Fucking hilarious, they throw the keyboard on the floor at the beginning of the song and then it takes the stage crew the whole song to put it back together just for him to throw it on the floor again at the very end.

Blah Not that this is much help now lol but MTV played a lot of clips and performances from Woodstock 94 while it was live and over the course of the next year. I was 11 at the time and my older cousins who were going didn't want to bring me so I just taped as much as I could off of Mtv. I remember summer of 95 MTV played this particular clip a lot.

I bet it would pretty weird for him playing this song live again in 2018. Back in the 90s where he freaked out to this song all that raw emotion. It was his first song and the beginning of his career also the start of his destructive behaiviour. It's not one of his best songs(i think down in it is unterrated), but definitely one of his more 'emotional'.

Kinda like a cloud I was up way up in the sky and I was feeling some feelings
You wouldn't believe sometimes I don't believe them myself and I decided I was
Never coming down. just then a tiny little dot caught my eye it was just about
Too small to see. but I watched it way too long and that dot was pulling me
    Down.
    [Chorus:]
    I was up about it.
    I was up above it.
    Now I'm down in it
    I was up above it.
    I was up above it.
    Now I'm down in it
Well shut up so what what does it matter now. I was swimming in the haze now I
Crawl on the ground. and everything I never liked about you is kind of seeping
Into me. try to laugh about it now but isn't it funny how everything works
Out ("I guess the jokes on me." she said)
    [Chorus]
I used to be so big and strong.
I used to know my right from wrong.
I used to never be afraid.
    I used to be somebody
I used to have something inside
Now just this hole that's open wide.
I used to want it all
    I used to be somebody
I'll cross my heart and hope to die but the needle's already in my eye. and
All the world's weight is on my back and I don't even know why. and what I
Used to think was me is just a fading memory
I looked him right in the eye and said "goodbye."
    [Chorus]

I am SO GRATEFUL & HAPPY I GOT TO SE THEM LIVE last month at Louder Than Life Music Festival In KY.....
EVEN with all.odds against me- financially & medically & not having my own reliable car or a valid license or credit card-I MADE IT-900 MILES TO SEE THEM......EVEN THOUGH AS SOON AS I FOUND OUT THEY WERE TOURING IN U.S.ALMOST A YEAR BEFORE & I told myself I'd get there No Matter What Unforseen Circustmaces CUOLD COME UP.....
OF COURSE THEY ALL DID & AS TIME GOT CLOSER & closer & I watched more LIve concerts online WHICH helped my mind TREMENDOUSLY AS ALWAYS & I learned & LOVED & Related to more 'NEW TO ME Genius Songs by Trent Reznor & NINE INCH NAILS.
'IMO NineInch Nails I have noticed to be the BEST YET MOST UNDERRATED & THE SONGS & STYLES ARE UNIQUE & ABOUTimportant issues-AT LEAST TO ME & I HAVE BEEN TO QUITE A FEW LIVE CONCERTS-various genres-SO FAR IN MY LIFE-Mostly Rap & Hip Hop but my first was Poison & David Lee Rot at Madison Square Garden-floor seats-About 12 rowa back from front as a young child & I have seen genres from Air Supply to Alice Cooper to Snoop Dogg to Ludacris to Mya-Shaggy-Jadakiss-The Beatbuts-Mary J. Blige-Starship-Jefferson Airplane in 2014 when I didn't realize it was the SAME BAMD- DIFFERENT MEMBERS TO WHAT AN EVENTFUL EXCELLENT SHOW & PERFORMANCE OF WHITE RABBIT- buttons Gonna Stup Us Now-Sara-We Built This City & so many others & I had gone just to ser the song from Mannequin movie I loved as a child-Nothings gonna Stop Us Now & was pleasantly shielded to know so much more & that night after concert I saw an EXCELLENT PINK FLOYD COVER BAND at a bar-I am not a big fan of bars & drinkers but never expected such a GREAT COVER BAND SO I TRIED MANY OTHERS THE NEXT YEAR OR TWO & UNTIL THAT SAME COVER BAND CAME BACK-I wasn't imposed eith many others but still enjoyed myself hoping to be blown away by anotherr greart new band
-Plenty others in last 8-10 years like Blue Oyster Cult & The Zombies who I never thought I liked bit saw Live & they were great H each had a few songs in knew & liked- Then there was STEVE WINWOOD-Jackson Browne-J.Geild BAND of which I knew a few Sikhs from b each but not my choice of a show to see Live but was invited & went & that was just OK to me-A few songs were OK but buying that x was so great IMO & ACTUALLY LEFTV WHEN HEADLINER JACKSON BROWNE STARTED AS TH REALLY WASN'T FOR ME-NO offense as I felt same with Jadakiss AR that Vakentines show & enjoyed Fatman Scoop & Beatnuts so much more.....I only discovered ai eked Matilym Manson songs- Several atcleast in 2013 & he was performing 1 night only on my birthday I NYC SO I IMMEDIATELY GOT TICKETS & MISSED SHOW AS I RUSHER THINK ROCK STATS STARTED ON TIME AT 7;00PM & ARRIVED AS HE ENDED h Rob zombie was starting & I didn't know any of zombies songs & was afraid to see him alone so close to Halloween & Marilyn Manson was the hadliner bit I then bought vanotherc ticket c for an outdoor NY show that same week-Gave middle PLENTY OF TIME TO GET THERE & WORKED IN NJ FOR YEARS SO I EXPECTED I had c ledger of time bit dusky sccount for detours & didn't account for fact the outdoor show in rain WOULD HAVE SO MANY HUGE DETOURS SO MANY EXITS BEFORE IT OR THAT CITY OF SHOW WAS RIGHT AT EDGE OF PHILADELPHIA PA & Much further out than I thought so even with the eyes time ai gage myself & this added roadwork & detours AGAIN AS I GOT THERE I COYLE HEAR MARILYN MANSON-outdoors doing his last song but parking lot was FULL & MY TICKETWAS at WILL CALL & I asked a policec officer directing Reid when told me I needed to park about a mile away c from stadium pating someone $25-$45 to park them walk 35minutes or so through stadium lot to pickup ticket & was in mosh put AS TGIS SHOW SOLD OUT & I ALREASY MISSED BIRTGDAY SHOW GEBERALBADMISSION DO I COULD GET TO FRONT BAR FRONT OF STAGE ?H THEN NO REFUND BUT BEGGED TO SELL ME A TICKET AS I EXPLAINED I WAS SMALL & COULD EASILY FIT SEVERAL OF ME IN THE SPACE THAT 1 MAN WOULD TAKE SO PLEASE SELL ME A TICKET & THRY DID BIT VWHEN I REALIZED AGAIN ITCWAS CLOSER TO HALLOWEEN h all I'd I'd to see was Rob xonbie I decided to turn around & was upset my Will call tovkrg was never even mailed to me later for a weird souvenirs of 2 tickets 2 concerts mossed the week of my birthday-Fast that's a year or so I get another Marilyn Msnson ticket & was on time & he canceled last minute due to weather but I made it& show was to be rescheduled but never was & LASTLY WENT TO HONES BEACH OUTDOOR AMPITHEATER OUTDOORS NEXT SUMMER & WAS DRIVEN INTO LOT AS I HESRD 'The Beautiful people playing.....end of showzSo 4 attempts & never got to see him I think maybe wasn't meant to be but fast forward to 8 years later & find out the MAJORITY OF Marilyn Manson dogs I love are took thevalbum trentbReznor wrote with him& for him
-I SAW young Money concerg about 12 years ago with lul Wayne Nicki Minaj Rick Ross Busta rhymes but only knew a few songs at the time as ibwas more into the older Hio Hop days Luke Jay-Z mobb deep Foxy Brown lil Kim Tupac biggie & so on & Eminem & all that
I really hadn't been to a concert I'm over 20 years it seems except the amount Momey tour& my attempts from 2013-2015 & Rushford the few I saw around 2014-2015 but in nose bleed section & sAlice Cioper was great but needing binoculars to see detracts from experience & I have issues Trent has gone through & just knew seeinng him live close & personal world POSITIVELY IMPACT A LOT OF PROBLEMS HOLDING ME BACK BUT SOMEHOW even being traumatized by trip there plumissing g entire Beginning o their set not just missing Festival

