Panzanella → sarahsvegankitchen.com/recipe...
Kale Pesto →
-1/2 cup toasted nuts or seeds of choice
-1 bunch kale or other greens or herbs (spinach, parsley, cilantro, etc.)
-1/2 cup olive oil
-1/4 cup nutritional yeast
-juice of 1 lemon (optional)
-salt and pepper, to taste
Blend all ingredients in a food processor. If using a hearty green like kale, chard, or collards, I recommend blanching them for about 1 minute and then rinsing with cold water before blending.

Omg saaaaaame! So purely relaxing and warm and fuzzy
Dear Sarah, I know this is unrelated to the video, but I am struggling thru an extremely rough patch right now and just opening this video and seeing you made me feel instantly better. I don’t know exactly how many years I’ve been watching your channel, but you’ve given me that feeling of relief and comfort countless times and watching you always feels like connecting with a friend. You are so amazing. Thank you for being you. ❤️
I hope things get better soon 💞
Virtual hug for you :)
Love and light to you. xo
Seriously Sarah! Such a perfect look for you...Pretty in Pink. Salad looks amazing...team 🌿 cilantro. Loved your kitchen smock...so Sarah! LOVE going to my local Frys...I always look for all your recommendations! Totally a SVK fan. Hope you are doing ok in CA
omg where is your dress from?? it's so gorgeous and you look like a vintage, marshmallow fairy in it 😍 zhoug looks amazing - definitely going to try it!
Props for commiting to learning more about sustainability! I have been intentionally trying to live a lower impact lifestyle for the past few years and I think it's so important!! And fun, too :) . I think a huge tip for minimizing waste in the kitchen is just getting accustomed to using the freezer- I'm not sure why I never did this before, but when making a big batch of soup or beans, etc. just freeze half straight away and when you want it, thaw it out- reduces the frequency of times that the last portion of food gets too old and little funky.
Zhoug pronounced as S-kh-ug (kh as if you are clearing out your throat 😂)
Try it with hummus on a sandwich!!
My favorite no food waste tip, which I'm sure everyone knows....but veggie broth. I save the onion nub, carrot peels, broccoli stems etc in the freezer. Once the bag is full, I use it to make broth.
My favorite low waste kitchen tip. Haven’t bought broth in years!
BTW, your lighting in the kitchen is so on point!
I just really love your hair rn it is so pretty
This was a great video! My favorite tricks for reducing food waste are going through my pantry and fridge and writing down everything that I have and planning meals around that, I also really love scavenging for the clearance items at Kroger and other stores, seems like they always have a ton of produce to choose from, cleaning out your fridge regularly helps too! Then we don't forget something in the back somewhere. The fried rice looked amazing, I am definitely going to put that on my meal list soon. Thank you! 💚🌎💙
Awesome ideas! I love the cilantro recipe. I actually have some going bad in my fridge right now
I was very confused as to what zhoug was and why I’ve never heard of it in all my years as a native in the Middle East... until I watched you make it and screamed MA’BOOCH! 😂
It has multiple names in Arabic. I’m my part of the region, it’s ma’booch, but Yemenis call it sahawig. I believe Zhoug is Hebrew, which rarely any of us speak.
We love the Trader Joe’s Zhongshan sauce so much I decided to make my own. It was really good but not as good as TJ’s! I have found the best way to keep cilantro fresh is to put it in a jar with water as soon as you get it home. DO NOT WASH! I keep the jar on my kitchen window sill. Wash it just before using.
Great video as always. When it comes to cilantro I'm more on the side of it tastes like grass. I'm the same way with all fresh herbs
Great ideas, you're really inspiring! 😊💚
Love your videos! They've really helped me stay vegan for the past 4 years :)
Hi couldn't help but notice that your name is Indian. As a fellow Indian, Iam so happy that there are more of us going for vegan lifestyle. I turned vegetarian around 15 years ago. Now Im trying to be vegan but it's so difficult to find vegan substitutes here in India, specially for cheese and curd. Could you suggest me some good options? Thank you :)
@@ira6605 Yeah! I live in the United States, but whenever I'm in India I usually go for dal, chana, soya chunks, and seeds and nuts for protein. Plenty of sabzi and curries can also be made vegan by cooking with oil instead of ghee, and coconut milk instead of curd or cream. The flavor may change a little, but I prefer that taste :)
@@ajayvasisht4182 Ohh coconut milk is a good option for bringing in that creamy feel I guess! Have you tried nutritional yeast as a cheese substitute? I see everyone use it in vegan videos and it's kind of expensive here so wanted to confirm before I buy it 😅
@@ira6605 Yeah I love it - definitely a delicious substitute and also filled with B vitamins which some vegans may need help getting in their diet!
@@ajayvasisht4182 Awesome! Thank you again for helping me with my queries 🌸
Your videos have taken on a level of ASMR that I'm freaking loving. I love the Binging with Babish style where we only see your hands doing the work. Love it!
