gets bulked into the 80's hair band genre but they are so much more. a true blues based rock band
My favorite Tesla song is - Tesla - "Song And Emotion" - it is a tribute to Steve Clark, the guitarist from Def Leppard who died on January 8, 1991 after taking a toxic mix of painkillers, anti-depressants and alcohol. Tesla opened for Def Leppard on their Hysteria tour. >> the riff on this song is exactly how Steven Clark plays guitar AWESOME SONG!!!!
*Ah...this is a great Tesla song. Enjoy! The singer is Jeff Keith...and lead guitarist is Frank Hannon. Please try more Tesla: What You Give__Modern Day Cowboy__Little Suzi__Signs (cover)__Song and Emotion.*
Sometimes songs come into your life right when you need them. But sometimes they come decades before but they touch your heart and you’re not sure why. I had this on my iPod and mixed cds ever since it came out. Pre marriage. Pre kids. Then in 2013 I needed this song after my divorce. Then just a few years later my new husband and I saw them in concert and I had tears in my eyes because God was right. Love will make it back to me. Happily remarried now for almost 9 years. Beautiful lyrics and guitar.
Tesla is great they did Five Man Acoustical Jam a live album released in 1990, using acoustic guitars instead of the electric guitars. They also do some really rockin song, such as "Modern Day Cowboy"....they are versatile for sure.
I'm grew up in that era. Tesla was as big as any other band and they even survived the grunge movement but then suddenly they broke up. They are far from one hit wonders. They even inspired Mtv's unplugged series because there 5 man acoustical jam was so big. Facts! 💯
Tesla is one of my favorite hair bands of the 80s. I love Edison’s Medicine, Song and Emotion, What You Give, also you should do the live version of Signs.
"cummin' atcha live", "hang tough", "makin' magic", "modern day cowboy", and " little Suzie" are all great Tesla songs, among many. The first two albums, Mechanical Resonance and The Great Radio Controversy, are strait fire, start to finish
Love this song and band. Sooo many memories. I was in the Marine Corps in 91 and had a buddy that went to school with these guys in Sacramento. Always talked about them in boot camp and SOI. Had a 96 for the 4th of July and went up to Sacramento for the long weekend. Tesla had a few months off before they started their European leg of the Phsycotic Supper tour and they all came over to my buddies house to see him on leave and we partied all weekend long. Great time, awesome memories
These guys are my home town band. I grew up in Sacramento, they started out called “City Kid” but changed to Tesla when they got their first record deal. So many great songs. You guys talked a lot about the singer but Frank Hannon is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.
Great analogy. The 80’s were awesome. Not that I wish to discuss politics but……these days there is an orange jackass who has created a massive atmosphere of hate and anger. The days of being care free and getting along with almost everyone no matter the difference of opinion needs to come back
Tesla was a great band. Modern Day Cowboy, Edison's Medicine, What You Give, Call It What You Want, are songs you guys need to cover. Excellent, excellent songs. Keep up the good work, guys!!
Saw this band when they opened for Def Leppard back around 86-88. Nobody had heard of them at the time as it was just before their debut album had begun to get traction. They blew the crowd away! I went out the next day and bought the cassette.
I met the singer, Jeff Keith, on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise. Then he happened to be in the same empty area of the airport on the way home, so I talked to him a bit. Great guy. Took a couple of photos. He even filmed a birthday message for a friend's daughter for me. He had taken his mom on the cruise for her birthday, and she was an awesome lady. She was on the phone having a loud, hilarious conversation with someone when I started talking to Jeff and when she got done she came up to me and gave me a couple heavy squeeze hugs, thanking me for being her son's fan. Just a very cool interaction I didn't expect off the cruise.
Paradise is one of their lesser remembered songs but it's beautiful. It was one of my older sister's favorite songs. So I play it and many of her other favorites on her birthday. She absolutely loved Tesla.
SUCH A GREAT SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tesla was soooooo underrated!!!!! And YES, this song was HUGE!!!!! Lead singer is Jeff Keith, guitarist is Frank Hannon and y’all should check out What you give by them
Would love to see you guys react to Tesla doing the song, "signs signs"....it's a fun acoustic song off of their acoustic album, Five man acoustic jam....think you'd guys would like it.
This is one of my favorite bands, ever. Had the pleasure of meeting them a few times. Great guys and down to Earth. Another great song is "What You Give". Y'all should definitely check it out.