I don't mind stage antics, unless they hurt the performance. I'm glad nowadays Trent is more restarained on stage.

Glorifying drugs, seriously? What are you, twelve?
And yeah, I prefer musicians actually playing instruments while they're on stage, instead of fucking around. Modern NIN concerts are miles ahead of this buffoonery, both performance-wise and visually-wise.

If you don' take drugs, you are just a stupid poser. If you do take drugs, good luck dying in your forties.

Simple Guy Trent himself has said that this is his worst performance but I disagree i enjoy the raw energy of it and some of old-school NIN shows were visually stunning and more restrained but for Woodstock 94 you can't expect it to be polished and perfect. All that mud doesn't help and Woodstock isn't supposed to be all flashy and sanitized..look at some of the other acts from Woodstock 94..Green day flinging mud, Flea from RHCP running around naked..So if anything I think this "buffoonery " works in this case. I personally prefer artists who switch their performances up so you never know what to expect. I get the impression that for the artists playing Woodstock that year, because of the rain and mud were miserable so they decided to have fun with it and do the best they could. And as a result they fucking rocked.

There is a balance between chaos and performance that Trent has mastered. Like the end of beside you in time. Clearly he went way in the direction of chaos here. Although he performed other songs at Woodstock much more accurately

I don't think Woodstock 94 was seen as a shitshow. You're likely thinking of Woodstock 1999. That's the one that is often called one of the worst festivals of all time because of all the rioting.

@@danman6669 Even before the rioting, WS 99 was rife with sexual assault, up to and including gang rape. Note that it was also a shitshow in a literal sense; people tried to recreate the "mud people" from 1994, but it mostly wasn't mud. The 1999 festival had a large percentage of douchey nu-metal fans, a backlash to the pro-feminist atmosphere that had emerged in the grunge era. I'm not saying that inappropriate conduct didn't happen at WS 94, but nobody has ever said that it was on par with what happened at WS 99.
Keep in mind that the same is true for WS 1969. Laid-back hippie guys on weed/acid are less likely to do that sort of thing than dudebros full of cheap beer. Groping (and possibly worse) surely happened at that event as well, but again, it seems that WS 99 was off the charts. Had it been an event with a large number of bikers or the 1960s versions of dudebros (what were they listening to?), it could have turned out much the same. See Altamont!
WS 94 was musically successful, but the organizers made no money, because so many people got in for free. That was true in 1969 as well, but they eventually made a profit (about ten years later) due to the album(s) and the movie. Thus, in 1999, they chose a secure venue, a former air force base made of hot tarmac; a very large place where the stages were far apart and vendors had a captive audience to charge high prices to. It was possible to leave the site via shuttle bus and go into town, but that took quite a while.
That sort of thing is what triggered the rioting. Limp Bizkit played "Break Stuff" the day before, and the crowd went wild and did begin to break stuff, a preview of what happened on the final night. The rioting did have more to do with the terrible conditions than the crowd itself; some of the attendees in 1969 looted and burned some of the vendors' tents partway through the festival, but the organizers got things (like the price gouging) under control, and the peace & love continued.
Watch the Netflix documentary. The HBO documentary is okay, but Netflix's is far superior.
