@@daking414apparently it was started by someone who just started fishing and didn't know how to hook a plastic worm, so they hooked it in the middle and started catching fish
Inspired me to head to the pond and throw a dinger. Caught 6 largies. Biggest was 3 pounds. Good morning, thanks for getting me fired up to catch some fish.
LOVE how you fish with "different" baits of all kinds and you stick with whatever you choose for a bait that day.Great fish, not one bad one.Nicely done.
Best start to my morning while at work!!! Boom fish on!!! At 4:28 nice save brother!!! Bass said Thank You!!! At 17:05 that 4.5lber was a beast indeed way to end the day!!!
I was surf fishing with my father, jeez, must have been 30 years ago, and I tripped over a piece of mono that was sticking out of the sand. Started pulling and eventually dug out a rod and reel 🤣
I was casting off a rocky point and caught somebody's lost tip section! I kept it and used it! Later on, I found someone's discarded rod and reel. Free stuff!
So glad to find you're still here! I saw your comment two weeks ago about some problem with your house, and then you weren't here the following week! Offered up a little prayer that all was well with you and your family. Thankful that it was answered!
These videos are extremely calming and very fun to watch, and I learn some stuff too. What a great channel. I'm recommending you to some folks I know. Thanks for the relaxing videos. I wish you great luck and I hope you find continued success in your YT journey.
I’ve been using a pink worm and a wacky rig for the past two months of summer, and I’ve caught more bass than ever before. It’s awesome seeing you doing the same!
Almost to half a million subs Matt!? Lets go!! So happy to see it. Been tagging along for so many years now. I recently uploaded my first kayak fishing video on my channel. Thanks for the inspiration! Tight lines from Northern VA
Matt, Can you do a video showing how you heat shrink wacky worms? I use the O-Rings but sometimes the Bass or Pike slip them right out or it tears them in half. I have used 2 O-Rings making and X pattern and it puts the hook in a better position in my opinion. But I would like to try your method. Thanks, Lay Low.
A marvellous fishing session with those eight tanks of bass. My tennis elbow injury is virtually cured after almost three months out of fishing. I wish my luck with the wacky rig is as good as yours when in two weeks time I return to my favourite lake. As always a most enjoyable video in a gorgeous scenery.
Finally got my 5+ lb smallmouth in ND this year! 5.33lb up in the chain. That one was on a buddy's boat but my 7.2 lb ND largemouth was on the kayak. Love watching you fish and enjoy the videos. Thanks.
Your videos remind me of my good old days in Wisconsin. I wish I had known how to fish back then. Now with fancy Shimanos and Daiwas, I'm stuck in the middle of the structureless SoCal reservoirs. I dream one day...one day...I would go back to midwest and enjoy fishing in calm rivers and lakes. Thank you for the videos.
Pink is an unlikely color, but it works. I tie several of my favorite subsurface fly patterns in it. I'm going to try a bottom-running crayfish imitation in it today. Some say a light flesh tone triggers a carryover response for "soft" craws.
I ultra and super ultra lite fish using a pink LarvaZ on a 1 gram i_fish BG-1 with a #12 hook with MUCH success catching bluegill, crappie and small bass in a local pond or 3.
I have some pink worms about 1-1/2 L x 3/32 Dia that Brook Trout just gobble up in clear streams. Pink beats all other colors most days by a longshot. For whatever reason. 🙂 I even fish them on the fly gear occasionally
I have 2 comments. First and foremost is I really appreciate you taking the rest of that fishing line out of the water. Around here I believe I'm the only one who does that. Second, I am 58 and have never caught a fish on a plastic worm of any type or any rig. I might be the only person who can't
My friend I had with wasn’t having much luck with topwater so I rigged up a worm for him. He had never wacky worm fished before but ended up with several nice fish!
Best advice is to try it on a smaller body of water where you catch fish. Then, try bigger lakes and rivers/creeks along shoreline cover. This has 🎉worked for this 53 year old more than once and for more than one technique. The 90s it was Texas rig Power worms, then about 10 years ago with a shaky head jig and this past 5 or so years the wacky rig. You can do it but it will be by sacrificing some numbers and catching to gain confidence and trust.
@@brianathern9154 I have a small ''lake'' , it's only 40 acres and I catch tons of fish there, but the worm doesn't work for me. It works for other people, just not me. Wacky, Texas, Carolina. None of it works. Pink worms, white, pumpkin, black. Nope. Everyone I know tells me what color they think works best, I try and fail. One day it will happen, I'm sure of it.

Great choice for the high sky at the end of summer. I don't know why bass hit them or the bubble gum yellow swirl color either. I can tell you I did some experiments with a weightless bubble gum Mister Twister worm in the baby vomit Exude scent. The pond bass were destroying them and it didn't reach the bottom often. I bought the Yum Dingers in 4 & 5 inch bubble gum lemon swirl and started catching plenty. I guess if the fish don't complain and keep biting then I don't need to know why 🤷 😅😅😅. Thanks for taking us along Matt
Just a couple weeks ago I found a smallmouth with a bluegill wedged sideways in his mouth. It was stopping him from using his gils and he was suffocating pretty quickly (I had just heard him try and eat it and was on the way to investigate). Got it out and resuscitated him and he gently swam off. Always a good feeling helping a fish in distress like you did here.
Nice chunky bass. Nothin better than waking up on a Saturday to watch the Bob Ross of fishing. Gonna get out later today because you gave me the itch like always
Just wanted to pop in and say -Awesome way to spend a day! It’s been a while since I’ve left a comment. Man you inspired me about 8 years ago to kayak fish, and I’ve become so adapted to my local rivers and lakes… upstate ny I have absolutely enourmous smallmouth in my river (and predator fish walleye and pike…10lb walleye getting caught weekly at the local locks) it’s a trophy factory fishery. I can’t say I learn a whole lot from the content, but that’s not what it’s about for me..I like to learn on my own with my own techniques ..but that’s fishing, nobody can teach someone to catch fish.. they need to be able to have the mindset and tools for the job. I get strikes in very thick pads on a frog but I’m sure you know that kind of hook up ratio. Pads that go back 100ysrds… 1 in 10 if I’m lucky. But before that, I was catching more quality and quantity than ever before. We are very like minded… I look forward to you videos every week , it’s 15-20 mins to “purely” relax , to me. Thanks Matt.
