I don’t really know all that much about the war involving Israel, I just don’t understand what is going on there really, I just know that I love this song and I would love it regardless of which country it came from. It’s impossible to give out casualty number minutes after things happen and that’s what Hamas does, so we know they’re fake. We’ve seen it from very very early on from the misfired pij rocket that didn’t even hit the hospital but they had already claimed over 500 deaths within minutes. The real number was maybe not even double digits, and the deaths were not from an Israeli rocket.

I don’t really know all that much about the war involving Israel, I just don’t understand what is going on there really, I just know that I love this song and I would love it regardless of which country it came from. Also I will say this, why should she be punished for the country she comes from, she is clearly a very talented artist and the country she was born in, which she had no control over, should not mean she is hated or discriminated against.
I grew up as a white South African during apartheid. Black South Africans did not have equal rights and were treated beyond terribly by the South African government at the time and by most white South Africans too. International boycotts and sanctions were absolutely vital in helping to get rid of apartheid. Apartheid was a crime against humanity and what Israel is doing to the Palestinians is too. Tens of thousands of civilians have been brutally killed by the Israeli army. Massacres, hospitals targeted, mass graves. I did not have a choice to be born white in South Africa, but I did, and do, have a choice not to promote injustice. And so does Eden Golan. She should have turned this down.
She is not performing as an individual but as a representative of a country: Israel. Bishop Desmond Tutu (South African Nobel Peace Prize winner) said that to be neutral in situations of injustice is to side with the oppressor. I hope I would have turned down any opportunity/offer to represent the apartheid South African state at the time. And had I not, people would have been completely fair to boo my performance. I really hope you will educate yourself about what is being done to Gaza and just how bad it is.

Further, if Israeli citizens have no rights in the West Bank, how come hundreds of thousands of them live in the West Bank and are allowed to travel on roads that Palestinians themselves can not travel on? Further, Arab Palestinian citizens of Israel do not enjoy full equal rights. While they can vote and hold governmental positions, there are still some legal discriminations against them. Go try your hasbara on someone else. I'm not buying it. I grew up amongst racists (many of them friends and family members) who would twist facts and play the victim, so that they didn't have to face the reality of who they were and their own complicity and guilt. It’s impossible to give out casualty number minutes after things happen and that’s what Hamas does, so we know they’re fake. We’ve seen it from very very early on from the misfired pij rocket that didn’t even hit the hospital but they had already claimed over 500 deaths within minutes. The real number was maybe not even double digits, and the deaths were not from an Israeli rocket.