Also- where did you get your double ended measuring spoon? My MIL has one that is TSP and TBS and it’s my favorite but I can’t find a metal one like hers! :)
I’m not a vegan but i try to eat 2-3 days a week vegan to make a little bit of a difference I like your vids great ideas 😀💋
Such great ideas to try out ^_^
In our house we freeze any veg that are getting to the end of their lifespand. When we have enough I take them all, put them in a pot and cook them down with some spices and herbs to make a veggie sauce. I then pour that in to jars and store them for later cooking. It's a nice addition to a regular tomato sauce for pasta and lasagne, plus it adds more veggies to a dish :)
Also, carrot peels, leftover onion, bottoms of celery and herb stalks gets frozen for broth making.
Love the production quality and the recipes! Also you look amazing!
The panzanella looks so good
This might be my favorite video of yours ever! Love this style love the recipes! Great job Sarah 💙
Ooh the Zhoug sounds absolutely perfect for the cilantro that is currently wilting in my fridge :P Yeah I'm in the camp of it usually tastes like soap, but I bought it for another recipe. So I might repurpose it into this (minus the garlic, unfortunately, because I am allergic), to maybe use on sandwiches.
I would love to see you make a video with which are the best and non toxic pans to cook with. You always make such great videos! 🤗
i love your hoodie/apron combo look sm
You're so beautiful in every way thank you for sharing content with us, Sarah 💌
Love your videos. I will definitely try the zhoug!!!
Everything looks so fresh and delicious!! ❤❤
I really love your new style. So quiet and peaceful😍
Oh man, I love this collection of what to do with extras before they go bad, esp cilantro, which I can never use up in time. Thank you for the great ideas!
Your bowl which you use for the tomatoes and the cucumber is so beautiful.
I saw you and your boyfriend at Rhor park last Sunday & I wanted to say hi and tell you how much I love your channel and content but I was running in the opposite direction and Covid… lol. And of course I want to respect your space & privacy. I have no idea how comfortable you are having viewers approach you in public.
💜 thanks for your channel!!!
Buying frozen veggies for stir fries tends to be cheaper, even if you buy organic, especially at Kroger. It also reduces waste as long as you have freezer space.
This gave me so many new good ideas!!
Love these recipes! Always looking for ways to reduce our food waste. Thanks for sharing ❤️
I love this video! I hate throwing food away so I really appreciate these tips!
I find fried rice, stir-fry's, soups, casseroles and pasta dishes are all great ways to use up leftovers. I also use up any vegetables that need using up and/or toss in any frozen vegetables.
I freeze vegetable peels and trimmings to later turn into broth. It gives it great flavor and a lot of the vitamins are in the peels.
Sarah, everything is so beautiful in this video. It’s artsy and lovely to watch. Thanks so much for sharing with us. I can’t wait to try your panzanella recipe
You are a genius for cutting the jalapeño like that- I always scoop the seeds out with my fingers and then go on to put my fingers directly into my eyes 😅 But never again!
Omg same lol
Have to say I’m loving the new apron! 👌🏻🔥
I love the concept of this video! Would be interested in seeing more like this. I’m obsessed with finding creative ways to use up produce that’s on its way out
love your whole look!
Love this style of videos and so many different cuisines! Can't wait to try that salad and sauce
Pink is definitely your color!
❤️❤️❤️
That fried rice looks amazing🤤 and you are looking super pretty loved the way you styled your hair 😍
You should try making a lentil\bean stew into meatballs\burger patties! I do this all the time when I have a leftover stew with great flavors but don't want to have the same thing again.
thats so genius to use just egg on tofu. I hate just egg by itself and im really bad at tofu scramble, but that seems like a combo that would fix all my problems lol
Thank you Sarah. Always inspiring
Thank you for sharing Sarah! These were really helpful tips ♥️
I love making pesto with whatever nuts and herbs I have at home - cashews with a good amount of garlic manage the astringent quality that pine nuts seem to have - but even as a cilantro and chilli fiend, this is the first time I've heard of zhoug! Thanks for the introduction to it :D Joke's on my boyfriend for making fun of me for freezing our cilantro stems last month :')
It's always crazy to me how large basil leaves are in the US. Here in Germany they are tiny. 😄
"The Leftovers" on Netflix is a cool reality show for not wasteing leftovers in my opinion it is creativ and fun but not vegan
very good info
I like this new Binging with Babish-style filming. Can’t wait to try some of these pestos, many thanks!
I stopped buying cilantro because I would use a small amount and waste the rest, now I can start buying it again! (I am definitely team Cilantro).
Love your hair!!
❤️
Eric's a lucky guy. With all that garlic I'm fallin for ya
Could you make bread pudding using style bread? BTW Sarah you looked lovely in low V-neckline :)
Zhoug is basically impossible to pronounce in English lol. It's got that Kh sound as in CHannukah, z-KH-oug. none the less everything looks amazing as usual
I think I might be the only one who eats the whole tomato. End and all.
Buy a BerryBreeze on Amazon. Saves me So much money 💰
You look so beautiful!
ly sarah
wtf is zhoug? well... off to make something i can't even pronounce. thx!
I’ve been subscribed to you for so long but your videos stopped showing up on my subscription page!!! I had to type you in becuase I realized I hadn’t seen any content in awhile :(
Love the recipes but I’m not gonna lie I miss your more casual vlog style videos
Hi
I miss you talking while you are cooking instead of voice over ;)
