Thank you for the excellent video. I have been T2D for over a decade. I have been on an essentially keto diet (intermittent fasting 16/8) for 18 months and had stalled after losing 30 kg from a start of 130. Since commencing ACV before each of my 2 meals a day my appetite has reduced so much that I have been able to halve my intake and drop a further 8 kg (in about a month). You don't mention it's appetite suppressant action in any of the videos I've seen and I wondered if you or others were aware of it?
This is a wonderful description on how Insulin Resistence works. Gosh why can't our doctors do this instead of presribing $$$ drugs, also why are so many people totally accepting their diabetes 2 and not run to the library to start learning... I went to Costco the other day and one big lane of parking was dedicated tohandicapped parking. Used to be elderly frail people now you see most people parking there extremely obese then usung the handicapped shopping carts that the store also has many of, at 10 that I counted. Diabetes T2 is a epidemic in America equal to the opioid addiction.
Thank you A B. When you say "library" I'm sure you are referring to my video library, right? LOL I know what you mean though. It's tragic. I think the same thing when I see all the handicap parking and all the scooters at Walmart. If people only knew...
@@drekberg your videos are fantastic I am learning so much and I encourage people to look at them but sometimes they distrust the internet so I say start at the library. I appreciate your work.
I wish people wouldn't be so judgemental. We don't know their/anybody's stories. Just like we don't know what goes on behind closed doors. I already have anxiety issues at times. I hope everyone's not judging me! I'm not obese but I park in a handicapped parking lot because I'm a wheelchair user. I'm a paraplegic T-4/5 complete due to a car crash decades ago.
The biggest thing I found with apple cider vinegar is the fact and I mean fact that it does lower blood pressure. I've gone to my doctor recently with some of the lowest blood pressure readings that I've ever had. For years I've had problems with keeping my blood pressure down even with medication. I started taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar just for the fun of it and quickly realized that it was doing amazing things.
@BV Yup. ACV will absolutely lower your blood pressure. And it can happen almost over-night! I was able to completely come off of my Lisinopril BP medication. The thing is that once I stopped taking the ACV my blood pressure shot right back up again pretty quickly. Anyone on bp meds needs to monitor their pressure when adding ACV as it Can, and probably Will, lower it!😉
Thanks for the valuable info. You mentioned that fruits increase IR. Can you make a video about the best fruits and portions that don't spike glucose for vegetarians.

So brilliant! Thank you very much!!! The story of my life... it provides me with lots of patience to wait for my poor body to slowly get to homeostasis again, after so many years of abuse. The explanation will help keep the good work! Thank you again!
Great explanation of Insulin Resistance. What I learned: 1) the cause of insulin resistance is INSULIN 2) in treating insulin resistance, it is optimal when we are on a low-carb diet (like Keto), intermittent fasting and physical exercise (specifically HIIT). This creates a homeostasis (balance) for the body and improves the cell’s insulin intake (supply and demand) 3) taking any supplement, ie ACV, doesn’t help or hurt when you aren’t actively reducing your carb intake using methods such as intermittent fasting, keto dieting, etc). Doing so and still taking in large amounts of carbs just increases insulin and does nothing to solve or treat the metabolic syndrome. All it does then is slow the blood glucose rise but the underlying issue is still persistent and remains untreated. It’s simply deception and a slower death and will have the same outcome eventually as if you didn’t take any natural supplement at all! 4) taking a supplement such as ACV while continuing to reduce the carbohydrates is GOOD in treating the insulin resistance My only questions are: 1. can the insulin resistance be cured eventually by doing the intermittent fasting, low carb dieting, HIIT exercise? Does the cell’s IR improve to where one can eat a high carb meal, say once every other day, and their body’s ability to lower their blood glucose is as efficient as someone without any insulin resistance? Can a type 2 diabetic be “completely” cured? By “completely” I mean no more meditation but most importantly a normal A1C regardless of what they eat. I personally think not but by managing it via the means which were mentioned (Intermittent fasting, eating low carb and exercising), one can lead a normal life without any complications. What do you say? Great, great video!
You are playing with fire if your goal is to kick IR out of your life then plan on going back to eating the same junk that got you into this mess in the first place. It was an unhealthy diet from the start the way you used to eat and you want to play with it again. Keto is the new way to stay healthy for life. Best thing to do is when you eat a high carb take your glucometer and check. To me that is playing with fire.
I have the same questions. It seems had we never damaged our bodies in the first place we could still enjoy healthy carbs in moderation. Afterall nature makes carbs too and many cultures live on them without problems.
@@bibsann861 I totally understand that question. It’s not necessarily about going back to junk but having a bowl of pasta every so often or even a pizza is what I really miss. Keto is not easy for everyone, I do it only for my health but do I enjoy it? No. Not at all. Even though I see the benefits sometimes I just want to chow down on a burger and have a chocolate.
@@ShyLewis101 I’m with you. I think we were designed to eat carbs as a human species, at least in moderation. There is a reason permanent keto diets are difficult, it’s because they go against our nature. I really think there are better ways to heal. Fasting is looking very promising to be able to reverse disease.
Thank you for sharing your time and experience. Perhaps you state the HOW TO absorb or take the ACV in a different video, but that part was not shared in this clip. Can you elaborate on how to take the apple cider vinger? Ron
Chanced upon one clip on this about 3+ months ago. Decided to try it about 6 weeks ago. Followed the regime strictly. Today is the 4th I got off acv. All my 3 daily readings the last 3 days are back to normal. Amazing.

