Most of my fishing for the past few years has been out of the irrigation canals that crisscross the city of Mesa. It took a while for me to realize that I can ride my bike for about three and a half miles in just about any direction from my home and be at a stretch of water that holds fish. From my home it's a sixty mile round trip to the Lower Salt River, and there's no guarantee that I'll catch any fish. There's no guarantee that I'll catch fish in the canals either but, doing this doesn't put any miles on my vehicle or use up gas in my truck. Once they start the water flowing again in the Lower Salt river I'll probably go there again some time. The canals in my area have just started flowing again after the annual canal maintenance that the SRP does every year. Good video by the way. Cheers.

The water is always dirty down there when they lower the flow from Stewart Mountain and increase the flow from Bartlett.

I’m new in the area. Originally from Midwest. Live in the west valley. Have a kayak and ready to fish! I went to lake Pleasant once- about got run over! I checked out Lynx last fall the found out they are lowering the level for maintenance. I guess I will head to Sportsman Warehouse to get some maps. Surprise pond ain’t cutting it🤣I don’t Facebook . Maybe I’ll catch you on the water!