This video was filmed in their hometown of Sacramento. I remember when they just to be playing in the nightclubs until they hit it big. Shows you what perseverance does for you
Jeff Keith - vocalist, Frank Hannon - guitar (solo), Troy Luccketta - Drum Kit, Brian Wheat - Bass, vocals and Piano and Tommy Skeoch - Guitar and vocals
These guys are terrific. True musicians and performers. I remember seeing them on MTVs unplugged where they performed completely acoustic. They nailed it. Check out more from these guys I'm sure you'll find plenty of suggestions. One of their hits "Modern Day Cowboy" is still on my main playlist to this day.
When I was deployed to Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm we passed around someone's copy of Tesla's CD 'Five Man Acoustical Jam'. I must have listened to it about a million times.
one of my favorite rock bands, incredible music, I met them in person, they did a video in my home town of Coatesville Pa. for the song Gettin Better, their road manager came into a hardware store where I worked because they lost the hardware to put their stage together and he came in the Hardware store, bought the hardware, asked my boss if he could spare a couple guys to help build the stage they were going to perform on, me and my buddy Mike Madonna put their stage together, we were invited to the video shoot and drinks after the video shoot with the band and we got drunk with Tesla, autographs, pictures and a lot of fun and a hangover.
Ahh yeah...I seen them open up for Def Leppard in 88..the way the show and crowd looks in videos, is EXACTLY how it was back then too yall!.. It was amazing.
Jeff Keith has the most contagious smile I've ever seen. I love when they are doing interviews Jeff's says"Im just the guy they hand the mic to! Love it!
Jeff Keith is The Man!! Tesla will forever be one of my favorite bands. I have been blessed to see them live 11 times, most recently back in '19. Still touring and kicking ass. Frankie Hannon is a vastly unserappreciated guirarist. He gets lost in the shuffle of all of the 80's gunslingers, but that dude is legit.
Tesla an amazing rock band , I saw them a few times live at a Rock fest concert in Maryland at Post Merryweather Pavilion , the a few times . We We’re in the second row and they closed the show out of 16 band s they were our favorite . The lead singer Jeff Keith still has the vocals today .Good vibes and much love to y’all.please go down the rabbit hole with🙏🤗❤️😊 this band .
Tesla is a Sacramento band still doing it. Jeff Keith on Vocals, Frank Hannon play lead on this song with his double neck Gibson, Tommy Skeoch is the other guitarist who did play a lot of lead in the band, Brian Wheat on Bass and Troy Luccketta is the drummer. Troy is a really nice drummer, in the pocket, good timing, never over busy Such an underrated band but a great rabbit hole of really great music. You’ll read that from just about everyone. Thanks.
Love these guys! Their music helped make me the good fun loving person I am to day! Pure Global inspiration! A bunch of cool-ass City Kids who let us know what real Rock N Roll is all about! "Sun Fest 83'" Boise, Idaho.
This was: Jeff Keith-Lead Vicaks Frank Hannon -Lead Guitar and Vocals Tommy Skeoch-Guitar and Vocals Brian Wheat-Bass and Vocals Troy Luccketta-Drums and Vocals
LOVE TESLA!!!!! Seen em multiple times and even did a VIP Meet and Greet with them several years ago... Jeff Keith the lead singer was born here in Texarkana Arkansas. They are still rocking after all these years...... one of my Top 5 - #5 Def Leppard #4 Meat Loaf #3 Journey #2 Tesla and #1 BOSTON....
Did the Meet & Greet a couple times now. I never want to intrude on space and each time Jeff says "Get in here young lady". Not sure what I like best. Standing with Tesla or being called "Young Lady". I had heard "Mammaw" yelled at me just 2hrs earlier.
saw them in 84 when the first came out and in 86 when their Mechanical Resonance album came out best album ever, his voice today in 2024 has not changed even after losing his voice at one point when the band broke up..frank hannon original guitart player...and the amazing vocals of jeff keith....
Jeff Keith on vocals, Frank Hammon on 6 string guitar, Tommy Skeoch on " 6 and 12 string guitar, Brian White on Bass and Keys, Tony Luccketta on Drums.
Tesla is one of the most Criminally Neglected bands of this Era. Throwbacks that were far from GLAM and mixing some solid blues based Rock and Roll. "Edison's Medicine" will teach you more than you ever learned in school.
Love the solo in this song. One of the more underrated bands of the eighties.
Evhleppard...I don't think this song was a very big hit tho.,

We saw a bunch of 70’s & 80’s bands in 2019 & these guys were probably the best of all of them. They still sound amazing!!
One of the BEST concerts I ever attended. Great band but they step it up live

Did the Meet & Greet a couple times now. I never want to intrude on space and each time Jeff says "Get in here young lady". Not sure what I like best. Standing with Tesla or being called "Young Lady". I had heard "Mammaw" yelled at me just 2hrs earlier.
Tesla was very good. Check out What You Give!
