Apache has been on fire for us this past month! Sunday I caught at least 2 dozen yellow bass. It got to the point of being annoying lol. My wife pulled out her new PB largemouth at 5lb 14oz.
Congrats on the PB! And those yellow bass can be fun if bass fishing is slow. Apache has been really good this year for sure. I was out there again last Saturday and caught several big ones including a 5.5lb largemouth. I've caught my last two PB's at Apache. If you ever see me out there say hello. I'm there quite often.
@@flipflopfishingAZ We've been out every weekend for a month straight now. Usually on Sundays or we go up Saturday afternoon and camp, then fish Sunday. We were on the water until midnight Saturday, the sheriffs helicopter buzzed us while looking for a missing person. I'll be sure to say hello if we do see you.
Heya! Thanks for subscribing! All my bfs rods are 7ft 1-piece. Shimano Sensilite (discontinued), a Dobyns Sierra Ultra Finesse, and two are bfs rods from Old 18.
People are dumb about wakes. A lot of boaters will think they are being courteous and slow down when they see you fishing and that just throws a wake up off their bow. If you are already cruising, then just stay at speed and keep your boat up on plane if you don't want to make a wake.
Those guys were cruising by at about 3mph and then punched it right next to me creating the maximum wake possible. I'm sure they didn't mean to but it was kind of annoying. Boat wakes are part of the experience. I just wish boaters were more aware sometimes. I've been boating my whole life. There's are lot of folks who own boats that have no idea what they're doing.
@@flipflopfishingAZ Like the wake boats that cruise JUST outside the no wake zone. I think that should be a ticketed offense. If you are sending a massive wake through the no wake zone, it shouldn't matter that your boat isn't technically in the zone.
@@logannewman4532 Exactly. I've seen a lot of stupid stuff like that. It goes with the territory. We gotta share the lakes though. For better or worse.
Hi, new sub here! Super interested in kayak fishing but only have past experience as a boater. Curious to know how do you handle the big wakes or do you try to avoid weekends when there’s more traffic? Thanks! Keep up the content!
@@Xoyche Hi, and welcome! The short answer on how to handle waves is to point your bow at the wave and push through, that is if it's a big one. Waves are part of the experience and I've definitely developed strategies to deal with or avoid them altogether.
Nobody has more fun than you Mike. What a great video!
Thank you!!! Definitely having a blast for sure. It NEVER gets old.

Might be optical illusion but looks like your line is wrapped around rod between reel and first guide 18:52? Great video as usual. Thanks
Oops, didn’t play it through to see you catch it.
Good eye! I was wondering if anyone would notice before I pointed it out. =) Thanks for watching!