You are amazing, i feel I'm a doctor, the way you explain things even though my tongue is Arabic and weak in English yet i can understand, very insightful, may Allah bless you and your family.
I enjoyed that explanation of insulin resistance, thank you
Agreed
That was so great!! I’m forever going to picture insulin as that stick figure dude with the sinister grin ☺️ and the disguise 🥸 knocking at my cell doors... 🚪😁🤣🤣🤣🤗
Thank you so much Dr. Ekberg for the explanation of how our cells develop insulin resistance. I loved the illustration you used of the little "salesman" and the "house cell". It just cannot clearer than this. I'm learning a lot watching your videos. Hopefully, I can reverse my pre-diabetes, improve my A-1C, and once and for all lose the extra weight that I've been carrying for years.
Thank you, I do take ACV, now I know I can't take it as a "fixer", curb my carbs is a must!🙏
This was so simple but beautiful. I reversed IR with very clean keto and IF. We need more Drs like you
How long it took you to reverse it ??
That makes a lot of sense, I will share this with my family and friends. Thank you Dr Ekberg
Thank you Mette Harter. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it.
Wow! This helped me understand the insulin resistance even better. Many many thanks. I have changed some things…..but now I am clearly motivated to continue to reduce more carbs, etc. I think I have been experiencing some withdrawal, so I am going to keep going….I want to feel better and better. Thks Doc.

I salute you Doctor. Amazing video to treat life style diseases & people doesn't need medical help. I don't have words to appreciate
Thank you Prabathkumar Ravindran. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it.
Love the way that you used the analogy of the door to door salesman. Cracked me up! Made me think of that darn insulin as annoying.!
Thanks for this info, it’s all coming clearer to me, a new IF/Keto subscriber, makes me glad I’ve chosen this path. ✌🏾❤️
Thank you Gutchie Spencer. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it.
Very nicely explained in simple language... Well done Dr. Ekberg
This sheds a lot of light on the process of becoming diabetic.

This is a very helpful information...easy to understand. Thanks Dr Ekberg
Thank you Laraian V..
We is acv. It does make your tummy girgle at times during digestion. Use only acv on salad w/x-virg olive oil (were diabetic’s).
I love how Dr Ekberg doesn’t fall into the trap of treating diet fads (of any kind) as a panacea. The unique element in his videos is the fact that a balanced view is presented (both pros and cons). Nice job!
This is the FIRST time I have understood insulin so clearly.Thank you!
Best explanation of Insulin Resistance and what Insulin’s job is that I’ve ever heard. You made it si easy to understand and remember. My little pea brain thanks you!
Your videos are always appreciated!
Could you pls determine the low-carb diet? How many grams of carbs per day or per meal?
I love you! Your way of explaining this was so perfect and made me giggle. I am going to reverse my IR and T2 diabetes once and for all thanks to you.
Fantastiskt bra beskrivet. Är mitt uppe i min årliga fasta och får inspiration, och förundran och respekt för hur vår kropp fungerar. Fasta i kombination med kontakt med vår skapare i tacksamhet och kontemplation över livets fundament - sanning och kärlek.
I love your teachings Dr. Ekberg! Thank you so much for sharing and caring! Best doctor ever!!
I just found out that I am type two diabetes that runs in my family my middle son just passed away from complications of type one diabetes at the age of 39 diabetic and my doctor just told me I am type two diabetic this video helps so much to understand what is going on in my body and what I need to do thank you so much bless you❤️
You and Dr. Eric Berg are the best, I'm learning so much it's amazing.

Salesman example is hilarious but very much understandable.Excellent doctor
Thank you for this important information. Have been drinking ACV for years after reading Braggs book on health.....thinking ACV is good for insulin control and blood pressure. Interestingly I've not been medically diagnosed for type 2 ...so I saw ACV as a preventive measure.
Thank you Ron Clark. That it might still be.
@Michelle Passmore ACV is very good
@@geraldinemcardle2418 Yes and so is Cerasee Tea 🍵 if you can handle the bitter taste. Cerasee is excellent for type 2 Diabetes, don't believe me? Speak to anyone from Jamaica 🇯🇲 and they will tell you.
@@africangodman6145 Correct! I need to go and pull some up right now.
So what’s the best way to take ACV. And at what point.
So explicitly explained in layman's terms. I'm so glad you understand there are lots of followers who are more inclined to stay on these types of videos than most who bombarded us w many clinical words. Thanks & as always loved fr Singapore
Thank you michelle goh.
*Your video on whether apple cider vinegar can actually reverse insulin resistance and help with weight loss was so informative! I appreciated the way you presented the scientific evidence and explained the potential mechanisms behind its effects. Thanks for sharing!*
You are truly one amazing and knowledgeable doctor. Love every one of your videos. Keep them coming please. Thanks for your effort and hard work. You are truly appreciated.
yes ...you explain things to the public perfectly..and you imply comon sence in your vids...i finally understand!!! you dr. E are the best
I also feel like it is an appetite suppresor tbh:)
When I saw those weight loss results I said "That is definitely a man". Men lose weight so easily. Congrats to you and thank you for sharing.
ACV also takes care of acid reflux.
Plz do video on reducing neuropathy pain. Many Diabetics are MOST motivated when they are in pain.
Thank You A B
@@drekberg Thank You for this. They say in Atlanta dialysis shops are popping all over. Some intersections have more than two. Whats going on?
I wish people wouldn't be so judgemental. We don't know their/anybody's stories. Just like we don't know what goes on behind closed doors. I already have anxiety issues at times. I hope everyone's not judging me! I'm not obese but I park in a handicapped parking lot because I'm a wheelchair user. I'm a paraplegic T-4/5 complete due to a car crash decades ago.
Exceptionally good. 🙏🏽
I have this problem of insulin. You've explained it perfectly! Thank you so very much! Now I know how to proceed! ♥
You are welcome Raini Cascadia.
¡¡Muy bueno Dr. Ekberg!!!
¡¡Ud. es una cornucopia de conocimientos!!!
Thank you B V. Great for you. Thanks for sharing.
@BV Yup. ACV will absolutely lower your blood pressure. And it can happen almost over-night! I was able to completely come off of my Lisinopril BP medication. The thing is that once I stopped taking the ACV my blood pressure shot right back up again pretty quickly. Anyone on bp meds needs to monitor their pressure when adding ACV as it Can, and probably Will, lower it!😉
My BP is already low... 😩
IT DOES ALOT
Do you take it with water or anything else? Just wondering.
Thanks for the valuable info. You mentioned that fruits increase IR. Can you make a video about the best fruits and portions that don't spike glucose for vegetarians.
A t il fait une vidéo de ce genre ?

Wow.. never have i ever heard such a beautiful explanation of insulin resistance... Thank you Dr.
You were born to teach! Thank you for this great explanation!
Fantastic explanation doc. Yet I'd love to know why ACV helps reduce insulin resistance on a .low carb diet. What 's in it to have such a power. Thanks.
Acetic acid.
Love the analogy of the Salesman - At last I fully understand! Thank you 👊👊👊
Loved your metaphor, and now I understand insulin resistance. It was an abstract concept to me before.
It's an analogy. Not a metaphor. Sounds like you have just as much trouble with language as you do with science.
@@tc1817 you are rude & #$&!#
@@redeemedbygrace9236 Patty doesn't know what a metaphor is. Or an analogy. Maybe my comment will give her the impetus to get a dictionary. I'm sure it didn't kill her. I'm almost certain it didn't even spoil her day.
Thank u doc for explaining insulin resistance clearly
I have been watching your fantastic videos for the last 2 weeks, I seriously think schoolchildren should be shown these in school as part of their education, as I feel sure there is going to be an explosion of future diabetics there. You certainly are the best here on U Tube, and the way you go deep into detail, and the reasons are so brilliant. Thank you for all the work you have put into making these videos which you explain in layman’s turn. From Margaret Churchill. England
Beautifully explained and put together as always. Many many thanks😀
Best explanation i evervheard about insulin redistance. Thank you doctor.
Thank You Dr. Sten you made it so simple to understand and to retain. Please keep these videos coming you are an important part of creating a healthier world.🙏
I thank you Dr. Ekberg you make something that is hard to understand YOU MAKE IT MUCH EASYER to understand LOVE THE VISUAL BOARD.
Yes, I like this explanation by Dr Sten Ekberg. Comperhensible. Eating food with High carb contributed to the main facts of Insulin Resistance.

I recently started following your channel

Your style is perfect in understanding
The best teacher ever
Thank you sir
Dear Dr Ekberg,
A Fantastic explanation of a very subjective matter insulin resistance. I have heard many who tried explaining IR but it could not register. What did the job was your illustration of supply and demand, this drove in the point for me. Thanks

Iam insulin dependent. Thanks for the information youve got in, about applecider. It really work on me
So brilliant! Thank you very much!!! The story of my life... it provides me with lots of patience to wait for my poor body to slowly get to homeostasis again, after so many years of abuse. The explanation will help keep the good work! Thank you again!
This video makes Type 2 Diabetes so understandable! Thank you!
Thank you so much for that description of insulin resistance!! For the first time, I understand what it really is!
Thanks so much for explaining. I have pcos and insulin resistance. O had no idea ask my life what that meant! You've saved my life!!
Great explanation of Insulin Resistance. What I learned:
1) the cause of insulin resistance is INSULIN
2) in treating insulin resistance, it is optimal when we are on a low-carb diet (like Keto), intermittent fasting and physical exercise (specifically HIIT). This creates a homeostasis (balance) for the body and improves the cell’s insulin intake (supply and demand)
3) taking any supplement, ie ACV, doesn’t help or hurt when you aren’t actively reducing your carb intake using methods such as intermittent fasting, keto dieting, etc).
4) taking a supplement such as ACV while continuing to reduce the carbohydrates is GOOD in treating the insulin resistance
My only questions are:
1. can the insulin resistance be cured eventually by doing the intermittent fasting, low carb dieting, HIIT exercise? Does the cell’s IR improve to where one can eat a high carb meal, say once every other day, and their body’s ability to lower their blood glucose is as efficient as someone without any insulin resistance? Can a type 2 diabetic be “completely” cured? By “completely” I mean no more meditation but most importantly a normal A1C regardless of what they eat. I personally think not but by managing it via the means which were mentioned (Intermittent fasting, eating low carb and exercising), one can lead a normal life without any complications. What do you say?
Great, great video!
Good question
Ron
That was exactly how I needed IR to be explained to me! I'm on day 4 of my official i.f. and I need all the education I can get on food and body.
Chanced upon one clip on this about 3+ months ago. Decided to try it about 6 weeks ago. Followed the regime strictly. Today is the 4th I got off acv. All my 3 daily readings the last 3 days are back to normal. Amazing.
When is the correct time to drink ACV, before eating or after??
I was pre diabetic and I started this stuff and I haven''t felt this good in a while
